Yup..because people with Millions on Gox wouldn't bother to fly or send someone to Japan to facilitate the exit of dollars to Yen and back to dollars or whatever currency they please.

People couldn't possibly want bitcoin..that would be insane  Roll Eyes

I'd like to hear a story of 1 person with over $200k stuck on Gox that can't find a way to get it off without buying and selling on bitstamp

^This

Bottom line is price going up for ALL THE WRONG REASONS. Why you mega-bulls get behind this BS I don't understand.

*edit*

i do understand because it is your bullshit

I don't try to pick on you personally.

But this point of view shows exactly why there is much more upside with bitcoin in general. Sentiment is too pessimistic. Not enough people are LONG yet for a reversal.

The trend is your friend. Dont look at fundamentals, but at technical analysis. the charts say everything.

do they show fiat is drying up? Because it is. If you don't recognize that, you are a failboat and will sink with the rest.

btw, i don't rule out an immediate/sudden ROCKET past $200. Likely will happen. What concerns me is all the fiat exiting at rapid pace.

You are complete moron if you think fiat is getting replenlished with new deposits.  Cheesy Cheesy

there are always times of high and low volume cycles. if fiat would be drying up too much, BTCUSD would not rise
volume in both, fiat and BTC will rise again massively

Hey good-looking, congrats on the redesign. The paperback version comes much handier now.

Thanks to you for the feedback!

And it's rally time again for bitcoin...

Key support and resistances for the next days are in the newsletter!
Exciting times.
585  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: will the bitcoin reach $1000 one day...? on: August 29, 2013, 06:06:09 PM
It conceivably could, and it may happen sooner than we think, once we encounter another economic crisis.

Rather than bitcoin reaching $1,000, though, the number one thing I would like to see is wider adoption.  While 2013 has done much to make more people aware of bitcoin, there are still countless others who see the price increase as a bubble with no underlying value (heck, I was one of them).  Once bitcoin becomes more and more commonly used, even those naysayers cannot deny its place.

makes a lot of sense

and you can also see it that way:
the less awareness it has, the more potential for a price rise bitcoin has

once there is mass awareness, the sentiment will be too bullish and then price may be on a plateau or even correct

= meaning technical analysis factors will LEAD the fundamental as it always has for bitcoin since we started to analyse it 3 years ago

This also means that you can subscribe at any minute, hour, day you want - not just end of month like some other services

I hope for a diversity of scales to be used via metric prefixes.

I can almost guarantee you people will not use "mBTC" in day-to-day usage. Some slang term will emerge. I vote for "bits". It's not consistent with anything, but rolls off the tongue easily. "That's twenty bits for that beer & burger, please".

Shave and a haircut? 2 bits.

Will be interesting to order bitburgers...

artificially grown bitburgers are the future. i am ready.

great meal:
artificial bitburgers + Bitburger beer (German brand)

594  Economy / Speculation / Re: The REAL bubbles on: August 26, 2013, 09:27:22 PM

good thread!

me i say 3000$ is the next target

its not hard to see bitcoin worth +1000$ +100000$ ....

Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

now we are onto something interesting..

We never discussed about a SPLIT.

Stocks are split regularly, but in BTC this does not really work. Any idea?
If there is no split, BTCUSD will be like Warren Buffet's stock. Berkshire Hathaway (BRK.A). Current price 173,220.00 $

We can just split 1 Bitcoin into 1000 bits.

yes, or prices need to be quoted in satoshis.
still, there needs to be some sort of "agreement" to be able to show prices differently in charts software, financial media, etc..
who decides on the "split"?
595  Economy / Speculation / Re: The REAL bubbles on: August 25, 2013, 10:47:53 AM
Bubbles are artificial  Wink

yes, like the stock market is pumped up by the QE from the fed.

Bitcoin is real.

Indeed.

stock market = debt based equity. Bitcoin has no debt.

That's exactly the point.
And even if all central banks have as number one priority to keep the stock market bubble alive, they can't prevent the bubble from popping big time eventually.
And it will be very nasty.

Dow jones 400 we are coming.

That's like saying 80s fuel prices are coming back. They're not.
The debt based money supply has as much to do with the stock market as it has with any other sector.

The solution is simple: Periodic remittance of loans, be it in the private sector or the financial sector.  And this is happening all the time, cyprus was just one of the more visible ones.
This is something no Libertairan Doomsday Cheerleader is willing to admit: The system actually has mechanisms which can keep it sustainable. You just can't profit from it individually.

That is your very valid opinion.

I agree to disagree with you.

The system that they have build is not sustainable and will burst dramatically in the next years.

You are talking about the wrong asset.
Bitcoin is not in a bubble.
Stocks and precious metals are.

Where did the blue go?

ran out of blue ink. Just bought some more with bitcoins :-)
