Can you imagine, a world where the whole economy stands under the intense fear of instant collapse each time a large financial transaction takes place?
Yes. Yes I can Well that's stupid. I can't. Can you imagine a world where the solution to the problem you imply is simply not knowing if and when large financial transactions are taking place? The real world - The less you know, the happier you are!Yes I think nobody should know about any financial transactions except the own. A superior cryptographic payment system to Bitcoin should have that property. I even go further, I wish that no amount of any data anybody generates is available to anybody else unless it's made available on purpose. - To the extent that contracts waving away these rights are completely unenforceable, not by law but by systematics.

Thank you for the link, it certainly looks interesting. Good to see that some academics are actually doing work rather than just trolling internet forums. Be careful they eat people alive here for debating this.

Everybody is waiting for it to bounce.

You have to distinguish regular bots run by traders to automate their trading system and bots run by fraudulent exchange operators to manipulate the market with fake funds. The former is no cause for concern, the latter is. In case of mtgox, willy & co there is even cause for suspicion that they were ultimately responsible for the "missing" funds.
When posting about bots you should make it clear which one you are referring to.

Gentlemen. Miss Cassandra_PR has made a substantial investment in the quality artworks of The NotLambchop. Do welcome her to your fine amateur investment club.
How many alts do you have! Alot of precious time and effort wasted away in this forum posting stupid gifs. Do you have a day job, or do you just troll the forums in your jammies non stop while your mama makes you PB&J's? He just gets his shilling checks from the People's Bank of China, not the Deutsche Bank like me.

As of 2010 VISA could handle a daily load of between 2,000 - 5,000 transactions per second, with a burst capacity of 24,000. IO, disk space consumption, processing overhead, as well as network communication efficiency are all in need of major innovation. What a bunch of baloney. There is more than enough processing power to have practically any amount of financial transactions. Transfering and processing a number two account numbers and some hashes can be done million times every second on a smartphone. The reason VISA can't is because there is a human factor involved with every transaction.

Probably it has been that way since half a decade, just the method of their statistics did "favor" the US or the western states.

The real "enemies" come out it's own ranks, the bunch of sociopaths who at one point are praised as the paragons of the community and then later sack in a bunch of Bitcoins under some pretense. Oh and not forget the suckers who shill for their schemes. Bruce Wagner was the first and Mark Karpeles is just the latest. And its never gonna stop.... never!

Why not wait until it's natively supported? They just released the smart contracts API Codius which can be used for such a thing. You'd even have a chance of turning a profit by then.
I'd even offer to be a counterparty, but I'll want USD as collateral.
