I shall be speaking with the site admin regarding my outstanding concerns shortly.
Imho its a good sign when an operator is happy to discuss their RNG and wants to help make it easier for players to confirm. Keep up the good work.

"Site Owner passionately defends the use of the N-Word as a derogatory slur." Mem, this is really disingenuous. Never did I "passionately defend the use of the N-Word." My thesis, if you care to understand it, was that Mircea's post was not racist. You're welcome to disagree with this thesis if you like, but the quote above is disingenuous. My thesis was NOT that it's okay to use the N-Word or that I supported Mircea doing that. I do not think he should be using that word. I also don't think the post is racist. Using a word does not make one racist. One is racist if one believes in inherent inferiority of an individual based on his race. Mircea doesn't believe that, and specifically stated such in the post. You ignore that fact. I do not understand why you fail to see this distinction, and it feels as if you're simply trying to stir up drama, make enemies, and crusade against people based on very dubious assertions. The quote above from your gambling list is deceptive. It is factually wrong, but I suppose you'll keep it anyway. That was also pretty classy of you to lock your thread after you got the last word in. Stated in bullet points for you: - I am not racist. I don't give a damn about peoples' skin color. - I do not believe Mircea is a racist, although he is certainly an elitist, is very brash, and very offensive to some people. - I do not believe Mircea's post is racist. Those who find it offensive are getting caught up in the use of one word and failing to understand the meaning of the commentary. - I do not defend the use of the N-word, ever. Do you need it any more clearly spelled out or will you perpetuate the witch hunt? Erik, it is clear you do not appreciate the damage and hurt Mircrea's language causes or you do and feign ignorance (I hope its just the regular kind of ignorance). Either way, SatoshiDice and all MPEx businesses listed here shall be accompanied by a note warning against supporting these types of individuals. There is a south park episode you should watch, perhaps it would educate you some on racial sensitivity which I feel you and many others here need. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/With_Apologies_to_Jesse_JacksonYou keep trying to label this as a witch hunt except thats just you attempting to defeat my position by using a strawman argument. I guess you are not used to how Boycotts work, here is some further reading material on this for you: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boycott- I do not believe Mircea's post is racist. Those who find it offensive are getting caught up in the use of one word and failing to understand the meaning of the commentary. - I do not defend the use of the N-word, ever. This is not what I read in your recent comment, you went to great lengths to defend his use of the N-word in his "article", insisting that he is not racist but only using the negative racial slur in a derogatory fashion for a group but not a racial group. My stance shall not change, Mircea is a racist piece of shit that this world is better off without - I shall not support or endorse any business associated with the individual for the very clear reasons above. I apologize for the original tone of my post, I was nearly vomiting with rage amd disgust after some concerned friends bought this to my attention and could not distance myself from MPEx and its associates quickly enough. Frankly Erik we are of two incompatible mindsets, I do not tolerate racial slurs or those that make them. Watch the south park episode if you have not already then if you wish, discuss with me further on google chat, my email is mem.namefix at gmail dot com

This is the BitcoinTalk.org forums, these forums exsist to talk about bitcoins, and the things related to them, If you want help with Junkcoins, Goto the Alt-Coins section of this forum Slow down there buddy, he is a newbie in newbie gaol - where else can he comment. Im unfamilair with Junkcoin - sounds like a bad joke, anyway. Easiest thing to do in these scenario's is to backup your wallet, delete your local blockchain and resync.

Warning, Site operator refuses to back up their claims of "provably fair".
My outstanding concern is that the client side RNG is not easily verifiable for the end user and the user cannot set their own seed.
The site can easily insert a predictable client side RNG every N refreshes to take advantage of players.
Regarding our game being probably fair anyone is free to refresh the page as many times as they'd like to check whether the client-side seed is being sourced from anywhere other than a locally seeded RNG. This is all independently verifiable, just like every other provably fair system. If SatoshiCircle were to be influencing the spins, we would have a very high risk of being caught by anyone doing a simple audit of the Javascript. We encourage anyone to audit our code. It's out there for anyone to see. Instead of requiring a high level of technical knowledge and auditing javascript why not the following which I have suggested several times to you before: I suggest providing a hash of the client side RNG and allowing users to provide their own seeds. Providing a hash of the client side RNG generator itself and a verification method is also recommended.

It would be great if you could either add http://blockend.net to your list or if not offer me some feedback as to how it can be improved and subsequently added to said list. Currently: Min bet is 1 satoshi... lol Max bet is not applicable so it can be anything Provably fair all results are on the blockchain Hi bitspill, if you want to hurry things up a bit chat with me on gmail talk - (mem.namefix at gmail.com). I'll have a look during my lunch break and will reply shortly. edit: ok this is a nice simple idea, I like it. Nice to see previous rounds and complete FAQ addressing my usual questions. I shall give it a try and report back shortly.

PPC is major scam. Premine - no Innovative - yes. Is there something Im missing ?
|
|
|
For example if it's 32 but I bet 0.1BTC on 1-12 I would receive 0.00000032BTC This is the same way satoshiroulette.com works (inspired ? ), I think its a great system. Its how I play on my phone, I just save the addresses I want to bet on. You both may have trouble with the 0.8.2 bitcoin client blocking transactions under 5400 satoshis.

Obligatory "hey what about Devcoin, it's an awesome altchain" comment.
Also, every time someone defends Bitbar by declaring it didn't premine, I die of laughter. Kills me every time.
hehe devcoin, where 80% of mined coins go to the devs to support them adding new features. has this actually worked, did the devs do any serious innovations on top of the bitcoin protocol ? Thanks OP for the tips...but I'm curious about your thoughts on FRC?
Im not familiar enough with it to comment honestly. 5% coin decay PA doesn't seem like a way to encourage adoption, BUT it is someone new so it should live or die depending on the ideas merits. Solidcoin did something similar but gave the taxed coins back to the creator, I think sending to the miners is a better option. I can see big vendors being reluctant to adopt it, they are already taxed by their government, I dont think anyone would volunteer for another tax. note: updated the conditions to also include Open Source - something that should have been obvious but we have coins like XRP.

Now back to the facts at hand. The current outstanding issues are: https://forums.butterflylabs.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=755&d=1364793240 luke achieving 24.85GH on https://products.butterflylabs.com/30gh-bitcoin-miner.html which at the time the bet was made was advertised as 40gh. Regardless of delivery method, the model delivered was not one of the original SC line up but one added after the afterwards when they failed to achieve their original quoted performance. It did not meet hash rate of the BitForce SC Single model of 40GH or equal to or greater than 75% of 40GH (30GH). The description clearly states the bet concerns the 3 products described here: http://news.yahoo.com/butterfly-labs-announces-next-generation-asic-lineup-054626776.htmlBFL Josh has confirmed the following (thank you josh): Yes, the product was the first Little Single we produced. regarding lukes order. Coinjedi makes the following argument after I have raised these facts with him: As far as we can tell the hashrate claims have changed several times. Their mid-range product is split into two from 40 Gh/s to 30 and 60 products, long before the bet deadline. Am I missing anything, Micon do you want to waffle on about someones religion a bit ? MrPOO-ER want to spew more lies ? Players anymore actual verifiable content you care to provide ?
My final line of enquiry is to ask BFL to provide a timeline of when the quoted GH changed on the models. My personal opinion at this stage is that the bet conditions were not met due to lukes model not being one of the 3 products identified in the description. Interpreting Coinjedi's response It seems that bet conditions can change during the bet - this is quite concerning and I have asked for this to be confirmed or futher explained. Comments please.
Id like to thank Syke for taking the time to discuss this issue in detail with me over google chat. For anyone else wanting to discuss this with me directly hit me up on (mem.namefix at gmail.com) if you want chat about this or just feeling lonely ? Also thanks to Inaba for confirming LukeJr's order.

Thoughts recently:
1) Mem - stop accusing racism vs. MPOE - IMO it's clouding discussion of issues. Even if you personally feel this way, I can assure you others do not, and it's cheapening the brand of your gambling list. IMO keep it just to gambling. Nope, you may be fine with casual racism - I am not. 2) MPOE - stop antagonizing mem, in general. Ignore if you must, but don't cheapen your own brand by engaging. I make this mistake all the damn time. LOL "brand". 3) Luke-Jr will continue to shill for BFL, especially if he believes this is the fast track to his personal order fulfillment. I have heard rumors he is religious, so this blatant denial of the truth should come easily and I doubt he will ever reverse himself. What exactly does someones faith have to do with this Micon ? Mem, as a decade+ professional gambler I have seen many bets settled fairly and a handful settled unfairly. Whoop de fucking do da. This is outright fraud or at the very worst gross incompetence. If betsofbitco.in continues to be listed on your list as "not a total scam" or at the very least with a strong warning and link to this thread then you will have cheapened the brand that is your list. You precious primadona, I need clear facts not a soapbox speech. Had you bothered to check betsofbitco.in now has an asterix next to their name linking to this thread. This is permanent.

While I somewhat agree I have to say that this argument negates your entire post:
"litecoin - not the first to add scrypt but most successful."
How can it then be a 'real' coin according to all your other arguments?
Im not a huge fan of LTC, but in full disclosure I do hold several thousand of them as a long term investment. The other altcoins to add scrypt were all premined and failed because of it. It is useful to see the bitcoin protocol using a different encryption, for only this reason litecoin is useful. That being said, development has ground to a stand still and I feel the fee on ltc are far to high. Heh, I'd rather make early profits and ignore "imagined" loss than speculate on doomed coins and take advice from anyone.
But, each to their own, good-luck with your profits.

OK, it has finally hit the point where we are seeing 1-3 new altcoins every week. For any other software project Id argue this is a great thing but for crypto currencies its a terrible thing.
First let me start by showing some good examples of altcoins:
* litecoin - not the first to add scrypt but most successful. * ppcoin - a genuine innovation on bitcoin protocol.
Now let me show what I consider to be bad altcoins:
* CNC * RUC * TRC * BitBar * FTC
Russiacoin and Chinacoin are transparent attempts to make money of patriots and nationalists with more money than common sense (most of them). For a coin to be official for a country it needs to be officially endorsed, not made by a script kiddy and supported by a rabbid circle jerk.
TRC & FTC - Mere tweaks of bitcoin and nothing more. The danger with this coins is that the developer/s often do not have the skills required to do more than tweak the settings and compile. Should they come under attack (as TRC recently did) the devs may find themselves sorely tested until their breaking point. Every issue/ DoS exploit discovered in the bitcoin protocol is likely to be patched before anouncement or within the hour of said announcement. The much smaller dev teams for these altcoins have to race to apply patches and test them against their tweaked (sometimes modified) bitcoin client resulting in a far greater window for an attacker to abuse.
Bitbar - the most transparent "Read Set Go Mine Mine Mine Mine Mine *FUCK OFF ITS NOT A PREMINE YOU HATER*" altcoin I have ever seen. Same applies to CNC.
Novacoin - to soon to tell, being a PoS system with scrypt does make it unique to the rest at this point, whether its enough to garner serious interest is another thing. The few services that do support have tumbleweeds rolling around. Novacoin did demonstrate the issue with doing a semi private release first.
Tips for creating a viable altcoin:
* Be a competent c++ programmer. * Innovate - pick an issue bitcoin has and attempt to solve it like PoS. * co-ordinate the release, dont announce it in your little sub forum and then a week later to the rest of the world (bad karma). * Set the initial difficulty very high, lest you want the same fiasco that CNC created with blocks being mined every 10 seconds by the devs. It should take a good sized pool 15min-1h to find your first block. Let the difficulty adjust naturally, dont low ball it for you and your early adopter buddies. * Pre Announce its release, let people know its coming so they can be ready for it. * Project MUST BE open source.

Also to the people placing these wagers, you need to be more vigilant over what you are actually gambling on. exactly, bitcoin is about personal responsibility - dont suddenly forget this when your gambling, its more important than ever. If you leave in room for unexpected half-outcomes you are betting at terrible odds most likely. Well said. In situations like the ones mentioned above, the websites themselves should be held accountable if they approved it and should simply award everyone the prize. Now that is an interesting punishment and one I could definitely get behind. In fact, a site that did this I would openly applaud as it would truly show your clients you have no designs to scam them.

In my opinion, Luke-Jr is a scammer himself, who only "accepted" the "Luke Unit" in a deliberate attempt to shill for BFL and rig the bet. I would not be surprised, this is why the bet should have specified X forums members, perhaps using 1 of those preorder lists and stating must be confirmed by 1 of the first 25 people. Still then you have to worry that the 25 people will collude, bet against BFL delivering and then lie if the package is delivered in time. The "Luke Unit" was not one of the three units the bet specified, so even if they had "shipped" it, it didn't qualify. Thats an interesting, I shall query this further with some of the people in questions (just incase this is more than a mere bet being canceled due to conflicting descriptions). I feel the site operators decision to nullify the bet due to a conflicting title and description was the right one, but the timing of when it was done was just plain lousy.
