1181  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can gambling and crypto trading be considered as skills with $10k gain a month? on: July 09, 2023, 11:04:42 PM
Trading is a skill, having a good results in every trade is a rare skill. While on the other hand, gambling is a pure luck. Even if you're trying to be specific say sports betting, and always have good result you might have the knowledge regarding the teams and great skills to choose and bet but you can't deny that luck is still on it.
1182  Other / Meta / Re: I got my post deleted immediately, how is that possible? on: July 09, 2023, 10:55:40 PM
Duplicate posts happen when you try to reload the page after you make a post and error occur (error 524 or so). Just check your post in a new tab because its already there and no need to reload the page again and again if error happens.
1183  Other / Meta / Re: Forum having issues? on: July 09, 2023, 03:33:06 PM
I regularly experiencing this since earlier, well even now accessing this page. Also, accessing bitcointalk in another page always load so much time i don't know if this something what happened before that is a server issue and theymos didn't do anything, it just comes back after few hours.

Edit: even posting this i get error 524, but when i check this thread in different tab it successfully posted.
1184  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Latest Survey : Crypto Ownership Sa Pilipinas Bumagsak Mula 50% To 19% on: July 08, 2023, 11:06:40 PM
Survey? How accurate ito lol, kahit nag yung "Half of the Filipino population has owned cryptocurrency" eh ang labo. Kahit pag sama samahin pa coins, pdax at abra users malabong maka 50% ng population total. Anyway, about the decrease naman, that's okay di lang sa mga pinoy nangyari yan lalo na bear season yung previous few months.
1185  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Vanity Bitcoin Address Generator: Personalized Bitcoin Addresses for Branding on: July 08, 2023, 05:48:02 PM
To add to this, and being a privacy freak, I can't conceive the idea of having a unique address that could be easily tied to one person/user. I'm fully aware that all addresses that are posted in here are searchable in some forums tools (such as Ninjastic[1]) but having a unique addresses makes things worse.
There are advantages of using this kind address as well as disadvantages. Say, like me i will only use it for accepting donations on my site, or here i used it on staking address it one of Meta's thread so it's easy to remember and its unique.

But privacy-wise, nah, its just like how bitcoin users use legacy address few years ago when HD wallets are not a thing.
1186  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Bluewallet custodial safety on: July 08, 2023, 03:58:45 PM
What I mean is they know the private key of bitcoin and valut wallet because it's custody right
Bluewallet is open source, open source community and source code audits will eventually find if they save the private keys of their users on any servers they controlled.

And also, don't be confused of custodial and non-custodial wallets. Most or all custodial wallets are centralized it means they have full control of its user's funds, non-custodial wallet is the opposite.

In lightning, when you say custodial, it means that the service say bluewallet, have the control of the node server used in lightning. When you say non-custodial, these are the nodes that its either from the community or the one you self-hosted. But in this case, since bluewallet stops their custodial lightning node, the only thing you can use their wallet's lightning feature is to use other lightning node or your self-hosted node, and it's non-custodial or what they called self-custody Lightning wallets.
1187  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Aptos Foundation Twitter Account Hacked on: July 08, 2023, 03:46:12 PM
That's a common sense, but if the reputation of the owner of the giveaway exceeds the suspicion and there's zero indication that it's a scam then why not jump right in?
In twitter? With a deposit requirement? Or a private key requirement for a "legit" giveaway? Nah, people with that kind of mindset always the first victim of this kind of scheme. Especially for a verified account who does not make giveaways then suddenly created one in skeptical way.
1188  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Bluewallet custodial safety on: July 08, 2023, 03:30:02 PM
Does this mean the bitcoin and vault feature in their wallet is centralized and they can steal the balance still?
The announcement only affects its custodial lightning nodes, although you can still use other or own self-custody nodes to proceed a lightning transaction. This also mean that their main wallet and other features are not affected by that changes.
1189  Other / Meta / Re: Can we distrust the default trust? on: July 08, 2023, 01:41:28 AM
Excuse me, I have a question that has been bothering me since last night. I don't know where this thought came from

What happens if I distrust the default trust?
Yes, nothing, you just distrust it.

Can I add the same person to the untrusted list? does it have any effect?
It's still has the same effect, distrusting a user means you distrust him/er regardless how many times you put the same username with a tilde.
1190  Local / Pilipinas / Re: [Question]Wala ba magiging problema kung gagamit ng mixer sa coins.ph at gcash on: July 07, 2023, 11:27:34 PM
Wag mo na itry if you're planning mag direct from mixer to your coins account, pwede pa if mixer to your non-custodial wallet then coins account. The same sa gambling funds.

Ika nga "prevention is better than cure" so be wary trying risky things lalo na gamit ang mga centralized platforms.
1191  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Aptos Foundation Twitter Account Hacked on: July 07, 2023, 11:20:33 PM
Twitter giveaways should always be taken with a grain of salt even its an official account especially if it needs deposit for a giveaway lmao. This kind of issue is not new and already exists since 2 years ago or so. People should really learn these things already.
1192  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: stake.com is a scam , the use sensors to manipulate the bets. nothing fair on: July 07, 2023, 11:05:17 PM
I never heard this permissions on other users using Stake before, maybe a new feature, but surely looks like sensors have different ways to sense any activity you do in browsers. Yeah, sensors are a helpful use in gaming and VR but in gambling? It will probably raise an red flag issue.
1193  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin whales took high risks, while studying price movement in the past on: July 07, 2023, 10:40:18 PM
If i knew bitcoin that time with enough money to spare i will probably do the same. But unfortunately, i'm still a student only online gaming and friends are my only hobbies so there's no way i will get introduced on such technology unless someone do it, but nah.
1194  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I know it's a bit random on: July 07, 2023, 10:29:55 PM
I'll still give a 40 mins a longer wait, since im not always in rush (well, most of the time). Usually i give my transaction 2-3 hours of waiting since i only do 5-10 sat/vb when making a transaction.
1195  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Housebets.io scammed me and many others on: July 06, 2023, 11:57:57 PM
Let's ignore the above, why didn't you report the bug to housebets.io? Didn't you think it is risky to continue playing on a casino that has such a critical bug?
This. He could have avoided all the trouble if it was announced to the casino team, but didn't.
Now about the bug, it is true that OP abused and took advantage the bug which is against the TOS of every services in the internet and subject for ban/being restricted.
1196  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Without money, the knowledge is a waste on: July 06, 2023, 11:14:42 PM
You might have a point, but that's not what always happened. Sometimes you don't need to BUY bitcoin in order to have it, you can work and earn by the company/service paying bitcoin, its like what signature campaigns do

It's the same of having an advocacy of spreading bitcoin knowledge, you write a book on it and accept bitcoin as payment in order to be have it.
1197  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why I Can't Stand POS for Bitcoin on: July 06, 2023, 11:02:36 PM
Its very highly unlikely bitcoin will proceed to PoS. ETH was criticized and even a bit considered as securities by US SEC because of this move.
1198  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Warning: sigft.com is a scam website that steals your crypto on: July 06, 2023, 06:28:32 PM
Newbies should really be careful choosing exchanges to use to, a simple deposit will be fucked later if you chose a scam one without a proper research or maybe even a simple research will really help.

I registered a random email, with a random 6 digit verification code and it works, means the site is an obvious fucked up. Also, the site uses a common scam exchange. How unfortunate someone got scammed again.
1199  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Internet Apocalypse, Handa kaba? on: July 05, 2023, 11:56:33 PM
That's okay you, don't need to bother and think like paranoid what will happened next few decades, just live the life today at pano mabuhay at present.

Well, about the news, lahat ata ng induatry needs na ng internet, both government, banks and private system kaya daming maaapektuhan at  baldado lahat ng transactions yan.
1200  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why are you not hodling on: July 05, 2023, 11:47:36 PM
to hold bitcoin at its current price is ridiculous. because bitcoin price has been trying to go up.
right now the best chance is to wait and see. because it can come back down.  Grin
Yeah, the same mindset why most people regret later after bitcoin reach another milestone.
Bitcoin price doesn't look to go down now and it's a good time to take risks.
