A few days ago I caught a member whose account was also created in 2017 in the most common plagiarism Many possible reasons for this. One that comes to my mind instantly is that it is a bought account. They buy for different purposes and unintentionally do these mistakes. Some get caught finally like the one you noticed. |

It's actually funny when I see alot of peeps in the same line of thinking; legendary is merely a rank, just like every other ranks. Yeah? I know for sure that experience matters alot though but, it all depends on Which.
We have alot of members here that are legendaries but they don't even get a glimpse of the cryptographical part of Bitcoin; how trnx are made -- hashing -- encoding --p2p -- merkle tree etc. They don't even feel comfortable when such discussions are made cus they barely have anything to offer right? Now, if we're taking experience to be a guarantee for knowledge (coupled with the stress and time wasted on getting an account grown to such a rank) why are some left behind the normalized technical processes? Was there a time they left and didn't post but still received merits? ( I'm aware that merits were airdropped so, that's not where I'm thriving at)
That'll make you to understand that varieties of things can be done as a contribution for an account growth -- take a look at donators for instance --
Legendary ranks ain't the highest; to be honest, this whole rank stuff is -- to me -- just a mere formality if, and only if the OPs empty. It's sometimes assumed as flatteries.......
To every title, they must be an entitlement. If it's ridiculed, then, the routewise ain't launched wide, wide enough to get a bull's horn stucked.

The purpose of ranks from the forum owner or website owner point of view is mostly to make the rank holder feel proud and thus contribute more on the forum or website. It is obvious on many sites. What exactly is the reason behind ranks on this forum, I cannot predict exactly though. But saying that a legendary rank means nothing will be wrong. These ranks existed before the merit system but have become more relevant after merit system as now ranks have to be earned. It can be and should be made more tough for legendary rank to hold these ranks. |

I guess there should be a separate category for posting memes. Lot of categories spread with scammers, spammers and trolling.
Few categories gives knowledge and healthy discussions. But there is no place for fun.

There are many high rank members who post regular irrespective of their current rank. Even in legendary rank, there are so many members but in your mind there will be few only who post regular and post helpful content for other members. They are not chasing merits. In fact, even if some member is chasing merits, it is not bad , if he is following the forum rules. Some of the signature campaigns require merit to be earned every week to remain in the campaign. That is also a good challenge for legendary members. It will help to distinguish between real legendary members and bought accounts.

In order to reduce or limit the hacking of bitcointalk accounts, more security features can be introduced. I am also adding one suggestion here to get this thread started:
There should be option for high rank members to activate email verification. From time to time, when the member logs in using the username and password, it should send an code to the email to be entered on bitcointalk for login. While login, there should be option to trust the device for some days so that it does not affect user experience.
Same way, other security features can also be implemented. Let us discuss these in this thread.

There are bumping related rules which restrict a user from bumping the sales thread before fixed time. But some members are bypassing this by using alt accounts to bump their threads. They just some question related to the service or leave a positive reply on the thread. Is there any way to put a check on this ?

The concept of crypto is still in early stages. It is possible that exchanges are faking all the data but it does not mean that everything is wrong with crypto and we should ban it. We should remove the problems associated with crypto.
We should not forget that there are so many advantages of crypto as well. It is being used in so many areas and has changed the complete scenario of those areas.

Hello everyone, today i want to tell you about my crypto-depression.
So in 2010 i was working in IT company and my friend from work told me about bitcoin mining.
Next day after this information i register on this forum and start mining coins, everything going perfect but bitcoin price was really low and unstable.
I was investing everything in gpu. Couple times i lost my fund's on scam-exchange but i still had a lot of "mining power".
In 2015 i quited my job and invest my whole savings in bitcoin, in that time i had more than 15 bitcoin's and gpu worth 20k$.
And after 2 or 3 week's everything fucked up, in same time i lost my job and my wife get sicked.
In Nov 2015 i selled everything but still i had -$$$$ to pay, so you probably asking why i made this post?
Now after 6 years i have biggest depression ever, if i only burrow money from somewhere 5 years ago and didnt sell my miners...
I have feelings that i lost my biggest life chance to get really rich and i just want to forget about crypto and work in normal work but it is impossible.
It's hurt much more if you can see that your old crypto-friend's get cars and houses from crypto profit, i wonder if someone have some feeling's as me.
Sorry for your loss. We all had done these type of mistakes where we did not hold the bitcoin or other crypto for long. But there are still many opportunities with crypto. If you buy bitcoin and keep it with you for next 10 years, still there is scope for larger profit. Similar opportunities are there is the filed of other crypto coins and NFTs. |

1) If you sell some service or product, you should also start accepting bitcoins as payment in addition to other payment options. This will encourage people to use bitcoins.
2) You should discuss with your friends about the benefits and limitations of bitcoins. Once they are completely aware about the pros and cons of bitcoins, they can make proper decision regarding using bitcoins.

Why are you so much annoyed with crypto and bitcoin ? Here can be some reasons:
1) You invested in bitcoin or other alt coin and faced losses. Now, this is not the fault of the crypto coin but you need to understand that crypto is not some get rich quick scheme.
2) Another possibility is that you never invested in crypto and now you regret that you can not make so much huge profits like other people. But there is a good news for you. Crypto still has a lot of scope for growth and even if you start investing now, you can make good money.

Bitcoin has been in existence for few years and no one has been been able to breach its security. It is completely safe and if we compare with physical money, it is easy to transfer as well. You can carry large amounts of money with convenience.
Now regarding it being misleading, it is not entirely true. There are some shitcoins which make fake promises and then break the trust of people. People should do own research before investing in any alt coin. But bitcoin in general is just as what it was claimed to be.

The triva questions were from the OpenTriviaQA database by uberspot. How the IQ score worked was that it was impossible to go above 200 or below 0, and it was supposed to be centered around 100, so it got easier to lose points and harder to gain them the higher your IQ got above 100, and vice-versa for below 100. The questions themselves all had the same weight.
