Arlyn why there is just you in here doing the block PR with this thread can other people from the other coins manage the thread here while you come a bit in the XC forum?
Are you preapering an over all update for us on the XC forum?
With the thread locked down it is quite difficult to get in touch with each other since there has been not much team presence in there.
I understand that you and Dan are busy with this project but you said as well that this would have not taken away from XC. There are other coins in the block with their PR guys I do not understand why you have to do all the work.
Can you tell us who will manage this thread apart from you and if you have scheduled shift to manage it between the PR people of all the other coins.
This is just not that fair for XC community members but for you also.
I've posted three times in the XC forum today alone. I'm not gone. I'm right there. It's open on a tab in my browser right now. The sole reason why I haven't posted more than three times is that there's been minimal conversation after my replies - which is the opposite of what's happened in this thread. And of course updates are in the pipeline. Major ones, as it happens. Maybe you just need to get used to the fact that we no longer have a single thread, but an entire forum to ourselves now. It's a lot easier to miss the presence of someone in a new environment of this sort. Would you care then to come to XC chat on IRC? There are people asking if the project is done..? Either you or someone else needs to get there and get some information out. I feared this would happen when Blocknet came along. Dan and Synechist's time and resources would be divided between two projects (Blocknet and XC), rather than 100% XC. I have been told otherwise by Dan, whom I of course respect a lot, but his reasoning was he will be outsourcing and sleeping less which if I am brutally honest is not re-assuring and from what I can see Synechist has spent a huuuge amount of time and effort on Blocknet in the last few days (which makes me skeptical he can be putting in as much effort towards XC as normal). I mean no ill-will towards anyone stating that, but I know I'm not the only one who has these thoughts. Don't worry, Dan will be out sourcing blocknet, hence BTC first code 2nd. |

Hi all An announcement from Bittrex regarding the ITO: BlockNet ITO - What happened and next steps.
First off, let me thank all our users for their patience on the matter. We are actively working with everyone to ensure the best outcome for all parties. Before we get started, I want to provide a little background. BlockNet was the first ICO we agreed to do where we didn't have complete control of the coin supply. We've learned our lesson, we will not be participating in any offering where we are not in a position to enforce agreed upon terms.
Somewhere along the way, there was a miscommunication and BLOCK coins were released for both trading and staking. By enforcing the escrow terms, we put Bittrex users at a disadvantage. To remedy this, we will put up a buy wall at the ITO price for 48 hours after the ITO ends on November 5th. We will not allow deposits or withdrawals during this 48 hour window. This will allow any users wanting a refund to receive one. Once this window closes, we will pull the buy wall and evaluate the escrow terms. If everything checks out, we will release the funds to the developer and open the wallet and market for trading.
This will rectify the unfair conditions imposed upon Bittrex traders due to trading being enabled at Poloniex. I would like to clarify that this is unrelated to the recent FUD, but is purely due to the different rules on Poloniex and Bittrex. Finally, this entails that you are all free to buy BLOCK on Bittrex without risk of loss, as you'll have a chance to sell it again if market sentiment is not positive when the ITO ends. Expect tech and escrow-related news from us soon. Should it not be released to escrow? |

Yes, currently that is the only one available. Development of the next generation wallet with SuperNET integration is in the final stages AFAIK. Someone else may be able to provide more details. |

I did as well and have been getting payments. The blocks found while you were mining haven't matured yet. I can't keep mining to try and keep the pool on the right fork. I'll keep petro active for another week but if there are no miners I'll have to shut it down. It wastes too much of my time try to get it back on the proper chain when someone eventually decides to drop by and mine. |

I don't see any coin other than a Cryptonote coin challenging Darkcoin for the title of anonymous coin. And there is room for more than one anyway. Darkcoin has a large and faithful community and it's not going anywhere.

Staking is necessary to secure the network. If we would't stake, you'd be bitching about how unsecure this POS coin is.
It's a compromise to sell the tokens and generate some money to further develop the technology. If you don't believe or rather invest when the product is ready.. just buy in Q2 2015. Risk is the name of the game pal
The POS interest will be canceled by in some form when the BLOCKS are being exchanged for NHZ assets.
I think that the smartest way to do this, is to make sure that everyone stakes (most secure) and that the moment of exchanging for NHZ assets will caclulate the total amount of BLOCKS available and set a conversion rate based on that.
Let's see what the team has in mind about this
Dan has told me that we will destroy an amount of BLOCK equivalent to however much is staked. This will most likely be when BLOCK is redeemed for NHZ assets. But, can't people simply just take the extra staked coins and start trading them on the open market? Seems like quite the can of worms... How can you destroy them when they've been traded? |
