61  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does anyone have a point of view on Litecoin Cash? on: October 16, 2018, 08:36:36 PM
Is Litecoin Cash (LCC) really that different? Is anyone familiar with the true differences with Litecoin, notably as it pertains to speed and cost per that article?

The original litecoin is a scrypt based mining algo coin, LCC Litecoin Cash was forked and uses Sha-256, which is the same algo Bitcoin uses.

The hopes for the developers forking litecoin cash is that they would soak up alot of hashrate from older generation asics that are not used anymore on bitcoin because it's not profitable.

I remember when LCC first launched people were testing model s5-s8 on LCC, its fork is similar to bitcoin gold in that its a fork that was initiated in hopes to fill a void in the mining space.

I haven't kept up with whats going on with litecoin cash but I would imagine there is literally millions of dollars out there in un-claimed Litecoin cash among Litecoin holders. Same with bitcoin.
62  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ZEC] ZCASH - All coins are created equal. Discussion Thread (Unofficial) on: October 15, 2018, 04:23:24 PM
Things are still looking bright for Zcash although I don't think the sapling release will really bring any kind of upside to the price, market is still extremely bearish, especially in the alts.

The biggest thing to take away here is that Zcash has many attributes that lead me to think its a prime candidate to be accumulating at these levels. Here are some of my thoughts and why i have been accumulating over the past months:

1. Gemini NYC approval for listing and custody, perfect exposure to institutional investors

2. Perfect blend of privacy and transparency, a user can either be public or private with their funds, nothing against Monero but a 100% private coin will never be seen as "Ok" in big brothers eyes.

3. zk-Snarks tech, been adopted by sooo many other coins because they realize the benefits of it

4. Pending coinbase addition, I believe it will be added to the $25 dollar minimum bundle purchase meaning anyone will be able to buy it with credit card.

5. In my opinion it's the BEST implementation of the zerocoin protocol, founder block rewards keep tech advancing and development rolling (devs dont work for free), backed by legitimate company and early devs of zerocoin protocol implemented Zcash in line with it.

6. Embracing Asics leads to enterprise level mining which yields a much stronger network.

Now I know alot of people would debate me on several points but market cap shows Zcash stands alone still as the highest market cap coin with zerocoin protocol and one of the top tier privacy coins.
63  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2018 Cryptocurrency Crash (Elliott Wave) on: October 15, 2018, 03:28:50 PM
Curious what OP thinks about how bitcoin seems to be correlated to the recent dip in the stock market?

Also it seems 6k is an extremely strong floor, probably alot harder to be broken than op thought maybe? What if an ETF passes in the winter? How could this affect this current wave hypothesis?
64  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Kucoin adds two stablecoins today on: October 15, 2018, 03:18:58 PM
The drama of Tether is definitely creating chaos everywhere (and it's sort of making way for new stablecoins with better transparency). Kucoin just listed USDC and TUSD (two new stablecoins):

USDC: https://news.kucoin.com/en/kucoin-will-add-usd-coin-usdc-market/

TUSD: https://news.kucoin.com/en/kucoin-will-add-trueusd-tusd-market/

Its good news, I think that more stable coins will bring a more stability in the crypto currency ecosystem. Think about december 2017 when we really only had 1 stablecoin....Tether.

Think about how much FUD was around tether, I believe that back then it was the single most systemic risk to crypto, if it would have imploded it would have affected so many exchanges across several jurisdictions.

So with all these new stable coins out there and being added to many exchanges it really mitigates that risk.
65  Economy / Economics / Re: Today is 10/10/18, the rise of the Phoenix according to The Economist on: October 12, 2018, 06:58:05 PM
When I made the threads I still didn't see the news of the big drop on wall street. Bitcoin dropped $400 bucks too, however that's not relevant enough since we've seen these red candles for months.

The most remarkable news got to be the drop on the stock markets, other than that nothing out of the ordinary happened that I can tell. Perhaps we will see the importance of this drop in the long term and the 10th may reveal itself as the start of something big in the future.

On a side note looks like Zerohedge finally fixed their comment section, it used to crash my browser, total crap design on that website.

I don't really like it either, although they will post some pro crypto articles from time-to-time.

Whats hilarious is this comment section on some of the crypto articles though, its literally like 2 huge crypto supporters fighting and debating with 10 pro gold/silver investors, some of them rip so hard on bitcoin its comical.
66  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Cryptocurrencies prices decline again, what much do we expect? on: October 11, 2018, 05:38:32 PM
Consensus seems to be that this recent plunge has to do with the corresponding decline in world markets.

Pretty depressing since crypto-currencies are supposed to be a haven for investors during declines in traditional markets, now the seem to be correlated.

But whatever, crypto has been in a cave last 7 months anyway, volumes are dry.
67  Economy / Economics / Re: Today is 10/10/18, the rise of the Phoenix according to The Economist on: October 11, 2018, 05:36:03 PM
As the stock markets make record losses since yesterday, post on zero hedge are still "remembering" this magazine:

https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2018-10-11/bmo-expect-more-downside

Check the first comment, people don't forget, this picture and magazine are obviously a hotbed for speculation and conspiracy theory.

Sad thing about it is....bitcoin crashed alongside the world markets.
68  Economy / Economics / Re: Today is 10/10/18, the rise of the Phoenix according to The Economist on: October 10, 2018, 02:49:44 PM
This is great, I love a good conspiracy!

I have seen this magazine posted before but I never noticed the 10/10 date on the phoenix's neck. I do believe that things from the past in a sense dictate and predict the future, but on the other hand I don't think some global cabal has complete control over the world.

I have been looking around for news and things that have come out today that could maybe be significant and I think this report by the IMF is the most prominent thing.

https://www.imf.org/en/Publications/WEO/Issues/2018/09/24/world-economic-outlook-october-2018

This report is also linked and talked about in the following article:

https://www.express.co.uk/finance/city/1029311/Bitcoin-price-news-cryptocurrency-price-rise-blockchain-international-monetary-fund

Express seems to be an entertainment based conservative news outlet based in the UK, maybe someone could correct me if I am wrong? I don't live in UK.

69  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: the right time to trade, or wait until the market returns to normal? on: October 10, 2018, 01:49:52 PM
for now the market price is very difficult for me to predict, because it is difficult for me to be able to analyze prices, and lately it is difficult for me to get a profit, exactly what I get is defeat, what is your solution to be able to deal with the market price situation which is very difficult for me to predict, can a trader who is proficient in trading can share his experience in trading for me?

You can't force trades when the conditions are not right, there is very little volatility right now so prices are just not moving much.

https://www.coindesk.com/another-measure-of-bitcoin-price-volatility-hits-15-month-low/

It kind of depends on what you are trying to trade, if you are looking to trade the big cap coins then there really isnt any moves to make, prices are going sideways.

On the other hand if you are looking to trade altcoins thats a different story, many altcoins in the past few months have had 50-100% increases. The most obvious one is ripple, they had solid news and development backing that up though.

The other coins like....say....Mona, Rubycoin, Spreadcoin ect ect....these are small cap coins and there doesnt seem to be any real reason why they pump. Its really difficult to catch these moves vs. the one move with ripple.

So stay up to date with current news and trends, research higher market cap altcoins and look for upcoming events that could effect price, lastly set tight stop losses to minimize your losses. Start getting accustomed to tradingview and charting

tradingview.com

Me personally I am accumulating certain alts at their (or close to) all time lows looking to hold long and sell much later for big gains.

Good luck
70  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Daily trade Vs long trade on: October 09, 2018, 07:21:27 PM
I am a newbie of trading so i don't have proper knowledge about trading. But honestly i want to be a trader. But first time which trading is best for me daily or long term?
Thanks in advance.

Day trading in crypto is extremely hard and risky, most of the time you will make trades when you shouldn't.

Best advice is to hold long term coins you think will do well but have bitcoin or a stablecoin ready for when a coin dumps and you can make a quick swing trade.

History shows that long term holders make the best returns, only exception is if you are a master trader or have some kind of godly bot that crushes certain markets.
71  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will bitcoin get to $10,000 this year again? on: October 09, 2018, 07:17:17 PM
For the past three weeks bitcoin remain a little bit above $6,500  and there is no effort to push above $7,000. I believe that the next breakout may create another market directions that should push bitcoin above $10,000 if the breakout is bullish or dump it to $5500 area.  I will like to know your view if bitcoin will get to $10,000 this year again.

It just doesn't seem like a a breakout to the upside is more likely than a breakout to the downside, there has been so much positive news coming out in the past few months that literally does nothing to the price, it just keeps going sideways.

In the article below you can see the good news the hedge fund manager list out that has done nothing to the price, there is just little to no speculative volume that the price of bitcoin will go up in the short term.

http://www.thecoinrepublic.com/hedge-fund-mgr-says-bitcoin-will-see-10000-raise-in-its-value-this-year/

On the contrary, and I hate to say it, but there seem to be people drooling at the opportunity to short bitcoin at the moments notice of any kind of bad news.

If we get any kind of bad news for ETFs or some popular big wig executive to state publicly that bitcoin is bad I would look to see the recent spike to 6600 be whipped away very fast.
72  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: You can start with NOTHING and still come out with SOMETHING on: October 08, 2018, 06:00:44 PM
Faucets, airdrops, bounties, referrals & poker freerolls are all easy ways to make some crypto for free. If one was motivated enough they could get well verse in a discipline like social media management or web design to then offer up their services to projects for crypto.

It's easy to continue to make passive income with crypto if you just get accustomed to how it works and grind it out on a daily basis.

Everyone should check out nitrogen sports and play the poker freerolls, (free entries) even if you are not good at poker. Its free and you can win bitcoin.
73  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can anyone tell me about Trading platforms? on: October 08, 2018, 05:54:31 PM
You should check out tradingview and coinigy, both are trading platforms where you can look at the best most advanced charts and also link your exchange accounts to their API so you can make trades through the platforms. They are both very useful if you have multiple accounts and make a lot of trades.

https://www.tradingview.com/

Coinigy cost but its free on tradingview to just look at charts. Good luck
74  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptoworld is all encompassing on: October 07, 2018, 11:38:46 AM
Despite having my own field of specialization, cryptocurrency and blockchain technology has really helped me to have idea about other fields.

Crypto has helped me learn things about traditional finance and economics that I never would have learned on my own. Crypto also helped me learn alot about trading and chart analysis, ect.

It really depends on how far one would want to go though, I could imagine someone could come into crypto, get inspired and turn into a full stack developer if they wanted to. But there is a big divide between people that are in crypto to make money on speculating and people who actually work in the industry.

Hopefully by this divde getting smaller in coming years crypto will find more mainstream adoption.
75  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 6 Crypto Projects with the largest developer communities on: October 05, 2018, 03:36:58 PM
Just found a small interesting article, which lists the coins with the largest amount of developers working on their projects.
Not surprisingly, Ethereum came out on top, with over 1000 developers contributing code the the project.

One interesting coin on that list is definitely LBRY, which has 334 developers and 19 of them were actively contributing to the code (active developers last week).
I say interesting, because the coin barely has any volume or marketcap.

Source: https://bitcoinexchangeguide.com/how-to-judge-a-blockchain-project-by-code-contributors-top-6-crypto-developer-communities/

Yup been a sulking LBRY bagholder for years now, it came out in 2016 and has a slowly decreasing block reward but a huge premine held transparently by the dev team, its a VC backed registered company in USA. They have a working downloadable client where you can pretty much download and stream any kind of content via a native protocol very similar to IPFS.

Last time I looked it was at like 800sats or something? But it has made all time highs at around 35k satoshi so its definitely at it's floor....not to shill you the coin or anything.

But from your comment I think its important to note that in the LBRY example developement and code contribution doesnt always calibrate with the price or volume on the project.

76  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investing in Shitcoin on: October 05, 2018, 03:07:20 PM
Hello friends,
I am thinking of investing in PRiVCY for a while. Right now, the price is quite low and I think it may hit at least $0.10 in a bullrun. For your info, PRiVCY is a cpoycat of DeepOnion. Investing in such coin is really risky. Is it worth investing? I what to your input.

Disclaimer: This is a self-moderated topic. Don't shill here, I will not tolerate. Therefore, I will delete and report.

Key word is Risk in this situation, investing in small cap coins is high risk but also very high reward. Soo many early bitcoiners made millions by investing in altcoins that went up 100x.

Sooo many people just say "ohh only stay in the top 50, all the rest are scams", which just is not true, you can make just as much btc if not more trading small cap coins than you can trading the top 10 coins.

If you like the coin and you think it will go up then buy it, go for it, but be ready to sell on a pump because it could get really volatile. Good luck

Is a New Altcoin Bull Market About to Start? Analysis of Altcoin Leader Ethereum
Ethereum is the largest altcoin by market capitalization despite after undergoing sharper depreciation this year than most of its peers. Even while some cryptocurrencies were surging in price during periods of the year, Ethereum continued its downward spiral. Many are anticipating that a new altcoin bull market may be about to start with Bitcoin maintaining […]Is a New Altcoin Bull Market About to Start..........

Very well could, but the thing is there are literally THOUSANDS of new altcoins out there now. In 2016 there was alot less, the last big altcoin rally was in the spring in 2017, go back and look at the charts. Almost every altcoin got a big pump around that time, I am interested to see how the altcoin market would react now with the environment of all the ICO tokens that were released last year.

The reality is that volumes are bone dry and not moving, there are small isolated pumps but nothing sustaining other than I guess ripple. But I feel like that increase is merited by the tech and news around it. We are yet to see really any big sign of a coming huge bull altcoin market....I really want to believe it though, my bags are hurting.
78  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Ethereum (ETH) Daily Price Forecast – October 4 on: October 04, 2018, 01:42:19 PM
Very minimal volume and interest right now, it seems like alot of the money that left crypto went into this booming pot stock market.

These are good accumulation times though, with little interest and most coins hitting and just bouncing off floors of support I think its safe to buy and hold with confidence that in the horizon we will see another bull market.

bitcoin and ethereum are both around or below their 200-day moving avg which is a good signal to go off of
79  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Benefits of running a Masternode? on: October 03, 2018, 05:02:51 PM
I'm looking into the idea of setting up a few different Masternodes, Supernodes, etc. I'm curious if there are any other benefits besides monetary ones. For example, by running a masternode do I have access to data that I couldn't get otherwise? How do those benefits compare to running a regular node? Please help me out, and feel free to offer advice as to which nodes I should set up.

Depending on the coin you will be able to vote on proposals that are in the works to better the coin or bring usage to the protocol, for example:

https://www.dashcentral.org/budget

With Dash its very competitive and there are always proposals in the works, same thing with other coins out there. Most masternode coins now days have a governance system/treasury system coded into their distribution.

You will know about confirmed proposals ahead of time, it could be anything from marketing to proposals where they airdrop the extra coins to masternode owners. Its a pretty interesting system, if I was you I would choose a masternode coin that has a % of the block reward going to the treasury for the masternode owners to vote on what happens to it.
80  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Choosing DEX exchange. What is important to you when trading on DEX? on: October 02, 2018, 05:49:13 PM
I read that Binance is going to launch their Beta version of their decentralized exchange in 2019 which maybe another revoultionary thing among the crypto currency investors because it is one of the exchange where daily volume exceeds $1 Billion but when decentralization on exchange will leads to more crypto curreny traders evolvement sue to the low fee or no fee.

Ya I am looking forward to their DEX, I bet it will be really good. Need to look into it more, not sure how the fees will work either.

Whats most interesting to me about DEX's?? Taxes.

How can any government body subpoena a DEX for peoples trading history? That to me would be like the nail in the coffin for this taxing nightmare where they are trying to tax every crypto-crypto transaction or trade....i would bet no one is filing their taxes that way anyway.
