601  Local / Ekonomi, Politik, dan Budaya / Re: Jakarta Darurat Polusi on: September 03, 2023, 01:51:16 PM

602  Local / Ekonomi, Politik, dan Budaya / Re: Peradilan... on: September 03, 2023, 01:45:20 PM

603  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hope is all I have left on: September 03, 2023, 01:34:32 PM

Is there any hope for small Bitcoin buyers like myself? Can 1Sat ever be 1 Cent one day?

Not impossible but not in near future, if you are still struggling to invest in Bitcoin then shouldn't be your focus, invest only what you can lose. Learn more skill, get better job, that should be your focus. While you can invest small amount of your spare  money into bitcoin and just leave it alone, never touch it, it will worth something one day.
604  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How was your first Bitcoin experience? on: September 03, 2023, 12:42:01 PM
My first encounter with Bitcoin and this forum was kinda embarrassing, some of members in this forum might now a ponzi scam project called Bitconnect, one of my relative joined this cult --before it turns into scam definitely-- and they try to promote it to me. I know it was too good to be true, and then I do some research on it, then I found about Crypto, Bitcoin and then this forum. I actually mistaken Bitconnect and Bitcoin the first time, I thought both are the same.
605  Economy / Economics / Re: What Actually Drives People/Gov to Adopt New and Bold Decisions on: September 03, 2023, 12:31:34 PM
Well yeah the sad truth, just like companies, not all companies is good companies, not all government is good government, and I don't mean good like in decent, I just mean that some government do not really know how to be more profitbale and be sustainable. Any government that don't invest in education to make their people more intelligence will be left behind by other country, and they will not survive so long, people will be poor and extremely dissatisfied to the state that they want a revolution.
That would be true if the government in turn had as a goal the progress of their nation and its people, however the goal of many politicians out there is simply to keep themselves in power, and in that case keeping their citizens ignorant and poor works best for them, this is why the literacy rate was so low back on the Medieval age, books were expensive and almost no one could read them as they were written in a different language than the one people spoke, and this is why as soon as this changed thanks to the movable type printing press people began to aks questions and change their way of thinking, which lead to the Renaissance.

That's what I mean as a not good government, if they want to keep themselves in power the only way to do is to keep the people work for them, and also make the people work harder and better. If they don't do that, eventually there will be no country to rule, no one to be exploited, and there will be no power to be held anymore, they will not sustain. A good government will keep most of the profit of their country to themselves, while sharing small amount of the money just enough to keep the people working and earning more profit for the government.

If the government succeed in doing this, they will keep generating wealth and much more, while their people will trap in the middle-class, but these middle class will still happy with their life and keep working for the government.
606  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Binance and multiple citizenship on: September 03, 2023, 12:10:48 PM
First question, why you would want to open another account, why not just used your current account, I can't find any terms that said your binance account will be removed/locked/banned if your country bans Binance. Instead you can update your KYC information for the reason of nationality change, https://www.binance.com/en/support/faq/how-to-update-my-identity-verification-information-4646688d026343a2a076b327407c0b6b.

Next, the second possibility, let's say that your previous account that tied to the banned country is removed, then I suppose you will not have any problem registering a new account, since your data is not registered on Binance anymore.
607  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: After all these years on: September 02, 2023, 02:17:47 PM
I don't have the data but I doubt that XRP is any close to become more mainstream than Bitcoin as a global currency. Since the very first time, I think everyone would know that making Bitcoin a global currency that is agreed by all government in the world and unionize them is very radical idea. It would need an extreme level of political will of every governments to agree to accept something that is not controlled by single entity as a common currency for all, currency means power, we can see how US dominate politic and economy with USD, and we are now watching how China are trying to take those throne on USD with their RNB.

My point is, the worst could happened, Bitcoin may still be an investment in 10 or 20 years or even we may will not see, in our lifetime that Bitcoin become global common currency, but at least we are some of few people who are trying to start a decentralized currency that we all agreed is better than the current centralized system.
608  Economy / Economics / Re: What Actually Drives People/Gov to Adopt New and Bold Decisions on: September 02, 2023, 01:59:07 PM
I know most people thing that government is all evil and cruel, but the truth is government is just like a big company. Each and everyone of them want to make profit for themself while at the same time maintain the government and the nation to survive and keep running. Government won't make a huge policy that will sink the nation, kill most of the citizen or make them very poor and stop working, they need to make the citizen able to work so the economy is not stop. Most of their decision will be made to increase productivity and nation income thus increase their own income, those decision will most likely dictate by the stakeholders or some of us call them Oligarch, some of the decision will be based on good research, but then again even if the decision is based on research the goal is still to increase productivity and income so the stakeholders get richer, and the government get more bonuses. In some special case, like in the country where I live, the Oligarch is also the government, most of the new laws that made are actually benefitting their business.

I wish this were true, but it can only be true in some countries. There are countries where the leaders do not care if the country or its citizens get better. The whole country can be burning for all they care as far as their accounts will get fat.

Illiteracy and poverty is a very strong tool for politicians. They can country the masses if the masses don't need them so they make sure the masses are never free.
The leaders keep giving them crumbs so they keep coming back for more.
During campaigns, they promised them electricity and better transport systems and better education and security, blah blah blah. Now imagine if all these things are already what these people have and they have good jobs that pay them well, what would these politicians use as bargaining chips to win votes?

Well yeah the sad truth, just like companies, not all companies is good companies, not all government is good government, and I don't mean good like in decent, I just mean that some government do not really know how to be more profitbale and be sustainable. Any government that don't invest in education to make their people more intelligence will be left behind by other country, and they will not survive so long, people will be poor and extremely dissatisfied to the state that they want a revolution.
609  Economy / Economics / Re: Stable coin or having USD in bank on: September 02, 2023, 01:52:24 PM
If between those two then my case, I am from Indonesia and the currency wasn't too bad, but still up and down. I would prefer to save a USD in my Bank Account rather to just hold a centralized stable-coin, the main reason is because my saving was guaranteed by the Deposit Insurance Agency, so in case something happened to the bank I suppose it would be easier for me to get my money, and fortunately my bank gives me option to save USD instead local currency.

I would pick having USD in the bank over stable coin any time any day. Have you seen what is happening with stable coins? So many stable coins are facing a crisis. So many stable coins are backed by a consortium of companies like Goldman Sachs and Coinbase, and they are not as decentralized as it claims, with the ability to freeze accounts and blacklist addresses. There is just too much trouble having your money in stable coin. On the other hand, having USD in bank gives you the confidence you need to know that nothing will happen to it because of its stability and widespread use.

Man, of course I knew what's going on with the stable coin, the UST news is also kinda hard to be missed, that's why I said that I would prefer to save USD on my bank account, we are on the same page here, did you read my post at all?
Your reply quoting me look like that we are disagreeing, while actually we both agree on the same thing
610  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Countries where Bitcoin is “banned” on: September 02, 2023, 01:20:10 PM
I think I will make a little correction for the Indonesian regulation, I live in Indonesia and I am offering service for international client and I mainly use Bitcoin and sometimes other crypto too. The thing is in Indonesia there is never a specific law that said Bitcoin is banned as form of payment, only that every payment/transaction that involve currency should only use Rupiah (the local fiat). So, not only Bitcoin but USD, GBP, and all other currency is banned as a form of payment for local transaction.

But there are also some exception that allows transaction with currency other than Rupiah, one of which is International Trading, including import and export of goods and services, so if you are a foreigner and wants to buy something from Indonesia to be sent to your location overseas it's legal to use Bitcoin, but if you come to visit Indonesia and buy locally you first need to exchange your bitcoin into Rupiah.
611  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: No Electric Supply to Bitcoin Mining Operations in Laos on: September 02, 2023, 01:01:29 PM

The Governor of EGAT said that if the drought in Laos becomes severe, hydropower plants in Laos will generate less electricity, reducing export capacity.

https://en.vietnamplus.vn/laos-stops-power-supply-to-cryptocurrency-mining-businesses/266967.vnp

Laos is a very small country and lack of natural resources, they don't have coal, natural gas, or oil, they rely on hydropower plant as their main source for electricity which is very not effective when the dry season come and adding the current heatwave situation they are really in bad condition. I bet it's even difficult for Laos to keep the supply for a less power demanding business, let a lone crypto-mining which required much power. I think if anyone want to create a crypto mining business, the should consider choosing a country that has more natural resources that can be converted into electrcity.
612  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Why do members switch campaigns always? on: September 02, 2023, 12:04:06 PM
I haven't joined many campaigns, previously most of campaigns is Casino and Gambling and they required active posters on the Gambling section and I don't do that, only recently that there are Many Bitcoin mixer campaigns so that I started to join a campaign. I think how much they earn is not the main reason people moving to another campaign, I mean as long as it's not too low compared to other campaign they will not consider it as a problem, they will move to another if it's more suitable to their posting habit, like the in what section they should/shouldn't post, or how much post they need to make.

I myself,  just moved to a new campaign because I just rank up.
613  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A good way to help our children. on: September 01, 2023, 03:13:41 PM
But if Bitcoin is still worthy to be passed on to our children, then there will be much more bitcoin adoption in the era of our children. There will definitely be a plus and minus if we compared Crypto in our/current era versus the next era. At the very least it will be easier for them use bitcoin as a currency, the true purpose of Bitcoin.
614  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin movement: my thought on: September 01, 2023, 03:09:41 PM
I think there are already some crypto / blockchain related business that advertised on more mainstream media like sports sponsorship. But if you want to be more specific, something like Put Bitcoin on mainstream advertisement directly, then it's highly unlikely, since Bitcoin does not have a central entity that are willing to advertise that, so no one is directly benefiting from bitcoin advertisement, even the whale think it's not worth.
615  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Advantages of Bitcoin over fiat and local banks on: September 01, 2023, 03:03:58 PM
The first two of the benefits were less likely to be utilized by Bitcoin holder, especially the newbie. They don't yet have the knowledge to use non-custodial wallet where they have full control over their own fund, most of them stored it in an online wallet, or worse some of them even store bitcoin in the centrailzed exchange wallet.
616  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Careless Trading on: September 01, 2023, 12:30:43 PM

I believe too well that anyone venturing into tradings knows the reason and why they are trading, meaning they had plans for themselves, I can't believe anyone would go into market to trade without any intentions of making profits or securing something good profits after every trade. Professional trading comes into play when the skills are fully explored, you can't expect a newbie trader to trade like a professional without having to developed themselves like a professional trader.
What i think should planned of when they should enter trade

This might be surprising for you but there are many people that doing trading like they are gambling on a casino, they wouldn't even do any research on what they trade, they just get some general news from an online media, or look at the general trend, and put their money on it, hoping for a quick profit. Tho I also can say that this kind of people wouldn't survive long in the market.
617  Economy / Economics / Re: Crisis like 1930 it's impossible now we are use to with good life on: September 01, 2023, 12:16:13 PM
I don't know whether you are serious with what you are writing on the OP, but I think there are less than 10% of people who actually living those kind of life you are describing, the rest are just living a normal middle-class life. And moreover, the people who are right now enjoying luxurious life won't be affected as much as the middle and lower class if an economic crisis actually happen.

619  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Are there crypto related freelancing sites around? on: August 31, 2023, 03:58:40 PM
As a fellow freelancer I would like to welcome you to the freelancing world, wish you can handle the struggle. Some of the reply already mentioned several sites, but in my opinion the fastest growing crypto freelancing platform is https://www.cryptotask.org/ and https://laborx.com/. I haven't got many jobs from either platform, only a couple projects, but it paid goods, better than Fiver and similar platform. The downside is that the moderator is not so active, so you will need to be careful of scammers.
620  Economy / Economics / Re: Increase in stable coins adoption might just be the key to crpyto dominance. on: August 31, 2023, 03:49:14 PM
~
What I don't understand in the OP's position is that he is trying to connect the dominance of stablecoins in the digital asset market with the dominance that crypto will have as a direct result of that. This assumes that stablecoins are considered cryptocurrencies when they are just another form of digital fiat currencies.

Though most (or maybe all) of stable coin is centralized, and backed by fiat, as long as they are using Cryptographic encryption and blockchain technology, they still can be considered as cryptocurrency, a centralized crypto currency but still cryptocurrency, and it might sound weird, but there are actually some people who are never learn Bitcoin or Crypto, but they are familiar PayPal, Skrill and other online payment method, with PayPal releasing a cryptocurrency, it might be their first step to learn about crypto. I don't fully agree to every statements by OP, but some part of his opinion actually make sense.
