@ -ck i think you should up your % of a block find from 1% to minimum 2.5% i wouldnt mind you getting $3k of my $120k block i find ill still solo here if you upped the anty. Just saying Thanks for the support. As with the last halving, I was planning on proportionately increasing the fee to 2% with the next halving.

Was he/she mining with USB BTC sticks maybe connected to Raspberry Pi I thought ckpool dont allow those That's too big to be USB sticks, but no, I don't allow GPU miners and below, but then I can't really enforce whatever moronic things people do.

I don't know what better improvements could stratum have, is the Slush v2 proposal worth it?
To be honest, nothing much, and not really... Most of the issues with Stratum are really more about the syntax, and order of messaging, and so on. It's efficient enough for any sized mining, and having it in readable text is always going to be more useful than binary. The gains from binary communications really aren't worth it as stratum just doesn't use much bandwidth at all. There's no meaningful improvement in V2 with anonymity, efficiency, decentralisation, or anything really, but I didn't want to discourage development. However I doubt I'll ever "upgrade" to V2, and don't really see much point for anyone else doing it. The pool-client relationship is here to stay as is. People are tied to a pool, they don't want insane complexity.

Every bit's appreciated, but we really need more like 2EH.
So 2 blocks in one week with (less than) 2PH and then even less than 1PH... or am I wrong? At least that's what https://miningpoolstats.stream/bitcoin reported anyway... Mining difficulty is now lightyears higher than it was back then, and the pool was bigger for periods during (the now defunct) halongmining burn in.

That's my question. I read through every post of this thread and the glory days of finding 2 blocks in a day. Why would so many people leave this pool for another when they are losing money with them?
Most people are obsessed with regular payments, and truth be told if a pool goes a long time without finding a block and the difficulty keeps rising, then you are losing money on that pool, even if it has no fee. Pools need to be above a minimum size to be feasible, and this pool has fallen below that size. Once it's below a certain size, more and more people leave it. Conversely when a pool is above a certain size, more and more people join it. It's a vicious cycle that once you're beyond the event horizon there's nothing you can do. Advertising and getting in early and fancy features are the only thing that attract miners when establishing a base, and this pool has none of those. It missed its chance of becoming big a long time ago, and it's not likely to ever recover now. I'm keeping it running as a service to the community now, but I don't have much hope for its future.

Can't believe I typo'd that tweet was pretty gold imo.
Could have been worse. You could have recommended a different pool entirely

And what happens after halving? Will Bitcoin get cheaper? Or more expensive? How will this affect the complexity of the network? Many questions, few answers)
Difficulty will fall for a bit and then eventually rise back to where it was, and then keep rising. The value of bitcoin people will tell you all sorts of things about, but in my opinion the two are not linked in any way, and any associations people have made with bitcoin value and halving is just associating coincidental movements. I believe the value is dissociated and unrelated.

Hi all. As part of my spring cleaning I will be restarting this server as well in an hour to freshen things up a little. Downtime should be negligible.
Restart completed uneventfully. Mine on.

Hi all. It's time to freshen things up a little on the server, so I will be restarting the pool in an hour. Downtime should hopefully be negligible.

Hello all... I'm hoping someone can help me out here. I just set up a small ttbit miner on the pool, however - when I try to view statistics I'm getting a 404 not found error. The miner is connected and running fine - I just can't get to my stats. Has anyone experienced this problem before? and if you have solved the problem how did you do it? Thanks in advance...
You probably haven't even submitted a single share if it's a very small miner. Alternatively you're mining at the wrong pool (ckpool.org). I just verified that I'm mining on the correct pool (solo.ckpool.org) and it looks like I have submitted at least one share as I can see a best share of 6.4K in the cgminer software. Not exactly sure what the problem is here. You haven't submitted a single share. They start at 10k. It's exactly the problem I told you it was.

Hi, Pointing an asicminer towards this "pool" we are told to use solo.ckpool.org:3335 ... Coming from Denmark, I'm noticing "Pick the server nearest you - Germany: mine to de.ckpool.org:3333" which makes me think that I should do this. But, am I getting this all wrong or do I just config my miner like this: de.ckpool.org:3335 ?? Kind Regards, Dan http://solo.ckpool.org
Configuration: Just point your miner to: stratum+tcp://solo.ckpool.org:3333 or port 443 Asicminer tube/prisma owners need to point to a special proxy at solo.ckpool.org:3335 If you use an incompatible rental service that refuses to work on port 3333 try port 4334
Set your username to your btcaddress with any or even no worker extension, and any password. eg: cgminer -o stratum+tcp://solo.ckpool.org:3333 -u 1PKN98VN2z5gwSGZvGKS2bj8aADZBkyhkZ.0 -p x If you enter an invalid address you will be rejected
Pick the server nearest you! Server locations: US Mid: mine to solo.ckpool.org:3333 Germany: mine to de.ckpool.org:3333
Pool code and pool operated and created by Con Kolivas, creator of cgminer and ckpool.
The asicminer proxy is ONLY at solo.ckpool.org:3335, it has no de server.

Hope this pool can update its interfaces and stats at some point, depending on the port your hashing on stats are not displayed for 4334 and is for 3333 among the other ports also doing the same. Not able to set static diff, could use some TLC on updates.
Not a chance. You want fancy shit interfaces, look elsewhere. This pool is in its dying stages and the last thing on earth I'm going to do is do an expensive fancy shit interface update for absolutely fucking nothing. The last 250+ block solvers didn't seem to care.

Well I hope that lucky lightening strikes again here
By the way, lightening is the phenomenon where the baby's head engages during pregnancy usually around 36 weeks. Lightning is what you want.

nice! congrats to whoever it was!
and whoever it was, they are 11.9 PH so nice!
No, that was the one rental. You see the stats I posted showed the hashrate of the block-winning user.
