602  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: High Efficiency FPGA & ASIC Bitcoin Mining Devices https://BTCFPGA.com on: October 23, 2012, 02:08:32 AM
I hope you do this as I'm pretty sure he edited a post earlier in this thread, although I have no proof. Apparently he has issues with this in the past...

Yep, there it is.  I love when people accuse me of this, because you look like such a dolt when I explain that you can see when a post was edited last if you use the default forum skin... and just like the last dolt who accused me of this, you are also full of so much fail. Sad

I was wondering why I couldn't see edits when I was using the default forum skin, but I didn't have time until tonight to figure it out.

Do not use the Forum or Board Default, which is what 67k people are using.  That is the Bitcoin Theme without last edits.  Use the SMF Default Theme - Core, which is the default theme that came with the forum software.  Only 30 people are using this theme.

603  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Polmine-Switches to PPS without notice and docks miners of several solved blocks on: October 23, 2012, 01:42:28 AM
I just want to say that all above informations is not true, and in fact are lies !

No tomaszsz, it is you that is lying.
You have effectively stolen approximately 60% of the payments you were supposed to pay out by freezing payments and retroactively applying a change to the payout system.  I don't have a problem with you changing the payout system, but you can't apply the change retroactively.  In fact, I believe most miners would expect a notification several days prior to the change taking place.  I did keep up with reading your pool's forum and was aware of the discussion to switch payout systems.  But that's all it was, a discussion (and a poll).  There was never any warning/notification to miners as to when (or if) the change was going to be made.

I don't believe anyone ever got a response or answer as to why payments were frozen in the first place.  It sounds to me like the intention was there all along to steal from/shortchange miners when you froze payments.

With more and more of these small pools dwindling away into the sunset, it becomes even more important for miners to ensure that they mine with a trustworthy pool.  Your pool should be relegated to the junkyard heap of pools such as bitclockers that have stolen from their members. Your switch to PPS will bring about your demise rather soon.  Good luck with that at your pool's current hash rate.

I also find it interesting that you only now decided to reply to this thread,  11 months later.

Good bye Polmine and good riddance.

Polmine has switched to PPS without notice and applied it retroactive to several blocks without notice. Avoid this pool.
You forgot to mention that this post was addressed only to pool hoppers. Honest folks might get the wrong idea.

JoelKatz,  both pool hoppers and non-pool hoppers were adversely affected by the retroactive change in the payout system.
604  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Bitcoin Wallet for Android on: October 22, 2012, 03:31:30 AM
I just released 2.31 final to market. So key import/export is now available to everyone. Well mostly everyone. I had to raise the minimum requirement to Froyo (Android 2.2) and above.

Andreas, thanks for the updates!
605  Economy / Services / Re: GPUMAX | The Bitcoin Mining Marketplace on: October 21, 2012, 07:05:48 PM
I'm sure people who use this got the email last night, but since it wasn't mentioned on here,

Quote
Dear User,

We regret to inform you that GPUMAX will be permanently closing on
October 31st, 2012.

While we strongly believe in Bitcoin's continued success, our vision
has always been to provide our users with the greatest opportunities
to utilize their GPU processing power. Creating a mining marketplace
was meant to be the first of many such opportunities, however, due to
the events of recent months, we feel that the best course of action is
to cease all operations.

Thank you for participating in our beta.

Regards,

The GPUMAX Team

[21:59] <@[\\\]> how come they say they are from support@gpumax.co ?
[21:59] <@zux0r> it's the domain I actually have complete control over

That email came from gpumax.co, not gpumax.com lol
I would say it's a fake to try and get people to ditch gpumax and join that hashpower.com site.

607  Other / Off-topic / Re: BFL offers 1000 BTC back up on power claims on: October 20, 2012, 04:30:31 PM
Since Tom is refusing to actually make the bet he himself proposed between us, I am offering up a guarantee of 1000 BTC to charity (I will take suggestions on which charity to donate this to) if BFL does not meet it's power claims within 10% - meaning if BFL's power consumption is more than 66w for a Single SC, we lose the "bet."

Now, I ask if Tom is willing to step up and back the winning side.  He is 100% confident that we will not meet our power claims (which is the genesis of the failed bet), and as such I ask that he pony up 1000 BTC to the same charity if we do make our power claims.

So there it is:  Tom is confident that we won't make our power claims, I am confident that we will.  I am willing to put up 1000 BTC to show my confidence in BFL products.  Is Tom confident enough to do the same or is he just blowing hot air?

Wait.. wut?

Subject line says: "BFL offers 1000 BTC back up on power claims"
Is BFL backing this bet?
You are posting as Inaba.  I thought the bet was between you and Tom, not between BFL and Tom.
Shouldn't you be posting as BFL_Josh?

608  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: High Efficiency FPGA & ASIC Bitcoin Mining Devices https://BTCFPGA.com on: October 20, 2012, 04:18:15 PM
That's an easy question to answer, Tom.  Because you are lying to your customers.  More specifically, you lied about BFL's power and I called you out.  You are also lying about being "competitive*"  If you had not lied, I wouldn't be here... but there you have it.

Please, prove me wrong, Tom.  Tell us what your "competitive" power is likely to be. While you're at it, please show figures as to how you know BFL's power is impossible.

* For any reasonable value of "competitive"

After this recent spate of BFL "customer service" I'm glad I dumped my BFL preorders on some poor saps and loaded up on the bASIC.  BFL has time to troll competitor's threads but not respond to customer emails?  Good riddance BFL.  How's that response from Sonny coming along?  Any day now right?
609  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: High Efficiency FPGA & ASIC Bitcoin Mining Devices https://BTCFPGA.com on: October 20, 2012, 04:14:02 PM
Haha good job sweeping that pesky "power" issue under the rug, Tom!  Maybe you can keep your dirty little power problem a secret long enough to gain a few more pre-orders before the secret comes out.  Smiley  WTG for transparency.

I also notice you squeaked your way out of the bet, too.  Quality work there!  Won't even back up the bet YOU tried to initiate for charity.

Attitude like this that makes BFL stink. Rotten to the core...

That's probably what "customer service" means over at BFL
610  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: High Efficiency FPGA & ASIC Bitcoin Mining Devices https://BTCFPGA.com on: October 19, 2012, 03:00:07 AM

[SNIP]
Inaba, I will personally bet you 1000 BTC that BFL's line of ASIC devices will consume more electricity than 1.1 watt per 1Gh/s of Bitcoin mining speed.
( .1 or (10%) to compensate for that power subsystem optimization)

612  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: High Efficiency FPGA & ASIC Bitcoin Mining Devices https://BTCFPGA.com on: October 18, 2012, 12:04:46 AM
@ BFL_Josh (Inaba)

The biggest concern of mine is not electricity use if it remains within a certain range. What concerned me the most is what was the safe operating temperature for the mining hardware.

Winter is coming to the northern Hemisphere. So the heat put out by these devices will not be noticable if BFL or bASIC ships out in the next 2 to 3 months. But after Febuary, if one of these devices has to be cooled with Air Conditioning, then that would make a big dent in the profit margin. It would have been a deal breaker to add 1 to 2 kilowatts of power consumption during the following spring, summer and fall. As well as affect the reliability of the device.

Thank you for your recent answers on your mining device. That helped me understand that you have taken this into account and have designed safety features (well BFL_Engineer did at least) so that the device would not suffer from a heat related issue.

Those of us coming into summer will have this well tested before your summer rolls around Wink
(assuming delivery before your summer) Tongue

People in Australia mine bitcoins? and have ordered ASICs??  Shocked Shocked Shocked

What is this world coming to!!!

I've come to an agreement with Gomeler as follows:

Seller to ship the following:

Rig 1
3x Sapphire HD 5850s
2x Sapphire HD 5830
AMD Sempron 145
MSI 890FX GD70
1x2GB DDR3-1333C9
SILVERSTONE ST1000 1000W ATX12V
250GB 2.5" HDD
2 PCIe extenders

Rig 2
5x Sapphire HD 5830s
AMD Sempron 145
MSI 890FX GD70
1x2GB DDR3-1333C9
250GB 2.5" HDD
2 PCIe extenders

Extras
5 pieces x16->x16 PCIe riser cables

Buyer offers $1140
BTC conversion rate will be Mt.Gox last at time of transfer to escrow agent.
Seller is responsible for all shipping costs.
Deal to be escrowed via Graet (ozcoin pool operator) as escrow agent.
Rigs will be tested by buyer when received to ensure that rigs are able to mine at standard engine clock rates.
Escrow agent to release funds to seller "Gomeler" upon buyer satisfied with condition of rigs, not to exceed 10 hours after receipt by buyer.

I'll transfer funds to escrow as soon as Gomeler and Graet witnesses and Graet sends me an escrow addy.

Thanks.

Bump

Edit: Updated transaction requirements, added US shipping, added BTC sweetener, added images, delete image from bfl

You might have problems doing this deal without using escrow.  Not sure how reversible PopMoney is, if you fail to ship anything.  Huh

Der, should I pay a fee or not.. Der dee der...
Put another way, do you want to pay a small fee to support the pool and get paid transaction fees or pay no fee and not get paid transaction fees (and potentially lose the pool in the future)?
