I think the blockchain app is blockchain.info and I think the blockchain.info you can download your keys.
542  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [JUST LAUNCHED] Package Forwarding Service Accepting Bitcoin & Dogecoin Payments on: March 03, 2014, 02:08:19 PM
Dang 70% on DHL, what about reversed? What if I need a package from another country to the USA? I spend a few hundred dollars a month with DHL outside to USA it could be of use to have a 70% discount!

-Potential security issues
-Potential loss of coins
If you use services like bitpay you remove these problems

Not entirely.
A merchant that withdraws their coins to a wallet located on their PC that is poorly secured can get his/her coins stolen, or lose them if they do not make a backup and experience a disk failure.

But if you're smart enough to be a business owner, I'm sure you're smart enough to know how to secure your coins. Besides you can get a QR code for bitpay, and they can store your coins on site wallet. I don't think bitpay is going anywhere soon, seeing as they're thriving as is.
544  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I lost my house, my car, wife kids, yacht, because of bitcoin! on: February 27, 2014, 09:08:08 PM
I literally lost my shirt when Gox died, please donate a few bits my way.   Cry

Dam you Bitcoin, I would've still had my shirt!   Angry

A wax would work too Smiley
545  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I lost my house, my car, wife kids, yaht, because of bitcoin! on: February 27, 2014, 08:49:37 PM
where's your donation link?
jk

seriously, there are real people who lost real money or assets. mtgox did something absolutely terrible.
let the people grieve. obviously there are those who are truly grieving, those that are mocking them, and those that are just using the situation.

i lost a bit of self respect.

I lost around $12000 in BTC a few months back, I said fucccccccccccck that sucks, and moved on, I chuckle about it when I tell people what happened. And no I'm not wealthy, but I also didn't gamble with my rent, or kids college funds.

The only red flags mtgox didn't have on it was on their homepage saying this would happen.
546  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin In The Local News on: February 27, 2014, 08:43:44 PM
Pretty neat, normally the reporters don't do anything if you stand behind them, we can all grab signs and stand behind them lol.
547  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Senator asks U.S. to ban Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies on: February 27, 2014, 08:42:13 PM
Even if it were banned world wide, it would still be of use in the United States...

549  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I lost my house, my car, wife kids, yaht, because of bitcoin! on: February 27, 2014, 08:38:59 PM
I feel your pain bro!

Highly doubting you even read it, it was sarcasm.
550  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Accepting Bitcoin as Payment at Your Business — Good Idea or Bad? on: February 27, 2014, 08:34:11 PM
I sell ecigs on the weekend at a flea market, my sign has the visa/mc/amex logo and a big we accept bitcoin logo, I had a woman say kind of rudely you should not accept that its not real currency, I chuckled and said I used to get 3 bitcoin per starter kit normally $45 (quite a few bitcoins made btw), I sold them for $1000 each. Shut her right the fuck up and she kept walking.
551  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / I lost my house, my car, wife kids, yacht, because of bitcoin! on: February 27, 2014, 08:31:15 PM
No you didn't, you did it because you're foolish enough to gamble on something in its infancy, and not watch the markets. Everyone seen this coming, you just didn't listen to the consequences. It's not the fault of bitcoin you were reckless and put your or your kids life savings into something, and lost it because you didn't secure your wallet, or you were using an exchange that had 10 new complains daily. And I see a lot of people who claim to be day traders complaining about how they bought at 900, sold at 850 bought back at 925 and resold at 7. That's your own ignorance, please stop blaming bitcoin.
Gox was taking weeks to WD bitcoin for how long now? Why would you have even kept your coin there..

And stop posting your donation link, no one cares you need drugs.
552  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Insane! bitcoin rules eBay on: February 27, 2014, 08:19:29 PM
Ebay just didn't catch the bitcoin thing, they would have canceled it.

Mods, admins.
554  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: dogecoin LIED and created the illusion of popularity when no-one liked it on: February 24, 2014, 09:00:16 PM
Hmmm interesting.
I was there when it first started. I must be one of those paid posters.

It's honestly such a stupid idea to do what they did (IF they did).
Paying many people to post and hype would cost so much that if it failed, you're totally screwed.
Free economy. Inform people and let them decide for themselves.

It was done in secret. Are you denying that dogecoin had mass-spam paid posters working for them, and may still have paid posters working for them? Make some logical sense here. Its a dog coin.

As a dog coin, it should be trading somewhere with shitcoin or other garbage coins in price, but due to the fact
that it isn't, therefore we have to try and figure out this coin...

Its definitely NOT as it says it is, that is for sure. Misrepresentation. LIES.

.... Dogecoin was made by reddit users.. Who have more users than bitcoin. A mass community supporting a coin based off a community meme and you think it won't be more popular than the Altcoin posted here? It already had a userbase before it was known about. It would be like if the admins of this site made bitcointalk coin and advertised it all over the forums..
555  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What does bitcoin foundation do? on: February 15, 2014, 04:21:58 AM
As far as I know they don't do anything. As far as I'm aware they just appointed themselves the "foundation" and collected donations for a membership.
556  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The REAL reason the govt. doesn't want u using Bitcoins on: February 14, 2014, 07:20:09 PM
Erm... they estimate you need 1 million bills to get a gram of cocaine. Seeing as you would need to absorb 100,000 bills to get high, I'm doubting it.

P.S. I'm doubting many people who like blow use $100 bills because they already used it to buy the blow.
557  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What have you purchased with your BC? on: February 14, 2014, 02:39:26 PM
I bought a PS3 on the forums here for around 10-15 btc, used it once. And a concealed carry gun holder for around 1.5btc.
I've sold a good hundred or two btc worth of misc things too.
558  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Silk Road 2.0 hacked through malleability, ~4000 BTC STOLEN on: February 14, 2014, 02:37:25 PM
Malleability? Hahahaha, the fucking admins stole all of it. What kind of idiot would put money into that website is beyond me.

Why would the already wealthy admins of a darknet site steal a measly 4000 BTC when running the site with its reputation intact would net you 1000+BTC per week?

You don't know how wealthy they are. Fuck, SR 2 has only been up for a short period of time. If 4000 BTC meant nothing to them they would have eaten the loss and not said a fucking word about it as to keep trust in the site.

Also, where the fuck do you get off thinking they make 1000+ BTC a week?

And who said they were not? SR 1.0 made 125k BTC in a year.
559  Other / Meta / Re: Questions to theymos about the $350,000 forum software project on: February 14, 2014, 01:51:49 PM
Naturally, clients that are pleased with our work will suggest us to others and so on. Basically what I'm trying to say, was that we didn't have a need to build out the website.

So what you're saying is, you started up a company, with no website, but somehow found million/billion dollar businesses to buy code from you, without previous work, (because everyone knows everyone gets a NDA so they just have to trust you...) and you don't need to build your website and or portfolio because you're so busy with work, you can take the time out of the day to earn some chump change to build forum software? And the only way these million/billion dollar businesses know about you is word of mouth? So theymos knows the admin of a major site such as walmart, bank of america, how about chase bank who referred you to him? I'm highly sliptical pun intended!
560  Other / Meta / Re: Questions to theymos about the $1,000,000 forum software project on: February 14, 2014, 01:20:32 PM
How much of that 350k is being sent back to your bank account so you're not accused if stealing funds? We're not 9 years old and stupid enough to believe you found a company that doesn't even have a website to build forum software for 350,000. Sounds like one of those ill give my friend the job type deals. I'll await the oh he scammed me messages.
