tried to register, but did not give me a confirmation. when I then want to log in with my username it does not work Thanks Kiba. I have heaps of ideas but no way to put them into practice. Maybe that will help. Who you're quoting? Ah sorry clicked the wrong reply. When I tried to join your group it says the membership fee is 10 dollars a day. Membership fee is 5 bitcoins every 2 weeks.

Two casino! A duopoly in the the bitcoin market.

I am thinking a possible downward spiral to the 0.060 price range since there were a large of bids in the 10,000 bitcoins were.

Thanks I fixed. What do you want the name to be? you have 30 characters
Bitcoin Mutual Aid Association

I used it to create the first ever mutual aid society for bitcoin, the Bitcoin Mutual Aid Association! http://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1395.0I think if you submit a name too long, it will redirect you to a "Group not found", but the group is created already.

I discovered the same thing when I posted about bitcoin at freedominion.ca. This is a forum devoted to conservative and libertarian discussion, yet the response I got regarding bitcoin was pretty dismal.
It is sad that our libertarian comrades don't agree across the board. Only crypto-anarchists comrades agree that this is a good idea.

we could also ask chess web sites to accept payments
i.e. gameknot.com
etc.
This is not a thread about asking existing services but for bitcoiners to suggest niches and work on niches.

|
|
Of course, in a few years time when people look back they will wonder with amazement why such an "obvious" idea was so hard to explain.
I think we have a long discussion about the economic of bitcoins until all the misconceptions of the bitcoiners boiled away.

I updated the wanted niches list to include local classified ads niche.

Without any evidence apart from my own feelings, I think the 30day withholding period is going to cause more volitility.
It would be better if veteran traders can opt out of the 30 days withdrawal. I think it would be a nice feature of a paid mtgox account.

I am pledging a bitcoin bounty of 10 BTC for the development of a chrome extension that interface with a bitcoin wallet or create one.
It must do the following.
1. Automatic receive and confirmation. 2. Detect payment options on website. A way to click "buy" and bitcoins are deducted. 3. Tell us how many bitcoins there are in the wallet.
It doesn't need to have bitcoin generation feature or any of that, just a very simple wallet management system built right in. Extra bonus points if wallets can access services like mybitcoin.
Pledges:
1. 10 BTC - kiba Paid.
2. 100 BTC - TTbit Paid.
3. 100 BTC -Bitcoinex 4. 40 BTC - sandos
5. 50 BTC - Blimmerhead Paid
300 BTC total.

Easy to sell gift cards and money, but nothing much else. Somebody brought a computer, though.

We're talking dating instead of mutual aid?

Somehow they don't seem to be that big yet (not as big as bitcoin): metacurrency : no real software, only some flash widgets. opencoin: academic researcher project and has lawyers, lot of info but no real downloadable implementation github: server and client code, but looks alpha stage, no gui, no real website, centralized? Of all 3 the github one looks the most promising alternative, but none seem to have places to spend the currency. Github is not the name of the software. It is the name of the git host.

Someone asked if it was possible to donate to Freenet development via bitcoins. The response from a freenet developer was that 'putting it on the website would probably be pointless; nobody EVER uses anything but paypal'. However they did say they were willing to accept bitcoin donations for the project privately if they were for more than the equivalent of $100 US (presumably to reduce transaction fees when converting). If they knew there was interest in donating from bitcoin users they might be more receptive to making an option publicly available.
The chicken and the egg problem.

Well. We experienced another day of volume record breaking. I think for the first time, we actually exceed slashdot era price record.
What can I say? It's absolutely nut.

Perhaps now is the time to discuss actual implementation of a reputation system. As it stand, a German scammer probably got away with some bitcoins.
