501  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Merry Christmas 🎄 but no fail to protect yourself on: December 25, 2023, 10:45:42 AM
When making Merry celebration like this, we need to exercise caution in most of the things we do during this period, we have to watch what we eat, where we go things we do and so on, but ket me cap them all under the following headlines below:

1. Don't post while amidst celebrating with other people
2. Don't get drunk and cone online to post as well
3. Avoid excessive eating of food or drinks
4. Avoid indescriminate outings or occassions
5. Don't let the celebration period be your own vulneble time to get attacked.

503  Economy / Gambling / Re: What do you want to see in casino reviews? on: December 23, 2023, 06:30:44 PM
If you're using bitcointalk to conduct a casino gambling review, you're going to get more of honest reviews because of the members that are making reviews are doing that base on their live experience with using the casino after which they have careful observed all the necessary things required to be noted for adjustment, the other important aspect of these reviews on bitcointalk is that they are also having their announcement thread available where you could make discussion about their platform and engage with their representative there.
504  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcointalk vs. YouTube from an educational viewpoint on: December 23, 2023, 05:06:34 PM
For Bitcoin, YouTube and Bitcointalk offer a lot of content but what do we need to consider when it comes about evaluating Bitcointalk and YouTube from an educational viewpoint?

You cannot compare YouTube to bitcoin, the purpose of the creation of each platform is what should be considered first before we can know what to say about each of them, they are both serving their purpose, bitcoin was created by its developer Satoshi for bitcoin discussions with other people from all over the world, youth is just for posting visual contents on various things to enlight, inform and educate others, so I will rather say that bitcointalk is educative on its own aspect and same as YouTube.
505  Other / Meta / Re: Signature Campaigns in the Service Board on: December 23, 2023, 04:01:45 PM
Now to my question: Fees have been going wild lately and I've already seen some campaigns switch to payments over other networks while still remaining in the Bitcoin Service board (and advertising paying in BTC). Am I to assume this is alright? I've been paying roughly $200/week per campaign in fees for the last few weeks and would much rather pay less as long as nothing would change as to where I can post campaigns and contests.

As the rules says, service board is meant for campaigns thst are paying in bitcoin and no other currency aside this, but what am not aware of is the reason why some of these campaigns make payments yet remain on service board without moving their thread to altcoins section, maybe it's because of the temporary payment in other coins in other for them to meet up for the weekly budget for their work before the whole thing come to normal and they returned back to their usual bitcoin payment, but in such cases like this, i will advise for bi weekly or monthly payment if the participants could agree.
506  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: cNGN, a consortium-backed stable coin on: December 23, 2023, 01:34:34 PM
Unlike eNaira, not created by the CBN. The principal collaborators are Access Bank, Sterling Bank, Providus, Korapay, First Bank, Interstellar, Interswitch, Budpay, and Convexity, presenting a noteworthy alliance within the Nigerian financial industry.

It would be a token on blockchains like Bantu, Polygon, Ethereum, BNB Smart Chain, and Tron. Facilitating effortless global transfers and broadening its use internationally.

Pegged with naira.

https://cointelegraph.com/news/nigerias-top-banks-collaborate-on-new-cngn-stablecoin

I think this is better. But definitely  it can be frozen like USDT, USDC and others.

I will say that Nigeria is going on an impressive way these days starting from the partial ban lift of the use of bitcoin and more other latest developments coming to mark technology advancement and innovation in the country, the only thing i see as a shortcoming over this cNGN stablecoin is the fact that it was pegged with Naira, we know how recently naira has not been performing well in the economy parallel market with it's exchange rate to USD, maybe if they had made it pegged to USD it could have draw more attention and much difference from enaira, but this is a crypto now and not fiat like enaira.
507  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: CBN lifts ban on cryptocurrency transactions on: December 23, 2023, 01:02:08 PM
You can send the merits to https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5478992.msg63371202#msg63371202

https://punchng.com/breaking-cbn-lifts-ban-on-cryptocurrency/

The ban has been lifted. But banks and other financial institutions in Nigeria are not allowed to hold, trade and/or transact in bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.

In the 2023 Financial Act that 10% capital gain tax on virtual assets was included, we know this is coming. Although, we enjoy the CBN ban. Probably regulations and taxation are coming.

This is not a goodnews yet to me since the banks were not allowed to engage in anything you that has to do with cryptocurrency, but we can day that the ban lift is just a partial one that only permit the people which are the interested citizens to freely engage in the use of bitcoin before they can know their own stand and wether to allow the banks or not, so i will adopt this as a way of warming us up for the future expectations, sometimes decision are not made at once, it's follows a gradual process before the full implementation comed in place.
508  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do casino owners benefit from creating multiple casinos? on: December 22, 2023, 06:00:43 PM
I have noticed that there are multiple casinos in the crypto space owned by the same person or company. I am curious about the reasons behind creating additional casinos when there is already a running and profitable one.

Have you ever tried to reason if you own a business that is flourishing and decided on opening another branch of the same business for  expansion, you are doing this because you think you're good in what you do and have gathered enough experience in it as well, it's also another thing we can decided to increase our business for more profits realization since we have the best of the knowledge on how to handle and manage them altogether.

How does this practice contribute to their business? It seems illogical as it might increase operating expenses without an obvious benefit.

No, you're wrong, the idea is to maximize profit in business and introduce new additional offers to come along with the new establishment and it's part of business strategies.

509  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you still appreciates the price of Bitcoin if it hasn't be your history price on: December 22, 2023, 04:50:59 PM
If i truly believe in bitcoin and have the understanding that it's a reliable digital cryptocurrency that deserves my trust and investment, then i shouldn't make an expression of FOMO anytime I see there's a change that could spike out fear in what we have ad bitcoin market price, we've seen the worst dip and yet bitcoin rises and moves back it way upwards to where it's coming from, same also happened when the market rises and reached a new all time high, we still have the more confidence in it to remain that same valuable digital currency, when something is volatile, then we should expect more about this.
510  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Quickest way to earn merit? on: December 22, 2023, 04:08:19 PM
Re: Quickest way to earn merit?
I thought that this is a guide on how to earn merits. I was just eager to read and extend my merits could, it seems that I am stocked here for some times. But unfortunately for me, it's someone wanting to know how to jump from newbie to legendary.

What you write, how you write which includes the tone, quality grammar correctness, tenses, facts, generally the make up of your  comments and whether reader agrees  or not determines if you get merits.

So do your research well. Write about what you think within the purview of Bitcoin , and cryptocurrency. Write concisely, accurately, sensibly.
All the above listed are correct and needed to earn merits. But then, if you implement all and there's no merit source looking your way, I'm sorry you are stocked.

Everyone has suggested well already, but talking about being a newbie, it's not an ideal way to start with first, a newbie does not need to start running after merits, they should be interested in knowing about how they can make a meaningful contributions to the forum and have the best understanding of how the forum operates, why should a newbie needed to have merits for a start if not that there's more hidden under his intentions for that.
511  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New crypto stealer: Rhadamanthys Stealer malware on: December 22, 2023, 02:01:54 PM
So as much as possible stay away from those sites, do not download any fake softwares. Everyone should be very careful more than ever as criminals are very much into our space right now and we don't want to be the next victim here.

This is as important as nit reading alone the thread but acting as according to how it has been advised to do, I don't know why some like to make downloads like something else, doing that indescriminately will be a cheaper way of getting involved into this kind of attack because the attackers already knows that people like downloading and are not being careful of which site they are making such from, the funny aspect is that we may not have to know the intention of any website that they are trying to tricks us by introducing malwares until we already becomes their prey.
512  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: What opportunities do you see around you? on: December 22, 2023, 01:42:56 PM
It is actually funny that the food production of Nigeria is not enough to feed the citizens.  Why then are people not going into farming? Why do we cry about unemployment when many people have lands they can cultivate in the villages yet lying fallow. I truly see a very big opportunity in farming.

Let's start with the government themselves, they are not giving agriculture a serious consideration to encourage the people key into farming practices, i remember after the oil boom, many have left the agricultural zone to the oil sector and those that begin with this are the government, except if you want to stay on your own and make the change you want right from then confort of where you're by farming without having to depend on government or their modern facilities before achieving your own freedom for life.
513  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Gambling affect your relationship? on: December 21, 2023, 09:00:40 PM
We should not allow gambling to affect anything we are into, this is not about relationships alone but the work we do and other aspects of life we are into, we must learn to be able to make balance of not making things got affected by one for the other, so many gamblers already have made alot of mistakes that have cost them the sacrifice of the prestigious relationship all because they couldn't manage things up as they should with gambling.
514  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to get 1 eth or 1 btc on: December 21, 2023, 07:31:08 PM
If you don't have anything to exchange for them as annasset then try to earn them, build yourself with quality skills  that are needed in the crypto space and get employed, when yiu receive your pay, then you save up by holding, over time you could imagine what you would have turned to be, we are also in the festive season, don't try to get any of your target coins free because you may end up being scammed by those that may offer you free.
515  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Quickest way to earn merit? on: December 21, 2023, 06:43:51 PM
Can you imagine if for example satoshi coming here with a newbie account and people attack him for being a merit/account farmer? Or talk nonsense about him?

The reality is that even if Satoshi is coming back as a newbie, he would never have made a post in such regard that will warrant anyone to talk to him that way or manners, the way some people post is just all about the reflection of how their real personality is in real life.

Most of people here are some teenagers with no life experience, so they say stupid things, but the reality here is the following :
Sucking up for gang members and campaign managers will earn you thousands of merits, that's it, that's the easiest and quickest way. 😂

Welcome, I apologize on behalf of everyone who'd disrespected you. 🤝

This forum is not a cult and you can't say that ganging up is what will give you upper priority to make merit, just show yourself approved and knowledgeable and see If you wouldn't end up being merited often by those who appreciates your quality posts.
516  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: Glo and it's network wahala on: December 21, 2023, 05:52:04 PM
If you won't mind having more than two networks for your own safety and for the kind of the nature of how you place demands onnthe network efficiency with things you do online, am not making this suggestion for you to have multiple lines in other to use them for illicit activities, this is just only intended on you to have an itchfree connectivity each time you're online or having network challenge with any of the providers you're using, so i will also adopt the same suggestions given by Charles-Tim.
517  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Altcointalk forum go be our second online home? on: December 21, 2023, 05:28:09 PM
In all sincerity, I been just they very discouraged since all this banning of mixers start because the development affect me Wella and now na Christmas period wey person suppose go home tell people say BTC they pay, btt forum dey pay, consistent effort dey pay.
I don try port my account sha, but watin dey burst my head now be say person go need to dey update that Altcoin talk side and this Bitcoin talk forum too. E never too clear how person suppose take manage both, but with new challenges comes new responsibilities and new focus and determination.

Maybe we should always remind ourselves of this that nothing is permanent in life, you can check out back in some ago, we have some set of campaign managers and now today, we have almost different set of people, who knows maybe the following could be something else different from what we expect, ban on mixers from bitcointalk should also be considered as another means of maintaining it's reputation and trust, this is not a home that accommodate any kind of shade for doing attrocities, am not saying mixers are, but what will people say about them here on bitcointalk, we may be the next target on attack if we continue to allow them, my opinion anyways.

519  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Reckless gambling starts after a win round. on: December 20, 2023, 06:39:32 PM
I feel curious about being addicted to gambling, then people who play more and more actively even though they keep losing, I was once caught in a circle like this, spending half my savings just to recover my losses, but it was stopped after I realized, currently I only play 1% of my total income and I enjoy it whether I lose or win

Reckless gambling should not comes in immediately we realized a win from the bet we made, if not it will sound on us as if we don't know what we are doing, we have to be a responsible gaamblers wether we are winning or loosing, the conditions attached shouldn't determined wether we are going to be addicted or gamble wreckless or not, we need to make our own personal efforts to give our gambling the self discipline it requires.
520  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which type of gambling have more gambling addicts ? on: December 20, 2023, 06:00:00 PM
I can't say specifically on the kind of gambling sports or games that has more addicts, people are the ones thst got addicted to gambling on different kinds of games or sports, addiction is not embedded in any of them but people make the decision of getting addicted from how the have mutual feelings on gambling and how they were being able to conduct themselves into living a disciplined lifestyle while gambling.
