441  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why gambling beginners must not joke with casino announcement on: September 16, 2023, 01:23:15 AM
New casinos are like new altcoins.

They attract people with high bonuses and low house edge but many are there just to scam you because they know it's easier than running a legit project and slowly going up the ladder. They'd rather scam the first few clients and take $10k with no effort than wait years to earn a million.
They're much more riskier because you don't get any token in return unlike altcoins. I think that the reason that they would rather scam people rather than run a legitimate gambling business is because it's easier to maintain building new scams compared to maintain a legitimate gambling business, that's the only reason why they do it, easy money over hard work.
442  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lotteries and possibility vs. probability on: September 15, 2023, 02:10:57 PM
I hard a real life experiences pf someone who won the Americans lottery when I was a little young but since then I haven't hard of anyone that hit such jackpot again in my region,  but on a number of occasions,  I ha e seen gambler winning lotteries in online casinos where they are lucky to win a small amount and I haven't seen anyone that have really won a life-changing jackpot just like I experience in my early life with American lottery which seems to be the most popular offline lottery here.
That's because lottery is a difficult gamble, depending on how many numbers are needed to hit the jackpot the probability of hitting it grows bigger so it's understandable why no one was able to repeat the same stuff in your state for a long time. The reason that I can think of why people that are winning these lotteries online is because the programming in that lottery is in a way that there will be a winner and it's much easier to win since it's machine.
443  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Quit gamble! Easy or Hard? Let's talk. on: September 15, 2023, 06:33:41 AM
Gambling will be easier to quite if we have not dedicated so much of our time in it to the extend to making us feel uncomfortable when we don't bet. It will be more hard for people that had made loses in gambling and want to recover there funds before they leave gambling which can be very impossible.
Easy for someone to say when they don't really gamble in real life, there's no such thing as moderation when gambling, once you're in, you can't just halfway, that's why your wishful thinking that it's easier to quit when someone don't spend a lot of time gambling is false. Recovery only happens when people want to recover from their addiction, no matter what we say here anx whether others think it's a good advice, it's still all talk, the walk is a different thing.
444  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamble Responsibly on: September 15, 2023, 04:43:54 AM
Actually what gamblers should do is to completely change this mindset. When you play or you make some bets and lose, stop thinking of it as a lost money, it's not. You are supposed to be gambling for fun not for profit. Therefore, you should think of the money you list as the price of having fun. If you think this way, you will never think of chancing your losses because there aren't any in first place.
This is the right mindset that every gambler should have.
It's a difficult thing for them to change though as money is involved in gambling, they're going to be thinking about the money losing and how they can get it back, no matter how much we want to say that we just have to change our mindset regarding gambling, it's still a difficult thing to do in practice.

447  Economy / Economics / Re: Building wealth it's not just one time Luck on: September 14, 2023, 01:19:22 PM
That depends though, what if the luck that you're talking about is winning the lottery or being able to buy bitcoin back when it was dirt cheap? That's a different kind of luck. Also it's kind of weird to say that you've disregard someone's trading skill by saying that if they make 10x profit, that means they're lucky, but I guess that depends though and I do agree that if it's not a consistent occurrence then there's something wrong but I'd like to point out that even the greatest trader out there doesn't do good trades everyday.
448  Economy / Economics / Re: Human Capital, An Intangible Asset for a Company's success. on: September 14, 2023, 12:38:57 PM
Human capital is the resource that many countries are looking for that provide better job opportunities, immigration, or free study, as they save themselves a lot of time. Instead of waiting for the new generation, they search for people with experience and employ them or qualify them with high certificates and for smaller amounts. For individuals and societies, relationships represent wealth similar to their material value. A person who has good relationships and is active in society is similar to someone who has wealth. He can easily double his money once he achieves it, and he can get good jobs with fewer skills.
That's an old tactic, companies doesn't need to hire these people anymore and have them immigrate to the company of the country, they just outsource them which is much cheaper as they don't have to pay them as if they work in the company's country. That's why there's a rise in virtual assistant jobs in my country, the only time they're probably going to let their outsourced immigrate is when they really like that employee and want to meet them face to face.

451  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What type of advice is worth giving such people? on: September 14, 2023, 09:52:54 AM
No such thing as good advice because advices are based off of experience and it's unlikely that there's people out there that's living similar lives albeit it can be argued that if what you're doing is the same discipline like trading, the point would still stand because of your constitution as a human and a person, no one is the same so what might be tolerable to you might be too much for someone. The best advice is probably to take all the advice with a grain of salt.
452  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in your country. on: September 14, 2023, 04:56:34 AM
Well in the Philippines, government doesn't really have any restrictions about Bitcoin since there's a lot more of issues that they need to solve first than Bitcoin. Since Bitcoins is not that popular to the people here especially the adults one which they are not involved in crypto thinking its a fraud or a scam. Mostly the people who's involved are the new generation one due to they are influenced by the media and in the internet. Last time I've heard government concerning about crypto is about NFT game axie where they are trying to put taxes but they cannot since it's decentralized.
The most recent that I've heard of is the police warning people about Axie Infinity being a ponzi scheme, when the time that they've reported this warning, the popularity of Axie Infinity is already plummeting down. I think that it's for the best that the government is too busy to deal with the other stuff instead of bitcoin because I like the freedom that I have right now of hodling bitcoin, no hassles.
453  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Keeping or recovering seed phrases during or after a natural disaster. on: September 13, 2023, 07:35:01 AM
The solution imo is to store the seed phrases in different storages that have different survivability for different disasters, store your seed phrase in a bank that allows you to store other stuff besides money, they're a thing right? Or a safe that you can happily bury underground for a long time or you can just write it in a piece of paper and put that paper in your wallet which you keep on your person. Another unpopular way would be using Google Drive.
454  Economy / Economics / Re: Sabine Hossenfelder - Web3: World-changing tech or just a scam? on: September 13, 2023, 06:25:05 AM
In a way she's right because with a lot of developers popping up to establish dominance in the web3 space, the saturation is just too high and they end selling the same product with just a different name, that's my take on her saying that the developers losing perspective, the devs care more about being a pioneer that wouldn't probably last long rather than concentrate on one product that will outlast many competitors. Web3 is still young so we should just wait and see.
455  Economy / Economics / Re: Teaching My Nephews About Wealth Through the Game of Monopoly on: September 13, 2023, 05:10:04 AM
~
As much as I agree that it is a good idea to teach young children about these things as they are a blank canvas, we still should know what the proper age scope is to actually introduce concepts like these to them, especially since we are talking about the cognitive capacity of kids. Moreover, we also have to ensure that they are still having fun while teaching them as they play games. As much as teaching them is important we have to remember that at the end of the day, they are still kids, and games are supposed to be fun for them, it's a part of their childhood experience. Therefore, we still have to ensure that we are not taking that fun and experience away from them by turning their normal game time to information dump about a concept that they will not even have to face in the next few years.
Dude, if you read my whole statement, I have implied that and combined that with my agreement on @blckhawk statement that we should be delicate on our words with children regarding this topic that the concept of games shouldn't be lost plus it's a game of Monopoly, how can the concept of fun gets lost when it's already a game for kids? Regarding the information dump, it's the adult's prerogative on where he/she will draw the line, it's kind of weird it has to be pointed out since that's the adult's responsibility but it's nonetheless helpful that it's pointed out.
456  Economy / Economics / Re: Teaching My Nephews About Wealth Through the Game of Monopoly on: September 13, 2023, 02:14:20 AM
I don't really understand how to play this game. Just look at what the OP says is what is written on the cards. What I want to know is how old is OP's nephew? Can you make the question theme simpler to suit their age? For example, a child under 7 years old will not be able to imagine as realistically as possible something they have never encountered, such as business. It might be better to come up with question ideas that they can visualize better, such as "how to accumulate some pocket money every day".
Ideas are much easier to plant on a younger child because they're pretty much a blank slate so concepts like this are pretty good although as @blckhawk has said, never make the language too adult because it will then go right over their head which I agree, the vocabulary has levels but I think the ideas are pretty much age neutral or should I say much more retained at a young age. Monopoly is perfect already for the visualization part imo but the way to make money there is pretty much exaggerated for fun purposes though.
457  Economy / Economics / Re: Economics 101. Stagflation. on: September 12, 2023, 07:06:31 AM
Maybe if the policy makers get off their high horse and start doing things that's beneficial to the people and not the private business sectors, probably we will see that stagflation thing go away, hell even just focusing on education and worker's rights will probably make a big difference already. I don't have the data or articles read to back this yet but in my opinion, protecting the labor of a country and making sure that they're at the happiest level makes the labor less unbearable thus creating efficiency.

459  Economy / Economics / Re: Is market manipulation a common occurrence everywhere? on: September 12, 2023, 02:19:52 AM
By definition, I think that market manipulation always happens even the people that doesn't know about it are actively participating in market manipulation, what I mean is that people that are buying goods and services are the reason why the market moves so if there's an advertisement for a product or service then in a way it can be a way that the marketers manipulate the market. So in a way, market manipulation happens everywhere and it's a common occurrence.
460  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: If they have the ability why would they sell? on: September 11, 2023, 03:41:16 PM
My common sense is asking me why will they create such group if they know how to be pro traders already? Like why can't they keep this to themselves and keep making their money? Why are they trying to help and getting subscribers in return? Just my own common sense like I've said. What do you have to tell me?
The simple reason would be money but there are a few stragglers out there that does it to create a sense of community in the crypto space. Regarding the money, it's common sense already that if you can make people pay you money because they believe in what you do and that you have the ability to do so, why not make an extra buck out of it and not to mention that if you ever fail in your signal which is likely to happen especially for these so-called "pro traders", they still be able to make money out of the pockets of their subscribers.
