I am using Awesome miner premium and I really like your program, but I dont know how to connect Innosilicon A4 dominator with managed miner feature.
I was able to get priviliged access to the A4 external miner via Putty and ssh, but this does not allow me to use coin profitability switching feature.
For ASIC's, the only option is to use External Miner. The External Miner feature is connecting to the API of the miner and can do management (if privileged access is enabled, which you have) and also monitoring. Managed Miner is only available on the computer running Awesome Miner or Remote Agent, where Awesome Miner is in full control of starting the mining process. In general, Profit Switching is working for External Miners as well. In you case, what are you trying to profit switch between? Different Scrypt coins/pools? |

Hi, I noticed you just sent me an e-mail about this. It could be that the Remote Agent is downloading the mining software, but it's being removed by some Anti-virus software. Can you provide me the Remote Agent log files via e-mail? The files can be found in the folder %localappdata%\AwesomeMinerService. Thanks! I removed all Av from all systems. For example it will jump to mine neiscrypt start up. And then stop. Same problem here, it happens after updating AM Remote Agents remotely using AM main software. Please, help! I will look into this. But I couldn't reproduce it myself right now. If you look in the log file, what does is state in terms of profitability when it's doing the switching? If you search for "Profitability information" you should see the priorities and profits that Awesome Miner calculated. Priority 0 is highest priority. Does that list match with reality? |

In order for me to see the the exact configuration being used, I need the Remote Agent log file. If you want, you could also try to start the mining software (like the claymore miner or which software you are using) manually from the command line, to see if it works at all. |

Good day Awesome Miner Crew. I'm running a 1PH BTC mine hosted primarily on Nicehash, and I'm about a week away from running up my 9GH Ethereum mine, running on Ethos. I've been following AwesomeMiner for a while now, and I'm excited to look at the possibilities of bringing my hardware under the Awesome miner monitoring umbrella. The big questions we have are around your NextGen profitability switching. I couldn't quite figure out if the site was saying you do support Linux or if you don't. Our Ethereum mine is entirely on Ethos, which is some version of Ubuntu, but we use SGminer, which I believe you can pull API data from, so I would just love some additional data around that. The site said there may be some reduced functionality, so I was hoping to get a clearer picture as to what that was, and if it was important to us. Thanks so much for all you do in the community.
Hi and thanks for your interest in Awesome Miner. The Profit Switching feature is mainly for sgminer/cgminer kind of mining, as this family of mining software provides a very good API making it possible to do profit switching both on local and remote computers. When you are connecting to an external system (your Linux miners, Antminers and other ASIC's) you are using the External Miner feature in Awesome Miner. Linux and Profit Switching is fully supported for External Miners (as long as you run sgminer/cgminer), and Awesome Miner can display all statistics and perform any function supported by the sgminer/cgminer API However, it's not possible to remotely start the mining process or reboot the computer - but restart of the mining process works. Is there any plans to add the API so we can have live stats in Awesome Miner when using it?

Is this one needed if I add support for the latest sgminer-gm, where CryptoNight is included? Sgminer is typically having much better API's and features compared to Claymore's miners, although the Claymore miners are well performing. |

Actually I can control the "server", Start, Stop, Restart, Reboot Computer and etc, but still getting this "Interface offline" error. I get only console view (successfully refreshing), but nothing else.
Excluded firewalls (totally disabled both sides for a few minutes), but still the same.
Any idea?
The "Interface offline" message indicates that the API connection to the Claymore mining instance isn't working. When the Claymore miner is starting, it typically states in the console output that the API port is being opened - can you see this message? Awesome Miner is connecting to the default port for Claymore's miner, and that should be 3333. Is the Remote Monitor provided by the Claymore miner working? |

Or is the web interface the only mobile feature?

There are however development in progress to remove the requirement of this configuration, and make the monitoring available from a public web site - available from any smart phone or computer without any additional configuration. |

There are actually two profit switching features in Awesome Miner (both found in Options dialog, Rules section).
Awesome Profit Switcher is the original one and is doing profit switching within a specific mining process. For example when running sgminer, you typically and to switch between all the algorithms you listed above. Awesome Profit Switcher also works fine with both External Miners and Managed Miners.
However, sgminer doesn't support Zcash mining, and in order to switch between Zcash mining and the algorithms supported by sgminer, the feature "Multi Engine Profit Switching" can be used. This one only works with Managed Miners, and basically allows you to define one Managed Miner for Zcash mining, and another Managed Miner for sgminer. These will be started and stopped based on profitability.
Is there a help section on this second one? I cant find any thing that would walk me through the setup? Also by the way you describe it, it cant switch between ZCE and ZCL? because that is switching between claymore and claymore? Thanks Boysie If you only need to switch between ZEC and ZCL you want to switch between it should work fine with just the standard "Awesome Profit Switching". Both are handled by the same mining software, so no multi-engine features are required. Enable "Awesome Profit Switching" in Options -> Rules, and define a "Pool Group" with the two pools (one for ZEC and one for ZCL) and it should just work. |

hi I just bought an antminer s9 b22 with last firmware, very noisy, does awesome miner configure frequency is working with this batch?
The latest batches of Antminer S9 is running bmminer 2.0 software, and at the moment there is no known way of chaning this frequency. If anyone figures out how to do it over SSH by modifying the bmconfig file or similar, please let me know. |

Want to hear if it is possible for Awesome to work through Hamachi VPN ? If you have several locations with a direct VPN tunnel through Hamachi VPN, would awesome work then and monitor miners on that scope of IP ? Problem for Hamachi is that it distribute an virtual IP and I do not know if Awesome would work through a Virtual IP and see both the local IP subnet and the virtual IP ? Still best software ever  I know that there are several users of Awesome Miner that run it together with Hamachi. Awesome Miner isn't really aware of what's going on at the network level as long as it can connect to the specified IP in some way. I don't know if the exact setup you are looking for here will work, but as long as Hamachi setup eveything correctly on an IP level, Awesome Miner should work. |

Can we get an additional scale in the "Performance History" settings for non SHA of just H/s? This would be useful for monitoring the performance while we are working with Equihash (ZEC, ZCL).

hello Patrik
our mine is in Venezuela and temps here is our main concern because of our warm climate...we run industrial grade ventilation on our warehouse....our miners usually run in the high 60's in the daytime and sometimes peak on the low 70s for a couple of hours on hot days at noon. we would like the protection to trigger in the rare case of a ventilation failure on our warehouse to protect the miners...since we don't have a dedicated staff there all the time.
do you have any more info on the overheat protection rule.....I see it defaults at 96 degrees, it seems quite high for Antminers, antminers are supposed to stop hashing at 80 deg, but i've seen them reach 80 deg and stay at 80 in the past , look like they don't really to stop working when they reach 80 deg with their built in overheat protection in the firmware ....any recommendations?

Hi, The "Device Temperature" trigger should be possible to use in this case. The default value is 96 degrees because a device can also be a GPU when doing GPU mining, and they can run over 90 degree in some cases. For an Antminer, you are fully correct that the device temperature should trigger much earlier, and around 80 is probably a good idea. Please note that you can also change "Temperature source" to "Antminer chip", if you want the trigger to look at the temperatures of the Antminer chips (instead of the PCB temperature). The chip temperatures are typically much higher, about 90 - 100 degrees. In the Summary tab in Awesome Miner, you can also see the current chip temperature. |

I have an issue I hope you can make a suggestion on, I am running a batch file that calls Claymores Zcash Miner. It works great except that I am using "Custom Software Upload" to include the batch file (that I have converted to a .exe) so I can select it from the Awesome Miner Properties>Path
It opens perfectly but as the Miner is starting (because of a delay I suspect from the .exe) it attempts to stop the Miner and restart it. It does not close the miner but actually closes the .exe I guess. Then it restarts the miner and the cycle continues until I have a bunch of open windows.
Is there a way to extend the length of time Awesome Miner waits before attempting to restart?
Awesome Miner is looking at the process ID of the started process and makes sure that process keeps running. When you first launch a batch file, that launches another process for the mining, it may not be possible for Awesome Miner to know if the mining is actually running. What is the reason for having the batch-file? You can specify command line parameters directly for a Managed Miner in the "Command Line" section. |

Is there any way to define a coin in an active way (as the included in the software, that are automatically updated) and not only with a btc per hash estimation or an static value, difficulty?? For any reason in user defined coins program seem to be tied to the defined profitability in the coin tab and when difficult increases and dollars per day value decreases it has a lot of problems to make a pool switch, in my opinion principal weak point of this software.

Awesome Miner needs to get the difficulty from somewhere. By default Awesome Miner get statistics from WhatToMine.com, where you for example will see coins like Zclassic (some Zcash clone?). You can select the Zclassic coin for pools in Awesome Miner, although this coin isn't included in Awesome Miner itself. The included coins will have an icon. In addition to above, you can of course create your own coins and define a static value, difficulty and so on, as you already tried. Some mining software like Cgminer/Sgminer can report current difficulty, and you can configure Awesome Miner to try to get the difficulty from the pool itself while mining (Options dialog -> Coins -> Statistics -> "Revenue calculations bas on network difficulty from: Pool"). Is this the feature you are looking for? |
