Could a couple of people post what type of thumb drives they've gotten to work with BAMT? I'm on my fourth thumb drive on two different systems and still no love.
cheapest possible no-name usbs i can find locally that have a lifetime warranty. always keep image backups and extra usbs laying around microcenter.com

Did anyone ever come up with a solution for this error at startup:
startpar: service(s) returned failure: gdm ... failed!
Try creating a new USB stick. If it still occurs, most likely a hardware problem.

$45 for an 8 gig? They're $33 Amazon Prime. I'd also be ok with a 2gig. Its mostly data files I'd be storing.
Ya.. Not worth it for me at least to go thru all the hassle for less than $10. Just trying to help you out.

Man you had one chance you should have taken the 5.2 BTC offer
LOL! I tried! But he never got back to me.

My brain started hurting just reading the title on that thing.

Again, no. Sorry! This is all very tricky and I suggest you read about non-homogenous Poisson processes and the geometric distribution. Variance will increase as the hashrate increases, but it will remain a nearly constant proportion of the hashrate.
Now you're just throwing crazy words out there left and right! Do you realize how much time it would take someone to google all these words? - non-homogenous
- Poisson processes
- geometric distribution
- Variance

You pick anything you want from Home Depot. Pay in BTC. Get it shipped to your house.

I know you said PM, but someone else posted they were interested too. For a single piece, shipped to US, I'd figure on about $45.
what is that for the 16gb? I need one too. No. The topic indicates 8GB

trying to compile avalon/cgminer on an extra linux box i had laying around. using these instructions: http://en.qi-hardware.com/wiki/Avalon#How_to_Compile_Your_Own_WR703N_Firmware_for_Avalonran the first make -j4 result: .... In the wiki: sed -i 's/ck.kolivas.org\/apps\/cgminer\//localhost:8000\//g' openwrt/package/cgminer/Makefile should be: sed -i 's/ck.kolivas.org\/apps\/cgminer\//localhost:8000\//g' package/cgminer/Makefile since you are already in the openwrt directory.

Ok.. thx to K1773R on irc was able to get it sorted out... the wiki i think needs some editing. wiki has: svn co svn://svn.openwrt.org/openwrt/trunk@35097 openwrt with a "link" icon thingy after the 35097. I stopped after the 35097 and the openwrt folder was never created.

Let us know how it goes The troublesome unit ran with a RaspberryPi all night and had no issues that I could see. I don't have a hashrate grapher set up yet, but there were no errors displayed by cgminer, and the average hashrate was a sold 66 GH/s. I then reconnected it to the TP-Link and let that run for half an hour. Same problems. So it's most likely a bad TP-Link. She's back on the RaspberryPi, and I'll just keep it there. I may even connect all the Avalons to the RasPi and/or BeagleBone Black. Thanks to the little holes in the Avalon's case, it's easy to bring out the USB cable and still have the case closed. So now I'm porting over all the misc. Avalon scripts to the RasPi, and looking around for a useful web interface so I can get quick stats without ssh-ing in all the time. fpgaminer, great news! I've tried building cgminer for avalon on a spare linux box i had laying around. Tried following these instructions: http://en.qi-hardware.com/wiki/Avalon#How_to_Compile_Your_Own_WR703N_Firmware_for_AvalonWhen i get to: cp -R cgminer-openwrt-packages/cgminer openwrt/package i get the following error: root@ubuntu:~/avalon# cp -R cgminer-openwrt-packages/cgminer openwrt/package cp: cannot create directory `openwrt/package': No such file or directory Any help? Anyone? TIA.

These things are not very profitable compared to a normal video card. The ROI on a video card is normally 2 months.
If you factor in electrical costs, it's more-than-likely a wash. I agree they are a little bit on the pricey side, but not egregiously so considering this is a first gen device. Hmm. Something is wrong with this picture. For $400 you can get a 7970 that can easily get 600mh/s with a lot of power drain. For $400 you can get two of these that gets the same with a fraction of the power drain. How is a GPU ROI faster? M IMO, the residual value of the 7970s is higher than that of the Block Erupter USBs.
