81  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: where are the investors? on: October 02, 2018, 04:13:54 PM
Some of the most successful crypto currencies are completely decentralized coins that had a fair distribution with No ICO, No Premine, No masternodes, No founders rewards ect ect...

These are completely different then these tokens that come out that just have a company and idea behind them, older crypto-currencies can survive just with a handful of blockchain developers and some supporting community members.

Big token ICOs can still fail if they don't have the proper support and developers ya know? I would say that any ICO that doesn't go to it's own chain is more prone of reaching a point where they lack funds to continue. Then again most of the big token coins have really good development.
82  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Choosing DEX exchange. What is important to you when trading on DEX? on: October 02, 2018, 03:27:16 PM
Recently, I have started thinking about the security of my assets in the market and therefore distributed them across several exchanges. But I realized that this is not very convenient does not solve the problem. Therefore, I decided to pay attention to decentralized exchanges. After small research i keep eye on several

Ethermium.com - like it because they have no fees on deposit and withdrawal, and low trading fees:
0.00% Maker / 0.20% Taker. He is very comfortable and fast.

Idex.market - I like that tradingwiev exchange tools are integrated into the exchange. I dont't like their fees and trade restrictions.

Airswap.io - I like this exchange but I do not see any distinctive features in it. Maybe I don't see something

Please express your opinion, I hope this will help me to make a choice.

Well for one it depends on what coins or tokens you are wanting to trade, for tokens MEW is the probably the most popular exchange but there is also very good alternatives like BarterDEX, developed by Komodo team.

http://www.barterdex.com/

I know barterdex is atomic swap based, its been argued that atomic swaps are the future for any kind of dex, I honestly havent even heard of any of these DEX's you have listed.

But as far as "storage" I would just keep coins/tokens on a hardware device, nothing more secure than that.
83  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Open Timestamps integration in to Bitcoin on: October 01, 2018, 02:37:33 PM
https://github.com/FactomProject

Factom is designed entirely to do this, time-stamping and immutable audit/data trails.

Although its alternative project, it is a data layer designed to be hashed and anchored into the bitcoin blockchain, or the ethereum blockchain.

Check out their whitepaper for more info:

84  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you share the president of Malta opinion? on: October 01, 2018, 02:27:37 PM
He is obviously biased, Malta has been situating itself as a hub for crypto innovators, Binance has been getting really cozy with the Malta government:

https://www.coindesk.com/binance-partners-with-malta-to-launch-security-token-trading-platform/

So he is definitely going to have a very pro crypto stance, I agree it is good that there are some countries out there that are taking this kind of stance but the second there is any kind of suspicious activity big brother USA will come knocking.

What do you think? In what way would you change bank system?

End the fed, or atleast audit it....do something to the Fed!

And how exactly do you think blockchain can change the situation? And what future is ahead of us in the cryp5ocurrency world?

Blockchain wont usher in a huge change but it will make the systems of the world more efficient and honest, once bitcoin becomes more widely used and accepted it will enable third world countries to be more ingrained into the global financial system. I also think P2P tech that comes from blockchain will really help third world countries.
85  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Bridge BCO PONZI Scam FRAUD on: September 28, 2018, 08:28:22 PM
BCO CB No premine means nothing for Ponzi Scam Fraud

You are not providing any evidence as to why its a ponzi scheme other than that you cant withdraw  Cheesy Cheesy

The supply on CMC is not increasing to cover early investors or anything like that, my staking positions are rewarded based on their trading volume.

They send out montly reports on their volume and how much was paid out to the stakers.

How is it a ponzi scheme? Are you just mad you opened a staking position, didn't read the rules and now cannot withdraw?
86  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Let`s talk about masternodes a bit. on: September 28, 2018, 07:52:54 PM
Disclosure: I have masternodes with several different coins

I have not heard of Crypto Noda, is it a website or a new coin?

Masternode coins exploded in 2017 mostly becuase of the Dash codebase, Dash started it all and Dash is proving that the masternode system is powerful:

https://www.businessinsider.com/dash-cryptocurrency-surges-in-venezuela-as-hyperinflation-explodes-2018-8

The biggest benefit of masternodes is the governance system/proposal system, because it enables the coin to be promoted and kept up with funds of the coin itself. Rather than a traditional POW or POS coin where people have to devote their own time or money. The governance system in a masternode coin provides this incentive to people through the budget system.

Take Dash's model for example:

https://dashnexus.org/leaderboard

Their proposals are very competitive and worthwhile for people who bring real value to the coin.
87  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Exchange Bittrex ceased trading by coin Bitcoin Gold on: September 28, 2018, 07:38:16 PM
I think this had more to do with the 51% attack that happened on this coin and its on-going issues. Read article below to get a better explanation of what I mean:

https://news.bitcoin.com/bittrex-to-delist-bitcoin-gold-over-51-attack/

These smaller blockchains that are POW are extremely susceptible to one or a small group of people gathering up a huge amount of hash power (more than 51%) and then they can essentially create their own transactions and double spend coins. They will send coins to the exchanges twice (i.e double spend) and then sell them on the market for bitcoin.

This has happened to several coins on cryptopia lately, its a huge problem and all these smaller coins are switching to Proof of Stake (POS), hence this is why I believe that POS is a better consensus mechanism than POW. Soooo many bitcoiners will disagree with me there but I think their argument is more of a philosophical argument of what is considered "work" rather than a technical one, both mechanism work, I just think POS is better from a security standpoint.
88  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dapps - eth or eos? on: September 28, 2018, 03:39:09 PM
I am saying it now....EOS will take a huge chunk of ethereum's dapps. Bancor, I big project built on top of ethereum has already committed to flipping over to the EOS network:

https://www.coindesk.com/ethereum-dapp-bancor-is-expanding-to-eos-for-fast-free-transactions/

EOS is faster and more scalable, it is seen as a next generation blockchain, also think about the miners vs the DPOS block creators in EOS. To become a block creator you have to apply and get votes, to get votes you have to show that you will be creating and working on projects that will bring value to the network and potocol of EOS.

On the other hand in Ethereum to mine blocks you just buy your GPUs and mine, anyone can do it and they only bring value to securing the network and that's it.

Some people may disagree with me here but POS is a better model than POW, EOS is way ahead in that regard and it will see so many more projects being built on it and being MOVED over to it.
89  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin mining & zero-point energy on: September 27, 2018, 02:43:41 PM
There is a reason why so many of the top projects out there are DPOS, bitcoin max will argue POS isnt a viable consensus mechanism but I think time has shown it to work, POW and POS both work at the moment.

Honestly I think there is more risk to POW vs. POS, especially on lower market cap coins.

As far as zero point energy...I think you have maybe gone to far down the rabbit hole watching youtube videos.

Are you insinuating that the gov has zero energy tech and won't release it to the world? Kind of far fetched, I think that if the tech did exist and mysteriously came out than it would be an absolute abrupt change as to where bitcoin mining would be the last of our concerns.
90  Economy / Marketplace / Re: What websites on crypto do you visit everyday? on: September 27, 2018, 02:27:02 PM
Coindesk
https://www.coindesk.com/

One of the best sources for news information about anything related to crypto.

You should try and check out the crypto sub-reddit as well
https://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/

Then also ZeroHedge covers crypto articles from time to time but is a better source for world events/news
https://www.zerohedge.com/

I will always check bitcointalk, CMC, OFX and then sometimes facebook groups but facebook has really lost quality content anymore, CCC used to be good years ago but not anymore.
91  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: USDC vs USDT: new stablecoins addition to the market, what do you think? on: September 26, 2018, 03:52:50 PM
I think the biggest thing that everyone should take away from the addition of many more stable coins is that we no longer have to worry about the systemic risk associated with the USDT (TETHER).

Back in Dec/Jan USDT was the focal point of soooo much FUD, it was in my opinion the biggest risk of the crypto market, if tether would have collapsed then it would have created a narrative that it was the only thing holding up the crypto market and prices would have tanked.

The rise of all these other stable coins that are more transparent and legitimate...Circle/Gemini to name a few, gives precedent that they provide more liquidity.

What do you think about the addition of this new stablecoin to the Cryptomarket  and do you think USDC has the potential to overtake USDT any sooner as no1 stablecoin in the cryptosphere?.

Yes for sure! Why would anyone use Tether anymore? With no proof of actually being backed by the dollar why take the risk? The only reason it will stay around is because it is so ingrained into so many exchanges.
92  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Coinbase accelerates the process of listing coin, the game changes? on: September 26, 2018, 02:48:08 PM
If they can accelerate the listing of more new coin, do you think this is a positive thing for the market? And this can be the driving force to boost prices for the market?

Reference source: https://twitter.com/coinbase/status/1044702895101247488

It's a positive for the markets only because it adds liquidity to these new coins, as far as boosting the price I don't think it will have an enormous effect, maybe a small pump for each coin but nothing sustained.

I think that the coinbase affect is over with, as they start to list more and more coins it will have less of an effect on the price.

Look at ETC, hardly any sustained price action, small pumps then corrects back to previous lows.

Look at ZRX, BAT and ZEC on July 13, 2018...all had small pumps to new highs that did not hold
93  Economy / Speculation / Re: CNBC goes bearish on Bitcoin on: September 25, 2018, 08:18:06 PM
CNBC has a history of not really giving the best advice at the best time

Although I do appreciate how much coverage they have given the industry over the last year I will say that their Crypto "Baller" Brian Kelly is pretty biased and they seem to have some kind of connection to bitcoin cash as well.

They just add fuel to the fire whichever way the market is going, if the market is down then it's "Bitcoin's Month from Hell!" or "Is Bitcoin Dead?".

I do agree with you that capitulation is probably for the most part over with, with them posting this they are probably looking at the short term. It really would not surprise me to go sideways for months on end in a tight range if we don't get any significant news.
94  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Ways to Earn little money from bitcoin monthly. on: September 25, 2018, 02:40:28 PM
Hello World, I've been searching for ways to earn little money monthly like $70-$100.

I've been looking for ways to earn money online (BTC) and all I've been seeing have seemed to be scams, I used to join signature campaigns and earn money to keep me for a month on there, but lately my account was hacked and I'll like to know ways y'all earn with little to no investment.

Thanks for your time. Cпacибo

Depending on how much time you have you could play poker on nitrogen sports, they run freerolls every day I think.

If you don't know how to play poker than you could always grind faucets but that is very tedious and you will only make small amounts.

Other than that I would look into referral marketing/affiliate marketing.
95  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining on: September 25, 2018, 01:55:36 PM
mining has lost its stable position like the safest way of making money.

This is debatable, it all depends on electricity cost and cost of equipment. For some people who have access to cheap electricity it can be extremely safe and profitable, that's why there was huge mining farms in china because of access to cheap electric.

I still believe mining is a more stable way of making money in crypto vs. buying off the market, as long as you do your research on the coin you are going to mine and have cheap electricity its a really good play.

Do you have ideas about it and about mining’s future in common?

The production of ASICs will become more competitive which I think will be good for the crypto industry, but we do really need more ASIC resistant centered coins to keep GPUs a viable source of mining.
96  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hacking is the Real Issue of Crypto currency on: September 24, 2018, 04:28:07 PM
It's been speculated a lot in recent years that exchanges will use the idea of getting hacked to cover up other forms of fraud. Jordan Belfort, a huge pessimist when it comes to crypto "currencies" (not blockchain) states in the video shown below around 12:00 and in another spot that he believes alot of the crypto hacks of exchanges have been used as a cover up.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4F2b42wah0Y

I have never heard of this exchange that you speak of but keep in mind that only a small % of the crypto exchanges in the world are watched over and regulated by branches of government, most being in the USA. Exchange hacks have become less and less prevalent in big markets but still a huge downfall in smaller markets like latin america or parts of asia.

Another thing to keep in mind is that several so called "youtube personalities" have come out and said that they were hacked, I think some of them did this just because they didn't want to be held liable for taxes.
97  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Bridge BCO PONZI Scam FRAUD on: September 24, 2018, 02:32:14 PM
Why do you think so?

The coin has no inflation. They are paying out the biggest part to the stakers in btc, not bco.

Apparentky they want to attract (long term) customers. In return they share a (big) part of their earnings to bco holders and marketmakers. I think they need at least a certain amount of liquidity to be attractive for customers.

They actually get a lot of liquidity when micro cap coins get halted and stopped for trading on centralized exchanges like cryptopia, they are in turn like a fall through, or secondary market for smaller coins. They will need to get ERC20 tokens listed someday to get more volume too.

I'm not sure if they will ever cross the cusp of just being a "backup, last resort" exchange though, it's hard to imagine big whale traders will start trading BTC/USDT on there with how slow and tough it is to use.
98  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Bridge BCO PONZI Scam FRAUD on: September 24, 2018, 02:29:49 PM
Crypto-Bridge is a decentralized exchange built on top of the BitShares Network, it's basically the same as Bitshares asset exchange, but with many different trading pairs and is easier for coins to get listed.

The people who build crypto-bridge are the developers of Bridge Coin, they had no ICO and no premine....that right there is enough to call your accusations unfounded and unjust. Dude, do some research first before you just spout off claims of ponzi schemes and fraud.

They launched an altcoin and mined it themselves while building crypto-bridge, they offer staking positions to people who want to lock up their BCO with them in order to get a little bit of the trading profit that the exchange generates. That in turn gives the coin some demand and value, its actually an interesting model. The coin is pretty much tied to the exchange and if the exchange is successful the coin will be too.

The only thing I will say is that the DEX is slow and cumbersome, it's the trade off of using a DEX.
99  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: It is Possible Ethereum Did Not Drop Due to ICO Sell Off After All on: September 23, 2018, 09:11:02 PM
It's also speculated that the drop was from bitmex adding eth swaps and the CEO pretty much encouraged users to short ETH, its been said he was anti ETH before anyways, I think its a combination of things though honestly.

With the ICOs I would bet that most had already liquidated a big portion of their ETH, and ETH wasn't the only way to fund these projects remember USD and bitcoin were accepted by most.

See the article about the bitmex swaps below:
https://bitcoinexchangeguide.com/bitmex-accused-of-manipulating-ether-price-as-ceo-claims-eth-will-drop-below-100/
100  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Have you ever been hacked on a crypto trading platform? (share your experience) on: September 23, 2018, 09:06:27 PM
Even if someone is using myetherwallet or a similar decentralized exchange they can still accidentally give their keys to hackers, just recently the DNS server of myetherwallet was hacked and people transfering ETH or tokens that put in their private keys to access their wallet were compromised.

For the best security use 2FA

Don't use priv keys anymore, use metamask or a hardware wallet to connect to myetherwallet

Use one email address for crypto exchanges, not a universal email for everything.

Dont post on social media with your real name and information about your crypto stuff

Bookmark sites so you dont get phised

Sorry about your friends loss, hope he can get passed it. good luck
