"Only invest an amount you can afford to lose."

Probably one of the most common advice I've heard when it comes to investing in bitcoin; and I've used it a lot of times too. But honestly, in our current situation where fiat is getting printed like hell, I started to use that statement less and less. It just seems that holding bitcoin is now totally necessary.

Don't get me wrong, we should still be heavily educating people when it comes to proper investing in general with DCA-ing and probably not going all-in on one go and stuff, but I think bitcoin is a lot less risky of an investment now compared to the past few years despite it still being volatile.

Thoughts? Opinions?

I agree with you 100%. The only option that was present before bitcoin for good returns was stocks. Now let me tell you why bitcoin and other crypto is much better than stocks:

1) You can trade crypto 24*7. This means more earning opportunity and the flexibility to invest as per own time schedule.

2) If we compare the returns also bitcoin and other crypto will beat stocks by huge margin. However, one has to make sure that one does not invest his hard earned money in shit projects.

3) There are lot of other earning opportunities in case of crypto like there is staking which kind of gives fixed returns. There are people who are getting as much as 80-1005 annual returns with staking which is in addition to price growth of the coin.. Such returns are not imaginable in case of stocks.
462  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you know the Cards game..lucky nine, pusoy and tong its on: December 16, 2021, 06:40:36 AM
I think someday bitcoin and other currencies can be used also in this kind of gambling apps.this apps playing different kind of cards are using now of a lot of people.
Bitcoin has already been widely used for almost everything, for purchasing goods, services, and even gambling.

So there is no doubt that soon if there's a casino that focuses on those card games, they're going to use bitcoin as their main adopted and supported cryptocurrencies to be accepted.

Only thing that  will determine  the addition of these games on online casinos and other gaming platforms is the demand for the games. These might be popular at certain places of the world but an online gaming platform has to keep overall demand in mind so that they can have enough engagement for that particular game.

If you feel that these particular card games can be good fit for some online gaming website, you can reach them out and suggest them to list these on trial basis. Also, if it starts gaining popularity on one platform, it will force other platforms also to consider it so as to attract new players on their website.

So far as my personal experience is concerned, among the games you listed, I had played just lucky nine games and I must say it is an engaging game.

466  Other / Meta / Re: Would be nice to have a dedicated space to exchange on the NFTs? :) on: December 11, 2021, 01:33:51 PM
Hi Support,
Any chance to add a section dedicated to the NFTs?

I will support a section for discussion related to NFTs. They might be the next big thing and it will be better if the forum is prepared for it in advance.

However, allowing members to be able to exchange this or buy NFTs here will not be possible to integrate on this forum. A separate platform will have to be created for that which will be competing with the best crypto exchanges in the world who are already doing good work.
467  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Reasons why I prefer Bitcoin over any other assets and dips don't panic me.... on: December 11, 2021, 01:30:31 PM
I also like bitcoin but I feel you have shown just one side of the picture. There are some altcoins which have better features than bitcoin. Like some have very less fees while others are much faster than bitcoin. It is common sense that any coin which has better features than bitcoin and is more friendly to use overall will replace bitcoin in future. So if you have the time to analyze such coins, it is better to go with them. When they become mainstream, you will make higher profit than by investing in bitcoin.
468  Other / Meta / Re: Encouraging existing bitcointalk users to being more users to this forum on: November 22, 2021, 07:23:42 PM
If I may ask, is there anything urgent to encourage forum admin to start thinking about this referral program?

It is not urgent. And you are right thag those who have interest in crypto will probably join. But different people can be motivated by different ways. We are having good number of users should not mean that we stop thinking about future growth.
469  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will CRO will do tomorrow 10-30% gains? on: November 22, 2021, 07:13:14 PM
Chances are good as the coin  is giving very good returns for the last few days. But if I was at your place, I would not have invested 20k on a single coin. What will you do if it shows 30℅ correction and you loose $6000 in a day?

A better approach is to invest in 5-10 good coins for long term. In this some coins will give loss while some will give profit. But if just one or two blow up which is very much probable, you will make great return.
470  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I want to sale 30m SHIB on: November 22, 2021, 07:10:10 PM
Do not deal directly this way.

Who will protect you if something goes wrong? Better sell on any reputed exchange like Binance. They are completely safe and secure to use and this you will be better dealing there only.
471  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Apple CEO Tim Cook invests on Crypto on: November 22, 2021, 07:07:58 PM
So many people with technical expertise are investing in crypto. That shows the future potential of bitcoin and crypto in general.

I think still there is lot of scope for investors and users of bitcoin. It may completely replace banks on future and this the whole economy will rely on crypto technology.
472  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin City Rising in El Salvador on: November 22, 2021, 07:03:18 PM
It is a good thing that they adopted bitcoin and it will surely help on their growth as the bitcoin market also grows.

But it would have been more better if they did in like 2014 or 2015. Now bitcoin has grown quite a lot and also there are so many other coins that dominance of bitcoin has reduced. I hope this new step still helps in development on the place and crypto both at the same time.
473  Other / Meta / Re: Forum PM Privacy on: November 22, 2021, 06:59:54 PM
A personal message is a way for you to send a message to a specific person. It is in no way a private message. This means the content can potentially be disclosed to anyone that is interested in the message.

The new forum has a specific requirement that the end user have the ability to share the contents of a PM with other forum users via a link. Only one user would need to consent in order for the M to be disclosed.

What do you mean by the new forum here?
474  Other / Meta / Re: Encouraging existing bitcointalk users to being more users to this forum on: November 22, 2021, 06:47:30 PM
Organizing a contest of bringing referrals to the forum and giving monetary reward to people with most referrals.
I can think of 56 different ways to abuse this.
That can actually be a good thing. If the admin decides to implement this, message the mod those 56 possible abuses and he will find out the security measures to avoid them.

There are ways people try to game the referral system in all sites. No system is 100 ℅ perfect. But many great companies have grown with the power of referral like PayPal.
475  Other / Meta / Option to filter messages based on keywords on: November 22, 2021, 06:24:15 PM
I have seen such an option on some forums and it is really an useful feature. Such a feature if implemented here also can be quite useful. Like suppose there is a member with multiple bst threads in different niche, he can fiter the messages related to a particular service and talk to the respective sender of that message.

Same way those who get lot of messages like staff related to different aspects can also filter the messages and take desired action if required in future.
476  Other / Meta / Encouraging existing bitcointalk users to being more users to this forum on: November 22, 2021, 06:15:10 PM
I will talk about this can be implemented but first let me mention the benefits.

Those who are already members here have good interest in the field of crypto and majority has invested. Now, these people might be in contact of many other people who are also interested in this field and this they can invite such users here. When such users having own crypto related experiences come here, they will share it and it will result in further organic growth and expansion of the forum. The chain will continue.

Now here are some ways this can be implemented :
1) Organizing a contest of bringing referrals to the forum and giving monetary reward to people with most referrals.
2) Another option is to give membership upgrades instead of monetary reward.

Same way it can implemented in different ways on the forum.

Now what do you think about this feature? Is it needed? Can it do any good to the bitcointalk forum?

478  Other / Meta / Maximum posts allowed per day on: October 10, 2021, 03:38:51 PM
Are there currently any limits to maximum number of posts allowed by a member per day?

If there are no limits, some limit should be introduced. It will help to reduce the spam on the forum. Also, the workload on moderators will be reduced as they have less number of spam posts to look after.

What do you think of this feature?
479  Other / Meta / Re: What is the main reason you don't come to this website more often? on: October 01, 2021, 05:39:32 PM
I got occupied with my work and thus could not visit the forum that often. Now that I have created some passive sources of income, I again have free time to browse ans contribute to the forum. Hope the second innings will be brighter than the first one.
480  Other / Meta / Re: Are we now allowing obviously false information to be posted as truth? on: October 01, 2021, 09:10:31 AM
I'm going to report the post and see.

Let us know how that goes. I've reported some of BADecker's far more shitty posts without success so I'm not wasting my time on this. He seems to have solid immunity (no pun intended) here.

It may take some time to be checked by the mod and then proper action to be taken. There must be a lot of pending reports as this is a very busy forum.
