441  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: CEX.IO does't let me to use my wallet on: February 03, 2024, 11:46:21 PM
I hope so. But they also should:
1. inform me about verification estimated time
2. since I haven't been informed about that time - they should answer my questions concerning this issue
It's been how many days since you message them? I knew some exchange do mke like 1-5 days depends on the exchange, but sometimes' the result is within a day.

Just like everyone said, waiting is your top priority. You could follow up them in their social media handles https://www.facebook.com/CEX.IO and https://twitter.com/cex_io, lastly on their support page https://support.cex.io/en/
442  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you a generous gamblers on: February 03, 2024, 11:18:41 PM
I guess that guy found his purpose for sharing his winnings for treating his friends or anyone he likes to treat. As you've said, he's already a pensioner and his children are old as well and probably they're all professionals and that's why he has just found that purpose and that's nice to see he's not selfish and sharing the winnings he get.
I think about it too for an old (assuming because he is a pensioner already) and a person that has nothing to worry about financially related is quite generous not all but there are some when it comes to sharing what they had. While on the other hand, giving should not be always, people are greedy and prone to abuse, i hope the guy won't tolerate people if someone wants to abuse his generosity.
443  Other / Meta / Re: Methods of Signing your BTC address to prove your identity on: February 03, 2024, 11:02:20 PM
I am curious as to the exact process on how to sign/ prove ownership of a BTC address with how I have seen many users do it here in this section:
Think about it, every man who self-proclaimed that they are Satoshi Nakamoto can only be prove by signing a message with those address known to be owned by Satoshi, no ifs and no buts, if they can't then they are just want an attention. It's the same way how that thread works, but since there are already recovery team, it make so much easier to recover an account now than before.

Quote
Would signing that message in any way compomise the security of the private key? What are the drawbacks to doing this for ones security both of their keys and of their location?
Your question to chatgpt is out of this place, you only compromise your private keys if someone knows it other than you, so you need to save it to a secured and safe place. There's also no drawbacks in signing a message, location detection is something like providing a raw data of your latitude and longitude which is no way to be found on your keys.
444  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What remarkable thing have you achieved with the money you won from gambling? on: February 03, 2024, 09:19:28 PM
Never had something bought in material form from gambling so far, because i rarely win, or go home with a win. I usually win then loss Lol. All of them goes to what i eat, i mean just snacks not the one i need.
Because i usually think based on my experience things that i get easily will vanished easily this goes on winning from gambling.
445  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: SlowMist reports 80% of X comments related to phishing software on: February 03, 2024, 04:01:02 PM
Sadly, yes. Previously, i tweeted/posted about the error in blockchain.com page, trustwallet related question, reposted the electrum update, and about the patren spam email, all of these posts mentioning their official handles, and almost 10-20 comments of this posts were from spammers, scammers, you named it. Comments have almost similar pattern like, speaking of problem, then mentioning or using hashtag with the name of the handle who help them, lol. But with the help of X algo, you won't get notified by it and eventually comments will be deleted without doing any kind of reporting to the posts.
446  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you a generous gamblers on: February 03, 2024, 03:47:59 PM
It's pretty common here in my area if someone had a huge win especially in sabong, those who are close friends, well, even those who are not still asked a "balato" term in my area to ask or give gambling wins. Sometimes you will be cringed if someone asked it to the winner, like a poker face asking, but if the bettor insist to give in the first place then nothing's wrong.
In my experienced, i don't usually share it to almost everyone, to my family only, like buying food so everyone will get benefits, giving cash/money is none of the choices.
447  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does Bitcoin still fork and do exchanges still keep the forks? on: February 02, 2024, 11:54:16 PM
I'm also curious if there's ever been a soft fork.

Edit: I know this is not really supposed to be brought up, but it goes hand in hand (hope mods understand) but I'm curious about all this as for say monero and ethereum as well.
What i knew, every proposed bip, once implemented become forks. Most of them are called soft fork. Segwit is one of the major soft work happened in bitcoin, this includes Taproot.
About hard forks, last time i heard about it is the unlimited. What i usually heard now are those altcoins and defi, like wrapped btc in eth, i knew there is one in bsc chain too and etc.
448  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Social media is a breeding ground for scamers, be intelligent while you explore on: February 02, 2024, 08:12:37 PM
I would go further and say not just social media, the whole internet is filled with scams and if you see an article or blog that is praising a project particularly then it can be a paid ad just created to generate traffic and this is done by most preferred news platforms too in the crypto market. When you want to trust your money then you need to do it on your own which needs necessary knowledge which comes from doing the research on our own.
Yes, sometimes people are really skeptical of what strangers offering of sweet words and amount of money that's why it's easy to avoid them in the social media sites. Although there are still few who are greedy who will bite the bait. Next is the videos from youtube and other websites, then blogs. But most of the time came from ads, which sometimes is easily to get lured, search engine ads are the most common newbies getting fooled believing that it's the legit site which is not.
449  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Responsible Gambling Practices Most People Ignore and Sleep on on: February 02, 2024, 07:21:25 PM
I always follow my limits and that saves me from losing too much and of course winning too much too lol.

Although if a huge hit, i stopped and will be back later or tomorrow. Because too much will bee too much, unexpected huge win is good but i stopped after i get it. I always gambling in moderation, loss-chasing is worst and could end up getting a huge loss.
450  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk is Broken for me and I have No idea how to fix it on: February 02, 2024, 06:36:56 PM
Check your installed extension, ad blocker, or browser's default ad blocker setting. Looks like there is something that interfering your browser's interface if not network connection. Hard refresh will work too, but since you already cleared cache then it's already good for that end.
451  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: US wants to know bitcoin electricity usage in the country on: February 02, 2024, 05:40:20 PM
Let us hope these people are not trying to come up with something.
Of course they will after all that mandatory survey made, we just don't know what it is, new tax regulations, new policy might be good, but banning it will be the worst scenario.

This is madness and crazy at the same time. Why they keep torturing Bitcoins like this while there’s a lot of factory that consumes tons of energy and producing waste at the same yet there’s no serious complaint about it despite bunch of global warming advocacy against it.
Don't talk like the survey have already done that it will end up in always as a bad news, it could be just new policy and innovation for good, or just tax related policy.

It is given na kase those business earning 250k above ay taxable, these are brick and mortars. While this new regulation, for online business naman ay may range na 500k above lang ang taxable ng 1%.
In shopee you are required to provide "sworn declaration (SD) of gross remittances" na hindi exceed ng 500k ang annual income mo para ma exempt ka for this, those who have 500k income in previous year ay matic may bawas sayo,at dun din na mag de-declare ng exceed 500k annual income ay obviously may bawas.
Pero in both lazada and shoppe ang deductions lang ay 0.5%, kase half of the gross sales lang ang applicable, e.g. gross sale is 1000, (1000/2) * 0.01 or in simple terms (1000x.005) = P5 withholding tax.
Bakit alam ko, kase seller din ako both lazada and shopee, pero recently not active sa lazada.

About naman sa crypto, it's possible, but not as of now, until walang ganung klaseng regulation sa ibang banse, hindi gagalaw sec at bir diyan. Pero if meron man, sure hindi yun per transaction, kundi as annual income din just like any employees na nag pa-file ng ITR.
453  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can bitcoin be stolen? on: February 02, 2024, 03:45:23 PM
Found and discussed about this guy here before, i remember he even have physical bitcoins which was seized on his apartment/house the day he was arrested. If i remember correctly, it was mentioned he was mentally ill that's why he only sentenced in 1 year in prison, idk if this is true though i didn't research this info, just a memory what discussed/ i read before.

But, yeah, bitcoin can be stolen, social engineering takes a lot of statistics about it in the previous years.
454  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling addiction does more harm than mere financial loss on: February 01, 2024, 11:58:17 PM
Although hardly will you notice anything like mood swing from me. But to easily know an addict, you can noticed the gambler mood just change from good to moody all of a sudden.
This is true, some of them are just quite about it but when someone jokingly approach them related to it or something that will trigger them they usually get mad and even ask for a fight on something. This is always what i observed since we have this kind of area like billiard station where other card games and gambling's activities are also done. And you will really see their reactions especially those person who are in losing streak, huge losses, anything similar.
455  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If a addict lives within, which method would you choose to help them on: February 01, 2024, 11:14:49 PM
Which do you think it's best? Some people do think that been soft and gentle will be more effective and some people think that been harder on them is the real love here, they need to make them stop by force.

What do you think?
I can't probably tell, i'm not an expert/professional person to advise something like that, especially for a gambling "addict" where he is already manipulated by the gambling and money.

If this is a person is a close of mine, probably, a short talk of what he can loss "more" and possible scenarios that will happen once he still won't stop, like providing him the news related to being gambling addict for them to realize what will be his future.
456  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Rigging in sports:My Personal Perspective and discussion finding sus. sports on: February 01, 2024, 11:00:55 PM
I created the thread to raise awareness that match fixing in almost every sport does exist and everyone should be careful while betting on games. It is never a good idea to go all in on a specific game, expecting the team to win by looking at the statistics and past results. You just never know what exactly is going on behind the scenes.

I think this is too much overreacting. Yes, I don't rule out the idea that even in big leagues, game fixing does happen but do you think big leagues will ruin their reputation over game fixing? It can't just be done by a few guys. Besides, their careers are at stake if those players and officials participate in match-fixing. Not worth trying the risks.
It actually happens, few people or fans can probably observed that, sports now are considered as business by others and everything that runs inside is just like employees that needed wages, so in able for them to get profit there are things they need to do.
But well, you can't just accused some game to be rigged and game fixed without strong valid proofs and that's how good these people are running the business.
If kumikita ka naman as a business person need mo talaga makapag register ng business mo no ifs and no buts. Kahit sino pa ang presidente na nakaupo at projects nila, kase nasa batas yan kung hindi eh pwede ka makasuhan no matter what your reason is. Now related naman sa crypto, pwede ka na man mag declare ng kahit anung amount eh, maliban nalang talaga if makipag partner ang mga banks and wallets like SOA for them to check kaya walang takas.
458  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] BitMixList.org - Bitcoin Mixer List on: January 31, 2024, 11:30:38 PM
I just found out this thread because examplens recommended the site on some thread on service discussion and i tried to search the site if available in this forum and i was right.

I suggest to make a repo in github to include the list, and let the community to fork it then just sync it later once there's a new list added/updated. This way it will be distributed how and what are the good and bad service as of the moment, you can link back your site too in the repo so it will get the backlink it needs.
459  Economy / Marketplace / Re: need flash btc for legal work on: January 31, 2024, 11:06:12 PM
but please note I will need to see a demo and won't pay until I receive it first only for the first time so that we can trust each other.
Once is enough for scammers to do their scheme. Do it with middleman/escrow to have safe and secured way of transaction. Else you won't get anything from here and no one will be get fooled, especially for a someone try to lure in telegram way of scamming.
460  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are there Casinos that offer Birthday Bonuses to their users? on: January 31, 2024, 10:42:46 AM
I bet that's only for those casino workers or i say that's possible to any companies relation to their employees.

On the other hand, this kind of bonus say online casinos can be abused if not fully checked and verified such KYC verified first and usually this is exclusively for vip users and high roller users.
