561  Economy / Economics / Re: Money creation system - is bitcoin creation resistant? on: February 17, 2019, 05:24:44 PM
What extra option would you like to see in this pull? I can update it for you and others.
For example something like "idk" "hard to say" "rather not" "maybe", you know less black and white.
562  Economy / Economics / Re: Institutional money into Crypto? on: February 17, 2019, 04:29:51 PM
The money needed to enter the market is the average joes who don't even know how to use bitcoin.
No. This is the exact type of "their" thinking.
We need those people to enter but only with knowledge. What good is there from speculators and opportunists?
Plummets and volatility, nothing more. We need stable adoption by those who care for their own and their kids freedom.

Agreed on all the rest you have written, "they" are already in, most likely playing dirty by now.
563  Other / Meta / Re: How can we take Bitcoin Talk back into the Bitcoin community? on: February 17, 2019, 02:46:17 PM
-snip-
In the end though, IMO many perceive forums like Bitcointalk as a relic of a bygone age. And unless all major social media platforms suddenly imploded, I don't think the situation is gonna change any time soon. However, if Bitcointalk upgraded it's software, supercharged it's attention towards effectively managing the community and put in effort into marketing itself, it might be able to regain it's position as the premier platform for crypto-related discussion for everyone.
Then it will stop being bitcointalk, at least for me.
There is this thing about relicts, they tend to gain value with time. I think it will happen here also.
Even in today times we can see how people react to old satoshis posts. Ton's of merits, threads are still active and links to his words are still being interchanged, discussed. This won't stop, you are right, its like fuel in perpetual motion machine.
I think bitcoin needs this place to stay a little archaic, out of time, mostly because it needs backstory. Some sort of a background.
In modern era conservative nature seems old-fashioned, pase even but nevertheless rock solid. Most stable constructions are built on bedrock, not sand and that's why this place is still alive, thriving in fact.
There also this; don't fix, what is not broken; rule, so in my mind this place is bitcoin Smiley the other side of the same coin, in some sense.
People just don't seem to realise this.

Is this because mainstream Bitcoin users and developers are not aware of the forum, or that they feel it is no longer relevant?
IMO normal people actually don't know about this place, because it became competitive due to sig.campaigns and in the interest of members is to keep it obscured. Devs... idk, they should at least be aware but remember the times when almost every new project was called a scam and hyena feeding of original idea?  Roll Eyes might be the reason, I guess.
564  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Prediction Markets for Political Betting on: February 17, 2019, 01:42:23 PM
This is truly an untapped market by blockchain related gamble houses. I would also love to bet on our presidential election coming up in 4days time 16th February 2019 but can't find any house offering that service maybe they haven't considered Africa countries due to the high level of election rigging and most election isn't free and fair.
Where such idea looks quite interesting, there is this possibility for such bets to be partially illegal.
I'm obviously lacking the knowledge with all the laws being in play throughout African states, I can only transpose it to my local election ordinance. Looks like having an open and active poll about ongoing elections has the possibility to be in conflict with so called election silence. Some over-zealous lawyer can interpret such public poll as an offence to that law, resulting in serious problems.
This may be a reason for the scarcity of this kind of bets. Personally I wouldn't take any chances.
565  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Buy now or wait? on: February 17, 2019, 01:30:26 PM
I will suggest you to buy because in the middle of 2019 a big bull will definite come in the crypto market so but more and more.
You just can not know this. And yet you sound like having hundred percent certitude.
That can be harmful, such blunt statements I mean. Investing should be made only with extra money, just like in gambling because trading resembles games of chances these days. In my opinion, nobody should take advices and act solely upon them.
OP should make his mind and either risk something or not based on his own analysis. Suggestions are a different story.
566  Other / Meta / Merit number indicator on showPost list ? on: February 16, 2019, 02:51:54 PM
Merit number indication on " show last post of this person" list.
Is this possible, is this a good idea, is this necessary and useful?

I think it may come in handy as a utility for campaign managers.
Most of campaigns today, exclude posts in local boards. Understandable cause polyglottism is ultra rare.
But if a manager could spot, that local community finds a post merit worthy then maybe he could consider including it as pBTC2p?
567  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcoin Casinos on: February 16, 2019, 12:06:47 PM
I think that casinos will gradually loose their impact on bitcoin, eventually reaching influence values at close to zero.
May be unfortunate but it is unpreventable. Majority of bitcoin gambling success was achieved because there was little to none means for spending BTC. Now we have many alternatives so cash flow will become more and more disperse.
Obviously crypto-gambling will never die, as new altcoins emerge but good old bitcoin will detach at rather fast rate.
This is just me speculating but based on my recent observations, this hypothesis seems adequate.
568  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: How to connect cryptocurrencies to banks... on: February 16, 2019, 11:37:55 AM
We define questions to solve our problem:
1. Anonymity.
2. Single algorithm.

at1. There is this old saying, "registration is the first step to confiscation"
The moment we loose anonymity factor, will be our last. There will be nothing that could stop them.
What was electronically given, can be physically taken away because nothing is secret. We saw just that already.
at2. No one can force people to leave btc blockchain behind and use some other instead.
Voluntary switch could happen only if the technology offered, display tremendous improvement (still doubtful)
in all aspects (look above). Such loop simply can not be broken, sooner delegitimization brings the market down.

Nevertheless nice post, professionally presented.
569  Local / Polski / Re: Bitcoin cyfrowym złotem??? on: February 16, 2019, 12:18:13 AM
570  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Unelectric Bitcoin Society on: February 15, 2019, 04:25:38 PM
You have made the grade poptok for your idea of sending bitcoin using acoustic drums
you are now graduated from prospect to official member of the Unelectric Bitcoin Society, Brilliant!
Hooray!  Grin I'm a MUBTCS now, it's official  Cool
For your information, I'm also a member of electric universe society but i think those two are not mutually exclusive titles Wink
I'll be wearing this palm with pride, Member of Unelectric BTC Society, ah sounds electrifying (pun intended).
Bonny and congenial topic, it's OK to have fun once in a while.
571  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If... on: February 15, 2019, 10:37:52 AM
If you're the one who gets addicted, what possibilities can you do?
First of all one needs to realise that he is addicted. Profound realisation of self limitation and weaknesses isn't an easy task.
Psychological blockade called denial will take its effect, efficiently locking a person within the problem, without any awareness of it.
True self honesty may be insufficient to deal with the trauma, help from outside seems mandatory. As you said, a person emotionally close to addicted one, has the power to wake anger, self-awareness and as a result acceptance. Easier said than done, that's why professional help may come in handy.
572  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Unelectric Bitcoin Society on: February 15, 2019, 08:14:06 AM
Is stuff like this even necessary?
Probably not. But as a thought experiment, it could be quite entertaining.
Most obvious choice would be to use snail-mail right? But that's just boring, I guess OP wants something more extraordinary.
So how about music? I mean rhythms, big-ass bells, gongs or war drums?
Should do the trick, problem is that any bystander can hear this, using some sort of cipher would be required.
There is also pigeon mail...  Roll Eyes ridiculous but may work quite fast, although eagles or hawks may hunt your courier down  Cry
Nevertheless electricity will be mandatory at some point, no escape. Besides when we loose the electrical grid worldwide, bitcoins will be the last thing we would worry about.
And as my predecessor NeuroticFish said, there is also an issue with trust.
573  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Generational change – the most powerful Bitcoin price catalyst on: February 15, 2019, 07:30:24 AM
Much of the new generation kids come under the influence of the free digital crypto currency named "Bitcoin"...
-snipped picture-
Time for plan BTC This pic. gave me chills  Cheesy
It's so true, plan for making world great again and almost no word in mainstream. It always felt like revolution to me, no wonder it resonates to younger generation as the right path. It is a little anarchistic, secrecy of satoshi makes the entire movement somewhat romantic, poetic even epic. I wonder now, when a new term for this generation will get coined? generationB cryptoGen chainAtion
I'm sure that rather sooner then later, someone will use similar terms.

The most important photo you probably never saw and most likely you don't understand.

His look...  like asking this question... can you see?
"As far as the laws of mathematics refer to reality, they are not certain; and as far as they are certain, they do not refer to reality." A.Einstein

This is the equation for time dilatation in presence of enormous gravitational fields.
Above photo was taken while Einstein was deriving his version of this equation.
R_ik=r=1-B^2_e=r_i

Completely Offline Bitcoin Transactions

Some cool info above. Worth looking into. Looks like it's already a thing.
No internet plan needed to handle transactions.

576  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Newbie should trade or not? Please give me idea. on: February 13, 2019, 12:58:40 PM
I should trade or not? I really want to receive the instruction of the go-ahead, thank a lots.
If you have to start trading, you will have to start at some point. In my opinion it would be better to trade sooner rather than later.
Newbie or not, you will need experience, a lot of it. Start slow and gather as much data as possible. Use small amount of money and simply begin your training. Nothing will show you better how trading is like than trading itself, right?
It is like with learning how to swim, you cant do in on shore, it would be stupid to start at open seas so use the the pool.
Small quantities of coins will be your lifeguard.
Those instructions that you're requesting only have the potential to fool you. You need your own way, make it from scratch.
577  Other / Off-topic / on Mystery schools Babylon on: February 12, 2019, 11:25:30 PM
Mystery-schools-Babylon true meaning: or what all those fancy illuminati are all about;

Every child experiences his parent death. Erth is our mom and she is going to die, there is nothing we can do to stop it.
We are destined to bury her in cold, vast grave of the cosmos, to be never found again.
Our fate is to leave home and journey among the stars, amid thousands points of illumination.

Much ado about nothing
And thst's it, circle of life basically, may be a little depressing but let's face it, it's the truth and it's that simple.
Can we as a species finally understand this, before its to late? Hard to say, there is still a chance I guess.
Few more cycles left until sun dies but nevertheless time is running out and we are still at war with each other...

The cycles
Sure, life in the next cycle will be completely disconnected from us but it doesn't change the facts. Planet is fragile and it can be destroyed any time. We have the opportunity now, we have the technology, resources and time[?].

Why does it matter?
Because as we know for now, there is nobody else except people.
Life may occur so rarely that we are actually the first one to be au fit of the fact.

You forgot to take your pills, didn't you?
Hey, you saw this thread's title ;P
578  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: 🏆Cloudbet's Cloud 9 Predictor Competition! Free Entry + 0.47 BTC Prize pool! 🏆 on: February 12, 2019, 07:25:54 PM
I didnt get it wrong. I send message to support with proof's after first round. They ignore it and send prizes to abusers.
I dont say they didnt pay, i say this contest is not fair becouse they didnt ban abuser's.
Problem is that second post in this thread, the one with terms for this competition, says nothing about multi account joining being forbidden. Yes its not particularly nice nor especially fair but obviously allowed. Allowed not because OP is somewhat corrupt but he has had simply omitted, overlooked, failed to predict that people will get abusive. You just have to deal with it as changing the rules while in progress would be even worse.

Velasquez 4 the win
579  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are altcoins useless? on: February 12, 2019, 02:03:20 PM
Are altcoins useless?
If mining and exchanging in to bitcoins can be called useful then no, they are not useless.
Potential for pump and dump is endless, speculations are inherited, morally doubtful but beneficial.
So do we really need altcoins?
We do. Mostly because competition that they create for the main actors. Without them established coins could get this "hegemonic attitude". When market loses its competition aspects, its stops being free and as such can not represent adequate value.
Every theatre needs the stage, main role, action and background characters to project and influence changes in to preferably dynamic main role. It may be a little troubling, as people don't like changes very much but that's the true and there is no escape from this simple analogy.
580  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto After Death? on: February 12, 2019, 10:08:08 AM
When you enter the world of cryptocurrency, one of your family should know what you're doing. It may be your wife or husband. Someone whom you can trust. You should teach them for them to have knowledge in cryptos. If one day, something bad may happen to you, at least there someone knows your wallet and your investment. The key here is not to be greedy.
I'm a selfish bastard then  Grin
If I'm gone and I wont be able to spend my crypto, nobody will!
But seriously, why would anyone trust their bitcoins to a woman? You know that wife has this legal option to deprive you of your coins right? Of course if she's aware of you having some than why would you make this easier for her...
Leaving coins to kids, now that I would understand. Some cool puzzle in the basement, with clues and tips on how to find the treasure. Something fun and creative for the kid to remember and learn the path of crypto along the way. But simple peace of paper with all the instructions, that actually anyone can read seems like safety protocol breach. I think them coins have the anonymity feature for no reason, it should be used to the max.
