61  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Lack of capital or knowledge, which one is holding traders back from profits? on: May 04, 2024, 10:15:52 PM
Knowledge is the principal thing, whether in trading or in other endeavours.of.life. Without knowledge, we wallow in ignorance and grope in thick darkness.

I also had the challenge of getting capital that I can use for trading because I was depending on my trading profits until I got to know that trading needs a trader to have other jobs because you can not only depend on trading profits when you do not know how to trade excellently.
Well, on the part that traders should get other jobs to survive on until they're good at trading isn't an out of the space advice. It's the right thing to do. No one depends on a skill they don't have a mastery of. It cuts across.

Quote
What can you say about this two problems, how will you advice a trader that is suffering from any of this problems or how did you get out of the problem if you had suffered from having lack of capital or lack of knowledge. Which of this problem is more common among traders?.
Novice traders arrogantly blame lack of capital for their woes instead of their lack of knowledge. With set skills acquired, any trader can grow as little as $5 into wealth through compounding. All it takes is patience to get right entries. I'm not talking of trading memes. I'm talking of trading genuine and fundamental projects. It's doable.
62  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Binance Launchpool, a possible earning opportunity? on: May 04, 2024, 04:51:04 AM
~
A little more than 0.85 BNB and $3,500 in FDUSD, to be exact.
Oh, ok. I got in total slightly over 11 of that token. I like staking on the BNB pool because more allocation goes to it. I once staked the same equivalent amount on both pools to farm a certain token and discovered I got more allocation on the BNB pool.

Quote
I've sold the majority of my coins earned from Launchpool, some immediately and some during bull market periods, and I'm generally satisfied with the returns. I'm now holding the latest ones, hoping for another major pump.
I know it's your decision to make but don't you think you're selling them too early? For me, I think it's a big risk selling off any token from Binance launchpad before bull season because I know they will pump. Binance has a way of doing that magic. I can quickly sell off once tokens are release because of dump but I always find a way to get in back. That's my strategy, and until there's a pronounced bull run that will remain my strategy.
63  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CZ Sentenced, Your Bitcoin in their Custody on: May 04, 2024, 04:33:34 AM
Not your keys, not your coins... the exchanges, when used, shall be a means to just purchase and withdraw, in my humble opinion.
Just like not your pin/password, not your fiat in banks right? Whenever I read people make that assertion of just buy and immediately withdraw out I know those who aren't trading. It's that simple. By the way, what tells you you can't lose your coin even in your noncustodial wallet? This space is full of uncertainty or haven't you read about campaign managers here who got their wallets hacked?
64  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are you taking advantage of this red market? on: May 04, 2024, 03:45:58 AM
I think people should take this as the perfect time to buy the dip while the dip exists now.
I like it when I see people with this mindset instead of panicking over nothing. Every major dip is an opportunity to get into the market and buy our favourite tokens. I've been doing that in bits. Until the last quarters of this year, I ain't going to be scared of holding a falling knife. Paper hands will regret not utilizing this buying opportunities they're getting now.

Many Bitcoin investors didn't envisage that price will go this dip, and now it's happening, if anyone has the funds to buy now, they don't need to hesitate and hoping that price will dip further, because the market is volatile, you don't know when price will start rallying upward.
Yes, that's true. Many didn't but those that did  saw this coming that price would dip after halving. That has always been the practise with Bitcoin circle. Bull run doesn't start immediately after halving. It takes a few months to kick off and that's why the impatient among those who feel buying Bitcoin is a shortcut to riches get discouraged and sell off prematurely in loss. Patience is key in this industry.
65  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: [Bitcoin] List the exchange that offer p2p on: May 03, 2024, 08:36:48 PM
Our wicked polithiftians and their cohorts dem fit there here dey snoop around and use your update begin witchhunt these new exchanges wey users go drop now. Anyway, whateva wey dem dey do now dey should know that cryptos have come to stay. Wetin dey surprise me pass na the strength wey dem dey take attack cryptos and anything related to progress for youths. Honestly, Tinubu wan finally take this country several years backward. So, we should not do owa P2P on peace anymore.
66  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do not get discouraged by the current price of Bitcoin on: May 03, 2024, 07:19:23 PM
It has been only a couple rough days, we are back on track now!
But of course, it's obvious Bitcoin isn't done with upward movement yet. In fact, now isn't even the right time to short Bitcoin. Those who trade Bitcoin should be out looking for buy opportunities, not sell. I'm sure those who sold a few days ago when the market experienced a dump will be regretting doing that now. Well, I don't know if Bitcoin will fully recover from here to the upside or it will still dip again to the $52k region to test it as there's a strong support down there and a gap for it to cover.
67  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Renzo Airdrop on: April 30, 2024, 10:48:34 PM
Plus the gas fee om claiming is quite expensive hope the price is worth the claim of gas since its gotta be on eth network.
It was the same thing that discouraged me too. I'm always weary of projects using the Eth native chain for its claim or swap. That's a joy killer. I rather not participate at all than participate but not being able to receive reward due to high gas fee.
68  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Binance Launchpool, a possible earning opportunity? on: April 30, 2024, 08:36:32 PM
The 46 coins I acquired through farming are less than $10 worth, and this is probably the first time I've experienced such a floppy launch.
That means you staked around 4 BNB to farm Rez. I also farmed it. Well, for me, I won't say it was disappointing because I didn't expect it to worth much. Once I see so much tokens allocated for launchpad for farmers, I do a mental calculation after day one to have a vague idea of what I should be getting at the end. Anyway, I don't concern myself with what price is upon any listing. I've never bothered with that because I don't intend to sell any token from Binance launchpad yet until the bull rally gets to its height.

One thing I've come to observe is that Binance now has more launchpads at short intervals unlike when CZ was running the exchange.
69  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should the top altcoins now be ok that we are in bull run? on: April 30, 2024, 07:03:43 PM
When i first started crypto over 2 years ago I was constantly told altcoins are risky and you should only invest in Bitcoin & Ethereum but i have had no problems at all.
Possibly, you're hodling strong fundamental altcoins and that explains why you haven't run into regrets of loss. For real, altcoin investment is risker than Bitcoin investment as most of the projects are only repeating what others before them have said or done. Most of them just want to scam and rugpull. You better be careful and don't let loose your guard thinking you can't lose all with altcoin.

...this makes it hard for investors to have confidence in memecoins unless for those that want to gamble with they funds.
Bros, nothing spoil. I understood your position better now on meme history and creation.

Talking about confidence, I'm even of the opinion that no one should be so confident about any altcoin investment. Nothing is ever guaranteed in this industry. I won't even give Bitcoin 100% vote of confidence. This industry is full of uncertainty. Investment in memes should be seen as investment in alts with higher risk like what we've in Degens and that's almost the same thing that happens with casinos. However, the slight difference with casinos is that with memes, people can be lucky if they invest very early and the project doesn't rugpull. There are sites to check for liquidity lockup of projects and onchain analysis to help know those that are likely not to scam. It's a lot of work doing all that research, anyway.
71  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ionet Ignition Progam Airdrop Campaign on: April 30, 2024, 04:08:44 PM
However due to the excessive amount of projects it’s a bit difficult to separate which ones are scams. We just submit our wallets and click a bunch of buttons and soon we’ll see our wallets drained.
Submitting wallets isn't the same thing as linking or connecting your wallet. To submit wallet, you just copy and paste the address in a tab provided for it on the site by project. Pasting of address won't give a site a direct interaction with our wallet like when it's connected to it. However, I advise that even if it's only going to copying and pasting of addresses, get a burner wallet for it. You never can tell if the project will later demand that one should connect to the wallet from where the address is copied from in the first place. Scam projects can think that way and those who submitted addresses will be faced with the dilemma of continuing with the airdrop or not. So, to be safer, use burner wallets for every airdrop hurting.
72  Economy / Speculation / Re: When will the real bull run begin? on: April 30, 2024, 02:55:55 PM
~snipped~
One thing I notice with people about this bull run of a thing is that they calculated the date of the halving and decided to set a date to take profit, which isn’t right.
Those who set date to take profit instead of price level are getting it all wrong. The target should be on price, not dateline. For instance, my projection of price was (is) that it would be in the $120k – $150k range to give us a new ATH. That was a painstaking calculation I made late last year, not knowing that Bitcoin would even break its own previous ATH before halving in April. I have my strategy of taking profit in place, this hasn't changed despite how Bitcoin broke its ATH record before time. Yes, to me, it's looking like Bitcoin will surpass that $150k range but I'm not going to allow greed change my approach on taking profit. I think newbies should also set their target before the bull frenzy sets in and greed takes over the market.

Quote
My advice has always been the bull run could come anytime, it could come earlier than the past trend or even come later than it. Just hodl and set a target price to take profit, any time it gets there you take profit.
Exactly! That's an intentional way of relating with the market without getting burnt out. Those who take profit gradually at their strategic points won't regret it.

Most of the times, despite the fact that memecoin haven’t made that debut market entry and impact where the price benchmark can reflect on the general crypto-currency market...
No, that isn't actually accurate. Memes have been making serious waves in the market even since last year, that's excluding Shiba Inu and Dogecoin presence. Look at the memes on the Solana chain and see how much in revenue they've raked in for Solana. Let's just even look at Bonk and WIF alone. See how great they did and are still doing. What about TonFish on the Ton chain? What about BRC20 coming up on the Bitcoin chain? Memes are doing well now, though they're highly risky. They're the gambling part of cryptos. They can flip small cash but at the same time can cause one to lose all.
74  Economy / Speculation / Re: bullish & bearish community !!!! on: April 30, 2024, 04:26:47 AM
what is the meaning of bullish candles  or bearish.. it's all fake.....all manipulated.....no politic...no TA ...no FA....
No TA and FA aren't a big joke like you wrote in your earlier post. You need a good knowledge and use of either of them or both to be profitable in trading. In fact, FA drives the TA. Look around with news and how it affects the market whether positively or negatively. If there's a hack today, just this morning, of let's say Binance exchange; what direction do you think the market will head to? Of course, you know where. FA and TA aren't just a manipulation of bots. They're real happenings.
75  Economy / Economics / Re: Surviving in this economy needs a new minds set on: April 29, 2024, 11:46:46 PM
This makes me to think and have come to the realization and conclusion that surviving in this present economic situation needs a total different mind set such that will make you to think out side of the box
Seeing this post, I took a guess that you're either from the same country as I am or from another African country. Africa is a continent where politicians say something they don't  intend to do. They know they can do all that and get away with it as their citizens hardly hold them accountable. It's a big shame. To make matters worse, the same thing the politicians do with unfulfilled promises is what those in the religious circles also do. Every new year, there are declarations upon declarations of prophecies that don't come to pass. Yet, their congregations still worship and adore these pulpit bandits like they're worth anything other than their mere speculations.

Investing in crypto currencies like Bitcoin is not a bad idea at all
Yes, it's really not a bad idea. However, it's paramount to know when to invest and also when to take profit. Otherwise, one won't have a good story to tell about Bitcoin/cryptos.
76  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do low fees matter most in choosing crypto platforms, or other factors? on: April 29, 2024, 09:20:27 PM
I prioritize the safety of my funds over transaction fees while choosing exchanges. Safety first for me and that's why I will never subscribe to any exchange with a trust score less than 8/10. I can't risk my capital over minimal difference in fees. Most of those scam exchanges might even deliberately reduce transaction fees so as to get in more people to their platforms to scam at the end.

However, if I'm choosing coins/tokens to buy I look at the chain they're on. I do this to have an idea what swapping or withdrawal fees will be like when I'm selling off. This is why I always avoid Ethereum based projects. Fees are scary on them.
77  Economy / Speculation / Re: When will the real bull run begin? on: April 29, 2024, 09:06:09 PM
I will continue to hold as I feel we are only months away from the real bull run but it is testing my patience lately waiting month after month for some real price action.
That patience is what you're supposed to have a double dose of right now if you must gain your early investment. Otherwise, you're going to be on the sideline to rue your quick sell off. If you waited this long, I don't see how extra six more months wait will destroy you. Patience is key in this industry.

How is everyone else feeling?
I'm nonchalant about the current price and how it has been stalling and ranging since after halving. I'm looking at the bigger picture in price. Bitcoin won't do anything less than $100k a few months from now.
78  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will MemeCoins Fuel the Next Crypto Craze? on: April 29, 2024, 05:36:43 PM
Let's be real, while lacking fundamentals, meme coins provide the speculation and hype that attracts newcomers to crypto.
Yes, memes are doing just that and they're doing it conveniently well. We know that people like where there's hype. That's how memes survive – with hype and noise. We can see how the Bitcoin chain has also been used to create memes. It's a record that for the first time, Bitcoin ecosystem is able to embrace something else that's not Bitcoin. Smart projects don't want to miss out on the trending meme hype. That's why they're creating BRC20 tokens to draw attention to the ecosystem and also make money from them. People should pay attention to Runes and other BRC20 tokens this bull run. I'm of the opinion that these tokens will print money for those who will invest early enough.
79  Economy / Speculation / Re: Next movement of Bitcoin. Let's share everything you can about Bitcoin. on: April 29, 2024, 02:43:44 PM
Hello everyone,
I am a crypto investor and have invested much in meme coins and other altcoins. Now I am in minus; you know it is pressuring my head. Because I am a beginner investor, I need to know the next movements of Bitcoin. It will help me and other noobies who have invested in crypto.

Thanks in advance
You bought meme tokens and alts but you're asking about Bitcoin movement. I hope you know both are different terrains. Yes, I know more experienced investors have a way of using Bitcoin to gauge alts but they do so based on Bitcoin dominance, not price. Right now, Bitcoin has taken slightly half of the chunk of the entire market capitalization with its 50%+ dominance. If anyone is expecting alts to bull on this type of dominance, they should rethink it because it's not going to be possible. Bitcoin dominance has to drop for alts to rally up.

Going forward, I think you should invest in strong fundamental coins with use cases and reduce your heavy investment in memes. Your portfolio can crash to zero overnight if memes and alts without use cases are all you have. Beware.
80  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Please HELP: Sent ETH through Arbitrum instead of ERC20 network - Anything I can on: April 29, 2024, 12:12:51 PM
Very stupid, I know...Is there anything I can do at this point to recover my ETHs?
There's nothing you can do now, except count on Deribit to add the right chain. At the moment, it's a loss pending when that happens. Well, I wouldn't call it stupid. This thing happens, even to the rest of us. A few months ago I moved some Arbitrum One to Arbitrum One on Opensea to mint something instead of ETH to Arbitrum. That fund is still hanging till date. I felt bad about that but I've tried to take my mind off it, ATM.
