If I would have requested 1.5 BTC he would have just request 0.75 BTC as collateral, most loans work that way they require collateral.
But collateral would be something else which is tangible and different from the item being borrowed - like shares which is worth the btc borrowed or even fiat for example. It's like asking for a $10k loan from the bank and using half of it as collateral for example. It wouldn't stop the borrower from running (as he's still up half assuming that he got his loan first) nor help in the interest department (as he'll have to borrow twice as much). |

Why did you borrow 3 BTC and sent 1.5 BTC as collateral? Wouldn't just borrowing 1.5BTC instead work? Also, this. Why didn't you use a third party escrow? Unless someone has phenomenal Trust, never get a loan from AND send collateral to them. This has been covered many times.

Pretty sure you'll still have a pretty solid escrow customer base, Dabs. As much as John seems like a genuine guy, and many are glad that he's returned, prolonged unannounced absences are bad for business in this line of work. Oh, I think it's sort of a running joke between me and him (actually, between him and everyone else). I've got a handful right now, but nowhere near 100 BTC. Yep, I welcome competition (especially when I'm still on hiatus mode right now) seeing that my original and current intention of being an escrow is to facilitate trade and to boost bitcoin in overall and not to turn a profit. When bitcoin eventually hits higher highs that'll be my best reward/profit. |

Well truly DefaultTrust defaults to trust depth 2 and you are on DefaultTrust in the 2nd trust level, so in that sense, yes, you are. could someone link this default trust article? I don't understand All the people on this list will show up as "Trusted Feedback" when you look at other people's trust ratings. In general most people just trust DefaultTrust to give accurate ratings and it usually does, but you can edit your own trust list. Also, people who trust you will also trust the people you trust assuming they have a trust depth of 2. Why John K is still in this list because he is absent for 3 months with 100 btc Apparently he's having real life issues, however that's a good question. He's under the trust list of 4 people on DefaultTrust & he's on DefaultTrust himself so you'd have to contact theymos to remove him from DefaultTrust & his personal trust list, and the remaining 3 people. PS: I'm back and cleared my stuff!  Still needed?

I have never ever scammed anyone nor i lied to anybody but any user can just come here, register and leave me a negative feedback for nothing and without any backing. I have also received a negative feedback from the real scammers because i confronted them about their scam?! WTF! My reputation has been damaged because of this and i don't want to open new account i want to clear my name! I have tried contacting scammers but no reply. What shall i do in this case? any help from mods??
Hey! (I already said hi to Jonh K lol) Untrusted feedback means nothing. You are still showing to me as 0 trust, not negative trust. Take a look at my trust rating and see the negative feedback I have been left by untrusted members. They are untrusted for a reason. They could make a hundred fake accounts in an hour. Words of wisdom here. TL;DR: Your rep hasn't been damaged in any way if someone random decides to give you a negative feedback; it has to be someone in the WoT. |

BTW, it states clearly that 'These ratings are from people who are not in your trust network. They may be totally inaccurate.'. That's the entire point here of having a WoT. I second that. Negative trust means nothing unless it's from someone you trust directly. (or indirectly?)

It hasn't been damaged from my perspective. None of those are in my trust list or left any reference links. I second that. Negative trust means nothing unless it's from someone you trust directly. (or indirectly?) |
