I think it's more like we need a mainstream mag to explain to people that "FTX", "Celsius" and all the other scam platforms are NOT all of crypto and it can be safe etc.

Many people have been scared off due to the FTX meltdown and ensuing media stupidity, so I think it's gonna take a bit longer to pick up steam with newbies...

This is really what drives/makes me think hard lately, the "Great Wealth Transfer"... https://www.cnbc.com/2022/10/17/how-to-navigate-the-great-wealth-transfer-according-to-top-advisors.html

Kinda makes me wonder if Morgan silver dollars are gonna be really cheap in the next few years lol. Grin

You say his bets were made seconds prior to pay out while live betting?
Anyone who bets live knows that live bets are not accepted right away and normally take 10 seconds or even longer to have a live bet accepted. So you're saying he placed a wager while the odds were up, had to wait 10 or more seconds for the bet to be accepted and in that time your lines and odds were still clearly available if the bet got accepted. If the "result was known" don't you think the odds would not be available anymore even before he places the wager and between the time he places the wager and the 10 or more seconds it takes for a bet to be accepted?

What defines late betting? is it betting when a result is known? or is it betting 5 seconds before odds are removed? 10 seconds before odds are removed? 30 seconds prior?...because odds are removed numerous times during a match for many reasons, ie. A goal, a foul, a penalty, a timeout and many other reasons. So what is the definition? is it just betting when a result is known? I am genuinely curious.

Hmm.. From your post history, you seem to be yet another disgruntled betcoin user... https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=3501200;sa=showPosts

Listen the f up people - anytime you deposit funds to any gambling site, you are taking risks beyond your control. Let this be a lesson to all gamblers IMO....

Not your keys, not your coins. Keep putting your BTC into gambling sites and this is what you risk, even if you are "innocent"...

Another thing, if you have a gambling addiction, get some fuckin help please... Roll Eyes

I would just tag him as a bought account if he does not come here to answer myself, I'm sure someone left something on this account by now anyways..
448  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Betcoin permanently suspended my account and withholding my $$$ on: April 21, 2023, 11:57:44 PM
Hi everyone, Betcoin has permanently suspended my account and withholding all of my winnings from me. I am not sure what steps to take or who to talk to in order to get this resolved. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Here's the jist of my story:
I've wagered with Betcoin for a couple of months now. I got fully limited so I could only wager about $1 a few days ago so I went to withdraw my funds (approx .213 btc), I initially only deposited .03 btc 2+ months ago. After waiting a few days with no word on my withdrawal I reached out to chat help, they had me open a support ticket which I did and then followed the verification link to verify my account with my drivers license and selfie. A few hours passed and then all of a sudden I was no longer able to access my account or the site. I reached out via email and got this in response, see email below. I have no idea how I would know the result of a bet and I emailed them back telling them I would be 100% cooperative as I know I have not done anything illegal or tried to place bets somehow knowing the result. I asked them to provide me with those bets/games they are referring too. This seems incredibly unethical to withhold all of my winnings and to only offer my deposit back as a "courtesy" when I know and can truly say on my sons life I did nothing wrong here.

"Hello, your account was permanently suspended, pertaining to our terms
of service regarding late betting.
The investigation is ongoing, but we have been able to determine that
this is not an isolated incident, as the following bets were placed
after the result was known:
3042789641 3042790440 3042790941 3042791280
As a 1-time courtesy, we will return your deposit. Do not create any
additional accounts or they will be closed and funds withheld, including
deposit.
Please provide a Bitcoin address.

Regards,
Security"

What was your actual reply to them? Pro Tip: Be super nice. It gets you farther than you think even if you are pissed off...

I mean, I guess the fact you can at least get your deposit back is something but I hear your frustration, it's one reason I gave up gambling many many years ago after primedice was shut off to usa IP's...

I guess i'd wait and see what they reply with and let us know. Patience is a virtue, especially amongst bitcoiners. Grin

It seems to me.. and yeah I am pulling this out of my ass, somewhat, that they might be being lenient with him as a kind of message to everyone else.. that there "can be leniency" when "all the funds" (if that is the case?) are recovered... . which is kind of bullshit, because the recovery of the funds went to the US Govt. and not to the victims in which the coins had been stolen (skimmed) from the then silk road users.. or maybe the silk road enterprise might have been the proper owner of those coins that Loaded had skimmed from the bugs in the silk-road user-interface?

Well they said since SR was a criminal market, they owned all the btc basically ... Roll Eyes

Anyhow, here is why he really got a lenient sentence..

(Really have to wonder why they took so long to get any info about him from here, unless he used vpn on the forum all that time, or maybe admin never kept the logs that long, no idea)...

Sounds a bit like yogg really, loner, autistic etc... but this guy gave it all up and pled guilty, which was from a legal standpoint very smart in getting such a lenient sentence...

I'm still not convinced that yogg will get any kind of sentence. I mean, this guy was hunted down for stealing Silk Road bitcoins, which the government believed was theirs. I don't see them going after a random dude for stealing coins from people they consider "strangers".

That was basically my point of posting that. Look, Tim filmore is still running around claiming to have Titan 2FA Coins too, but nobody is getting anything from him as usual either... Fuckin scammers can go rot in hell... Tongue

I have to agree with you on this...its a shame these people are not behind pars for their actions.

It will only further encourage others who have malice in their dark hearts to follow their lead.

I do hope our hobby is not totally ruined and that someday it will bounce back to the heydays of the past.

456  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Longterm physical crypto collectors DOOMED because of Quantum-Computing? on: April 16, 2023, 03:45:50 PM
I think I did indeed miss your point previously, lol. Sorry, that's truely some interesting insight!
So, does that mean these transactions are encoded differently, not sha256 hashed?

No, they are Sha-256 hashed & encrypted with senders private key, then ultimately verified by the miner picking up the tx in a block iirc.

I agree with OG, software updates should keep things safe regarding the network, but ofc, shit happens... Huh

Fun discussion either way. Wink
457  Economy / Collectibles / Re: My Cold Keys Just Got Swiped! All Cold Cuntz!! on: April 13, 2023, 12:14:15 AM
So much for only the halvings and that expensive shredder - no coldkeys are safe - peel peel peel. It was told to me that all the coldkeys produced had around 20 or 25 btc all together. That’s ALOT of shit to scam! Hopefully someone in or near France can get info for us victims on pressing charges or starting a class action lawsuit

I've already tried, it's about impossible. Plus, there are no assets to attain or anything.... He owns nothing, and he gambles away ever satoshi he swipes. Can't get blood out of a stone, and if you know someone in France that can speak fluent french to raise a complaint, good luck - I've already tried every avenue I have personally which was about 3 people, and it's damn near impossible from what I'm told. Plus, he's now "handicapped" so is on the dole... mentally handicapped people in any country are treated differently, as we all know.

I wanted to respond in Krogo’s thread about what to do with the victim funds as I’ve been a little biased towards refunding victims but I had a thought this morning and I saw it was locked after some criticism. There’s a good chance that Yogg is using an alt and likely including himself in the “victims” fund as a way to further get paid from this scam. For this reason, I’m not against trying to sue him with the funds. I have no skin in the game so it doesn’t matter to me personally what happens with the funds, but I’ve given reasons why he shouldn’t be sued, so I thought I’d present a reason why he should be.

Nah, I doubt it. he told me after the scam started that he looked at the forum once without logging in. Turns out, this is why he never replied to PM's as well, he hated this forum, and realized it was fucking him up like Vod perhaps... I don't think he's that smart personally, from what I'm told he just keeps finding different key files on his laptop ... I have no idea for what sets or anything but I know he is showing zero remorse and bragging about gambling all night after swiping the playtoshi's... I mean who even does that? Admits their crime and what they did with it? Huh   (Not to me, but another person I know who knows him)...  IDK.  I give up at this point but someday I will see him again...  Lips sealed

Anyone ever heard of this drug? I have to think it's what happened to him, nothing else makes sense to me and from what I knew of him...

https://www.thecut.com/2016/05/users-of-a-popular-antipsychotic-are-gambling-uncontrollably.html

he WAS on Effexor for some time before I helped him revive the project , then I helped him get off it... Then, apparently he went back on it.. and now here we are... Huh

458  Economy / Goods / Re: The Antique Bazaar: Crypto-Friendly Marketplace for Antique Finds on: April 10, 2023, 02:32:26 AM
This is interesting

With a google search there are a lot of Afrika Korps rings from the 1940's all very different .
Some look like DIY rings others more professionally done. Was there an official Nazi issued ring?

I see on the image in this link there is one shown just like the OP's

https://commons.m.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Afrika_Korps_rings.JPG

Good find Alouain... I have to wonder now if it was part of a larger set as you are right, that ring looks a heck of a lot like OP's. But again, what is it made of, OP, any kind of provenance etc?

If OP was serious, he'd be back to answer, but I am now wondering if this was just another scam attempt... Huh
459  Economy / Collectibles / Re: POLL- What to do with auction proceeds for ScamKey victims on: April 10, 2023, 01:49:59 AM
I think we are getting way off base. This auction was  to refund those affected by this scamming douchebag. That was the intent and that’s what should be done. I am all for starting a new auction with the intent of the proceeds to seek prosecution, or whatever means best suited to make him be held responsible. At this point though, this is getting ridiculous. People bid with the understanding that the proceeds would go to the victims.

I agree. but as the victim list keeps expanding daily, how do we best go about this?

I lost 2 x halving sets. Did I take compensation from Cygan? No.

So...

Yes, we are not going to get him in jail. He's handicapped by french standards... Roll Eyes

BTC - Pay cygan back, he should stop refunding, it's just going to be way too much right now that the hist keys have been swept the past week...

Next, pay back anyone who didn't seek compensation, then TRY and refund ppl who can prove they peeled I guess, but I don't think it will ever be enough - Dreams of getting paid for premiums lost will never happen ofc, it' not even close to the amount destroyed. Huh

This "Payback" shit out of cygans pocket cannot go on - Now that the history series have been swept, just think about all the people who bougth them off twitter and have no access or knowledge of this forum. That's why fuckface got so much btc IMO.

Anyhow, I digress... I'm sick of this terrible Tv show, just kill it with 🔥 somehow. He will run out of keys and then be homeless I'm sure... He gambles all this btc away, I think he's on that anti-depressant that turns people into major gambling addicts TBH... I know of no other reason why he is doing this... Huh

460  Economy / Collectibles / Re: POLL- What to do with auction proceeds for ScamKey victims on: April 09, 2023, 12:20:39 PM
who did he call this time?

looking at one persons set that said theirs was swept, it looks like a lot were swept. It looks like he swept some one by one to quite a few seqwit addresses then merged them, then sent them elsewhere as well - peel the fucking cards people

https://mempool.space/address/bc1qcjsffqpgwvmhfzqp97v2qmccrtf0203x78g402

Nobody - Another user noticed some of his cards had been swept just yesterday as we were talking on the phone. I'm not going to say who it was, out of respect for their night of having to peel 50+ cards... Sad

Edit - I don't know how much he lost either, but quite a bit... Only because ... Timezones Tongue
