1441  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 5 truths about bitcoin, in my opinion? on: August 12, 2022, 07:11:51 AM
Tell that to the people who bought bitcoin even at cycle peaks pre-2017. Not sure if they necessarily got rich because it will completely depend on how much capital you allocated, but I'm pretty sure a of them are doing well if they just held.
The issue is that many people are in bitcoin for maybe a year and never really even saw one full cycle. Also many think that the cycles are the same, but actually each cycle is way higher on the chart than the one before, even if the cycles are a little bit the same anytime.
I would guess that the cycles are growing smaller as well. Like when it moved from just under a dollar to over 30 dollars that was x30+ and more, which means when it moved from 100 bucks or so to 1400 dollars in 2014 that was also a bit 14x give or take, and when it moved from 700 dollars to 20k that was about a good chunk I will have to agree with that, but then we moved from 10k to 60k which was just 6x, 7x if you count 68k as 70k.

As we can see, people who are investing now, will still make a good money, better than any stock they can pick or gold, but it wouldn't be as good as the early birds who made x100 and then some on their bitcoin if they are still holding it.
1442  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: August 11, 2022, 09:10:42 PM
Bayern Munich does not have too much trouble winning the Bundesliga title. But on the other hand, Real Madrid has some stiff competition in La Liga. So Real Madrid is better prepared to take on a team that is as strong as theirs, if not stronger. But on the other hand, Bayern Munich gets it easy the whole season. Therefore, they are not well prepared to take on a team that is almost as strong as them.

Obviously, Real Madrid has always played as a team. But Bayern Munich wins a lot of matches based on solo plays. And I have always liked the “never give up” attitude of Real Madrid.
We have two European leagues on same level and mostly dominating by only two teams which are Bayern Munich here in Germany and PSG in French League things could be not different in future for them as they are still in good shape and having few quality players those are going to do something good in this Bundesliga even Champions League is completely different but here no team is in good shape even Borussia Dortmund was having some good preparation but sadly due to Haller issue now they are badly down and have few chances for surviving at top.

Start is also good for both teams with Borussia Dortmund beats Leverkusen and Bayern Munich completely destroy his opponent. There were few expectations from Leipzig, but we have to wait for their results in next few rounds so can they give challenge to any top team.
1443  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: August 11, 2022, 05:25:16 PM
Kyrgios has momentum, he is playing great, had his chance against Djokovic as well, and won all other matches since Wimbledon

not sure about winning Montreal, but after kicking out Medvedev, he has an open road to final stages, and that could be an easy task, if he continues this way

as I already said, Medvedev is not no.1 potential, he ended up there as coincidence
Yeah, I do agree that Nick has now the momentum and I will be riding on his in this tournament. Maybe bet on him if the player that he will be facing is not name Djkovic or Nadal.

As for Medvedev, another disastrous year for him, probably a number 1 seed that is not as consistent as the others before him who become the top seed, like the big 3. Still though, he will have to prove himself again in the next tournament.
In last few weeks, we are having some good changes in Nick Kyrgios, and now he is doing amazing game after losing final against Djokovic in Wimbledon now he is on winning streak and with this win against Medvedev now his confidence and game is on their high level if he is going to play like this for some more time then surely he is going to be at top with some great results and here in this tournament he can win his second title in a row.

Medvedev is surely one of the best player in current era but sadly due to some trouble and restrictions he is facing some trouble, but soon he can fight back and can give his best for the game.
1444  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Eth could take over BTC or not on: August 10, 2022, 09:38:30 PM
If you ask me that question, I would say that your expectation is too high. I think Etherium never can take over btc and I also think Ethereum can be replaced by someone else. Currently, if Ethereum would  take over Bitcoin, it price have to be increase about   13.73x.  I also think for the dominance of bitcoin it also not possible on future.
I would like to say that as gold and silver can never be one and also silver can never take over gold, just like Etherium can never take over bitcoin.  That because they each have specific purposes and features
I do agree that taking over bitcoin is something that ethereum will not do for a long time. I am not saying that it is impossible but that is too much of a goal for it right now. Best thing is to go up together, maybe after 2.0 it could have a good increase that will see them closer.

At some point, it reached to a point where it was just double the marketcap and we believed that it was getting there, with the proof of stake increase, if the gas price stays low when there is a lot of attention then it could actually get enough people to spend their ethereum as well. But that doesn't change the fact that it will be a tough thing to achieve for now.
1445  Economy / Economics / Re: Singapore to unveil plans to becoming a Bitcoin hub on: August 10, 2022, 09:05:24 PM
I'm skeptical about these claims of countries becoming "bitcoin hubs" (whatever that really means), because it seems like I've heard this story before and it just sounds to me like they're trying to ride the wave of something very popular but without doing anything lasting or even meaningful.

It's kind of like how every business and a lot of altcoins are jumping on the NFT bandwagon to attract newcomers, which I think is complete garbage--because IMO NFTs are complete garbage.  We'll see where Singapore stands with bitcoin in five years, because that'll show whether they meant what they said, and only time is going to determine that.  Right now it's just a lot of words.
The main reason for that is the fact that we have seen a lot of them claim something like this before and fail, and since we saw them fail before, that ends up causing us to not believe that they would do it now. I do agree that it is not going to be easy, but it could be done. I mean maybe it hasn't been done before, but if you do legal leeway, like not force them too much and very low taxes, or even no taxes at all then it could work.

But, you also need to make sure that you help them out. I do not know how, but convincing them to change the nation they are in and go to Singapore is a very hard ask, so they need to give some incentives as well to make that work as well.
1446  Economy / Economics / Re: Surprisingly, Elon's Tesla is not so keen on hodling BTC anymore on: August 10, 2022, 06:03:19 PM
Musk is playing with market ....I believe one should be as influential as Musk - his one word can move the market upside down.

This is how fortune favors some daring people and Musk is one of them - more power to you man
No, I believe NOT. His "one word" could move shitcoins like Dogecoin, or it might move Bitcoin for one hour, but the market always prices information in. Elon Musk will become irrelevant, HAS ACTUALLY become irrelevant to Bitcoin and the market in general, than when Tesla announced their sale of their Bitcoins, the market didn't react negatively. In fact, it reacted positively. Bitcoin is higher than Tesla's sell price.
He has become irrelevant because of the fact that he is not tweeting about it anymore. But, if he starts doing that again and again like crazy, then he will probably make the markets go crazy too. I know that it is not something we should look forward to, I dislike the guy as much as the next person and even though he created two companies that are amazing, he just took over them and not the actually founder of these companies at all, he is just the investor to them and nothing more.

In the end, he has power, we do not want him to have that power but unfortunately, he does have that power and that makes things a lit bit difficult for people like me and you.
1447  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When will people finally abandon Tron? on: August 09, 2022, 07:26:30 PM
some time ago I analyzed tron. and i discovered the potential that tron will have a surprise sometime. where the price will skyrocket. Maybe not now. but just look. because tron has been in the sideways lane for too long. then of course after a long sideways will usually be followed by a tantalizing increase. let's see.
Same with me. Tron is being talked a lot before and I think it's going to be the next big thing but I guess the op was right that all of it are just hype. Since when tron became sideways again? If it's before this bear takes place then I think that was already permanent but if it's still doing fine before the bear then there's a chance that its value can improve.

Some people abandoned tron already while there are some isn't because they still believe that this coin can boom like the belief they have in bitcoin and other more potential coins. While there are those who use tron for payment purposes only like in gambling and can care less about its future price since they can just convert later on right after they gamble.
1448  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Don't sit on your hands on: August 09, 2022, 03:33:23 PM
I don't think Bitcoin will ever hit 10k. But currently, Bitcoin is between $22,000 and $23,000.In the meantime came up to 17 thousand dollars. But it did not wait there for a long time and the market went up very quickly. If you want to invest, you must invest with your head and analysis and see a good time, don't rely on your hands all the time. You can never invest on your own hands.
Having our own analysis can help us decide on when is the right timing for us to buy. If you're going to hold for long period, a price decrease even a bit will do since its not for short term investment. The problem for some investors are they're waiting for the real bottom not knowing they already missed the opportunity to buy. On the other side, DCAing is a good strategy so we dont need to concern ourselves for the current price.
That’s the benefit of being a long term investor. If you are doing something that is beneficial for you like long term investment, then all those things that "should" hurt you like a short term drop would not matter to you. Like I have been holding for a few years now, saw it go up a lot, saw it go down a lot and none of that mattered to me, I was of course happy when it went up but didn't sell much.

So, people who are long term will not be caring for the drops there are in the price of bitcoin or anything else. This is the approach you could have during bear markets like now, you could buy as much as you can and wait for the long term profits.
1449  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Market Sentiment Infographic for August on: August 09, 2022, 09:35:25 AM
We have witnessed bear markets pump and dumps before which were caused by whales and cryptofunds like Alameda Research through their use of manipulation and leverage. Also, similar to you, I also become very skeptical when analysts like Tom Lee go to CNBC and declare that the bear market is over hehehe.
I personally do not think it could be over just because someone said it. But I do feel like it is over right now not because someone said it but because I think it has been long enough time. Like if the drop started on November, and there was a bit of increase on December then I would totally understand why people may think it is just a dead cat bounce.

But, it happened during early November and has been going down ever since and we are now in august, that means it has been 10 months, nearly a year since the drop, we are getting there. I do not believe that bitcoin stays low for that long, it eventually recovers and we are there about right now and will go up again soon.
1450  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: the most bullish altcoin of the week? on: August 08, 2022, 08:49:25 PM
One of the reasons why I chose crypto investing is that here it is pretty clear which way the market is headed. Like, I can confidently bet on Phaver, just because it is: a) something about simple earnings; b) DAO project. That’s it Smiley
So which way the market is heading now, if you think that cryptos are truly predictable? Maybe you would say it will go upwards just because you see that some coins are continuously increasing right?

But, there is no guarantee if they really can continue till a new bull run. We have experienced a bull trap a couple of times before so I believe the same scenario can happen again plus many believe that the bottom is not reach yet for some coins. What is that phase you are talking about there anyway? I think that's a new coin and how can it compete with the others if it can only offer simple earnings? Having a dao isn't also new but I do like dao-based projects.
1451  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can trading be likened to gambling and how so? on: August 08, 2022, 08:20:46 PM
I don't think trading is the same as gambling.
In trading, it is we who will determine the profit or loss. if you want to get out of a trade you made at a loss of course you do it on your own. it's not a matter of luck or a guess.
In gambling, when you place a bet, you have no control over your bet. It is the results published by the bookie that will determine your fate whether you will win or lose.
I guess the two are completely different.
It's already given above that they have some similarities but not completely the same. In trading, I thought you are the one who determines your outcome? So, why say trade at a loss? It's possible to incur a loss in trading because we don't have a full control with it but it was the market.

You only compare trading with sports betting but what about casino games? When you are betting multiple times and you use the autobet function, it is always possible to stop it before you lose all your balance. In sports betting, there is also multi bets and there is an option to cash out early but the profits that you will be getting is much lesser.
1452  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Just my one cent advice on: August 08, 2022, 05:20:41 PM
Anyone noticing new projects still raising millions of dollars? Mohash and Dynamic for example, I think new projects will replace lots of top altcoins in coming years and my advice to young investors is to find new projects to mix with their portfolio, remember that Matic, Polkadot, Avalnache are once all new projects in 2018/2019..
Your advice is certainly understandable in terms of investing in what is new to the blockchain. But at the same time, as newcomers will look for these projects, because this requires analysis and understanding of what benefits the project will bring to the cryptocurrency industry. Everything that you mentioned has already been successfully used and developed further. You need something really new and useful to use, and then it will be a worthwhile investment.
If the newbies do not realize that they need to first understand blockchain and understand what crypto is all about, and learn from the mistakes of others that was done before they get in, before they start to make any investments, then they are going to be forced for a rude wake up call.

This doesn't mean that they can't get lucky, there are times during the bull market that plenty of newbies make stupid investments to shitty stuff and just because it is the bull market the prices go up and they make a profit. But that is not all the time and only during the bull market, which means that they will not have the second chance to do something like that again.
1453  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I have started teaching Bitcoin to my Neighbors on: August 07, 2022, 08:12:02 PM
You should tell them how you earn with bitcoin and make them aware about what you've been doing for 6 years is not that simple. The only reason why those parents agreed to teach their kids is they think that you can easily earn from it since you are doing it at the comfort of your home. They should be aware that bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are not a get rich-quick scheme like how some of the investment schemes portray it.
I think that was a personal matter already so it's not needed and maybe someone can get obsessed with you and plan to do a bad thing once they figured out that you made tons of money already with it. This is why it's still better to be humble and just do your main prospects which is to teach them about btc.

Their parents agree because they know the guy already. Another thing is the lecture is done inside the subdivision so they are sure to be safe. Don't worry the op is not going to tell it, that btc is a quick rich scheme because as you can see in his pic, he started with the basics and then list down what things can we do with a btc.
1454  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: which token should I use for my investment ? on: August 06, 2022, 11:23:35 AM
Without some amount of skill and knowledge it is impossible to discern if the advice that we are being given is any good or not, and by the time we can tell if what we are being told is good advice or not then we do not need the advice anymore as now we are perfectly able to find opportunities in the markets on our own, it is paradoxical but that is the truth and almost all of those which ask similar questions simply do not have what it takes to trade the markets and they know it, which is why they think they can take a shortcut and make profits that way.
Maybe you shouldn't take any advice at all then, if you want time, then the best thing to do would be making sure that you are looking into the things, and if you personally are looking into it, then you would be able to have all the time in the world.

I know I have taken over 6 months to take a look at a project before I got in once, I usually do not take that long but I wanted to see how they really are and every movement they made, and that usually ends with me not being that much shocked with anything, but I was and that resulted with me realizing that they are actually legit, I thought they weren't and that’s the point here, and not really saying it was a bad idea, because I could have been early, but I still think it was decent enough.
1455  Economy / Economics / Re: TOPIC: Pros and Cons of saving fiat versus saving Bitcoin in this current econom on: August 05, 2022, 06:18:09 PM
7 Bitcoin ensures ease to do business with both local and international parties that involve huge amounts of cash, without having to incur heavy charges considering the volatility of the exchange rate, unlike fiat money.
I do not know how this sentence can be true, as the Bitcoin propagation globally is still in the beginning stage and it is impossible to compare it with the prophecy of paper money that has hundreds and perhaps thousands of years.

In general, Bitcoin is an idea and carries a high risk, so if you want to invest, you must understand all the risks before you deposit your money and invest wisely and not recklessly.
That was true and one example is when a whale sends btc to someone else where he will only pay cents for the fee. Imagine how convenient was that? But, if this happens with other payment methods then I think so many stuffs must be done first and then the fees are also going to be expensive. Bitcoin is not new but it had existed here for I think 13 years already and with that time span, many things have happened already.

Btc and fiat have some similarities and both has their pros and cons too. This is why they are always being compared by the masses. Btc was once an idea but have came to reality already. It's now a product but yes its risk is high than in fiat. People should be aware with that.
1456  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Be a wise investor on: August 04, 2022, 07:18:06 PM
When we enter Cryptocurrencies, the important thing is to be ready with risks, many people are too ambition to profit so that they sell anything, but when they see the facts of the price down then they panic and immediately sell at a low price or loss, this is a mistake, and as an investor thing The most important thing when seeing the red market is patient.
Greed is our biggest enemy in this market, if everyone can control greed then I believe many people will become billionaires from crypto industry. With just controlling our emotions and being patient, we can very easily make a profit in the market, but unfortunately, very few people do this.
From the famous words of Gordon Gekko, greed is good. It just depends on how you channel it. For example, in that sense we had a lot of assistant managers who spent a lot of money on personal corporate card, all the messaging between them cost the company money, here it is "wise" investor who would be greedy but in the right way. So if you could keep doing that, I would believe that you could keep doing even more.

This is a very vital part of crypto where you do not get "greedy" by making idiotic moves, it just doesn't make sense, but if you end up making a smart move like buying bitcoin and waiting then you could actually make a good profit from it.
1457  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: August 03, 2022, 09:28:31 PM
Messi is now 35. I don't think he will be fit for a Premier League team at the age of 37 after his contract with PSG ends. The Premier League is highly competitive. And if you want to perform well in the Premier League, you must be fit. Keeping fit at 37 years old is very difficult. I think Messi will extend his contract with PSG or join a Bundesliga team.
Right now, as things are going most chances we will have Messi here at PSG until end of his career or very few chances Barcelona will try to bring him back for his farewell which was not happened in last season when the transfer happened there is no chance for him to go into Premier League or any other league because at the end of this contract he is going to be 37 which is surely age when mostly players decide about their retirement and their body is not also they have at their best on all players can go through like Zlatan Ibrahimović who is giving his best at the age of 40.

Messi is going to be vital for PSG in this season because here management is also doing some good developments which can bring better results for them and this could be vital for all parties in coming days.
1458  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: August 03, 2022, 09:11:51 PM
Jamie Vardy is a very sharp and balance striker which knows the nuts and screws of the game. He's well skilled with the ball and also an agressive player at that, Leicester haven't been doing well in the past seasons due to their inconsistency in winning games. It's been a long while Leicester won a trophy and their Leicester boss, Brendan Rodgers is seeking to restrategize his squad once more and get to look for new talents elsewhere. Chelsea going in for Jamie Vardy isn't a welcome idea, rather it's totally not in Todd's plan or Tuchel to bring him in.
Jamie Vardy's achievement and stay at Leicester City amazing and these are never been forgettable because he is one of the best striker in English Premier League and still has few years in his best form but sadly right now his club is struggling badly with have poor positions in last two season and now Kasper is also already leave which is going to have big impact on them for their future, their inconsistency is also big problem because they have no enough quality players and alone Vardy is not able to handle things in positive way.

Now, this season is going to be decisive for the Leicester City can they hold him anymore or his also going to any other good club for rest of his career because he deserves some better than his current situation and still few years left in his career which can help any good club for having good record for winning big achievements.
1459  Other / Archival / Re: Most crypto-friendly economies in the world on: August 03, 2022, 07:48:50 PM
In my opinion Australia is the most friendly country with Cryptocurrencies, as evidenced by many big projects from Doge until now from Australia, maybe the market capitalization is still under other countries but Crypto users in Australia continue to increase.
How come when Australia is only ranked as top 4 according on the op's list? Although if we look on the detailed stats. The first few countries in the list had some smaller score (value's) as when compared to Australia but some numbers on Australia are also lower than the others. I think that can make sense on why Australia can't be on the top or first in the list. And so what if there are a lot of doge coin projects from this country?

I think that is not so proudful as we know dogecoin is being hated by the many but id be more happier to know that fact if the coin that we are talking about are bitcoin, ethereum or even other top coins as long as it's not a meme coin.
1460  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Btc not moving but we need every day some moves where the moves? on: August 03, 2022, 07:08:10 PM
Bitcoin will pump at it's due time bro, so it doesn't matter weather you say you need pump or not, because to me, bitcoin is the surest long term investment that you don't have to be afraid of been scammed, as it has been in existence for quite a long while, tested and trusted. So if you are looking for a massive pump just like you said, go for shitcoins where you could either make massive gain or lose massively, the choice is yours. Because Bitcoin is an investment for the patient and diligent
It really does matter to him. He needs a pump because he badly needs a money but for some, it doesn't really since most of us here are patient enough and we also invest money which we won't really be needing so that when it times we need money we still have something that we can get out of our pocket and no need for us to sell our btc at a loss.

Like you said, btc can pump on the right time and its pump is also massive so there is no need for you to suggest shitcoins to him as they are a pure gamble. Not all of them can pump but when they did, I still don't think that their pumps are much bigger than on what bitcoin has to offer.
