No tomaszsz, it is you that is lying. You have effectively stolen approximately 60% of the payments you were supposed to pay out by freezing payments and retroactively applying a change to the payout system. I don't have a problem with you changing the payout system, but you can't apply the change retroactively. In fact, I believe most miners would expect a notification several days prior to the change taking place. I did keep up with reading your pool's forum and was aware of the discussion to switch payout systems. But that's all it was, a discussion (and a poll). There was never any warning/notification to miners as to when (or if) the change was going to be made. I don't believe anyone ever got a response or answer as to why payments were frozen in the first place. It sounds to me like the intention was there all along to steal from/shortchange miners when you froze payments. With more and more of these small pools dwindling away into the sunset, it becomes even more important for miners to ensure that they mine with a trustworthy pool. Your pool should be relegated to the junkyard heap of pools such as bitclockers that have stolen from their members. Your switch to PPS will bring about your demise rather soon. Good luck with that at your pool's current hash rate. I also find it interesting that you only now decided to reply to this thread, 11 months later. Good bye Polmine and good riddance. Polmine has switched to PPS without notice and applied it retroactive to several blocks without notice. Avoid this pool.
You forgot to mention that this post was addressed only to pool hoppers. Honest folks might get the wrong idea. JoelKatz, both pool hoppers and non-pool hoppers were adversely affected by the retroactive change in the payout system. |

I just released 2.31 final to market. So key import/export is now available to everyone. Well mostly everyone. I had to raise the minimum requirement to Froyo (Android 2.2) and above.

Since Tom is refusing to actually make the bet he himself proposed between us, I am offering up a guarantee of 1000 BTC to charity (I will take suggestions on which charity to donate this to) if BFL does not meet it's power claims within 10% - meaning if BFL's power consumption is more than 66w for a Single SC, we lose the "bet."
Now, I ask if Tom is willing to step up and back the winning side. He is 100% confident that we will not meet our power claims (which is the genesis of the failed bet), and as such I ask that he pony up 1000 BTC to the same charity if we do make our power claims.
So there it is: Tom is confident that we won't make our power claims, I am confident that we will. I am willing to put up 1000 BTC to show my confidence in BFL products. Is Tom confident enough to do the same or is he just blowing hot air?

That's an easy question to answer, Tom. Because you are lying to your customers. More specifically, you lied about BFL's power and I called you out. You are also lying about being "competitive*" If you had not lied, I wouldn't be here... but there you have it.
Please, prove me wrong, Tom. Tell us what your "competitive" power is likely to be. While you're at it, please show figures as to how you know BFL's power is impossible.
* For any reasonable value of "competitive"

The biggest concern of mine is not electricity use if it remains within a certain range. What concerned me the most is what was the safe operating temperature for the mining hardware.
Winter is coming to the northern Hemisphere. So the heat put out by these devices will not be noticable if BFL or bASIC ships out in the next 2 to 3 months. But after Febuary, if one of these devices has to be cooled with Air Conditioning, then that would make a big dent in the profit margin. It would have been a deal breaker to add 1 to 2 kilowatts of power consumption during the following spring, summer and fall. As well as affect the reliability of the device.
Thank you for your recent answers on your mining device. That helped me understand that you have taken this into account and have designed safety features (well BFL_Engineer did at least) so that the device would not suffer from a heat related issue.
Those of us coming into summer will have this well tested before your summer rolls around  (assuming delivery before your summer)  People in Australia mine bitcoins? and have ordered ASICs??  What is this world coming to!!! |
