61  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Here's where I spew my accusations against MPOE. All are welcome. on: February 02, 2014, 03:23:38 AM
Fact. The owner of MPEX has attempted to sell NSFW photos of herself.

Where can I get these / how much?

Most (all?) of the porn is gone from the MPEX domain.

There's still this thread, but it hasn't been bumped in a while.

62  Other / Meta / Re: Activity & new membergroup limits on: January 31, 2014, 06:17:21 PM
What are the time limits on posting and the levels??
I know 360 seconds are for new people like me, but was wondering if there was break down somewhere on this.

Code:
waittime = 360;
if(activity >= 15)
        waittime = (int)(90 - activity);
if(activity >= 60)
        waittime=(int)(34.7586 - (0.0793103 * activity));
if(activity >= 100)
        waittime = max((int)(14-(activity/50)), 4);
Its really irritating when you are indulged in some interesting topic and you have to wait for 360 secs mean while the whole conversation turns upside down..! haha .. anyways i can understand it because there are so many members out there to exploit the system..
It's a forum, not an IRC room. 6 minutes being too long to wait is indicative of a problem.

I wonder if they changed it to avoid being sued by Rubiks? Tongue
That was the first logo; the second seemed fine.

Assuming Deb isn't a made-up persona, I believe she has access to the money as well.

[...]I will just transfer it to the candidate with highest activity.

You couldn't just open-source it?

I don't feel too comfortable doing that. A little concerned about the potential for abuse, even if limited. That's why I'd rather transfer it to a trusted user.

Abuse?

If Bitcoin can't stand up to this program I'd really rather you let her loose now, before I waste further time  Cheesy

Not that kind of abuse... Rather something along the lines of repackaging the app and potentially abusing new gullible users.

They'd do better repackaging Bitcoin-Qt than a screensaver.

...  Variance is the only way the player can ever win.  Without it, he doesn't even bother playing. ...

I'd like to test this.  I bet that if you created a game that has a fixed guaranteed return of -1% that people would still play.  For every bitcoin wagered 0.99 bitcoins is returned.

How about it Dooglus.  Can you create a site that is not only provably fair but deterministic.  In that you know exactly your return before you wager.

Gambling is an activity that is against the gamblers own financial interest.  Would that tendency to gamble away money work if there was no way to win.  I guess it wouldn't be gambling then.

Try it see what happens.

I bet you'd see a few novelty bets and then silence.

Blockchain.info has now a new logo

That's #3, right?

Can it get a new cookie system for currencies now?

69  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: NoBrainr - a secure and transparent cold address generator in 1024 bytes on: January 26, 2014, 09:50:59 PM
Is there an estimate how many people used NoBrainr so far and whether they have used it for large high-roller cold wallets?
If so, when did NoBrainr come out?

flatfly might be able to give you a downloads total, but no cold wallet generated by NoBrainr can be identified as such.

I'd sell my spot for half that, if Seal let people sell spots.
72  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [ANNOUNCE] Bitmessage - P2P Messaging system based partially on Bitcoin on: January 23, 2014, 05:22:07 PM
You are able to encrypt the files separately, using a Truecrypt container or similar mountable encrypted filesystem.
Yup.... but things should be easier.
I'm not disputing that. It's a temporary workaround.

BTW: A "reply to channel" feature would be nice.
There was a pull request for something like that, but it never went anywhere.

Oh, seems that issue of bitmessage not starting the window was due to the working directory path.
C:\\Documents\\Username\AppData\pyBitmessage

My username contained russian letters.
I have changed that to latin and now it works!

We were working on something like this before. IIRC, the problem might be in the SQL library.

Where is the PyBitmessage directory?

JD was running by dooglus now doge dice is also under his control if yes then amazing work done by doogi

Doge-Dice.com is just a clone of Just-Dice.com I made for fun... and now it's the 2nd richest site in the dogeverse!

Dogecoin won a Wikipedia articles-for-deletion debate. Is this for real now?
77  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Just-Dice.com : Invest in 1% House Edge Dice Game on: January 15, 2014, 12:32:12 AM
I just gave three scenarios in which it might be useful.

[...] there are a couple scenarios in which a higher "leverage" on Just-Dice is advantageous over a higher investment amount. There are more, but three spring to mind:

  • A lack of perfect trust in dooglus, dooglus' computer skills, etc
  • A lack of bitcoins
  • Having taken out a loan to invest in Just-Dice (not that I condone this one)

We must be talking about two different things then. I am referring specifically to individual investors being able to change from the default 0.5% max profit, not leverage.

Alright, alright. I give up. I apologize for using a slightly incorrect word, in scare quotes, to describe the topic at hand. I had no idea it would cause this much confusion, and I certainly never thought someone would reply to a post with less than 200 words without actually reading the whole thing.

If you ever need support with Just-Dice or Doge-Dice, please email the address in the FAQ:

rather than PM'ing me threats on the forum (because I don't check the forum very much any more):

Thanks!  Smiley

If he actually makes that thread, post a link here if you need a testimony.
79  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Just-Dice.com : Invest in 1% House Edge Dice Game on: January 14, 2014, 03:21:54 AM
I don't really see the benefit in creating an investor risk adjustment option. The site already has a fairly large bankroll, do we really need to accommodate larger bets? Why create a confusing and hard to implement (from my understanding) system that isn't really needed?

I just gave three scenarios in which it might be useful.

Upon rereading I think maybe what you are suggesting by "leverage" would be raising your individual kelly percent above 1%. In other words, saying you're willing to bet bigger than the optimal amount  (because you like to gamble with a positive edge). I can sorta see some validity to that.

That is correct and the reason for the scare quotes.
80  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Just-Dice.com : Play or Invest : 1% House Edge : Banter++ on: January 13, 2014, 03:23:26 AM
I got KLYE's email, and found that the address the troll had given was a Just-Dice deposit address, and the Bitcoin transaction hadn't yet confirmed.  So I stopped it from crediting the troll's account.

We should call you Fast Doogy or something. In 10 years I hope a movie is made in which people race against confirmations for some reason or another.
