Inno has not updated that price tag for a long time

lol that is quite the price tag for that machine in this market w/ this diff xD

For those that have these in hand, where did you order from?
563  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: lolMiner Equihash Miner, Update: Feb 7th: lolMiner 0.7 alpha 5 on: February 15, 2019, 03:50:42 PM
Hi all, just want you to know about current status:

I am right now bringing back the other algorithms to lolMiner 0.7 so we can have a real full release soon with all algorithms on board.
Status here is that I ported already the stratum for 144/5, 192/7 and 96/5 to the new code base and got the 144/5 as well as 96/5 kernels running. Aion and Excc will be some extra work, but will also be done soon.
This will then complete 0.7 somehow, making room for further development and making a proper anniversary version (lolMiner turned one year old two days ago Cheesy)

What is currently on my sheet for next work are one or two more Beam kernel (re) works to optimize it here and there as well as up to 2 or 3 new algorithms the miner not supports yet. I bet till its all done will take 2-3 month but well.

One more thing I want to update is the configuration module. Stratum got a big rework in 0.5 and a small ones in 0.6 & 0.7, mining core in 0.7 and stats in 0.6 - now next turn is configuration. Once this is done I plan one special thing for you: Once lolMiner wents "final" I plan to do a release with slightly older kernel code but everything else up to date as open source, to give the community something back Smiley

But for instance, will take care of your questions.
Stay tuned!

-------------

I know, but this works if you want to use all AMD or NVIDIA devices, but not specific ones.

I will explain an exact use case:
I develop Forager (in my signature) and I allow creating DeviceGroups based on card types.
Different cards can have different optimal miner/algo
So if a rig has for example 2 different AMD cards and some NVIDIA (or the other way around), I don't have a way to predict which card gets which device index in lolMiner.

With most miners (almost all actually) I can either set platform (opencl platform id, example - sgminer) + device list or set nvidia/amd flag (example Claymore/Ethminer/BMiner) + devicelist

Hmm, a GPU zoo is a very special case. Why not run the miner once with an unrealistic high device id --devices 20 and then look up the id of the cards to use. The way its done now from 0.7 alpha 3 and newer it is guarantied that the cards always get the same id every run (because they are ordered by pcie-id) , so this is a one time setup.

-------------

I would like to mine Beam with this miner. May I know what are the overclock settings should I do for my RX580 8GB cards to get the most sols? Like how much core, memory, voltage and etc? Would like to know the efficient way to mine for this card for BEAM. THanks

I run my 580 at 1200 core, 875 mV core voltage and 1850 memory. I found it not worth increasing core or memory, because gain in sol/s were low. Best thing here is the undervolt, because that has almost no effect on speed but reduces the heat and consumption a lot.

-------------

I put the vega 64 back to factory mem/speed settings. Sol rate dropped by quite a bit.  It would seem the rate gets better the slower and less voltage is applied.  No advantage that I can see for a 64 at this point.

No matter what settings I try in Overdrive I can not get the Vega 64's to perform (on average) higher than what my Vega 56's are doing.  I seem to get a consistent 18-20 SOLs.   I'm on Win 10, driver 19.1.1.  Pagefile is set to 120GB to use across 9 cards.

Does this have something to do with LoLminer?

For an upcoming release, would it be possible to add stats like fan speed, temp, and watts?

Yes, when you keep stock settings its likely the card starts thermal throttling some time. Thats why undervolt even can increase speed.  Regarding speed: I saw that not the actual memory speed is the key, but memory timings seem to be. At least there was someone who claims that with optimized bios one may gain some speed. Did not do tests myself, but will next days to figure out details.

-------------

I have 16GB of RAM and a pagefilesize of 128GB.

Ok, then I got no clue ... Have you tried running 2x 3 miners per instance? So start with --devices 0,1,2 on the first run, wait a bit and then start a second with the other cards?

I created an updated video guide on mining beam

In the updated guide I walkthrough mining beam with AMD GPUs -- I am using the latest lolminer build and include my config for leafpool -- you can simply download it and swap my beam address with yours so you are mining to your own wallet in seconds. Hope it helps Cheesy

Awesome! But you mention that one can mine grin with this ... I would say: not yet Wink

I created an updated video mining guide for Beam.

This is more in-depth than my initial how to mine beam video, I illustrate how to mine beam w/ Nvidia & AMD GPUs on Linux (smOS) and Windows
I cover basic overclocking information, beam network hashrate, and the best beam mining pool in my experience.

I also include all of the needed configs to simply copy and paste in the video description, or with Windows I have configs that are downloadable -- you will simply swap my beam address with yours and be mining beam to your wallet in seconds after download. Hope this helps someone!

100MH/s ETH is possible with a bit of overclocking but the power usage is over 300W.

There is no way that anyone is making anything right now.  What will happen is lets say, DASH takes off.  By the time any mfg ramps up and produces these units it will be 6 months.  The guys with the SPx36 will dominate the dash market for at least 3-6 months.  I have 6 of these bad boys and I make 30$ a day on each minimum.  Yeah its a risk, but a calculated one for sure.

is that $30 after or before electric, either way its impressive in this sad market

571  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: $200,000 BEAM Coin Mined Daily?! What is Beam Coin & MimbleWimble Privacy Proto. on: February 11, 2019, 04:18:57 PM
Yep beam is dope.  They actually have a funding model that's enforced to support their development just like Zcash.

Grin recently complained about not having enough money.  Not looking good for Grin. Grin has a high chance of ending up in the gutter like Bitcoin Private.  Both had newb hype and pump and dumps that rekt people.

I'm a fan of Mimble wimble but I see Beam able to have the funding to continue development.  At the end of the day people will break and will not contribute their free time for free development. Nothing in life is free.  Everyone time has a cost.

yeah definitely see your point of view here, & once this epic new mw "community coin" hype wears off --- I think the grin devs will find it harder & harder to find funding.

& even then, if they're paying taxes on their salary there will probably be some people crying they are being paid too much (without factoring taxes etc) meanwhile BEAM will (likely) have ample funding, I would not be surprised to see some of the GRIN devs make their way to BEAM simply out of self-preservation.

Like you said, nothing in life is free.

Also hope this doesn't come off as "beam shill" lol I love the community approach of grin, seems more like BTC than Beam. However I am very interested to see if this type of coin can still survive/flourish in 2019. It is also not like the day where early BTC contributors could amass a ton of coin w/ their CPUs. You need a large GPU farm to get any sort of sizable GRIN holdings.

time will tell as always Huh

Nice video! As usual Smiley
But now Beam is not so profitable for NVIDIA mining. GRIN has little bit higher profitability and greater trading volumes
Anyway should check new MimbleWimble implemented coins to get best mining profit
thank you Cheesy
seems like they're bouncing back and forth, I'm very impressed with the price really both of them have been holding -- but especially grin

which ones? seems the latest two had premine scam issues?

ok.. i'm warming to you. your dog eats bugs. i can appreciate that.

she's a skilled hunter, she will stare at a bug out of her reach on the wall for hours, hunting it until she can either squish it and/or eat it lol
574  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Who ordered the AMD Radeon VII? Lets make a list of Miners / Hashrates / Coins on: February 11, 2019, 04:12:54 PM
Anyone have this card yet? And can do a little benchmark for some popular algorithms?
I do have some but its not easy to run there most of it cos miners are not able to run on this card...
Eth is good and working, but for example C29 = poor 4,3gps, C31 is not working for me...

Can you please try with JCE CN miner ?

~2700 H/s using xmrig-amd, ~2800 on xmr-stak according this reddit post: https://www.reddit.com/r/MoneroMining/comments/ap3b92/preliminary_test_results_for_radeon_vii_xmr/

That's 20% more than a Vega 64, without optimal drivers and without miners code tuned for Radeon VII.

This GPU may render dual mining interesting again. Mine one core intensive algo, another memory intensive algo.

that'd be really interesting, was depressing to watch dual mining die to ASICs
575  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Who ordered the AMD Radeon VII? Lets make a list of Miners / Hashrates / Coins on: February 11, 2019, 02:57:31 PM
My results so far.
Unable to run in hiveos, have to use win, no overclocking possible yet...
Eth 90mhs
Grin c29 4,5gps, unable to run c31
Progpow 30mhs
Xmr 1880h/s
I had just 2 hours for tests, will see more results later.

awesome thank you for sharing, would you mind grabbing screenshots w/ the miner running? I'll load them onto the first post.

Also would like to know which miners used?

so, running 2 units, getting 87 mh/s for each. So far i din't find any real tweaking options. Also, i wasn't able to install driver support for both Radeon VII and Vega on the same sytem

Very same for my 2units.
Almost 300w/gpu.
Some say it should make 100-125mhs/200w with proper undervolting, but anything I've tried to use didn't work.
Tried wattman, afterburner etc...

so your VII are pulling ~300 watts on ethash? What about the other algos?

Someone messed up at newegg last night and listed an XFX model for $599.99 ( $100 cheaper and 12 hours early too). Sadly they sold out before I could buy one.

That 90 hashrate on Eth is pretty sweet, but I think CNH is where these will probably shine the most.  Of course with mining profits rather poor in general it would be hard to buy more then just one for testing right now (for me at least).

that's kind of where I'm at, want to get one to play around with and if somehow its record breaking . . maybe splurge on another! lol all w/ dreams of breaking even within a year Huh
