461  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: why most of btc users are russians? on: March 24, 2016, 08:16:03 AM
Well maybe nakamoto were russian.I believe now the most bitcoiners are from USA and Europe ,Chinas has the miners but not the most user i believe.

and the speculation (that is not even widespread) that satoshi is russian supposed to make russian use bitcoins?
many russian use bitcoins merely as substitute of some other payment method. but last I checked the number of bitcoin accepting merchants from russia are not that many compared to other countries.

463  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Is it possible ? on: March 23, 2016, 04:30:06 PM
I mean how can they get the coins if they don't have the seed and I only use the password in Linux when sending payments? I don't think this is possible so far, but I am glad to hear more ideas about it.

they can't send any coins without the wallet/seed/private keys and the private keys are stored in the wallet (unless you export them somewhere else.).
464  Economy / Speculation / Re: With the halving coming... on: March 23, 2016, 04:17:11 PM
Let's assume that we reach a new ATH of $1,700, what do you do?

if we reach that much in less than 6 month, I'll be watching the market very closely for any sign of dumping. and buy some at the bottom.  Cool
465  Economy / Auctions / Re: [AUCTION] Transparant 32GB USB Key on: March 23, 2016, 01:59:03 PM

466  Other / Meta / Re: my account got banned on: March 23, 2016, 01:44:15 PM
how long does it normally take?
I'm waiting for over a week now...

can take anywhere from a day to over a year. no I'm quite serious. some users have waited for months.
send an email again if you don't get any replies in 2 weeks. and I think being patient helps.

469  Other / Meta / Re: mass password reminder requests occuring right now on: March 22, 2016, 09:26:03 PM
probably just some guy hoping that the password reset emails will get to the email accounts that they created. some users use invalid email accounts that can be created easily (@gmail, @yahoo, etc)
470  Economy / Lending / Re: Loan 0.48 BTC on: March 22, 2016, 08:32:12 PM
Hello everyone,

I know I'm a new member, but since this is an emergency for me, I thought I'd give this a shot. I would highly appreciate if someone could loan me 0.48 BTC  (€180) to repay my medical bill which is due to end this month (Bill is actually € 203). I will return 200€ (0.53 BTC according to preev) in 10 to 14 days, basically from my next paycheck (usually paid on 7th each month).

Can provide scan of the bill, my ID and proof of income if needed.

in bitcointalk we need collateral before giving a loan. and none of the things you listed are valid collateral.
471  Other / Meta / Re: Canned posts on: March 22, 2016, 05:20:17 PM
How do you report them besides signature campaign manager, are you clicking report thread? If so what do you type?

there's a report to moderator button on the right corner (above signature) of every post. click on that to report a post. fill the comment box with the reason for your report if needed.
472  Other / Meta / Re: Ban appealing - BetBTC on: March 22, 2016, 05:05:49 PM
Even deleting it you might still be banned for good.  If you post outside of meta and are banned, it's a perma ban.  There is no rule that if deleted you don't get perma ban.

ban evasion doubles the duration of the ban. perma-ban because evasion is done when they evaded too many times (afaik).

edit: apparently evade x2 = permanent. source > https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1167742.0
473  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ebook on: March 22, 2016, 04:26:18 PM
who said I'm sure that it was written by satoshi? the empty quote at the end means that there's no proof btw (at least I didn't find any).  Tongue
474  Other / Meta / Re: Stake your Bitcoin address here on: March 22, 2016, 04:02:45 PM
If this is something that would really help us then I can do the same thing. Things may happen that we didnt expect so it is better to save some for the future. Like this saving my bitcoin address here will somehow help me secure the address I have right now..

Here is mine: 39HKhypY2Uqv8nxxE1uWhT1jkwkD372kfw

can you even sign a message with that address? hint: don't stake an address if you don't control its private key.
475  Other / Meta / Re: Canned posts on: March 22, 2016, 04:00:53 PM
...

guess what? they all have bitmixer signature and post two-liners (and very hopeful).
so far I haven't found any completely off-topic "hope" post other than the one by namelesscoin though.

It's possible the off-topic ones are gone now - I reported a couple yesterday, and the remaining ones did seem to be at least tangentially on-topic. It's these latter ones I guess I'm curious about - can they be reported, or does being on-topic make them OK, even if they're low-value and spammy? I feel like I'm making subjective judgements, though - I wouldn't trust me as arbiter of all things useful, so I need a second opinion before I go mad with the "report" button!

low value and/or spammy posts are not ok even if they're on-topic so report them if you think they're low-quality/spammy. though I can't guarantee that the mods will agree with you. I've reported multiple accounts for spamming low quality one-liners once and they kept on doing it (but it seems they've improved over time.).
476  Other / Meta / Re: Canned posts on: March 22, 2016, 03:27:10 PM
very interesting... I haven't noticed this but you're right.

Many people wants to make some profit later in the future. But you never know what will happen with the value and that is the problem.
We all hope that the value will rise in the future and that we can all sell it with profit later and that will be very good.

That is very hard to predict. You can never know what is going to happen with Bitcoin in the future and that is the problem.
Of course we all hope that the price will rise for a long time so we can get some more profit later in the future and that will be good.

Bitcoin will have a good future. I know that as much as 100 percent sure. But it is the risk that you should take to invest now.
But I think we all hope later for a good future for Bitcoin. But you never know what can happen later in the future and that is the problem.

You never know what will happen with Bitcoin after the halving and of course we all hope that it will be more worth.
But that is hard to say because it is a currency so you dont know what will happen. We shall wait and see....

Bitcoin will have a good future later and that is because the world is becoming more digital and that is good.
But you never know what will happen with the future. We all hope that the future will rise and that will be good.

The best that I like is that you can make some huge profit. That will be so nice, but you must be smart to doing that.
We all hope that the value will rise of course in the future, but you dont know when it will happen, and that is the problem.

That will not happen. Many people need the banks and that is the most important for the most people, They have also cash money.
But it will reduce banks of course in the future and that is quite okay. But we all hope that Bitcoin  will be more used.

We all hope that it will be the bottom. But you can never know what will happen. We all hope that it will rise for a long time.
And that will be pretty good for those people who already has made an investment. And I hope also that more people are going to use Bitcoin.

We all hope for that is going to happen. But you never know what can happen with the value of Bitcoin and that is the problem.
I hope that more people will have some profit and that they sell it for a high price. You can also see now that the price is rising slowly.

guess what? they all have bitmixer signature and post two-liners (and very hopeful).
so far I haven't found any completely off-topic "hope" post other than the one by namelesscoin though.

The Autobiography of Satoshi Nakamoto by Matthäus Jandaček

the beginning:

Who is this Matthäus Jandaček claiming to be Satoshi Nakamoto? That's a fair question. The blunt answer is, "Yes, I am Satoshi Nakamoto, the real one, the inventor of Bitcoin. And no, I am not Satoshi Nakamoto. My name is Matthäus Jandaček."

the end:
