62  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Feathercoin [FTC] - time proven, fast, secure and unique POW coin on: June 12, 2017, 02:15:51 PM
Thanks to whoever dumped their bags and filled my buy order. Smiley

There are tons of coins in the #50-100 position on Coinmarketcap with no actual developer, no website, no updates.
Taking a small gamble on FTC is a really good position IMO.
I'm reading the forums and its good to know people still care about this coin.
This could still 2x by the time block reward halves.

This.

Agreed. Of all the total garbage coins out there that were created for no other purpose other than to scam others and make the dev rich... why are they valued higher than a coin like Feathercoin? I will admit, FTC has had a rough life but even with all the negativity its still here. Active, hashing away just like it was designed to.

Hi
Please, help me understand, does hashrate of miner for Litecoin will be the same for Feathercoin? Hashing algorightm is the same one scrypt. Should i assume that hashrate will be the same one? Thx)

It used to be the same as Litecoin (Scrypt) but is now NeoScrypt which hashes different.

Ive not had a single issue with Bittrex.... so far.
65  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [FTC] Feathercoin Development Overview on: June 07, 2017, 02:13:52 PM
Dev should create a Cryptopia launch forum.  It'll bring up the rating from 3.5 stars on Coin Info.

-Cryptopia Mod

Just looked up the rating system at Cryptopia. It lists FTC as not having a web/paper wallet.

First, why are these categorized together as they are totally different? Second, there is no web wallet but there is a paper wallet, one can be seen here: https://forum.feathercoin.com/topic/7794/ftc-paper-wallet
66  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] The First Litecoin PPS Pool (litecoinpool.org) on: June 07, 2017, 02:02:03 PM
hi

i just purchase a few set of gridseed 5 chips usb miners to mine litecoin.

but i only got about 10 kh/s for each miner when i setup bfgminer to mine.

any idea why i can only get so low speed ?

i use litecoinpool.org

tks
 Undecided

Not much info there.  What's the clock speed set to?

I'm using dmaxl's cgminer on the 80 chip version and seeing 5,317 kH/s by litecoinpool's reckoning.  You have 1/16 as many chips so I'm guessing you should see about 332 kH/s.

If you're using cgminer try adding the line
"gridseed-options": "freq=800"
to your cgminer.conf and restarting.  Ooops, just saw the bfgminer in your post  I used that briefly, don't know how to set the speed.  It's probably similar since one is a fork of the other.  Are you seeing any hardware errors"  I see HW:0.

Oh, those things are USB powered, right?  You're going to have similar power issues to stickminers, need to use a hub that can supply a fair bit of current to each USB jack.  A symptom is that one miner runs well but when you plug in several they slow down.  A good hub from the Gekkoscience threads is https://www.amazon.com/Superbpag-Portable-Charger-Transfer-Samsung/dp/B013OK10YM  It might be overkill for Gridseeds but it eliminates one worry.

Oh, and even with 80 chips I make about $0.20 per day so don't expect to get rich.

good info. let me try to use cgminer instead.

80chips only can get about 0.2 per day... looks like mining litecoin isnt very profitable.

It is profitable, you're just using very old, inefficient hardware to mine.
67  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Feathercoin [FTC] - time proven, fast, secure and unique POW coin on: June 05, 2017, 01:58:31 PM
Anybody know a guesstimate of what day exactly the feathercoin halving will occur? The price should rapidly increase going into that event.

First week of july

By my count, July 8 should be the halving.
68  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Unbelievable hashrates! on: May 30, 2017, 03:13:52 PM
Has he invested shitloads of money into GPU-rigs? Smiley

Yes. Most likely.
69  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Feathercoin [FTC] - time proven, fast, secure and unique POW coin on: May 23, 2017, 05:07:15 PM
Is there any information when halving ftc will happen ?

Should be July 7 2017
70  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: New scrypt mining rigs - difficulty rise ? on: May 16, 2017, 08:58:02 PM
you don't buy a minign rig for scrypt you buy an asic, but they are not available, check the buy group for the L3, will be shipped later this summer, and before they ship that the diff will be too high for any good profit, better to focus on gpu they have better resale value and better profit

Im not sure Id be buying ASICs right now, but to each their own.

With the release of the A3 and L3 miners the difficulty has gone way up and continues to raise daily. The miners listed here, if they are not scams, will add to that difficulty as well as BW.com releasing a new miner (not for public sale) "soon". I can see us pushing the diff up to half a million by 2018.

what is the A3 for scrypt or something else? the L3 should be the most powerful never heard of the A3

Err, A4, my bad. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1251930.0

72  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Please run a full node on: May 11, 2017, 02:28:38 PM
I run a full node, multiple actually. My reasoning for this is I am not a programmer I also do not own a business that I can accept Bitcoin at. The only way I can do my part in this community is to buy/spend Bitcoin, which I do, try to explain the benifits of using Bitcoin, which I do, and run a full node. I also dont currently mine Bitcoin and havent for quite awhile. Running a full node really doesnt cost that much if you have the hardware laying around. I was given a few old dell desktops with Core2Duo CPUs. I upgraded the hard drives to 1TB for cheap and taa-daa!

If this is all I am able to do to help out, even if its only a small help, Im ok with the tiny cost of doing so.

I see the headlines now: Bald-headed Dude AGAIN Meets Tutu-donning Toothless Fuck - Film at 11

Just for the people wondering WTF they're talking about (and maybe a nostalgic chuckle here and there):

That only made it worse... WTF?!?!?

Don't start passing judgement. Bruno was supporting a very worthy cause and I applaud him for it. It takes a very secure man to wear a tutu in public to support a disease afflicting only women. The ultimate sacrifice is to give of yourself to support a cause that doesn't effect you at all just because it's the right thing to do. Very few people are willing to do that.

Fair enough. I missed who this actually was. I thought it was one of the BFL guys or something.

I have no qualms with anybody making fun of me. It's all good. Thanks, QA, for coming up to bat for me nonetheless.

I simply misunderstood the context.

Ok, that explains Sonny sitting around long enough to take it up the ass but what about the rest of them? Do they all have bad backs?  Does Sonny have all the money and the rest of them are too broke to run?

Meanwhile, I'm in my third year of having a restraining order on my scammy ass because Josh Zerlan feared for his children's lives, children that he's on record in stating that he didn't have.

Wait, BFL royally screwed over thousands of people and stole millions of dollars in potential earnings and you, a customer, got a restraining order from Josh?? Wow... whats wrong with this picture?

I never ordered from them, came close but decided against it. (luckily) I think laughed when they fell apart although I never cared enough to follow the story. Is there a short version? I dont feel like reading though all these pages...

77  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: wait for vega or build a RX470/480 rig now? on: May 01, 2017, 07:06:33 PM
When is vega's release date?  Will rx470/480 become obsolete for gpu mining when vega comes out? Should i wait ?

I doubt anyone can tell you for sure. It all depends on how well the new card mines. Even the old 7950's can still be profitable depending on the coin and electric cost.
78  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Antminer L3 - 250mh - 400watt Scrypt miner coming soon on: April 28, 2017, 04:56:42 PM
Difficulty was near horizontal for what? 2 years? I guess we will be making up for it now...

I'll keep mining as long as I can, I have average priced power so I wont be the first to turn off but I wont be far down the line. :/

Why, because you  have just bought coins  Grin ?

Be patient

Hah, yeah 4 years is patient i think. watched them rise and fall and rise and fall.
Just excited there is volume hitting us again.

Same here, Ive held coins for awhile and over the last couple years I started buying more on the lows. Feathercoin is one of the oldest still active coins. Its had its share of ups and downs. Its not going to rise up over night, it will continue steadily grinding along in he background until its day is here. Its like that old UNIX mainfame sitting in the back room of the office building. Its been there for years, its neglected and abused. No one even remembers it being there or even realizes that its running - but it is. Still running, still spiting out numbers and doing everything its been asked to do.... for years and years.
