921  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: ATI 6950 fan is struggling (stop-starting)? on: August 31, 2011, 02:28:09 PM
sounds like your fan is failing
might want to look into replacing it before it completely locks up

923  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Why would you mine with anything BUT a PPS pool? on: August 31, 2011, 12:56:49 AM
I've started mining at rfcpool which just switched to PPLNS with 0% fee. I've checked out quite a few pools and to be honest, this site looks like it's run by someone that knows what they are doing. The coders hang out in their irc channel, which is a plus.

With stock voltage i can set 965/320, after this i got blue screen. (Amd Gpu Clock Tool)

Anyone got more?

OS: W7 Ultimate 32bits
11.7

1030/300 at stock. Visiontek non-reference on Linux. 475GH/s, very stable for 3 weeks now.

I dont understand. I leave the fan speed to manual (80%), keeps the temperature at 55-60 degrees, and yet if I go over the 965mhz coreclock I get blue screen.

Any idea what causes this?

Luck? or unluckiness?
Not all gpus are able to be OC similiarly
926  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: MULTIPLE RIGS on: August 30, 2011, 02:11:42 PM
Hi everyone!

How do you setup multiple mining rigs with only 1 keyboard and 1 mouse?

Can all the rigs be networked together?

Is "logmein" a better solution?

thanks!

I use teamviewer once i have the rig setup and running.

OP's post reminds me of another I've seen on forums, goes something like this:

"No gym for home, work out floor with 30, but is it for 20 like 30 lb when you no lift it to be for men, for 30 lbs instead? or half is 10 for 20 pounds?"
929  Other / Off-topic / Re: Can some one please tell me why people watch jersey shore? on: August 28, 2011, 03:51:06 PM
So i finnally gave it a try and just watched a whole episode.... Its like they made a show about chimpanzees with no hair and live in human housing who are also exempt from the "animals not allowed" signs.

Your thoughts community?

people like watching hairless chimps?
930  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Why would you mine with anything BUT a PPS pool? on: August 28, 2011, 03:39:16 PM
..

I don't advice mining pure PPS pools because sooner or later they will not pay their last round(s) because they were too unlucky...

if you are willing to risk one day's worth of payout not a big deal.  Just make sure you get a daily auto payout
931  Economy / Goods / Re: What's Better Than a 6990? Bitcoin KEYCHAINS have arrived! BUY BUY BUY!!! on: August 28, 2011, 03:27:46 PM
looks good.  I'd be interested in a metal one as well.
932  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: client 2 stops working on: August 28, 2011, 02:17:39 AM
Strange issue that started a few days ago. I mine all night and at some point through the night, one client/card stops mining. It stays on the shot where it's generating xxxmh/s and shows the shares and rejected but does not update. On the pool side, I only see half of the mh/s I normally get so I know the card is not working.

All settings are the same as they've always been, just started a few days ago and has been fine for weeks.

Any ideas?

1040/300 is the clock. xfx 5830

1040 is quite overclocked for a 5830.  The most ive been able to get out of a 5830 is 1020, with some not being able to stay stable unless they are at 950 or less.
933  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: 11.7 driver BSOD on: August 28, 2011, 02:16:10 AM
i quit down clocking memory to 280 and leave it at 600 and i dont any more bsods

yep.. downclocking memory gives me a bunch of headaches on 5850s.  Since the cards run pretty cool, i just leave mem at stock.
934  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Sapphire TRIXX Command Line/Automation on: August 28, 2011, 01:56:34 AM
why do you need a command line?

TRIXX has a tick box that automatically sets clocks and fan on boot and/or startup. works with my 5830 and xp pro rig.

or am I missing something?

it doesn't work well at all with multi-gpu setups

I'm done mining here.  I submitted something like 15000 shares according to my miners and nothing has shown up in my account. gonna try rfcpool for a bit and see how that works out.

You got any better ideas :p Wink
937  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Cant overclock x5 5850 Rig on: August 26, 2011, 03:20:10 PM
Some 5850 don't like having their memclocks downclocked too much.  Took me a while to figure this out, since I was used to setting memclock on my 5830s to 325.  My 5850s don't like anything less than 550.
938  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: OC'd video cards at ~70% fans for 9+ months sustainable? on: August 26, 2011, 03:18:34 PM
I run mine at about 85%.  I see no diff in temps raising fan speeds about that.
