481  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: No advertisement for btc on: November 05, 2023, 09:48:12 AM
I was just reading this post and thought crossed in my mind that there has been no advertisement for Bitcoin. It's all growth has been natural, it's quite surprising if you think about it.
There was this forum that had people in it to whom it was announced and that is also a form of advertisement, it doesn't necessarily have to be a paid advertising campaign or running ads on TV or buying billboard spaces just to let people know about it. People who were involved in the creation and announcement process knew that it would eventually spread all around the world so they didn't need to market it, besides, people do marketing for things that they create for money, Satoshi and his colleagues and helpers didn't create Bitcoin to earn money through it.

Some people, like Hal Finney, were also active on social media platforms such as Twitter at that time and they used to post updates about it publicly, so the word spread little by little and that's the reason why it took so much time for adoption to reach this place or we would have had a price higher than this in the past if there was paid advertisement done just to let people know about it.
482  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: November 04, 2023, 06:56:52 PM
I think Barcelona also deserves to be favorite along with Man City, Real Madrid and Bayern Munchen. It's not without reason that i say this, we can see that currently Xavi squad has wiped out three matches with a win and is at the top of the group standings with 9 points. If we look more closely, City has lost twice in the EPL, namely at the hands of Wolves and Arsenal, Munchen was beaten yesterday by a third division team in the DFB Pokal. Madrid has also been beaten by ATM and Barcelona also lost in the El Clasico match. So i think each favorite club has a negative record at their respective domestic levels.
Barcelona have good opportunity  this season their participants in UEFA Champion League, not in the difficult group stage teams and they have won 3 of 3 matches just need one match left for qualifying to next round. Current 3rd team standings Shakhtar Donetsk have three points and good opportunity for Barcelona in the first time after last two season failed reach to knock out round. Next match, Shakhtar Donetsk vs Barcelona and moment for Xavi Hernandez penetrate his failure last two season when Barcelona have eliminating to UEFA Europe League.

Talking about favorite teams for winning Champion League actually Manchester City is the first number and allow by Real Madrid then Bayern Munich, for Barcelona I don't really optimistic for winning Champion League tittle.
Barcelona's performance is also debatable for the favorite for this season but as we have three other hot favorites things are not allowing this all because their performance is lacking few things which are also important and there is no doubt about Real Madrid, Manchester City and Bayern Munich are currently best in business but here few things are still going against the Barcelona as Xavi is still doing few experiments which are long run, and they could be much better in coming years because they could be best.

Now their next game against Shakhtar Donestk is also important even this is not going to have any problem about their promotion into knock out stage, but they need to do their best for having more confidence in this league their lost against Real Madrid in El Classic is also big below for them.
483  Economy / Economics / Re: Can Bitcoin help global refugees and migrants to relocate to new countries? on: November 04, 2023, 11:59:02 AM
1. Brainstorm "safe" methods to convert Fiat to Bitcoin
2. Provide offline and online cold storage solutions to protect their coins.
3. Provide an easy on-ramp to convert Bitcoin to Fiat and the other way around for refugees.
4. Offer reliable and trustworthy P2P services for these vulnerable people, when they arrive in a new country.
5. Keep the transaction fees at these services as low as possible, to give them more money to start a new life.
These things can be done by an exchange or some service provider and they don't necessarily have to use Bitcoin for this and any other cryptocurrency can also be used, and what I'm trying to imply with that is that it is not really Bitcoin that is helping them relocate or solve their problems but it is some service provider that would do that. So, any cryptocurrency or any other asset can solve all these issues of the refugees if they are all being done by a third-party.

Some people say that governments of the countries allowing refugees should assist them using Bitcoin, they need to understand that governments of most countries are not in favor of Bitcoin and they will never do that. They might help them with local fiat currency or providing them shelters and food.
484  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: why meme coins are trending? on: November 04, 2023, 05:53:39 AM
Don't choose memecoins that only appear when the hype arrives and will eventually disappear and be worthless.
Aren't all altcoins apart from DOGE are same? Almost all of them appear only when they are being hyped up by the community and they disappear as soon as their hype or trend gets over, maybe not all of them become worthless but at least they disappear from the top lists or gainers, they might appear among losers from time to time. So, I don't really think that any meme coin is different from the others but they all have the same characteristics.

Besides, meme coins mostly are only profitable when they are bought at the initial stages because most of the time, they tend to just stay low or down once the hype is over and the ones holding their tokens after that will barely be able to get anything out of them for years and will have their money stuck or incur losses if they sell them lower.
485  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Market warms up, what altcoins can help me rich? on: November 03, 2023, 06:34:00 PM
First option for holding till halving should be bitcoin because altcoins can give you profit but not always because many people have lost money due to putting it in altcoins which become zero after some time. Bitcoin cannot waste your money therefore hold some bitcoin because just few months are remaining for halving. If someone wants to hold altcoins for coming halving then I will suggest that Solana and Ethereum will be increasing in price because if bitcoin increases every other coin will directly boosting. Bitcoin is more better than altcoins so if you want sure return then don't waste time in getting suggestion about altcoins and start buying bitcoin.
Bitcoin is better than every other cryptocurrency, there is no doubt about that, but diversification is the best thing to go with, and one doesn't have to add useless coins and tokens in their portfolio when diversifying it but there are a lot of good and trusted cryptocurrencies apart from Bitcoin that can make someone get good profits during a bull run, so one can find out and add the best cryptocurrencies alongside Bitcoin in their portfolio and wait for the bull run.

Most altcoins are not good to be held for the long term, because they generally lose value when there is a big dump by a whale or someone holding a very large percentage of that coin, however, there are some that can be trusted when it comes to this matter, ETH is on top of that list as you said it already.
486  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading is risky, be conscious on: November 02, 2023, 06:24:51 PM
Some people suffer losses in trading, because they make mistakes due to ignorance of market fluctuations and lack of experience in trading.therefore, only the market or trading cannot be blamed for the loss. Everyone advises people to try to learn first and start trading after gaining a good experience and expertise. Of course, there are risks in trading, but every business involves risks, therefore we should not scare anyone so much that they stop thinking about trading.

it is never possible for you to make only profits and never experience losses. This is the crypto currency market, there are both profits and losses but good traders should always increase their profit margin. So we should encourage people and give them useful information and methods about trading, to increase their interest in trade. If we scare  people with things like risk, ruin, losing everything, then newbies  won't even go near trading instead of getting experience in trading.
Crypto trading or the market are not human's to talk and encourage people to try them so it isn't their fault if a trader will lose their money. Also we are not scaring anyone here. Rather what we do is only giving an extra pre-cautions about how risky trading was. But despite of it, many people are still not afraid to venture it. They can even trade hastily with only less or no knowledge at on all on their heads.

I won't ever encourage someone to do trading because I'm afraid that they will blame me once there is something wrong that happens with them. They can also annoy you and ask you a lot of questions about it. So always think twice guys before doing it.
487  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 16k DOLLARS LOSS IN JUST 1 YEAR on: November 01, 2023, 05:33:30 PM
Don't be like that if you're a starter trader. You can start with a small amount for your trades just to get familiarized with how it goes. Putting $1k already as you start is like a pro move but do you think that you can burn that much money just for the lessons? It is better to get discouraged for the newbies to start with huge money as you trade but if that's what you can afford to lose, it's not my money to touch it but just saying that start with little trades first before getting greedy with your future trades.
The very first thing that a newbie needs to understand is that they need to gain enough knowledge about the market, trading practices and techniques, types of analysis, and anything about the coins and tokens that they are going to trade. Once they do that, they should know that futures trading isn't for them since it requires even more extensive knowledge and experience and that experience can only come if you spend some time in the market doing other trades like just buying and selling after a short time intervals so that you can have an idea about how the market and different coins move.

You are absolutely right that when a person is in the learning phase, they shouldn't use a very high amount for their trades but they should only use small amounts for each trade so that even if they fail some trades, they won't lose a lot of money and the amount lost should be recoverable through later trades.
488  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bull season started? on: November 01, 2023, 03:38:20 PM
May of us and including me does not know the difference between the normal increment of price and the bull run increment of price.
There is no difference in the increment or the growth, but it is just that the increment during a bull run tends to continue without having a lot of dips or corrections in between, which means that once the price goes up $5k or something, it won't come down again, even if it does, it wouldn't come down more than 10% and it will start going up again. Other than that, there aren't a lot of differences in normal increment and increment during the bull run.

I think we are going to experience another bear market to the region of 20k before bull run will come.
I don't really see that happening anytime soon because Bitcoin is looking a bit strong at the moment, I know that it is trying hard to cross $35k but hasn't been able to do that so far, but there are also no signs for it to dip back towards $20k which is too low. The least we can expect is around $28k maybe.
489  Economy / Economics / Re: Does Using a Credit Card Demonstrate Financial Literacy? on: November 01, 2023, 05:42:49 AM
Do you believe that someone who exclusively uses cash for their purchases rather than credit cards is demonstrating financial literacy? Many argue that people tend to be financially reckless when using credit cards, often forgetting that it involves borrowing money. In various Netflix TV shows depicting individuals in debt seeking advice from financial advisors, the most consistent suggestions for getting out of debt are usually to cut up their credit cards and transition to making cash payments.

Individuals who avoid using credit cards tend to have a higher probability of being debt-free, showcasing financial discipline, and experiencing greater satisfaction compared to those reliant on credit cards. What are your thoughts on this stance?
I believe it's all about discipline within the nature of a person and it isn't about using cash or credit cards for you to have or don't have debt. There can be people who might be indebted even after using cash because they basically lack financial management skills and they don't know how they should use their money so that it fulfills all their needs and they don't require more money before they get paid again, and similarly, there can be people who might be debt-free even when using credit cards because they know their spending limit and they wouldn't cross that.

However, I do agree with the fact that when a person knows that they can use more money than they actually own, this might be tempting when they want to make a certain purchase but they don't have enough money for that but they can buy it using a credit card but in return become indebted to the bank.
490  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ICC WORLD CUP 2023 DISCUSSION THREAD! on: October 31, 2023, 06:26:53 PM
By winning today's match, Pakistan team has already rise up above from 5 teams. Congratulations to them. Although before the end of Bangladesh's innings, everyone knew that the Bangladesh team would not be able to win the match, finally it happened. Even after falling 3 wickets of Bangladesh the team was playing very well but suddenly the rhythm fell. Mahmudullah and Shakib formed a good partnership but since that stopped the Bangladesh team could not progress further. Bangladesh team managed to give a target of 204 only. Against a team like Pakistan, this score was naturally a foreboding for the Bangladesh team. In the end Pakistan team got a big win by 7 wickets. Pakistan batted well except for Babar Azam in this match.
Now we are turning into interesting phase of this world cup with few teams which are already having their results in hands going to play dumb games, but their performance can create good changes at the top after impressive start now New Zealand is having 2 matches losing streak and their next game is against South Africa in case of lost they can drop to fourth with Australia is going to face worst team of this event England and in case of win they could be jumped at third with secure spot for the last four as well.

Afghanistan having two very tough games against South Africa and Australia which are surely not giving any support to their cause for the top four and Pakistan having now two games against New Zealand and England which are surely interesting because if South Africa beats New Zealand then we can have chance for Pakistan, but they have to win their last two games.
491  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What Coin is Best for short term speculation on: October 31, 2023, 04:25:09 PM
I think EGLD, because currently EGLD is popular, so in the near future the price of EGLD will increase very high, so I am sure that by investing in EGLD right now, so you will get a big profits, therefore I recommend you to investing in EGLD as a short-term investment, because it is very easy for the price of EGLD to increase more than 2x from the current price and enter the top 10 on coinmarketcap.
Short-term speculation doesn't include the distant future and the way you said it, I believe you mean that EGLD is going to go high in the future, and by future, you probably mean the bull run that is to come and that isn't really short-term. Short-term is only used when a trade isn't dragged more than a month, maximum, and if you are making a trade that takes you longer than a month, you should consider that being a medium-term trade and not short-term.

However, I don't really see EGLD doing very well as its 24-hour volume is down by 44% which isn't good because that only happens when people stop investing or trading the coin, and its price is up only 1% in 24 hours which doesn't show any signs of popularity. So, I don't recommend this coin for short-term profits.
492  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tips on staying responsible. on: October 31, 2023, 01:12:28 PM
I think I agree with you to the aspect of not devoting most of your time to gambling but that can be applicable to people who get themselves engaged in one way or the other whereby they are mostly busy with work and as such do not have much time gambling but only on few occasions and that is during the weekends when they are less busy  compared to those who have nothing doing and decides to take up gambling as their full time job. These sets of people possibly are addicted to gambling and cannot do without it as they have it as a full time job.
If we're talking about gambling responsibly, shouldn't the discipline of time management part of that umbrella which is "gambling responsibly"? What I mean is that having a time devoted to your gambling habit and knowing the time to stop is a common sense that shouldn't really be said. It seems like telling them that is kind of a reminder and that they're already failing at being responsible at gambling. How can someone have gambling as a full-time job? Don't you lose money more in gambling?
That's actually a good point. Most people think that gambling responsibly simply means to just spend less money or managing your bankroll in a good way so that you don't lose it very quickly and any other thing that is related to what happens within the casino, but no one talks about time management, which is a very essential part of being a responsible gambler because as a responsible gambler, you are also supposed to have a balance between your normal life and your gambling activities.

There can be times when a person might not spend a lot of money on gambling, winning and losing again and again, but at such times, they will be spending a lot of their time which can actually disturb their normal routine and they will obviously have to dedicate some time from another activity to their gambling if they are spending more time on it.
493  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2023 end game sentiment check on: October 31, 2023, 12:14:01 PM
We dont have a great deal of time left in 2023 but speed can pick up & BTC tends to run in these last few months.  Even main markets can sometimes spark into something around the December or winter months, maybe its because of holidays that movement is more notable to occur then over the summer where for centuries a noted drift has been fable.   My theory is the shorter days alter peoples habit and mood to trading even while BTC is global its altered by dollar monetary flows.

Any answer you feel like is correct.  Im not asking for a precise prediction just mostly a thumbs up or down, its purely the idea that peoples feeling alter and sometimes market effects are ironic; its worth noting how bullish the crowd is.

7 day poll & you may alter your vote later.  If you can come up with a better poll option I'll add it on just for you  Cool
I could not find the option that I wanted to choose in the poll because I believe it won't go sideways but it would also not go as high as creating a new all-time high just this year. The maximum that I can think of is maybe $40k or $42k because there will obviously be small corrections every now and then, and I believe that will be a great start for the most anticipated bull run if Bitcoin manages to go above $40k before 4 months to the halving event coming in April 2024.

I could also say that the price will drop below $30k once again but I'm not going to because I saw the market going down to $33k after reaching $35k but it couldn't go lower than that, so I believe the upward movement is much stronger than the drop at the moment which will probably become the reason for it going up more.
494  Economy / Economics / Re: You can't meet all your needs/desires at once, even if you spend all your salary on: October 30, 2023, 08:48:30 PM
Yes this is true, human wants is much more unsatisfiable so no matter what you do, this life is very complex, I think the best way is to do what you know how to do at all time to make yourself and people around you happy, getting all you desired should not be part of the goal because it is a no no, it is practically impossible to meet your needs once as a human being, you just can't, sometimes I see people think this way but my stands have been, it is impossible, even the so-called world billionaires, there are still things wanting in their life, this is natural and we can not change it, to me I see some of this things as the way our creator has made it to be and there is nothing we can do about it.
That's the actual thing, human nature isn't satisfiable, no matter how much you achieve, you will still want to achieve something more, the struggle is real. Someone who is poor thinks that those who are rich have everything they need in their lives but those who are rich know that some of their desires are still unfulfilled, some of them might have to do with finances and some might not need finances but people who have a lot of money will still have problems.

So as they say, "The grass is always greener from the other side of the fence.", which means that no matter how much you get in your life, you will still desire more. You can barely find people who don't have everything but they are still happy and satisfied with whatever they have and they never complain.
495  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Educating unemployed friends about Bitcoin on: October 30, 2023, 06:18:03 AM
That’s really great to hear mate. Educating people about Bitcoins is good and it will really help them to make a better investment plans. But I would suggest not to give them investment advice. Whether it’s Bitcoins or any other asset, never give investment advices. These friends who are praising you, will only make you responsible if there investment goes into losses. So keep yourself limited to educating only. Tell them about the benefits and decentralised nature of the coin. Rest they will figure out, what to do with these amazing coins.
For me, I don't like to discuss anything to my friends because when money involves, I considered it as a confidential matter. just like what you've said, those friends who are praising you will only make you responsible if their investments fail. It's better to introduce it first then let them make their own research and study so they can learn it from their own and to avoid the blame in the end. Not because I don't want to teach them every details, doesn't mean I am being mean and selfish. I don't want to spoon-feed them.
I agree with that. One should only educate someone about Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies if someone asks them upfront because that will not let them put any blame on the guy in case they make a decision to invest and then lose money, and the person who educates them should let them know in advance the amount of risks cryptocurrency investments carry even though Bitcoin's risk is a bit lower since it is the most trusted and safe cryptocurrency in the market.

Spoon-feeding someone everything and also making them make investments might be bad for you later on because such people often blame those who get them through every process, once they lose some money, they will not hesitate before saying that you were the one who made them invest in cryptocurrencies.
496  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How quick do altcoins pump in bull run? on: October 29, 2023, 07:44:51 PM
It is better to have a less profit with safe inventment in my opinion.
That's what people need to understand. There is basically no point in taking such high risks only to earn a couple of folds of your investment since there are higher chances of losing the money than getting profits since the coins or tokens they choose to invest in barely make it anywhere and die off as soon as they are ignored by the masses because a cryptocurrency requires investments in order to gain value and if a coin or token isn't bought by a lot of people, it won't gain any value.

There is nothing wrong in doing that if you are using a very small percentage of your capital just to try your luck but some people invest very large amounts in such coins and tokens only with the hope that they might earn a lot of money from them if they manage to get some hype and eventually pump really hard which barely happens with most of them.
497  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Know When to Stop. Lesson for Everyone, Particularly Investors on: October 29, 2023, 06:00:09 PM
We must take into account that not all who try trading become successful, some have also had a terrible experience and still, they continue trading.
For me, I don't think we need to sacrifice our finances knowing that we failed in trading, I think we should also know the words stop and quit if the the situation is not really in our favor. In fact, it was not a big deal if we failed and thought that some people would laugh at us but it was a big issue when we lost a lot of money and committed debt.
There is a big difference between stopping and quitting, and I believe one should stop trading temporarily if they see that they are constantly failing the trades and losing a lot of money instead of getting profits. Quitting is not a solution, you can't give up just because you are facing failure but you need to work on the things that are making you fail and if you don't see them, take your time, evaluate your actions and find out the reasons behind the failure.

Once the reasons are found, you should work on them without going into real trading but using demo accounts just to repeat the practices and things that you've learned or improved. After some time, when you see that you have improved a lot and have way more knowledge than before, you should try again, and if you fail again, repeat the same process again, and eventually, there will be a time when you will become a successful trader.
498  Economy / Economics / Re: Small Scale Business Ideas on: October 29, 2023, 05:18:41 PM
On this board I often see a lot of discussions related to investment and finance which tend to be large scale. However, to start investing we need capital. How do you find capital for investment?

Let's talk about small scale businesses that have low risks and promising profits so that we can have capital to invest and become passive income in the future.

Do you have a small business idea? or business experience? I want to hear it
There are alot of businesses out there but a business that works for Man A may not work for Man B. This is because there are a lot of factors to be considered before going into a business.
Following the crowd is obviously not a good way to start a business even if the crowd is doing well, it means that no matter how good you see a business is working that someone else is doing, you should get into that business only because it's giving good revenue to the other business owner but you should go for something that you feel you can do very well and you have the ability to manage that business with all your potential and your business will be unique and isn't a copy of another business that already exists because that wouldn't give you an edge.

One shouldn't do that, but even if someone starts a business someone around them is already doing it, they should make their business different than theirs, and offer something that the other business isn't providing to their customers so that they get more customers and your business starts flourishing.
499  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Man Who Stole Over 51,680 Bitcoin on: October 28, 2023, 02:52:51 PM
The question is are they still holding that volume of bitcoin he stole then till now or they have sold it? Because if they are holding till date I believe that will worth something very large, but if they sold out when it was nothing then I can see this story not to be attractive because people will be glad to hear how they managed to secure it till date. I would have clicked on the video to watch but I don't like clicking on everything I come across here with my mobile rather pc will be more better, just that I am only being mindful with the kind of links I clicked here.
As far as I know, they decided to sell those bitcoins in portions, and I think they have sold 2 portions so far from that. They've even decided the timeframes of when they will sell the portions regardless of the price of the asset at that time which indicates that they don't really care about the money that much because if that was the case, they could hold them up until the market goes up and then sell them to get more money out of the assets instead of doing this.

However, coming back to the topic, I believe the guy did what everyone would have done if they had gotten the opportunity because you can't refuse money when you don't already have a lot of it, it's just that he made a few mistakes along the way which got him caught, otherwise, he would have been living the dream life he might have thought about.
500  Economy / Economics / Re: World Debt Clock by nations. on: October 28, 2023, 05:35:05 AM
The World is owing the World!

These debts are still in the hands of the world. When I hear countries like America being in debt, I'm forced to ask, what is a country with liberty to print as much as they want to, to finance whatever they deem fit, doing with debt clock on themselves. I can understand the debt of the then days America, when they had to borrow $100m from J.P.Morgan but for today's America, I'm still left in awe.
The one that owns the world are the humans. We already dealt a lot of damage to it. The debts are on our own hands, not in the world. But the whole country or the whole world is now experiencing it because the life now is getting tougher and tougher. Solving the debt via printing numerous amounts of cash is not the perfect solution to it, but it will only worsen the problem. If you already understand the debt of the old America then that is not different from the new America or any other country right now. No need to confuse yourself anymore.
