For long-term investment i would choose invest with gold because surely gold prices will go up over the time.

This reminds me of what people used to say about Real Estate before 08...
Economics rule #1: NOTHING will surely go up.

Its impossible to break a 128bit or 256bit cryptography. There is no so powerfull computer to do it. But its very possible a secret cooperation between police and a company.

With a 4 or 5 digit key?! Are you serious?!
You can't directly decrypt it, but it takes 10 seconds to get the key.
All it takes is to get the raw data and brutte force it at another computer (one without the 10 fail routine).
503  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Apple or the FBI… whose side are you on in the iPhone privacy battle? on: March 30, 2016, 01:38:40 PM
I would go with Apple's decision. Its about users privacy !
Its decision is right in not disclosing and cracking its own smartphone.

In proper crypto there's no "want to". If you send me something PGP encrypted without the key I "can't" decrypt it, regardless if I want or not.
This is the whole point.

Apple doesn't sell security, sells obscurity. But their customers are usually too dumb to notice!
"It erases on 10 attempts"... how lame is that?! Erases if the memory is being read by the device, if you remove it to read elsewhere you've endless attempts on it.

Link for what? You don't know what was the Marshall plan?
So that was it, caused some development, when went low borrow from the markets and keep borrowing, always in deficit...

Socialism is the way -> to bankruptcy...

Socialism is the way -> to equality and development of the society

Where and when did that development happened?!  Roll Eyes

Don't know, maybe between WWII and late 80's the only times where socialism was used in France, also the only time where the Gini index was better every year...

Until the Marshall's money ran out. That how and when it appears to work: while you're expending someone else's money.

Capitalism is the way -> To inequality, destruction of social progress and control of the society by the 0.01%

Yada, yada, the 1%... comparing property and assets with wages... how easy to foul are you?!
Appeal to greed is an ancient technique for ruin, and this 1% bullshit is no more than that. They're trying to convince you that the fortune of Bill Gates, Zuckemberg and so on are pocket change...

SJW are those folks who made their "victims" and "criminals" on their own mind and work like senseless zombies. Taking someone as a good or bad fellow based on their own assumptions.

Same here.  Grin

Liberals are right-wing, left-wing are Socialists.

GOLD:

+ Widely known
+ Holds value for longer - low volatility

- Hard to carry - low mobility
- Hard to store

BITCOIN:

+ High mobility
+ Easy to store, despite you'll need to study a bit about encryption, passwords and so on
+ Ability to exists in no physical or software existence at user side (brain wallets) - I know for many this may sound as a disadvantage and start calling bitcoin "vapor" or similar claims, yet you probably have some bank note at your wallet and be unaware that that currency has no real existence whatsoever, a 10 dollar bill doesn't worth 10 dollars, it represents 10 units of an abstract currency we call USD.

- Less known
- High volatility - means value can take hard swings either way.

It turns somewhat funny to see someone who still lives under the mother skirt way past 40 y.o. calling the others "privileged".
Yes, no doubt those good for nothing are privileged, but they aren't privileged for being white or straight or whatever non-sense reason they came up with; they're privileged for having parents that don't stand up and allow the brat to leech them and grow in to a little dictator.
512  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Islam vs. the Arab race on: February 02, 2016, 12:14:57 PM
The non-sense continues!

Is Boko Haram Arab? Are Pakistani Arabs? Or Bangladeshi? Or Indonesians?

Cut the crap with this racist non-sense! Not all Arabs are Muslims, not all Muslims are Arabs. Arab is a human race, Islam is just a dark aged religion coming out of a psychopath's mind.
513  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is unsustainable, according to Vice on: January 29, 2016, 03:03:40 AM
I think they're missing the spot: we are still at the mining era.
This era will last until the 21 million bitcoins come to exist, onwards the tx fees will dictate the market and the hashing power will most likely be way lower.
Blocksize, compression, light chains, whatever scalability solution will come, will handle the tx rate issues.

No problem, they can cut up to 90% now, their members have no way to run to, so they won't leave because they can't. They're wanted criminals everywhere.
516  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC price increase estimate for the day/week stock market crash occurs on: January 21, 2016, 01:59:16 AM
Gold, eh?
But what kind of gold? A paper saying that you have gold? Or the metal itself? The first one is way too risky, if the fund host is a con man may sell the same gold over and over, the second one, if you need to go abroad, good luck on bring that with you...  Roll Eyes

Bitcoin has properties no other investment have.

Except it is vapour, that a government such as China (or the US, but the US won't cos Bitcoin isn't a threat to them), could destroy on a whim.

Except that you clearly don't know what Bitcoin is or how it works, and no, no government can destroy it, it would be like destroying bittorrent... I wonder what are those 600 posts of yours!

You REALLY have no clue on how Bitcoin works... if the Chinese switch their mining rigs off, all it happens is a little delay on transactions until the system readjusts its difficulty.
In the rate, goes down... goes up... goes down... goes up again... it's the cycle of life.

Ultimately a solar powered raspberry in the middle of the desert with satellite internet is all it takes for bitcoin to carry on...

519  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC price increase estimate for the day/week stock market crash occurs on: January 20, 2016, 12:04:36 PM
So... what do you think that can happen to Bitcoin?!
We will no longer be able to generate energy, return to dark ages, and therefore can't use computers? Because that's the only way for it to disappear.

Maybe you need to learn what Bitcoin is, before you make assumptions!
520  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC price increase estimate for the day/week stock market crash occurs on: January 20, 2016, 11:30:08 AM
Bitcoin isn't gold, it's better. Bitcoin is gold with mobility.
During crisis the governments' behavior tends to protectionism, Bitcoin can become the trend for international business.
The Chinese are a false question, Bitcoin is now far from being a pump and dump scheme and nobody controls it. It's the first world wide without "central authorities" currency. Its mobility and the Chinese regime makes it particularly tasty for them, but they will not be alone on this race in the event of a depression (and stocks today looks like a bloodbath, all red).
