devs will be forking away from scrypt all together soon , so any how who cares .... this coin is and will remain ASIC free !

Care to share the source of your wisdom?

read back a few pages devs has already stated that before

They say that they're working on a new algo, and __IF__ n-scrypt asics materialize, then they will implement new algo. n-scrypt asics are just vaporware, as far as I'm concerned, so I'd be surprised if new algo is introduced before new year...but we shall just have to wait and see.

seriously why is the poll still at the top of the page? is it just staying forever? did original person with rights to change it leave thread?
It is a part of a History. Poll is locked.

hmm, well that's stupid. Just another example of bitcointalk forum's advanced technology Tongue

Haven't been able to find the window's wallet anywhere.  There is source code on Git ?? but how do you compile it?  I even searched for the Mac wallet in hope it might work on a Linux machine but couldn't find it.  What's needed to compile the code on Git ??  Is it Borland C++?  I don't know if my copy from college 20 some odd years ago will compile it or even it that's the way to do it.

pretty sure you can do it with visual studio express 2013 (free), but the shitty part is getting all the boost libraries and stuff to link correctly.

We need a good place to exchange midi and sound files back and forth with everyone so we can collab with everyone easier? I have little time & even less talent but I like the ideas going on here ;]

agree BuckSnot, and I think for the time being mega or dropbox would probably suffice for sharing files, maybe post links on subreddit or here I guess...

It is such a pain in the ass watching this fiasco Sad

As long as the inner market is not interested in vtc the outer world will not be recognizing the great technology behind this project.

I guess the only true thing you can do now is to change the algo and make a dynamic reward.

Today I checked the reward generated by dark coin and it seems that it might be the best solution to go with a variable reward.

DARKCOIN is really impressing, because it did something special. It has been pumped for weeks and months and it sustains it's value really well

why don't you go mine drk then? because if the block reward is changed it's gonna do nothing except cause greater loss of value as people lose confidence in the dev/community of this coin.

Hmm I was looking for the Windows wallet so I can withdraw my PLX that's currently stuck on Bittrex to my wallet. Sad to hear that this coin is basically dead.

I guess I could upload it on Mega or something...I'd rather not see parallax die completely, still seems like there is some interest (and buy orders).

Is the windows wallet available anywhere?

Doesn't appear to be. Dev has obviously abandoned this coin - hasn't been on thread or irc for weeks and website is dead now. Seems like only hope is for someone to rescue...Help us Obi-Wan Kenobi, you're our only hope Tongue

magical TA

that would be all technical analysis, especially for internet coins, since it's just hocus pocus

UPDATES
- Added Mountcoin
- Added note to Boolberry about private GPU miner.
- Added notes to all CryptoNight coins (like Monero)about Claymore GPU miner.

cool, thanks for keeping website up to date btc-mike, it's really a great (and I think unique) resource.

Also, I'm pretty sure minergate only allows you to mine with simpleminer, which is super slow compared to LucasJones or Wolf cpuminer.
4055  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Vertcoin - Beat ASIC | First Scrypt N | First Stealth Address | Largest P2Pool on: June 30, 2014, 06:08:49 PM
my vtc stash few weeks ago worth 1 btc now just half of it... and vtc still the most profitable for dump-dump scenario... grrrrr  "POW-pos style" now....

poor you. We shouldn't change the coin and ruin its future to appease short-sighted dumpers (or wanna be dumpers). You can't change coin fundamentals (i.e. block reward) and expect people to take you seriously. Why would they? Why wouldn't everyone just assume block reward will be changed again in the near future?
4056  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Vertcoin - Beat ASIC | First Scrypt N | First Stealth Address | Largest P2Pool on: June 30, 2014, 05:57:58 PM
VTC looked like a LTC killer for a while but now with all those trolls and devs willing to take them seriously it dosen't look like that anymore.

Good point...

They had nothing to do except keep it like LTC clone but resist asic.

The coin was already popular, most difficult thing was done succesfully already.

Now it is complicated gas factory nobody want anymore.

LTC model showed it was good, why to change fundamentals?

ahh yeah: to become next DRKcoin Wink

i guess the circumstances are different now. it is good that the devs are considering some adjustments. How can you explain to a miner that he should use his energy on a coin that doesn't make him break even?

vtc is still consistently at the top of coinwarz chart, and the most profitable coin to mine (of all algos) according to wafflepool. What are they supposed to do? Magically make vert 10x more profitable to mine than all other coins?
4057  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bounty for open source ByteCoin/Monero GUI on: June 30, 2014, 01:31:27 PM
I have opened translations for anyone who wants to help contributing to the project. If your language is not yet available, but You want it to be implemented, then don't hesitate to notify me here or in PM. Wink

Dutch translation added Smiley

Whoa, that's pretty interesting...  Shocked Tonight, I was dreaming about a Dutch (yeah, exactly that) translation being made. I should become a fortune teller Cheesy

Thanks! Smiley

lololol Jojatekok, I think you need to get outside more man and let your brain get away from wallet software Cheesy
4058  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Vertcoin - Beat ASIC | First Scrypt N | First Stealth Address | Largest P2Pool on: June 30, 2014, 01:30:32 PM
Well the emotions are high but i think VTC should just continue its previous plan.
Stealth and next new ASIC resistant algo.

At least should not drift away much from original principles that it was founded on.

Shit just happens, VTC happens to be at the moment best coin to mine to get BTC and thats it.
There will be another victim soon to this.
And winner is the one that has most real world applications.

And +1 to this  delayed source code publishing idea.

agree 99% (I kind of think delayed source code is unnecessary, what's gonna happen? price is gonna tank? Tongue ). but really, price is dropping because vtc has been the most profitable coin to mine for months now, and it's been mined and dumped, and it's still the most profitable to mine. I think if fundamentals of the coin are messed with (i.e. block reward structure), it's just going to scare people away and the situation will get worse.

How are payment ids generated if I want someone to send me a transaction with a payment id?  Do I just manually generate a 64 character string of random numbers and letters or is there more to it?

Thanks

Edit: Okay, so random 64 char strings don't work... so there is more

Edit2 (yes I'm thinking out loud) : Aw, come on... all the error in the wallet says is "expected 64 character string" .... I'm providing a 64 character string (lowercase alphanumeric), so it should work (according to the error)  Undecided

Edit 3: Okay, so a transaction to myself with 63 "a"s and a 1 went through, but not a transaction with 64 random alphanumeric characters... huh

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa1 does work
a5r6a4w5r9a5r6a4w5r9a5r6a4w5r9a5r6a4w5r9a5r6a4w5r9a5r6a4w5r95555 doesn't work

Edit4: Wait... poloniex's generated payment id only has the letters a-f.  Is this hexadecimal or something?

Edit5: After a couple tests, it looks like it IS hexadecimal!  Scientific method, Success! (I feel so smart  Cheesy ) (Can anyone confirm this?)

you figured it out. it's just 64 character hexadecimal number/string.

is there any way to tell how much of the network hashrate is from cpu miners and how much is from secret nvidia gpu miners? I'd like to try and mine, but I'd at least like to know what I'm up against...am I bringing a knife to a gunfight, or a spoon?
