521  Economy / Economics / Re: Isn't it all about money? on: February 21, 2024, 12:41:59 PM
What's the essence of all the hustle and bustle and learning and reading and keeping all the sleepless night? Isn't it all about money?

What if I don't want to go through all these process, don't care if I'm a graduate or not or if I'm good at speaking good English or not buth I'm just focused on how to make the money and end up making the money, won't the end justify the means?

I sometimes feel that some of these ideal process that has been accepted by the majority of the people in the society as a part to be taken to greatness is too complex. I mean, we can just learn how to read and write and focus on how to make money. Those who want to become engineers can choose to do so but those that don't want to pass through those route shouldn't be seen as less of a person because at the end of the day, it's mostly all about money.

Maybe your worldview emphasizes material values rather than existing things that you haven't realized yet. A small mention to Op, have you ever lived in harmony with nature (literally), a self-sufficient life is not easily tied to money. I know many situations where people are stuck materially, they lack satisfaction (enoughness) with life, like I work for money, then money helps me have food, beautiful jewelry, etc. All nuances in life can be misconstrued just because of society's perspective.

I myself had a time when I spent a lot of time making money, but then I realized I was more like a machine than a person with emotions and thoughts, or love,... there are many more different values in life and just like how you understand all means and even money is just a means to help everyone's life end the way they choose. Without imposing too much prejudice on someone, they can worship money, or simply be satisfied and grateful with everything in life.
522  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cardano vs Ethereum on: February 21, 2024, 12:29:26 PM
Do you think Cardano will replace Ethereum?

(...)

My portfolio is both ETH and ADA, I don't like competing between them because really the information anyone attaches is meaningless. Even before ADA launched, I really had high hopes for the potential it could create, but over time I realized the ETH position more and more. Anyway, let's not judge which is better, as both are good cryptocurrencies and can offer profit opportunities. Although we know that there will still be problems on each chain, this is crypto, everything is still too new and needs more time to develop further.
523  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum gas fee on: February 21, 2024, 08:42:07 AM
Why is it when making some transactions on Eth network the gas fee is always higher than other network?

I'm not sure it's complete, but here's what I feel from ETH, reasons why gas fees on Ethereum network are higher than other networks:
 - High demand
 - Limited scalability
 - Fee structure
 - ETH value

I find this problem to be actually quite normal as it continues to put a strain on many ETH, high gas fees are a problem for the Ethereum network, and there are also many solutions being developed to solve this problem. Users have the option to use other networks or Layer 2 solutions to reduce transaction costs, as well as the transition to Ethereum 2.0 with its PoS mechanism which is expected to reduce gas fees significantly.

Even so, it is still inevitable that the increase in war activity created by the network does not solve the problems, but it remains a question of whether users accept it, because the service does not serve any individual.
524  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Couple won the jackpot but split soon after! on: February 21, 2024, 08:29:57 AM
Funny enough where they together because they dont have money. Now they have won a jackpot they now see each other flaws and tend to go find a better partner for themselves. IMO, they are meant for each other they should just see it that way, that if they are together they will win more jackpot with their luck.

Also when splitting the money i support you that it should be done equally. There shouldn't be no hierarchy there. So that peace will remain and everyone  will leave happily. I believe it is a very big sum of money that would be enough for them

Yep, it's somewhat humorous that they came together when they had no money, and now that they are rich, they begin to see each other's shortcomings and want to find a better partner.

I agree that it should be divided equally between both of them. An equal division will help maintain peace and ensure that both have the opportunity to enjoy their new lives to the fullest. With such a large amount of money, they can comfortably carry out their plans and enjoy a prosperous life. Indeed, this is one of the situations that I have not been exposed too much but can understand conflicts in romantic relationships (there are too many complications inside) and even if it is not related to money, but still affter all, these are different shades of life and perhaps they also have a peaceful resolution.
525  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: STRK(Starknet) Token Speculation on: February 21, 2024, 08:22:54 AM
Anyway, this is a leading L2 project, and they did not disappoint the community too much at the time of STRK launch, the selling pressure from the community is still going on and we can fully expect it lower price as OP suggested.

Among L2, this is not a project that I prioritize, I like OP more Smiley maybe for some reasons as well as the way they have been operating in the past, making trust better. But there is no denying that Starknet is also a leading L2, its ecosystem over time I believe will attract more developers to come and similar to some previously active L2 the hype will continue. Looking around, speculating at the present time or waiting for the price to decrease also has logic and if you expect further into the future, it wouldn't be too surprising to see STRK > $10.
526  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are your stance on SUI on: February 21, 2024, 08:15:42 AM
I have not yet made any move on the coin yet and it's already at 1.4, I just want to know what the community this about it? Are there any red flags? Is it really the next Solana?

It's legal and can be completely trusted, to me the project has a smart approach as they have launched and are close to the bullish phase of the market. And now, looking at the ecosystem is getting more attention to developing products, but to be fair, new things still have many shortcomings and need a process to overcome.

But maybe it's not too surprising if SUI can reach the top 10 in the future. I see the potential of the project, but in terms of investment, we need to research more carefully, and we all understand that no one invests the same in both, about balancing risks/opportunities to redefine strategy.
527  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it good or bad idea saving every penny on crypto stable coins on: February 20, 2024, 04:42:51 PM
Sometimes I begin to imagine instead of transferring my money into the bank to keep for a number of days or months before usage in form of savings that nothing will add up instead it remains stagnant or the bank charges me even more. Is it not better I save them on a stable coin such as the USDT?

I find that keeping money in the bank and converting to USDT both have their own pros and cons. Choosing which option is better depends on your financial goals, risk tolerance, and investment time horizon. I think that if you have a plan for your financial goals, risk tolerance level and investment time, then be really serious and, most importantly always stay responsible for your actions. Because I am active member in the crypto field, I really encourage everyone to do their own research so they can diversify their choices, don't be too fixed and distinguish what is the best choice, if they are right can help you complete it.
528  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A famous influencer lost more than $4000 in just 2 minutes. (2) on: February 20, 2024, 04:35:40 PM
(...)Even with a rich guy gambling, still has this regret he just made, so how much more for an average guy to take the risk of spending his hard earned money just to gamble?

Have you experienced this kind of situation wherein you spend huge amount of money and then regret after the loss? Is your reaction the same with that guy on the video?
We all understand that gambling is a highrisk activity, and the possibility of losing is always higher than the possibility of winning.

It's the same old story about how gambling can be an enjoyable recreational activity, but it's important to play responsibly. It's also really ironic that these things still exist and people are still being reminded of their mistakes while gambling. Actually, I don't lose emotions and money through gambling, but I can understand the influence of gambling on players, the loss of control making wrong decisions and being forced to suffer the consequences of it.
529  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Price of Bitcoin and Ethereum on: February 20, 2024, 04:28:27 PM
- Yes and No

Yep, I can see that everything that's been happening lately is heavily influenced by bitcoin, which is why bitcoin's position is number 1. Since the approval of the spot bitcoin ETF, new doors are opening to accept more altcoins. I think it's just a matter of time for everything to be approved, and during that process developments will be unpredictable and prices will fluctuate. ETH always receives great attention, perhaps only after bitcoin, so any impact from bitcoin can affect the price of ETH. At this stage, perhaps the attention to ETH is getting bigger as everyone is expecting big events, and we are especially getting closer to a common event for the whole market about BTC halving.
530  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Quick profit is the only reason why we invest in Altcoins on: February 20, 2024, 05:50:39 AM
Focusing on opportunities without accepting reality with risks is what will lead to mistakes in investing. With altcoins, they are also simulating and explaining features and applying them to life more, so price increases will also accompany the market development process.

In the past, I also prioritized altcoins, but when I realized that money was being diverted from people's pockets, choosing altcoins only accounted for a small part of the investment in crypto, perhaps the fast standard of some people. They are measuring on a limited scale and calculating profits on that range, but a little wider, it must be admitted that bitcoin also brings fast and safe profits. So if you look at it from a general perspective, each individual will have their own choice. As long as they are ready to accept everything, investing can be kept simple and comfortable.
531  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: XRP - Do I need to diversify? on: February 20, 2024, 05:40:52 AM
Hi all,

I have XRP in my bag, ADA is my biggest then XRP, Algo, HBAR, along with a bit of VET, QNT and Link. My question is being XRP my second largest holding and having not moved much do I take this out and pop it into my other coins I have?

Maybe keep $1000 in XRP.

Where does everyone think XRP will end up this bullrun?

Feeling that you have not had a specific plan with your own investment, what was your plan before buying? Or is it simply a matter of buying nonselectively?

I see XRP has momentum to increase in price but I'm not sure our targets will be the same, because the balance between risk and opportunity in investment is always a factor important. There is no advice that you should buy one thing or another, but make your own assumptions about all desired and unsatisfactory situations to be able to evaluate investment behavior. Anyway, I hope you achieve your goals in your crypto investment journey.
532  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Seeking Advice ‼️ on: February 19, 2024, 08:16:53 AM
Hey everyone! I've got $1000 to invest before the next bull market kicks in. Should I spread it across five different coins or go all in on just one? What are your top picks for either strategy?

I'm not sure a new member can absorb the views because every aspect has its own opportunities/risks.

- If you dedicate all your capital to a certain cryptocurrency, you must research to make sure that the price appreciation rate will be really high to help you be satisfied with the profits. I have some suggestions for you to research further on your own such as BTC, ETH, BNB, DOT, LINK,.... they are all top projects, although buying one of them, the opportunity to make a profit is always very high feasibility.

- Regarding diversification, it should also be considered carefully, the suggestion is
  • BTC 40%
  • Altcoin top (<10) 30%
  • Altcoin  (<100) 20%
  • altcoin trending ( gamefi, social, NFT, AI, Depin, meme,...) 10%

Obviously investing always comes with risks, to keep your mind more comfortable, make sure you are willing to lose that $1000.
533  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What do you think are the best crypto to invest in today before the halving? on: February 19, 2024, 08:08:27 AM
Hello guys, I'm new in the world of cryptocoins, I have the theory, but I lack the practice, I've been analyzing some cryptos, many of which I've read here on the forum. Which do you think are the best before the halving? Im a little lost with all coins there are....Thanks

First throw the best/worst terminology out of the argument you're making, because each person's investment really won't be the same. What needs to be done is to balance the amount of money you participate in and the goal you are aiming for. I realize that there are many opportunities in the market that can completely achieve x10 in the future, so there will be many different options. .

And with my portfolio of choice in terms of capital allocation to bitcoin and altcoins and a stablecoin amount, the majority will be bitcoin as I gradually move towards safer things and not ready with good returns. But I'm also very open about a new project that I've also had time to research about, Zetachain. Although it's quite new and the ecosystem is still quite sketchy, I believe it's going according to plan and completely could bring big profits in the future, a bit of speculation without any basis on it I think it will surpass $10 in the future.
534  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which project/token inflicted your biggest loss? on: February 18, 2024, 06:02:24 AM
In retrospect, the crypto project that I lost the most belonged to a ponzi service Bitcoinnect Smiley , it's not necessarily a sad memory when I admit that at that time personal greed was really great when it was easy to make money from lending, but over time I was also swept away by it. That was a great lesson that helped me become more aware of making money and investing in cyberspace.

Although I also made a lot of mistakes in the previous cycle with FOMO following many different projects, looking back, it was also a journey of accumulating experience at the expense of my own money.
535  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Any upcoming gems like Celestia? on: February 14, 2024, 08:02:47 AM
(...)
At this point, I am looking at projects like Starknet, Polyhedra, Blast, Taiko, Eigenlayer, Wormhole, Mode, Drift Protocol, zkSync. Your thoughts?
Speaking of popularity, the projects you mentioned are quite familiar and not the same as the GEM term that I understand. But no matter if in the future they will be leading projects in space, I a little bit thinking about L1 being speculative like TIA, and I still feel there is no need for newness because we also have ATOM.

I have also heard about many L1, but the competition and potential of new projects must be very high to be able to gain market share in the space.

537  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: To what extent have you hated yourself due to your gambling losses? on: February 02, 2024, 07:50:59 AM
(...)
So, let's share our worst gambling experiences, have you ever hated yourself so much due to lack of winnings in gambling? To what extent, and how did it end?

Do you still hate yourself even now?  Grin

I don't think about "hate" but I will admit my mistakes. But in the process of gambling, I learned to be responsible when playing, and there is nothing beyond my control to be upset with everything around me.

And honestly, I feel pretty lucky when I gamble, so not only was the experience good, but the results made me happy. But I have lost many times, and I still smile that this is simply a game and I am the one who controls it, not letting it control the other way around.

Most people lose control and feel uncomfortable when gambling, which puts them in difficult situations, so trying to stay alert is the most basic thing.
538  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What price can XRP realistically reach this bull run? on: February 02, 2024, 07:33:24 AM
I first started buying XRP in June last year and did so in the hope it could reach $7-10 this coming bull run.

I am just wondering how many of us hold XRP and what realistic price target should be this bull run?

I am currently 7% up on my position and wondering if I should hold till peak of bull run next year or swap it soon for something else

I'll take a profit of around $5, but I'm not sure everything will go well. This is also a cryptocurrency that I am also interested in, but only a small part of it. In general, it will also benefit from the bull season, but don't expect too much because I think XRP also has a lot of instability. However, there is still a certain amount of optimism about it, but recent surrounding news makes I have the feeling it's a price manipulation tactic to accumulate elephants. The rest is waiting for everything to come, if you really have faith in it, be more patient and also convince yourself of your ability to target.
539  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Claim $WEN airdrop if you are active on Solana on: January 30, 2024, 07:42:29 AM
Unclaimed amount (~271B $WEN) was burned successfully: https://twitter.com/wenwencoin/status/1752008920942428451

Unfortunately, burn didn't have any impact on price.

It must be admitted that Jupiter is very generous to give hundreds of millions of dollars to airdrop users, and things will not stop yet, perhaps this is just the beginning for the upcoming launch of JUP.
IMO, WEN has also brought an exciting atmosphere and the CEX plans seem to be gradually welcomed, they are actually nice airdrops.
540  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's in Store for Crypto in the Coming Months? on: January 28, 2024, 08:11:02 AM
Op, also stated a point of view that I think is the same. Volatility is likely, as we get closer to events in the bitcoin space that will focus on the halving. There is no doubt that news will be spread to attract confidence, just as FUD will be spread to create suspicion. Although I don't care too much about the next few months about prices, because the amplitude I can feel fluctuates around 30%, so I'm ready for any scenario.

One thing I also see is that the attention to bitcoin is gradually returning more, as we start to discuss more about price and speculate about events in 2024 absolutely positive signs. It is extremely difficult to see large price increases, and as described every DIP is well received at this stage.
