481  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: HELP ! Fee much higher than transaction ! on: December 09, 2017, 03:45:00 PM
Thanks for the explanation, now this makes sense

I always assumed that the sender was the person paying the fees, not the persons receiving the money. Thanks for letting me know about this, indeed I was receiving micro payments from a company.

I think you still misunderstood something ... the above thought is correct. It's always the sender who pays the fee.
482  Other / Off-topic / Re: Trezor vs Ledger wallet? on: December 09, 2017, 03:22:29 PM
Both are more or less same (using BIP32/39 and 44 ) ....  see e.g this https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=644755.0 for more details

BTW, there is also keepkey

Are you able to sign a message using this address? 1KfqwpeeW3znUHLSE9wFk4NdKME9y3UHbm If yes, then follow the given instructions here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=497545.0

When you say..sign a message..do you mean my Email???

no, he meant this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=990345.0
FYI: you need to know the private key of that address to be able signing a message.
484  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: HELP ! Fee much higher than transaction ! on: December 09, 2017, 01:17:55 PM
I'll try it another way.

Transaction inputs  (transactions you have received into your adress) will not "melt together". They stay separated (same as banknotes in your regular physical wallet).
Your balance is sum of all these (unspend) inputs.

Once you want to spend entire balance you need to take every sigle input (banknote) and treat it separately.

Just to add: if you still want to use the service which gave you these small inputs then it's better sending them into wallet which is using "central processing" (I'm not sure if this is correct term)  e.g. coinbase
485  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: HELP ! Fee much higher than transaction ! on: December 09, 2017, 12:40:39 PM
So I should have switch off dynamics fees, probably that was the problem !

Crap I just updated to Electrum 3 and forgot to do that shit, my fault

Even so, I don't really understand how the transaction is 3 Kb for a $10 value !!?! Can't you complain to someone about this ?

No the problem was your transaction had 10 small inputs (some faucet earnings or w/e).
Number of inputs increase the transaction size (complexity) thus making harder to process thus you are charged with higher fee. In addition you were unlucky sending it when blockchain is overloaded (but true is the blockchain is overloaded constantly last few months).

You can try sending with lesser than recommended fee, but risking your transaction will never confirm (and funds will be returned back to sending address)  or it will take long time.

I'll recommend you to bookmark this page https://bitcoinfees.earn.com/ and check actual fee size required for quick tx processing before sending.
486  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: December 09, 2017, 11:07:44 AM
just notice bitmain still sell D3 on website lol, Really ? some people continue to buy it?

They are this site..in everything but name only.....toaster city, the stuff is pop'd out like toasters at Walmart out the door!

https://tulipmining.com/

Nice joke. I enjoyed the part "... It’s the culmination of over 24 hours research and development ..."
What an enormous development Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

On a serious note...can we really, really not say, that this was NOT bitmain's strategy all along....I notice they never commited to their own big D3 data hall.

(feel used, as I do the asic equiv of the walk of shame thru a frat house...D3 morning after regret.......)

I'm still convinced they are just following the demand (as anyone else would do). If there would be no demand they would not manufacture them. Simple as that.
So blame the greedy people for current situation not bitmain.

And why they didn't build a D3 datahall? Just guessing they realized where it's heading after few sold batches.
487  Economy / Reputation / Re: Profile - trust on: December 09, 2017, 11:04:38 AM
that is, now I have a spoiled reputation for these people. How can I return to 0 at least?

Vod is the one who gave you this rating with reason you are making shitposts ( one line posts etc.).
You can discuss with him. But I guess you have not much chances to succeed unless you improve yourpost quality.

Have to say I agree with him because constant posting in off-topic section makes no contribution to community.

489  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 70 confirmations but i have not received the bitcoin... on: December 09, 2017, 10:26:58 AM
OK, glad to hear.

Just for the record.
Synced wallet has a green circle at bottom right corner ( if it's red then the wallet is not synced ... thus showing you not relevant data).
And it's not necessary to restart after each transaction ... something went wrong ... but coins arrived so no big issue.
490  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 70 confirmations but i have not received the bitcoin... on: December 09, 2017, 09:55:21 AM
More details required. Which wallet you are using? Is the wallet up to date? Synchronized?

492  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why does wallet public address keep changing ? on: December 09, 2017, 09:40:05 AM
Privatekey is the key to bitcoins held by associated address ... aka it's very important to keep it safe.
You can use it when you want to start using different wallet or if you want to claim forked coins like BCH and BTG (import or sweep privatekey into another wallet).
493  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: FreeBitco.in - Win free Bitcoins every hour! on: December 09, 2017, 08:46:30 AM
It is just bytes in a computer though.

It's "money" made out of thin air based on nothing. Prove me otherwise.

True, but how do you think the current fiat is made?  Used to be covered by gold, but not anymore. Your bank account is using the very same "bytes in a computer".
The difference is banks can create as many fiat money as they can (with some small limitations of course) contrary BTC has given supply and fixed ceiling.

EDIT, but this is off topic. Create special thread about and I'll gladly discuss this with you.
494  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone else feel unsettled about recent price? on: December 09, 2017, 08:40:48 AM
...snip...
You can see all the altcoins price are dumped when the bitcoin price increased. So the price will dump or crash after the fork.

I don't think this is in correlation. Altcoins price in USDs remained more or less same. The price dump is result of rising BTC price (in USDs)
495  Other / Off-topic / Re: Flat Earth on: December 09, 2017, 08:24:20 AM
The isn't flat it's hollow

No, it's a bowl  Cheesy  ... tough I'm not sure on which side we are located.
496  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What to do with the people who don't like Bitcoin? on: December 09, 2017, 08:00:38 AM
What would you do when you're talking to someone but then he suddenly talks about his hatred on Bitcoin, what would you react to it?

I've never actually experienced anything like this before, I just want to be prepared when it happened to me.

Nothing ... just let them be. Sooner or later they will start to envy you and crawl back begging to give them some ... happend to me  Cheesy
Myself quit promoting BTC year ago because the reactions were mostly negative (but people I convince to get in are supper happy now ... making me happy as well).
497  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to trade cash to BTC ? on: December 09, 2017, 07:41:45 AM
...
I meet with him, we go to internet club and he transfer the btc from his wallet to mine. And after I see the transfer I give him the cash ? Or how it should do ?
...

Yes, this is correct way. To be sure wait for more confirmations ... 3 and more (buy a cup of coffee or beer while waiting)

Also you can try localbitcoins if there are any other sellers nearby your location who is willing to meet with you.
498  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to start ? on: December 09, 2017, 07:29:34 AM
Ask yourself how easy is to earn 20k USD .... it's not ... same applies to BTC.

IMO coders have a big advantage earning BTC, but you can rent other skills if you have any (writing, graphic design, transaltion .. etc.). Lurk around service section for options https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=52.0
Quite popular is participating in signature campaigns (but I'm strongly against because it already ruined the forum quality)

499  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone else feel unsettled about recent price? on: December 09, 2017, 07:13:02 AM
Feel the same. I considered the first jump (to 7k) as suspicious ... I have strong  feeling too many speculators joined the club and big correction is inevitable sooner or later (hope I'm wrong)
500  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Interested to start mining - need your HELP guys~! on: December 09, 2017, 07:06:20 AM
With GPUs you are going to mine altcoins .... thus you should move topic to proper section: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=160.0  (to move topic use bottom left link).

I think https://whattomine.com can help you with the ROI calculation
