601  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How much was the price of Bitcoin when you started trading? on: November 14, 2023, 08:47:57 PM
I don't remember exactly when I first heard about Bitcoin. But when I first got interested into crypto, I think the price of Bitcoin was around 900 USD. But, unfortunately, it was back in early 2020, when Bitcoin was trading for something like 10,000 USD when I bought my first coins and started trading with.

There is a only 500+ downloads of this app and there is no trust rating so far. The app contains ads and we never know if there is any malware programmed in the app. If it was published on iOS then we could have trusted it but anyone can put up the app on google play store without any scrutiny.

As a method of precaution, i would advise not to download this app unless we see some really good feedback about it.

I saw some stuff online lately about fake wallet apps popping up in the App Store for iOS.  So I guess it's not totally impossible for malware to make its way onto iOS too.  And yeah, just 'cause an app is in the official Google Play store for Android doesn't automatically make it safe. I agree that one should be careful, and better wait for some verified reviews.

Quitting gambling cold turkey probably ain't for everyone struggling with addiction.  Going bit by bit is likely more doable.  It's kinda like making new routines to switch out the old ones and  slow change tends to stick more, so the person can redirect their attention without feeling overwhelmed.  It's a long haul, and everyones recovery road looks different.  Patience and support can make a big difference.

No slot game depends on 50% luck and 50% skills and knowledge and I never said so either.  Smiley
I said that slot depends on 100% luck and that's why I never play it.

How can we then shift from relying 100% on luck to a mix of 50% luck and 50% skill and knowledge, as you mentioned earlier?

You gave slots as an example and said that we can minimize the dependence on luck to only 50%. How?

Spot on! Same here. Instead of counting 100% on luck on slots example, we can minimize the 100% luck to 50% and replace the other 50% with skill and knowledge.
605  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Wallets on Coinbase on: November 13, 2023, 10:11:41 PM
Thanks for the reply.  I think for now then My intention is to continue to use Coinbase and once my crypto has made a bit of profit, if any, I'll use it to purchase a non custodial wallet , thinking of a Ledger Nano,  and then transfer my crypto to that. Still a lot to learn for me but it seems the community here is very helpful.

It doesn't necessarily need to be a hardware wallet for it to be non-custodial, like hosseinimr93 pointed out.  If a wallet lets you fully control your funds instead of the company behind it then it's a non-custodial wallet.

As for the Ledger Nano, they are not so popular no more.  Folks are ticked off about some of their recent controversial decisions and  if you're in the market for a hardware wallet, I'd say go with an open source one from a trusted company instead of Ledger.
606  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do you want to play on casinos without KYC requirements? on: November 13, 2023, 10:08:22 AM
I don't think KYC is always necessary, not just for gambling but in general.  Handing over personal info to any company seems too risky.  You never know if they'll keep that info secure or if they'll have a data breach and  so many big companies have been hacked before and lost peoples private data.  I remember hearing about credit card companies getting hacked and all their customers' social security numbers and credit cards getting stolen.  That's scary! If you don't absolutely need to give a company your personal info for their service, its probably smarter not to.  There's always a chance your data will get compromised if you give it out.  So I'd rather avoid KYC if I can.
607  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do Owners of betting companies bet? on: November 11, 2023, 08:37:46 PM

If it is on their own gambling site then what for? Some sort of money loop? It is their money which they would be getting from the prize pool. But if it is with other platforms, then probably most of them don’t bet ‘coz they simply know how things are working perhaps that the house will always win. Some might be doing so but for entertainment purposes or to learn new things from other platforms which they could use on their own as means of improvement. The only chance that they are is if they really enjoy betting personally. Quite of a cliché plot wherein business owners are starting a business from an activity or thing which they love.

I get what you're saying.  I just meant they could do it if they wanted, not that they had some reason to.  Least not one I can think of, anyway.  Is it for some money loop thing or just to get their stats up? Definitely makes me scratch my head.  Only thing that makes sense is maybe they wanna seem more popular than they are.
But hey, we don't really know what's going on behind the scenes with these online gambling companies!  Wink
608  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do Owners of betting companies bet? on: November 11, 2023, 04:53:22 PM
The people who own casinos and sports betting sites can bet on their own sites if they want.  I mean, they own the place so they make the rules! It's different for the workers there though and  a lot of times the bosses don't want employees betting on the site because it can be a conflict of interest or whatever.  But it really depends on the policies they got.  Some places ban staff from betting at all to avoid any shady stuff.  Other owners don't really care and let employees do their thing.  Id probably not let employees bet on my own site though.  That's just asking for trouble in my opinion.  But then again I don't own a casino or sportsbook so who knows what I'd do if I was the big boss making mad cash on betting.  Cheesy
609  Economy / Gambling / Re: Jacksclub.io - Next Evolution in Online Gambling on: November 11, 2023, 04:43:25 PM
Sure thing, Thanks for the welcome! I have locked the earlier topic as of now!

I'm not really sure why you decided to make a whole new thread instead of just adding to an existing one - that usually helps build up your rep 'round here.  but hey, no biggie. But, you might wanna go back and spice up your first post a little to make it stand out more than all the other casino sites people talk about on this forum so it grabs people's attention more. I'd throw in some pictures or graphics or something if it were me.

The account of Rollin.io team was still actively last month. They confirmed that their team engaged in Jacksclub.io business.

I believe Rollin' was way more popping back in its heyday than any of these newfangled dice sites that have been sprouting up lately.  Real shame they had to go and shut the site down.
610  Economy / Gambling / Re: l0tt0.com on: November 11, 2023, 12:32:51 AM
I think adding support for other bitcoin layers and Lightning Network is a good idea too.  Those have way lower fees so seems practical to me.  Kinda surprising that the OP wasn't that into it.  I feel like the fees on the main bitcoin network are just too high for small bets now and  LN lets you do micropayments which could work better for a lottery site. Also, maybe lowering the minimum bet could get more people playing.  People might wanna place smaller bets just for fun.
611  Economy / Gambling / Re: Guide for newcomers Start a fun and profitable gambling entertainment journey o on: November 11, 2023, 12:16:35 AM
That's kind of ironic that there's a guide on how to have fun when in a sense, having fun in gambling is a subjective thing so I guess I don't see how it's a good or fun idea to have a guide. And I think that having fun in gambling kind of sounds like something that should already be known by anybody already since it should be a common sense to have fun if it involves something like gaming or gambling. That's a good analogy but a misleading one because there's more people that's going to that movie that's losing more money after they leave.

Yeah! It's kinda ironic that people need a guide on how to gamble and have fun.  It's like, isn't that the whole point? Like you shouldn't have to think too hard about it.  It reminds me of someone trying to explain how to properly eat a slice of pizza or something.   Wink

Common sense should indeed be the guide here.
612  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sad reality: some countries gamble more than they can afford on: November 10, 2023, 11:36:21 PM
Research shows that people with low socioeconomic status (SES) tend to be more at risk for gambling problems.  These folks got less money, so when they gamble away a chunk of their paycheck it hurts a lot more than someone with a higher SES who has more financial resources to fall back on. For someone living check-to-check, blowing their grocery money on the 1-in-a-million Powerball jackpot probably ain't the best idea.  But when you're desperate even a tiny chance at a big payday can seem worth it.

As for the government, they dont usually step in to help with gambling addiction issues in low income communities.  That's partly cause gambling rakes in a ton of tax dollars that politicians want for their budgets.  Casinos and lotteries promise quick money for cities and states, so they turn a blind eye to the harm.  It's messed up, but governments care more about dollars than people's well-being.  If only there were programs to educate folks on gambling risks or free addiction counseling, but that all costs money, which is exactly what gambling provides.  Its a vicious circle.
613  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bustabit Bankroll Profit Predictor on: November 10, 2023, 06:19:22 PM
Makes me wonder how this site works out the calculations.
I also wonder if there was a single year where investors in a dice site had returns of 33% in BTC. Normally some data should be used to calculate returns but I don't know any website having data on dice side investments other than dicesites.com, and even for them I'm not sure if they make the whole raw data public.
Both yours and others result are insane. Really? Those figures? I think those are a lot only for a 1 BTC investment per year. I expect something lower than it. I only realized that the site was still in alpha phase, as on what is written when I visit it, so let us be patient for a while, while the OP is working on it in the background.
<...>

Though yeah, alani123 shared the numbers as percentages so the original investment amount doesn't really matter.  I get what you're saying, but percentages let you compare no matter how much the initial investment was.  30% of $100 is the same as 30% of $10,000 - it's still 30% and  big returns sound great but being skeptical makes sense too.

I have some FUN tokens locked in my freebitco savings account. I would like to know if the Free SPIN in Wheel of Spin can be accumulated if I dont use it every day or if it has to be used daily. I have been using it every day since I purchased my FUN tokens, so Im not entirely sure if the free spins will roll over to the next day or if they expire.

No, the free spins that you receive from your FUN tokens holdings never expire. You can accumulate as many as you want and use them all at once when it suits you. The only free spins that will expire after a day or so are the ones you receive in the daily newsletter.
615  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to cash out the money from electrum on: November 10, 2023, 05:53:24 PM
How to pull out the cash from electrum stored btc anonymously?

I'm guessing your question isn't just about the Electrum wallet.  It seems like you're trying to figure out how to swap bitcoin for cash anonymously when crypto is illegal where you live.  A few ideas come to mind, but you've gotta be real careful considering those restrictions.

One option is looking into platforms where people trade directly, P2P,  they're usually more private, but make sure to find one with a good reputation and follow their guidelines.  Whether they're available might depend on where you are though.  You could also check out local bitcoin groups where people might wanna make such deals. One thing you have to decide is how you want to receive fiat money in such a trade. If you expect payment to your bank account, then it doesn't make much sense to look for anonymous transaction methods other than P2P. If you expect an exchange for cash, then a meeting with the buyer in person is your only option.

Id just say move slowly and don't take big risks.  There are ways to trade under the radar if you're smart.  But better be safe than sorry!

I might be wrong or it might be my ignorance. Isn't this issue of seeing the forum down became more prevalent after the Bitcoin mixer issue. I mean it is more frequent and long lasting before the mixer got down by the FBI.

Which mixer are you referring to? You need to be more specific, given that there have been multiple mixer sites shut down by the FBI/Europol.
But, I fail to see the relevance to the issues with the bitcointalk hosting server.

I think there is something wrong and I feel the admin should have two urls. One .org and the next should be .onion.

And what if the cause of the problem lies on the hosting side, as theymos has already mentioned? How will having a .onion mirror domain help in that case?
617  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What impact does the BTC price have on your gambling habits? on: November 09, 2023, 09:50:21 PM
The price of Bitcoin definitely influences how I play the game.  When BTC is pumping and I'm riding that crypto high, sometimes I get a little reckless with my plays.  The exhilaration of watching those gains stack makes me want to just go for it without thinking too hard.  But then again, when the market is tanking and my portfolio looks like a hot mess, I get way more risk-averse.  I'll play it safe make the careful moves, and try not to lose any more sats and  it's all about finding that sweet spot between being bold and being smart with your money.  You gotta strike while the iron is hot but also protect your investment when things are bearish.

Once again, Jamal Musiala the German player of Bayern Munich got injured and he can't play for him for a while.
In the match between Galatasaray and Bayern Munich, in the first half and after 39 minutes against Galatasaray, Jamal Musiala got injured and he couldn't continue the game.
During this season Bayern Munich had many injured players and it was challenging for Tuchel.
This year, Bayern Munich lost many injured players. The absence of these injured players hit them hard. Musiala was one of these players. He is a very useful player, but I worry that these injuries may constantly reduce his performance. I hope he doesn't stay out of the field for a long time as a result of the injury.

Yeah, Bayern Munich can't catch a break this season.  Their injury list has been crazy long.  The first few months it was like every week they were losing another key player for weeks at a time.  Super unlucky.  But to be fair, it's not as bad now as it was early on and  other than Musial being out, there's only 3 guys currently injured - Hülsmann, de Ligt, and Buchmann. Still tough when you have multiple long-term injuries, but at least it's not as many crucial players as before.
619  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League 2023/24 Season on: November 09, 2023, 08:40:23 PM
Liverpool's main problem in this game was with their defense line, the defense was too weak to hold the attackers especially the No.9 Thijs Dallinga who scored the second goal for Toulouse from penetrating the eighteen-yard box and the home base team Toulouse was running through Liverpool's men with such an ease which mounted so much pressure  on Liverpool back men and the goals become much before Liverpool got their consolation goal.

Crap result but looking at the starting lineup it isn’t a surprise. Klopp isn’t taking this competition seriously but the players out there were awful today. Toulouse showed much more desire and deserved to win.

However, the referee and VAR made a terrible decision to disallow a 97th minute equaliser for a handball on the halfway line about 5 phases before the goal was scored. I think that goes against UEFA VAR rules.

That whole thing with the handball was weird.  The ball hit the dude's hand way before Liverpool scored, so we were all just wondering if the ref was gonna call it back or not.  Crazy how long it took them to make the decision! But in the end, as much as it sucked for Liverpool, the ref made the right call.  Even though their players and fans were super pissed and disappointed the handball happened first so the goal didn't count.  It was the right decision, imho.

Scam alert associated with automated rolling on freebitcoin.
<...>

Thanks for the heads-up! Those shady websites try to fool people by using domain names that look similar like the real one.  It's really great that you noticed the differences.  Believing any place that says they'll get you free rolls is super risky and  using bots or anything automatic to get free rolls on freebitco.in breaks their rules for sure, so your account's probably gonna get banned real quick.
