I was banned on the forum. The reasons for the ban are not clear to me. What is the reason for this?

You have broken the following rules:

Quote
32. Posting multiple posts in a row (excluding bumps and reserved posts by the thread starter) is not allowed.

While the ethertum remains the most popular platform for the functioning of smart contracts, but how long this will be continued is unknown. Still, I hope that common sense will prevail and the team of ethereum will continue to develop its platform. As for me, he should have begun his growth long ago.

And, since it is not the first time you are posting with this new account you have created, you have broken the following rule as well

You kind of deserve this ban for not reading and following the rules, so you cannot simply say:
Because of one post to ban an account?
582  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to encourage discussions in ANN thread? on: October 09, 2018, 11:22:00 AM
Sadly, this forum has become a place for people to hunt tokens and fill their pockets, and never care about the project itself. It is very rare to find a genuine user who is actually interested in the project and the concept behind it. This fact has made it very difficult for legit and good looking projects to find some good and real members for their project instead of these whole bunches of bounty hunters who would only come to your ANN thread to ask whether they are going to get paid for the campaigns very soon or not.
You will only get some activity on your ANN if you start a bounty campaign, after which, every single shitposting participant of that campaign would head towards your ANN and post something like "I wish this project is success." or "Good looking project. I wish it success.". It is not me who doesn't know how to write those sentences correctly, but it is them who write like that, and I was just copying that.
583  Other / Meta / Re: As the spammers seem to of started to find meta... on: October 09, 2018, 11:01:47 AM
Restrict accounts below Member rank from posting in Meta. Someone with a Copper Membership can post as well since there can be people getting banned or hacked who would want to open a thread in Meta to get their problems resolved.
Accounts that are banned mostly don't deserve any consideration since they are rule breakers, and users that get hacked should be able to pay $10 or so for a Copper Membership if they really think their account is precious for them. So I don't think it would be a lot to ask for people in both of these situations.
584  Other / Meta / Re: Merit Distribution like Wealth Distribution. Inequality? on: October 09, 2018, 10:51:03 AM
It could be called this aptitude test if all posters got reset to lower ranks and had to earn merit to advance. Since higher ranks got a lot of merit for nothing, same as old, abandoned accounts, that were later traded and used as merit donors, the system is not perfect. At least it does not act as an equal test for all members.

Since the rank requires activity points along with Merits (now), and activity points are earned by posting, then resetting every single member of the forum to lower ranks would have meant to delete all the posts they have made until now which is the only way to reset their activity points, and doing that would have cleaned the complete forum and there would have been no posts in any section of the forum after the new system which would make no sense at all.

Besides, not all the higher rank members are undeserving, and they all earned their positions by being active on the forum for so many years since it only required activity to rank up before the Merit system. But still, what I said earlier is the reason why theymos could not reset all the ranks and demote every single user of the forum. It would then be a reset for the forum itself which wouldn't be a good thing for any of us.
585  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do not be this type of Bitcoiner on: October 09, 2018, 09:23:34 AM
I wonder what such people would do after when they exit fiat but doesn't get a lot of places to spend their Bitcoin and would eventually require to use fiat again at the end. It is not like we don't like Bitcoin, but it is not really a necessity for the traditional financial systems to collapse in order for Bitcoin to make a place for itself. The technology is commendable, no doubt, but it still has some things that are not suitable for some uses of fiat.
586  Other / Meta / Re: Is it possible to reach a high rank nowadays? on: October 08, 2018, 12:17:57 PM
After signing up to this forum only today i have a few comments to make regarding the ranking system.

Never bothered to make an account since you could read everything without having one, and as soon as you make one, you start asking about the ranking system. I wonder what that makes you look like.  Roll Eyes

is it possible for people to rank up on here still?

Look for yourself. You can find some examples of ranked up users even in this thread of yours.

To gain enough merit without being a well known or already established user of the forum would take such a considerable effort that any user would also need a stroke a pure luck to even reach member rank now.

A user making considerable efforts does not require any luck to reach any rank, and the ones making zero to no efforts would reach nowhere no matter how lucky they are since this is a manual distribution system and isn't a kind of a lottery where a user can get any amount out of luck.

The chances of being merited even a few times are very small let alone gaining hundreds of merits.

That totally depends on an individual and the efforts they are making for the community. There are users who had earned more Merits to rank up to higher ranks then they are right now. LoyceV and DdmrDdmr are the brightest examples of that.

If you are already of a high ranked position then most likely you like the recent stricter rules as you don't need to jump through the hoops yourself to claim merit and be able to rank up anymore

I'm not of a very high ranked position, but I still like the recent rules as they are for the betterment of the forum. As far as the rank is concerned, I believe I can reach the rank I deserve to and there is nothing that can stop me if I have the ability to reach there.

Hopefully there will be some loosening of these rules or an entirely new system implemented sometime in the near future so new users are able to participate in all that this great forum has to offer.

Why should the rules be loosened for the new users to be able to participate in things in here? No rules are stopping anyone from that. The rules or the new implementations are only to stop the useless posters and the ones who has done nothing for the community but are always looking to benefit from it without making any efforts, and there is no need to loosen the rules for them.
587  Other / Meta / Re: My Full Member account has been disallowed from posting on the forum on: October 08, 2018, 11:28:49 AM
none of the mods have told me anything how long the ban period is or if there is any likelihood of it being lifted. Only Rapid123 mentioned its a permaban, mods are quiet.

A description of a ban containing no time frame for that ban is a permaban. It is very simple. Since you say your profile does not show any time frame for the ban, then your account will not get unbanned any time in future.

You guys should simply read and follow the rules instead of whining later for getting punished for breaking them. You cannot ask for a second chance if you have deliberately not read the rules and continued doing everything you wanted. A person only deserves a second chance if he does something that he has never heard of being against the rules of that place, and I'm pretty sure you have heard about the rules in this long journey yours in this forum but you were just too lazy to read and follow them.
588  Other / Meta / Re: Large list of bot accounts on: October 08, 2018, 11:15:33 AM
I don't think these are bots since bots are usually used to post nonsensical off-topic replies in multiple threads around the forum in order to increase the activity points of an account which could later be used to participate in bounties. Though you are right that all these accounts are connected with each other. It is either an individual or a group of people creating multiple accounts to join the same bounties and their reports are completely in the same format.

Examples from a few of the accounts mentioned:

589  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Must-Have Websites for Beginners on: October 07, 2018, 04:36:15 PM
take note that this is a Beginners & Help subforum under the Bitcoin Forum section. This might not be the right subforum for ICO and ETH related sites.

Since there is no subforum available for beginners in Altcoin section, this seems to be the right place for them as well. As long as there isn't a sub-board with the name "Beginners & Help (Altcoins)", such threads/topics has to be placed in this board.

591  Other / Meta / Re: Lauda Not Anymore in DT now | How does DT work? on: October 07, 2018, 03:29:58 PM
Well, I'm pretty sure that the ones reading this thread, who had any of their alts tagged by Lauda, must have started searching the databases of their forum accounts to find those accounts and bring them back to live since now their negative tags are removed.  Grin Unless their accounts had got tagged by someone else too.

592  Economy / Reputation / Re: Is this merit begging? on: October 06, 2018, 03:35:56 PM
the user GmBoom also will get negged soon.

If there is anyone to blame in this case then it is FreeAirdrops who has given him a Merit for a post which doesn't deserve to get any Merits, but, since it is not plainly begging for Merits, you cannot blame OP for that. Someone, who is handing out Merits to a person who is confessing himself that he is a bounty spammer but also saying that they have been making efforts to get Merits, should at least check their post history to make sure if they are right or it is just what they think. That guy has said that he has been trying to make good posts, but while checking his post history, the only noticeable thing I could find was this thread where he copied and pasted some stuff from other sources and compiled them as a thread and posted it, which is not what I call "a good post" as there is no effort made by him in that. If you are Meriting a person who has made little to no efforts in improving himself, then no matter how he is, you are responsible for providing him another chance to continue doing the bad things he had been involved in and was demoted from his rank for good.
593  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New York time with this forum time [CONFUSION ] on: October 06, 2018, 03:05:42 PM
Either do this:

Click "PROFILE" tab" at the top > Choose "Look and Layout Preferences" from the left menu (Modify Profile) > Go to "Time Offset:" (3rd from the top) > Change 0 to -4 > Click "Change profile" button from the bottom right corner.

Or, change your mobile's/computer's timezone to New York's, and have a check on the time from there and you should be good.
594  Other / Meta / Re: Need autoban ban for malicious/phishing links. on: October 06, 2018, 02:47:53 PM
I think this statement of theymos indicates that the links that are 100% phishing are filtered and removed upon posting:

It's already wordfiltered, just in a different way than sites that are 100% clear phishing.

So there is a filter for phishing sites but, as it seems, it requires manual adding and there are some sites that are not yet added into it, like the one you have mentioned, and that is the reason why it is not being removed when you are posting it. Otherwise, if a site that is included in the list, it is removed and replaced with "[phishing]".

Correct me if I'm wrong. Anyone.
595  Other / Meta / Re: Copper member statistics on: October 06, 2018, 12:38:24 PM
I bet those who invest some in the copper status, are less likely to shitpost too..

That's not always true, and this is an example of that. The increment in Copper Memberships is not always as positive as people think it is. Right after the new changes, people started buying Copper Membership in order to wear signatures and participate in Bounty Campaigns which only accepts Jr. members or above and they could not earn Merits to reach the required ranks. Such people would definitely shitpost after buying Copper Membership since they invest their money in order to earn some more and for which they require to shitpost because if they could be constructive, they wouldn't need to buy Copper Membership for this purpose only.

That's not what everyone do though, but that also happens, quite often these days.
596  Other / Meta / Re: @Theymos should consider guidelines for bounty managers. (Here is draft) on: October 05, 2018, 03:00:22 PM
Best option for me if required Bitcoin for bounty campaign. ERC-20 is useless until it listed on reputed exchange. Since this is Bitcoin forum so forum could require Bitcoin for bounty award.

We have a child board in Marketplace called "Services"  which is where any bounty, campaign or service paying in Bitcoins is posted. Those bounties pay in ERC-20 tokens because they are all Alternative Coins, and they have been given a completely different section for their services and stuff. So, this forum, being a Bitcoin forum, also has a place for other alternative coins out there, so it is not possible to not allow someone to pay his workers with any other cryptocurrency than Bitcoin, unless you are proposing to remove the complete Altcoin section from the forum which is also not possible.
597  Economy / Reputation / Re: Confession - Zapo=aTriz. on: October 05, 2018, 12:02:19 PM
This is absolutely surprising, and somehow disappointing too.  Shocked
I was actually quite glad to have a manager like him who was punctual on payments, and very selective about the participants of the campaigns he is managing to avoid hiring spammers or shitposters, and then today, when I come online and open the campaign thread to check if the payments are sent out yet or not, I see his account in red, and upon following the reference I end up in this thread where I find out he is the alt of a person who was involved (intentionally or unintentionally, since I was not around in that period and have no much knowledge about the case/cases) in shady activities that cost people their money and him his reputation.

Though I'm no one to make any judgement since the case he was involved in is still unclear to me, but I really like the way he has been working recently. If he was a genuine scammer, he would definitely have stolen the escrow funds for these campaigns and disappear without anyone having any access to him. I think he should be given a chance to prove himself.
598  Other / Meta / Re: removing sig.campaign? on: October 04, 2018, 10:49:20 AM
Signature campaigns won't be a problem as long as they are hiring only constructive posters of the forum. Having a criteria for everyone to have earned Merits to be considered to be a part of a campaign can solve this problem pretty easily. The ones who can't earn Merits are probably shitposters and don't deserve to be in one, and the ones who meet that criteria won't make any problems for the forum. A campaign manager is responsible if the members of that campaign are turning into spammers and are giving a hard time to mods and other members. Removing such managers would be a better solution which won't affect the forum but would automatically close the campaigns that are paying users for the crap they are throwing out everywhere in the forum.
599  Other / Meta / Re: Im banned please help me :/ on: October 04, 2018, 10:37:15 AM
I'm not sure if users who abuse Merit system are being banned or not since it is not an official rule not to trade Merits, but you have definitely done that with your friend the_doctor.

How on earth does a post like this, which has been copied and spinned from this article, deserve to get 10 Merits? It is a clear-cut case of abuse where you returned the favor by Meriting this post of him using the 5 sMerits which you actually got from the Merits you got from him.

I'm also not sure if your account got banned because of that particular post since you have at least mentioned that you have copied it from a source you said "Daily Morning" in the post, but you must have done it somewhere else as well without giving any reference to the original source.
However, seeing your behavior in the forum, I believe you deserved the ban.
600  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Tutorial on how to install metamask on mobile phone(english version) on: October 04, 2018, 10:06:15 AM
I would recommend downloading Firefox uploaded by the official developers in the App store of your mobile instead of downloading it from a third-party website to avoid your details/accounts getting compromised. It is not very difficult to edit a software and integrate a Keylogger into it and then upload it to a third-party server and provide the link to people to download and use it. Such practices usually steal information from people costing them money or accounts in general.

I'm not blaming OP since I know what he did here is only to help others and he may have no relation with the link he provided, but I just wanted to let the ones who don't know about such things be careful when they are following something like this any time, whether in mobile or computers.

@OP, I've given you a Merit for at least doing some work taking snaps and all which consumes some time and that is always a good thing if someone spends time for only helping others.
