481  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin Doomed ? on: March 18, 2020, 01:16:12 PM
1 year ago it was 3500$ I wouldn't call that doomed, but a good investement.
Yeah, it's not really doomed judging by yearly historical data. Last time it went below its yearly ATH was I think 5 years ago (2015). It's ok as long as there is volume and activity in the market.
I don't know why we are panicking, the world economy is crashing ,what do people expect crypto to do? Keep increasing? No. It's a store value, people are cashing out to get themselves supplies for self isolation.
482  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [WARNING] FAKE TRADING PLATFORM on: March 18, 2020, 07:14:42 AM
Every offer of something free should be a red light IMHO
Especially if they offer big crypto like BTC or ETH
It shouldn't be about offering free things, it's about the conditions attached to getting the freebies. Airdrop is also as close been called a free earning, just that it comes little task/effort. Imagine a project asking for a deposit of an equivalent amount of the airdrop, demanding KYC for a reward that's almost valueless. And some greedy people will still allow themselves to get scammed by this scammers.
483  Other / Meta / Re: Mass emailing to all users about the accounts recovery procedure on: March 18, 2020, 06:51:04 AM
I think staking a bitcoin address to be able to sign a message during hacks is the best and quicker method to recover accounts. And I recommend having email alerts, it help a lot
I simply believe, whoever encourage to stay on forum they will return even hack their main account. After hack if someone don't wanna back it does mean he isn't much more interested to forum.

Because he hasn't spend time gaining knowledge here and probably after earning pennies here as he was told. All they do is create a new account and don't mind starting afresh.

487  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: COVID-19 and its effect in Gambling World on: March 13, 2020, 12:57:03 PM
Yes that possibility will happen, Casinos are very popular among the gamblers because of the interaction and you're more immerse in gambling, Lung cancer is a common thing in the casino because of the place is very enclosed and the air just circulates around it and covid will definitely spread if there is a infected among them, so they will rather go into digital gambling or online gambling rather than going to casino, and it's a good thing to crypto and to the world.
488  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you stop gambling in a time of crisis? on: March 13, 2020, 06:48:00 AM
I don't stop gambling maybe i just limit on the amount on what i gamble, especially when there is a financial problem in our family, or like now there is covid spreading in our country and we are in need of food supply and groceries so we need to gather them. If i know if there is a problem or crisis happening i set aside my gambling or maybe stop it for a while, i think gambling keeps us to gamble more because we are hoping we can double our money in our hands and that mindset keeps us from gambling. But if you can still gamble if there is a crisis that's definitely addiction that needs to be rehabilitated.
489  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling addiction threads on: March 13, 2020, 04:03:22 AM
Those threads helps me realize what's wrong about myself and what should i do to limit my addiction to gambling, those threads are real life scenarios and it's good that they cope up with their addiction, Because gambling is a dangerous kind of addiction you won't stop until you win or until your money depletes because it gives some kind of euphoria when you win something and it will make you gamble more, it slowly destroy your system and immerse you in gambling more and more so i'm looking in opinions of others so knowing that i'm not the only one experiencing it.

492  Other / Meta / Re: Merits did help to stop hate on this forum on: March 06, 2020, 08:15:47 PM
Guessed you must have missed a lot. There are still hates like they were before and it's mostly between some higher rank members which gives opportunities to some newbies accounts to start trolling around.
The merit system plays no role in stopping hates or trolls. The only system that plays little part of the role is the trust system.
493  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 2 Chinese charged with laundering money from exchange hack on: March 06, 2020, 06:38:29 PM
I still find it amazing how NoKor keeps on pulling the strings to make their moves outside their country and not get caught sooner. Their relationship with large banks and other organizations/institutions is unbelievable too, so much that they managed to amass hundreds of millions of dollars through illegal activity without hitting any red flags. That's why I always look up to the North Koreans as extremely cunning and dangerous even though their country is deprived of anything to the outside world. Good thing their moves are snooped by the authorities even though they initially used bitcoin to cover tracks first. I just wonder what certain cryptocurrency ezchange are they talking about anyway?

Something tells me that these North Koreans couldn't have made this hack successful if not with the assistance of experts from other countries. This launder attempt by Chinese individuals in behalf of the North Korean hackers who stole the funds speaks of possible connections other than this one. They could have been partners way back then. A hundred million USD won't be entrusted to these Chinese for laundering if they were not very trusted individuals.

I have serious doubts that ordinary North Koreans can pull off such huge operation all by themselves. It is either they are connected to their government itself or at least supported by certain powerful persons inside or they have the backing of foreign nationals, probably Chinese, who are knowledgeable enough about such operations.
This is so true. Something always tells me this everytime there's an exchange hack. These hacks can't be successful without the help of an insider.
It will be really difficult for them to sell now since their addresses is being monitored.
Good, fuck these guys and all thieves, the worst thing crypto has done is unfortunately attract scum. This however is just a byproduct of advancement in technology, just as the internet brought a sea of thieves online scamming people half a world away.
Not the internet. It's people's greed. There's has been bad happenings even before the internet.
494  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Sad News]: Nigerian shot dead after resisting robbers access to crypto phone on: March 06, 2020, 06:05:59 PM
I'm sure there won't be any thing the law enforcement is going to do do about this since crypto isn't legalized in Nigeria. Read sometimes ago about kidnappers asking for BTC as ransom.
I think the best way is to remain anonymous and not let any one especially strangers know you're into cryptocurrency.

496  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if Bitcoin Gets Centralized Through Massive Mergers on: March 06, 2020, 10:30:04 AM
That's not how centralisation works. There's a transfer of ownership of Steem because the identity of the CEO or whatever is known. But as for BTC, you can't say you want to buy the company because of the way it's being programmed and the founder is also an anonymous figure. The code cannot be edited.
497  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency vs. Fiat currency. on: March 06, 2020, 06:27:18 AM
Both of these currencies need each other. We need fiat whenever we want to purchase bitcoin and we also spend fiat every day. Not every physical shops accepts crypto as payment.
Binance which is also a big exchange has fiat deposit and withdrawal in it.
TBH, most people hold crypto just to make profit, they don't really use it as payment. They would rather use credit card.
498  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if Bitcoin is used in direct value. on: March 05, 2020, 11:25:22 PM
I'm sure about you haven't known this as a ranked snr member of this forum
Bitcoin can be converted to and withdraw as fiat on Binance. Currencies like RUB, UAH, EUR, KZT and some others.
And you want to spend, then some shops in some countries are already accepting BTC as payment with the aid of the lightning network. More about bitcoin lightning network here:

499  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Don't hate long term promotions on: March 05, 2020, 09:21:51 PM
I dont really mind the duration of bounties campaign. But imagine if you run 16 weeks bounty campaign and ended into scam. It make me stressed if that scenario happen and no one want to face that scenario. The duration is not really matter but the authenticy is matter.

Authenticity isn't enough, a project might be too authentic with poor allocation. I've seen many 12 weeks bounties with just less than 100k$ allocation.
I or they could really give their participant the promised reward.

Giving reward from shitty allocation or nearly worthless reward too also bad.
I've seen a project that gave their hunters a different token and later swapped and promised hunters they were going to swap it for them but they didn't.
500  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Don't hate long term promotions on: March 05, 2020, 12:35:42 PM
Short term or long term, it's better to stick with short term bounties with good allocation rather than long term bounties. You wouldn't want to give your signature space to a long campaign that will end up disappointing. You could have used that duration to run two bounties.
Since 2018 most projects I promoted are up to 12weeks long duration and that doesn't bother me, the most annoying part is never getting paid after the long session, nothing is wrong joining such bounties it's just that most times it's a waste of time, since bounty hunting is all about luck's now I have no complains, just choose what suits you
I think you promote a wrong projects back in 2018, there are many promising projects back in 2018, almost all of them reached it's soft cap. Its the time also were the market are hype. Long term duration of the projects doesn't matter for me if I know that the project will give the payouts and their coins is valuable. Nowadays, we must choose the right project we want to promote if we don't want to waste the time and effort we used. It's not easy today to earn money unlike we used to.

You're wrong here. ICOs started performing poorly after second quarter of 2018, that was shortly after the 2017 bull run.
You must have been so lucky to have joined those project that did well.
