1441  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: I have Traveled on all Thailand and Spending only Crypto! on: April 29, 2023, 11:41:20 PM
Technically you're not spending only crypto since you just convert it to cash and used it whatever you did.

And, what's the link for?
1442  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: low-cost hardware wallet for less than 10 dollars on: April 29, 2023, 10:45:28 PM
I am not acquainted with Jade wallet, and this is my first encounter with it. I am intrigued to know how you stumbled upon this wallet and what measures you have taken to ensure its safety as a hardware wallet. Given the wallet's low price, I am concerned about its security.
In as much as I am looking to get a hardware wallet for myself at a cheaper rate, I should also exercise caution because doing so usually comes with a greater risk. As such, even if I bookmark this, I will probably wait for a review from one or two trustees, not any reviews online because they can probably be paid reviews, and detailed information regarding how secured the wallet is.

The firmware that will be used in this DIY HW wallet is from Blockstream jade hardware wallet itself. Blockstream is the developer of Blockstream wallet, jade HW wallet, Blockstream explorer, the bitcoin liquid and the devs who acquire/continuing the development of GreenAddress wallet.

It's much more technical than other existing HW wallets and more interesting to be exact as personal project. Knowing the source code of the firmware is open source and used the same on its official jade HW wallet i assumed this is audited by other developers so it's i guess its safe, only if followed the correct instructions since its more in technicality and NOT a newbie friendly.
1443  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Kucoin Twitter account hacked, $22k lost on: April 29, 2023, 10:19:24 PM
My apologies but how did the kucoin twitter account hack allow access to the exchange fund? Does this make a difference to everyone who has a Twitter account and cryptocurrency?
Its not the exchange that got hacked, but Kucoin Twitter account that attacker then used to share phishing link.
To be precise, kucoin twitter was hacked and tweet a fake giveaway scam that leads by accessing the phishing site and got scammed. So no exchange was hacked particularly.

It doesn't mention how the scam happened particularly if its the users send the funds particularly from their kucoin accounts or the scammers/hackers login to their users' account and withdraws their assets. If its the latter, kucoin should implement another security that it disabled from withdrawing in 24 hours after logging in a new device, or needs a sms, email and 2fa verification for withdrawals using a new logged in device.

1445  Local / Pamilihan / Re: PAG ACCESS NG COINS WALLET NG DI NAKA REHISTRO ANG SIM CARD. on: April 28, 2023, 11:55:26 PM

1446  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What will a mixer do under the mentioned situation? on: April 28, 2023, 11:35:37 PM
Authorities doesn't even care when an exchange is hacked or mandate every exchange to block the address track the hackers' address once it deposit to an specific exchange. Exchanges do it by themselves for the community and at least help the victims to bring the money back to hacked exchange.

How much more to mixers where they are considered as "illegal" by the authorities, as if mixers will respond as well. Also i dont even think mixers follow the requests of exchange to block  the deposit from hacked address because it will contradict the sole purpose of owning a mixer business.
1447  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Do u think that the body governing need to re-strategize ? on: April 28, 2023, 03:16:04 PM
It's like you are saying that every country needs to accept bitcoin like its one of their legal tender which is really not possible in any timeline of its existence. Well, maybe but i still doubt it will happen. If you are talking about implementing CBDC then its possible as China started it already.
1448  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Please check your binance address on: April 28, 2023, 08:42:15 AM
Here[1] is the earlier discussion thread of this topic. Also, the expiration of TRX address has been announced as well on different email.

If they reuse the old address, that is risky and perhaps lose their coins.
It will not get lost, it won't just reflect automatically and need manual actions to reflect it on the account's balance.

1449  Other / Meta / Re: Copy button next to content in code command on: April 27, 2023, 03:08:57 PM
Sounds easy right? But that would be a hell in backend making a js script for that i assume, knowing you need add identifier for every code tags in the content.
I say it's possible but not worth the time, if its the only use case for creating that.
1450  Other / Meta / Re: Why did moderator moved my topic to off-topic? on: April 27, 2023, 12:26:10 PM
Is that the reason it was not moved to a board that crypto users are visiting than to move it to off-topic where trash posts belong? Even if I am wrong, I do not think moderators did the right thing either.
Probably yes, and probably it has the same reasons on other threads that were moved from other boards to the same board (off-topic). Just like the reply above, you can move it again to other board you think it suits and feel free to edit the content or subject for it to not getting moved again to off-topic board.
1451  Other / Meta / Re: Why did moderator moved my topic to off-topic? on: April 27, 2023, 10:59:58 AM
Simply because it's off topic. It doesn't discuss anything about bitcoin topics or even mentioning that it should be for bitcoin users or so.
1452  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: I was scammed to invest and left with a watch only wallet on: April 27, 2023, 05:33:32 AM
What do you mean? What exactly did happen? Can you add more about your issue?

Do you mean that you buy BTC on Forex but you can't able to withdraw because it's just a watch-only wallet just like on PayPal where you can buy BTC but can't able to transfer or withdraw?
I remember the days of scammers wants to offer their victim of huge investments  profit that, by letting their victims create a new wallet say blockchain.com wallet and give the login details to the scammer as trading expert/broker or whatever they introduced by themselves to their victims. Then this scammer will import a watch-only address (with balance that keep updating/increasing every time) to the account of their victims saying that its the profit of their investments. I don't know the issue of OP but this is what i remember when i see a scammed user from watch-only address.

@OP unfortunately, you cannot do anything to that watch-only address, simply just serve this as expensive lesson to you that when it comes to investments, when it comes a too good to be true offer, it is scam.
1453  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bybit to introduce mandatory KYC requirements starting May 8 on: April 26, 2023, 11:50:46 PM
I dont know how long kucoin as my current exchange will ask kyc as mandatory to its users too.
They're the only survivor on these regulations that's still allowing no kyc and allowing little limits to those customers that opt not to send docs to them. Maybe by the next bull run, the eyes of these regulators will be on them.
Yeah, as long as kucoin wont expand to other countries and keep restricting users who are living on these countries, i guess its still safe. And i don't think i will jump to another exchange once they require KYC since only new exchange do a non-kyc required nowadays.
1454  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Does anyone know BXONE ? Need help : on: April 26, 2023, 11:39:24 PM
Exchanges that are not listed on coinmarketcap are not to be trusted, im not saying that you should trust exchanges that are listed on cmc either.
You shouldn't have said the bolded part then, or else, newbies are newbies. They can easily be misled and manipulated. We need to carefully guide and protect newbies in the crypto space where possible.
Well, i've been a newbie too and that's not how i read a sentence and understand a point of view. The whole point i said is clear as sky.
I don't think newbies now have lesser thoughts and dumb enough than before(us) not to understand the whole point that "if an exchange is not listed on cmc or cmc-like exchange listing sites then how they will trust completely a random site then" specially a new one.
1455  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bybit to introduce mandatory KYC requirements starting May 8 on: April 26, 2023, 10:54:14 PM
Probably because of regulatory requirements required to them. Fair enough though its been how many years they have that XX minimum withdrawals to non-kyc verified accounts. They are getting bigger and trying to expand more users and that's the effect of it. I dont know how long kucoin as my current exchange will ask kyc as mandatory to its users too.
1456  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Does anyone know BXONE ? Need help : on: April 26, 2023, 10:43:33 PM
Exchanges that are not listed on coinmarketcap are not to be trusted, im not saying that you should trust exchanges that are listed on cmc either.
Im saying at least they are known to other cmc or cmc-like exchange listing sites. I don't know if this is a legit question or just a marketing gimmick but im very sketchy to it and your deposit is in bad hands.
1457  Other / Meta / Re: Newbie are wearing avatar in their accounts on: April 26, 2023, 11:22:51 AM
All Id's which have been created before the introduction of merit system. All the old Id's that are currently active will get all the benefits that were available 5 years ago??
For the merit system and new rank features, yes, this includes the new avatar features, (well, it's old already actually) which is only for full members above.
1458  Other / Meta / Re: Newbie are wearing avatar in their accounts on: April 26, 2023, 09:43:41 AM
It's because they're an old newbie, AFAIK back in the days a newbie can wear an avatar, before a big change when merit requirement implemented in this forum.
No, it's way back then before merit system got added. Merit system is just about 5 years old. The wearing of avatar to newbies were change sometime when the forum was hacked, and the loophole when uploading an avatar were used[1], or maybe way older than the hack incident.

1459  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC treasure hunt on: April 25, 2023, 11:25:26 PM
Well, there's no even a single clue written in that tweet besides of announcing it written on bitcoin magazine. No proof of what wallet address, signed message, or even just cut/crop screenshots of proof that the address is existing with a balance on it.

Besides that anyone can announce that they have the same treasure hunt with XX BTC on any book, magazine, pdf, and you need to buy it first lol. Well, just for promotions.
1460  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Electrum not opening on: April 25, 2023, 09:58:52 PM
I have experienced this kind of error before since i have a trust issue on going of updating eventually due to its past incidents. What i did is just install the other newest version and it works, i just copy as backups in the appdata folder to avoid reentering seeds or PK.
