501  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What are your expectations for ICOs in 2019? on: December 05, 2018, 05:55:25 PM
ICO will be dead in 2019, reason been that SEC said most of these utility tokens are Security, for me if the STO platform do get themselves inorder we should expect the rise of STO tokens, not the ones offered by Polymath but expect those underground projects to still the show and expect some of these existing ICOs to start converting their tokens to STO tokens

I do not think ICO will be dead next  year, if that so then crowdfunding had been dead by now.  ICO is another kind of crowdfunding, it is a good thing that SEC butt in to regulate stuff, once this field is cleared of half-baked and scams, i believe ICO will be lively again.

Though STO sounds promising there is somehow downside on this according to this article
502  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: established coins that have dropped or low cap coins on: December 05, 2018, 05:10:13 PM
Top 10’s are good potential investments in short term also some low capped coins must watch too, since some of them show good performance even in the longest bearish months. Its really hard to choose a good coin during this season since everything is in correction process, always trade and invest with caution.

Not only top 10, there are  many token that is promising outside of it.  With active development and partnership, it is good to long these kind of token since we all know once the platform and roadmap is delivered, those who long for these token  will greatly benefit.
503  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO Investments Why Risky? on: December 05, 2018, 04:52:44 PM
ICO is very risky because they are not licensed by the governement, most of the Idea are too good to be true or too ambitious.  Aside from that in cryptocurrency space, most ICO developers are just present in the picture, there is no actual personal interaction between the investors and the project developer.  Sources like ICO ratings site are just some pay to publish sites in order for the project to be advertised.  In short, we are investing blindly in most ICO.
504  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should ICOs be regulated on: December 05, 2018, 04:37:01 PM
Last year I thought that decentralized market should be without any regulations, now I have changed my mind.
ICOs and impatient investors totally destroyed this market. We need regulations to protect investors because in world of anonymity it is so easy to create a scam project.

Funny how decentralization sounds great but behind that, due to unregulated things, most scam and fraud flock in that territory.  Since they exploit the idea of decentralization, they think they can get away with their illegal activities/  With lots of scams in unregulated ICO, I believe SEC should step in and regulate ICO for the investors sake.
505  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do start to trade on: December 03, 2018, 11:36:03 AM
Most of the advice I see when someone asks if they should HODL or trade is that to HODL.
If we only HODL and not trade, how will we ever make profit.
If we do HODL, how long do we have to just hold. The only  thing happens is the price keep going down.

I believe instead of just keep holding, we should at least start trading. For beginners they can also learn how to trade.
I've started to trade 3 months ago and I've been earning profit since.

This is just my opinion and I would encourage others to do so as well.
Cheers (:

The problem with trading is that there is more risk than hodl'ing.  For a beginner, holding is a better choice but of course if you see profit you can either sell half of your holding or exit at all.  But in time of depression where prices are going down, you can trade by shorting and buy back when it goes down more but that will be more risky.
506  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Reasons why regular people are afraid to invest in Crypto on: December 03, 2018, 11:29:15 AM
If no one provides the correct knowledge of cryptocurrency, ordinary people cannot understand the cryptocurrency. If the cryptocurrency continues to rise, they will join the cryptocurrency investment. Otherwise they will not invest easily because they are poor.

True,  the problem with country that allow cryptocurrency, they lack the initiative to spread right knowledge about cryptocurrency.  Sad part is, fraud and scammers take the opportunity to exploit unsuspecting investors.   That is the reason why there are lots of scams in "cryptosphere".  This stuff gives negative impact to cryptocurrency and bad or negative news spread faster than the good one.  So people who heard about these news thinks that cryptocurrency is a scam so they avoid it.
507  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What if all the governments accept crypto? on: December 03, 2018, 11:20:47 AM
If the government accepts cryptocurrency, then they have found a way to keep everyone under the hood. The government will never accept a cryptocurrency until it learns to control the market.

Hmm accepting cryptocurrency does not mean controlling them.  Unless government create their own centralized cryptocurrency, they will having a hard time monitoring and controlling cryptocurrency transaction.

The positive effect will be  great if government accept cryptocurrency.  For sure adoption will be massive and honest merchant won't hesitate to participate thus, a boom for cryptocurrency market.
508  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should ICOs be regulated on: December 03, 2018, 11:12:21 AM
Considering the high level of scam associated with ICOs presently, many investors are at risk of loosing their investments. Bounty hunters like us are not spared as we may be rendering free services to some scammers and also risking our personal data.

I suppose a regulatory body be set up to audit the ICO process and the  founders, and if anything goes wrong or should the project fail, they will be liable. This will reduce drastically investors risk and also keep scammers away. What do you think?

I fully agree, ICO must be regulated.  This is to protect investors from scammers.  This project is collecting money to fund their idea, so it should follow government rules regarding fund collection.  They must be registered and acknowledge by the government.   Meaning they need to have license or patent to their idea if needed.
509  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Future looks bright on: November 29, 2018, 04:43:09 PM
The current situation may not look so good but this is the indication that the future will be bright.  Everything that goes down will eventually goes up since there is nothing to go except to go up.  Though Bitcoin may have not seen its lowest but for the potential altcoin projects there is a possibility that it will break away if Bitcoin continues to dip.

510  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum is Going to $50 based on what I Observed! on: November 29, 2018, 02:48:55 PM
based on what I observe, Etherher will actually rise again to $ 500, and will be $ 1000 in the next year.
I like observations that are telling some encouragement and now, I can breathe lightly because we're going away from $100. And I'm also prepared if the price will start to get near to $50. I'm getting ready some of my life savings so I can get more ETH by that time. $100 - $120 is now the base price and I hope that it will move higher by that expectation of yours.
I think the current ETH price is right if we start buying it because in my opinion this is already the lowest price and I also believe that in the next few months ETH prices will rise again at its peak.

I still think it is overpriced.  A technology/code that have lots of bug.  I do not hate ETH but I do not think it is right to buy ETH at this high.  Many users have lost money here especially on their bug during transaction. If you send too fast your transaction wont get through and you wasted the gas used even though the gas is sufficient for the transaction.
511  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What if the ICO projects pay the bounty hunters in bitcoin only? on: November 29, 2018, 01:12:29 PM
Do you think paying bounty hunters in bitcoin or ethereum a good idea so that there is uniform payment among the participants? What is your thought about this? Maybe this is the first step to turn back the trust they lost because of mostly valueless coins they offered. What is your thought here guys?

This would be great, if a project are able the bounty hunter with Bitcoin or Eth, this only means that the project have a start up fund.  This somehow differentiate them with other ICO that are made with zero fund in hand.  Aside from that it has been shown that ICO that offers Bitcoin or ETH as payment have more chance of success since they have the fund to pay for their marketing and advertisement.
512  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Your thoughts on blockchain being taught in school on: November 29, 2018, 01:04:21 PM
What your opinon on blockchain being taught in school as Bahrain Finance Training Institute Launches ‘Blockchain Academy’

It is cool, with this students will be aware of the blockchain technology.  Aside from that, with the new people getting knowledge about blockchain and understanding it, there will be a lot more innovation about blockchain in the future.  This is one step forward towards  the use of blockchain in the economy.
513  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do you always invest in top ranked coins? on: November 28, 2018, 01:16:43 PM
I do not always invest on top ranked coins, I always look for a coins that is starting yet promising since there is where the potential of maximized profit.   Most of the top ranked coins had undergone pump and dump and mostly at its established value so profit from that is not that great though risk is a bit lower than the one that is just starting out.
514  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This is Why you Should Worry! on: November 28, 2018, 12:45:39 PM
I guess everyone here knows that there is no guarantee in investing in Bitcoin.  Past history are just reference, but there is proven fact that there is a chance that history repeat itself.  So people tends to believe in this thus they are very positive about the possible rebound of Bitcoin.
515  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ONLY A FEW PEOPLE WITH THE MOST BITCOIN CONTROL THE MARKET on: November 28, 2018, 11:51:16 AM
I'm not sure if whales really do manipulate Bitcoin but I can say that there's a group that does play a huge role in price and those are miners. Miners probably have the most Bitcoin when combined and when they are influenced by something, then a price movement would sure to happen.

Well I guess miners have different action regarding their mined Bitcoin, and of course Miners have the most since they are the first hand owner of Bitcoin that had been circulating in the market.  Though I believe, there are groups of individual that is knowledgeable on playing the market.  They have the capability to spread news whether it is for hyping or FUD'ing, they also have funds for fake market volume. though I guess Bitcoin is greatly distributed now than before, and besides, manipulation of market had been there ever since so there is nothing new about it.  The thing here is how can we (small timer) ride with the whales.
516  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What comes after Bitcoin? on: November 28, 2018, 11:31:06 AM
I don't believe that the world will become so "digitized" as you describe it.What about the poor countries in the third world?Do you think they will become "digitized"?However,to answer your question about what comes after bitcoin. My answer is...nothing. Grin
The blockchain technology might be adopted in various industries, but all cryptocurrencies will become obsolete.

I believe that the world will be digitized.  But it will not happen overnight.  Remember development?  Though each country have their own pace on how fast or slow they will develop.  Third countries, or worst than third countries will cope up.  Communication is fast so knowledge distribution will also be fast.  And once cryptocurrencies become obsolete, that means the world is already in a far more advanced digital era.
517  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Prices are Being Manipulated... on: November 27, 2018, 10:37:51 AM
Just what I am thinking about. I believe that bitcoin  prices are being manipulated but I don't know how can they manipulate the market, that must be the person has so much power in crypto world.

It is simple they orchestrated news, some huge sell within themselves.  They often time it when there is some crisis or conflict within cryptocurrency that they think may affect bitcoin price.  This manipulators have huge stash of Bitcoin and/or huge fund to play the market.  It is not a single person I believe but rather groups of person that wanted to take advantage of high volatility of Bitcoin and the weak hands that bought Bitcoin during the hype.
518  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If an ICO team is anonymous, is it a scam? on: November 27, 2018, 09:45:45 AM
..snipped

Satoshi remains anonymous..

Thoughts?

I also agree with this statement - if the team of a specific project is anonymous, then the probability of fraud is too high. Personally, I am fully confident that we should abandon investment in such projects. After all, no one will hide team members, if the project is of real benefit to society and plans to achieve success.

I agree, in order for us to at least lessen the chance of being scammed we should avoid the project that have anon dev.  I am not saying all but most of the scammer exploit the idea of decentralization and anonymous.  As for example a company that created a token or coins for a networking scheme and when asked if they have license to operate, they just reason out about being decentralized thus no need for license which is against the law.  Same goes with anon dev, they say Satoshi is anonymous but the question is, did satoshi asked for an ICO for Bitcoin? Of course no.
519  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will the current market situation turn better? on: November 27, 2018, 08:43:10 AM
Will the current market situation turn better?

Now that I hold some digital tokens, can anyone tell me to continue holding them or sell them directly?
It is impossible for us to see that the cryptocurrency market will easily become better. It depends on the profitability of your coins for you to find out if you will now sell your coins or you will continue to hold.

The cryptocurrency market may have a hard time today but I believe, as time pass by it will become better.  The market is developing and adoption is being practiced everywhere so demands and audience is increasing.  We just need to wait for sometime since the phase change in market never happened overnight.
520  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The future of airdrops in the crypto space. on: November 27, 2018, 08:29:42 AM
Airdrops can be a hit-or-miss opportunity. Some projects have leveraged them effectively to distribute tokens to a broad user base, but they can often end up filling communities with low-level airdrop hunters.

How do you feel about airdrops? Are they worthwhile for the communities and for the projects? Have you ever participated in airdrops, and would you again?

I believe in a developers point of view, airdrop is just a waste of time it seldom meet the set audience target because of the multiple accounts.  In short it is being exploited by the participants.  But in a participants review I guess it is worth to join since you can just fill up a form and do some one time task and get some token.   And yes, I participated in an airdrop sometimes.
