501  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does BITCOIN make a person's life better !? on: March 20, 2021, 10:19:19 PM
If you look thoroughly, then BITCOIN is just money, but like money, can it improve the world around, and humanity as a whole !?
I don’t think “good” and “BITCOIN” are the same thing, most likely the opposite.
Because of money, a person becomes weaker, he does not need to do something, to develop, because money will do it for him.

We want success in our lives, who would've want failures right? If somehow we have made it (our goals in life), we are happy. To attain those happiness we make decisions in our lives, now Bitcoin somehow is a trend rightnow, I can't pinpoint when this actually started but we are waiting for it to be successful, also at that time we had already invested in it. It's not just money that makes us happy, being part of a great success is one in a life time experience, and it gives us unique happiness. I am very happy right now and then, because I was able to know Bitcoin and rest of the crypto currencies.
502  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What wallet has the most crypto alts supported with the lowest fees to swap? on: March 20, 2021, 06:05:31 PM
I'm using Exodus right now. Lots of coins I want to trade for are often chronically not available. Like ADA is "temporarily unavailable" but it's been like that for a week or more.

First and only wallet so I'm not sure how the trading fees compare to other wallets for swapping coins.

Maybe we will wait for you to search do it yourself as some of us here are also waiting for answers. There should be a list of trusted wallets and their respective fees. That could've been a great help to the community, or maybe it is now existing at this moment but we did not manage to encounter it. I don't use any other wallet aside from.our local ones, just avoiding future problems with foreign wallets.
503  Economy / Economics / Re: How much can you make by saving and compounding on: March 20, 2021, 05:31:30 PM
wallstreet learned this lesson 100 years ago..
wall street doesnt hoard/hodl
they day trade.
because they have such low fees because they are at the central partnership with exchanges they day trade at the micro penny level. taking small amounts 0.05% every hour which add up and add up(1.2%/day)

i learned this lesson in 2012
well. kinda. as i only play with a small percentage of my hoard to avoid risk
but that small allotment .. i dont just leave it on an exchange doing nothing for 100 days hoping to 2x those funds. instead i day traded it
1% a day is better then waiting 100 days for 100%
5k turns to 13k by taking daily 1%..
1% movements happen soo many times its hard to avoid an oppertunity
5k turns to 10k by waiting for 100%..
100%(2x) happens so random. it can happen in 3 months or 3 years. no guarantees

so if its good for wall street. its good for smart bitcoin traders. plus its also less risky.. just dont get too greedy thinking you can micro-hodl for 5-10% or you could be losing out by waiting longer. missing out on more the 5-10 opportunities for 1%(netting you 5.1%-10.4% respectively and more frequently)

So that's why I always lose, been holding for years and waiting, yet I get nothing but loses, not only money but also time. I haven't read any tips about trading and now I am gaining some ideas that want be to cash in and day trade. I tried to day trade years ago buy failed manage get even .05 %, and it was because of lack of knowledge. I guess everything has its basics after all. I was young and naive, now I have refreshed my thoughts and itching to go out and trade some.
504  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: EVGA Supernova 1600 G2 Powering 2 GPUS and their risers from a single GPU slot on: March 20, 2021, 03:06:40 PM
I want to power 2 GPUs form 1 GPU slot.
My question is will that be safe for the PSU. Can i burn the GPU slot of the PSU if i power 2 GPUs and their risers.

I have 10 X Rx580 the miner shows avg. 92-100 W. The total system  consumes about 1250W at the wall so it must be about the real consumption of the GPUs that is show with PhoenixMiner.

As i understand from your reply one GPU slot of the PSU can handle up to 300W . This is enough for 2X RX580.

So i just need to make sure that the cable is good and i can power 2 GPUS from one slot of the PSU?

Read my post the correct answer is maybe.

You won't like the next answer.

Get a second mobo

and lower the cards to 8 on the first one.

My reasoning is a 1600 watt g2 is costly.

A smaller mobo to reduce load on the beast is smart.

Cheaper mobos using a usb stick and running smos are a better solution than what you are doing.

what does the evga 1600 watt g2 cost?  a lot  well over 350 usd

a seasonic 850 watt focus is only 150

https://www.bestbuy.com/site/seasonic-focus-gx-850-850w-80-gold-psu-full-modular-fan-control-in-fanless-silent-cooling-mode-10-yr-warranty-black/6414265.p?skuId=6414265

a mobo and a cpu a usb is pretty cheap.  pulling 2 cards from the first rig and looking for a deal on a new card is a better plan.

you end up with a 8 card and a 3 card setup and the 3 card can grow a bit more.

This is the best way to reduce your worries mate. I am mining with 8 cards, the 6 are in one mobo asrock h11 btc pro, and the other two are on a cheap mobo with affordable psu that i bought earlier.

This time around we should be practical, it's good to have someone give you ideas and I personally agrees with this one. He thing is if your are upgrading and planning to add more, then you should probably disregard this, I did this because I need to get first my ROI and wait for another year, maybe after that I am planning to add more.
505  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bank of America: It takes $93 million to move Bitcoin's price by 1%. on: March 20, 2021, 01:01:32 PM
[quote author=ConnerDalfino link=topic=5325217.msg56608735#msg5
Just imagining the amount of money of moving the price for 10 percent in just less than a day makes me wonder who the hell are those people. Sometimes I think it's just unfair, wish I have known BTC 10 years ago.
If all the billionaire's out there  put 100 million dollars each one of them, then they could really move the market in an instant. Recently I have seen a blog that most of the trades are done by common people and not by millionaires, and couldn't imagine just hoe many of them, and also I don't know for sure if it's true.
506  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which cryptocurrencies will be around in 10 years and why? on: March 19, 2021, 10:27:48 PM
Litecoin, Bitcoin, and possibly xrp.

Litecoin is much faster, cheaper to send, way undervalued, and will become scarce as institutions buy it up. It also is easier to evolve with a collaborating development team and foundation.

Bitcoin, due to being the first one and recognizable, being used as a store of value as insecurity with fiat increases, etc.

XRP because if it is adopted by banks, despite having billions of coins, could become a mainstream tool for banks, etc.

Who knows, look at it uniswap right now, lately other top ten 10 alts are stronger than any crypto out there. Now another comes a new released coin and makes it to the top ten rank.

Possiblities are everywhere, but I am feeling much safer on BTC, and eth that is why I stick to them. I have sld most of my top ten coins on the market, maybe another year would come I would ok invest in others too but for now it's my comfort zone being on these two.
507  Economy / Economics / Re: Free Market Efficiency vs GPU Scalpers 2 on: March 19, 2021, 08:57:08 PM
Are people actually squirreling away that many GPUs?  I've been watching Youtube videos about the GPU shortage and none of them have mentioned anything like that.  I had assumed the scalpers were just individuals with enough cash to snap up a handful or two of the most popular models and then selling them at jacked up prices on eBay.  If there are large-scale operators hoarding GPUs like that, I'd love to read about it.

This is all the result of having a free market, by the way and I'm not sure anything should be done about it except for manufacturers upping the supply and maybe do a pre-order system or something.  I know gamers are pissed off because of this, but I'm happy I was able to get my gaming computer that I don't use for gaming that has an RTX 3080 in it!  That thing crunches Folding@Home problems like a beast.
If that was true, then that is not just any scalper because that is definitely a syndicate and I think that the only way to defeat this kind of thing that is happening is to create more GPUs and to limit the buy order for GPU per person.

It is getting worst, I was happy when I saw prices of gpu last year was affordable in our place but now, it's doubled the price. And guess what, there none to buy at this moment of time. Scalpers are the worst, and the dealers don't bother limiting a single guy purchasing most of the cards. I see post of facebook that scalpers posting brand new gpu's for sale and no limit at all, it's like a network of scaplers and they now what to do, it's nearly like dealing with drugs but the thing is it's not illegal and noe actions were taken. I guess it's true that there are no emotions on marketing.
508  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What Is Regret Avoidance on: March 19, 2021, 06:52:03 PM
To be frank with you OP, no one will knowingly go into a deal that will later turn sour. Failure in business comes up from time to time because man isn't perfect. That's just it. We only become wiser from hindsight. What all these things boil down to is just one thing, "Emotion". Yes, it's emotion. That's what rules every decision we take, whether business or otherwise. Even when we think we can control that emotion we still end up making our decisions based on it. Emotion is what we do, emotion is human and human is emotion. The only difference between a profitable investor and one who isn't is the ability to channel that emotion to the right use.

BTW, regret is a human attribute like emotion too. I don't see how we can completely blank it out.

I agree, it's in the human nature, sometimes we need to lose to feel that we are human and learn from those loses and decisions. I think we would not be able to completely perfect our trading behaviour without experiences and it includes making wrong decisions. I've never heard of a trader that has 0 percent losing capabilities and always win all the time.
509  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC seems to be fading out and loosing popularity. on: March 19, 2021, 09:01:26 AM
A lot of people already feel left out, Almost like they have missed the opportunity to invest in bitcoin, many are looking to invest in other alt coins. I had a conversation with a friend today about Bitcoin, investment and its very high transaction fees, he expressed his displeasure saying that like him, many others that he knew are no longer considering btc to invest in, rather, they are looking to invest in other crypto's.
Do you think it is too late for someone to invest in btc? Especially when it is not a huge sum?

It is still too early to say that latecomers are already left out. I am thinking positively and hoping someday BTC could hit a million dollar each. If that happens then it's still too early to be left out when you buy at the current price of Bitcoin. Nothing is just impossible bout here, anything can happen, and there's room for growth. The fact that BTC dominance is still high is a proof Bitcoin is still a good choice for most people, new comers or the old holders.
510  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Staking is not for Muslims on: March 19, 2021, 03:25:27 AM
I don't know much of Muslim laws in the field of finance. We have a small business, buying and selling of cosmetic products, my sister-in-law invested money on us and they are gaining profits, dividends every month. The thing is they can get their money back full, and I think it's nearly same as staking. By the way her (in-laws) husband had degrees of Muslim studies and he knows about this. So I guess their are certain rules, and we must not judge on one-sided basis, showing proofs are also welcome as their are many Muslim brothers and sisters fond of crypto currencies, and I know some of them personally.

512  Economy / Economics / Re: Is there subject to study Cryptocurrency ? on: March 13, 2021, 05:37:07 PM
I don't know that this topic is suitable in Econimic or not but I had curious. I had asked this question because many people had expeiance and good knowledge of cryptocurrency And I am very Intrested in Cryptocurrency.

I had just completed my High School. And I want to build my career in this field. So I want to increase my knowledge in Cryptocurrency.
So I want to ask that Is there any subject to learn about cryptocurrency like Blockchain,Trading,Marketing,Mining, etc.
I am from Nepal and in my country there is no any eduction of such subject. So I want to go abroad country and increase my further study.
So If somebody has good knowledge about cryptocurrency subject please inform me.
It will be great help for me.

I guess there is none, never heard of it and as far as I know it would take very lon years to study starting from the basics. There are a lots of different courses, subjects that are totally mixed in. So if some one has to make a course out of it, I can't imagine how many intelligent people have to meet and come up with what to do and where to start.

514  Economy / Economics / Re: Why should i invest in bitcoin or other cryptos ? on: February 28, 2021, 10:19:06 PM
If the dividends gives you enough that you thought you wouldn't need any kind if of new investments especially crypto currencies, then it's fine. Remember that it's own choice, but this is a new beginning for the monetary system and I pretty sure would regret not giving much attention in to it when it'll be accepted by majority of the people in ok n the world. Land is a good investment, I mean it dearly but if I were you I'd invest more, that dividend of yours could make a fortune even if it is just part of it.
515  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The next PoW project - #Raptoreum on: February 27, 2021, 02:41:32 PM
Here is why I hate new PoW coins, at launch they don't always have mobile wallets, it's always windows and linux wallets which requires always at full sync before making transactions, I will never mine any new altcoins without mobile wallet at launch, wish raptoreum all the best

I totally agree, we can't bring our desktop computer or macbook all the time. Mobile wallet is recommended for new projects these time, it's handy and we can check anytime we like with mobile pps etc. I am a miner, and I do check thr status of my mined coins with my phone and with it I am make sure it's fine where ever I go.
516  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: It's become hard to understand altcoin movements. on: February 26, 2021, 03:46:42 PM
For a few months, I had far from alt trading although sometimes play with BTC/USDT trading. But due to bull markets I thought should again play with alts since whole alt markets have not yet recovered. Sadly I regret to see alt movements, it's become very hard to understand. Because when a dump happens on Bitcoin price then we encounter an immediate action in major altcoins. Alts just follow the Bitcoin trend. But surprisingly when BTC recovers after a dump, then alts aren't following bitcoin trends but still dumping more. I am not a tech guy, so just follow the trend. But seems the trend also missing lately due to alt behavior. If always happen like that then most likely I will have to lose my portfolio again like last bull in 2017.

Do you have any thoughts on how should trade with alts in this situation?

I thought I was the only one that noticed on what you have observed. My only guess is that the past altcoin holder are way too many than we havr expected. Maybe they did not yet sold their alts to cut loses but instead hodl for a time like these. Where new investors come and they have taken then choose to get out as much as they could. I also think that way, I thought my alts that I bought last 2017 was never coming back to the way it was or gain from them. I was happy to sell them with 80 percent of the original bought price, and I cash it out to start a new.

Share tayo ng knowledge guys, and help each other grow.
518  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Insane Gas Fees on: February 22, 2021, 02:47:24 PM
I'm trying to unwrap my ETH on Uniswap and its not being able to do that even with a fee of over 0.0035 ETH which is over $6.
If a simple transaction on a dex requires such fees, how could one use such dex and defi based on the platform on a long term? ETH transaction are costlier than bitcoin which is wrong in so many ways as bitcoin is nowhere a competitor to Ethereum.

It is so disappointing knowing that you should pay for gas fees like that. It could buy you a new car with that price. I think.theres something wrong going out there with the platform you are using. It's not advisable to transact with such high fees unless you are talking about millions of dollars, but for just merely few profits you could get then it's a no. Id rather wait for decongestion than to suffer with gas fees.
519  Economy / Economics / Re: Institutional investors are buying Bitcoin's future... How do we stop this? on: February 21, 2021, 01:40:11 PM
This is alarming, is it a possibility that they knew about these and keep on doing so just to make sure the experiment fails? Or is there something written in code of Bitcoin Vore to overcome such kind of problems. Maybe the creator of BTC already knew these would come and maybe came up with a plan. Talking about theories here. Or would it change the course of your theories if the bitcoin price somehow goes to 1m usd?
520  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why do you love Cardano? on: February 20, 2021, 03:29:21 AM
Got tired of ADA and moved to full-time mining. Recently sold mine to buy another GPU. Well I am thankful that even though I lost with Ada I still.manage to cut it for about 30 percent. If you are planing to hold ADA then goodluck because for almost 4 years of waiting i did not manage to get profits, too bad for me I guess.
