I agree regarding your issues with Bitstamp. I don't know how much further it spreads. Don't use Bitstamp. They are currently not performing USD fiat withdrawals. I recently had a fan go out on my AntMiner S4. Upon reading the following article, I ordered Delta PFC1212DE fans as a replacement. https://bitmain.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/204199879-Antminer-S4-fan-specification-and-possible-replacement-fansI replaced the front and back fans, closest to the PSU. The colour of the wires were not the same on the old and new fans. They both had red, black, and blue which I connected together. The 4th wire on the old fan is white which I connected to a yellow wire on the new fan. Now when I turn the S4 on, the old fans power up as normal, but the new fans only come on for a few seconds and then shut off. The S4 will run for a while before stutting down due to overheating. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Tom Travis On Delta pinout is as follows: Black -> GND Red -> +12V Yellow -> RPM sense wire. Blue -> PWM control wire. I am not sure for pinout on original S4 fan but I would say that you did it correctly. It could be they are too strong but they should work.   |

I don't believe this statement is true Bitmain dropped 10 points when I became involved with them. Canaan Creative dropped 3 points. Spondoolies' rating has risen over the same period, even with the problems of under performing SP30 preorders. I don't have a proof, but I think you know some stuff about Bitmain ethics which you refrain from taking into account. I can't reveal what it is. Spondoolies-Tech, I have nothing against you or Bitmain, but when I see stuff like this mentioned, or when I hear Bitmain say stuff like "We know things but we can't say", it reinforces my view that ASIC manufacturing has become nothing more that a classic old boy's network/oligopoly/OPEC of bitcoin and it annoys the shit out of me. A fantastic idea and technology that Satoshi had has been reduced to ASIC manufacturers careful treading, patting each other on the back, and refusing to whistleblow on each other. To an outsider, it seems like a careful pact has been formed which excludes the community from information they should have. It's the bitcoin community that placed you where you are now, and it's this same community's face you spit in when you refuse to share information you have regarding other ASIC manufacturers' business practices. I only wish information flow regarding bitcoin would be as open as the blockchain. |

yes.. anything under 70C is pretty good. Are you sure it's hashing at 55C?  What's your ambient? |

So I'm a newb when it comes to overclocking... I'm in canada so we have 120v outlets, what's the safest max I should overclock to? (Could, maybe not should)..
You shouldn't, the stock PSU can't even handle running stock. You should also consider installing a 240V outlet if you have a few miners. This information is incorrect. I have been able to overclock to 212.5 100% of the time with no issues whatsover on stock PSU running on 110V. Yielding about a 5.5% increase in hashrate. A majority of the units I have experience with, will overclock at 225M with no problems. Just make sure your ambient temp is cool enough to keep the S4 at sub 65C temps. If you can't keep temps cool enough you will start loosing chips and they'll show up with X or completely missing from the status. |

True dat!  I have to assume neither of you understand that the pool must estimate the pool's hashrate via a calculation, right? hashes = shares * share_diff * 2**48 / 65535 so: MH/s = shares/sec * share_diff * 4295 So if a pool's miner's are lucky and are able to find a share to submit by calculating less hashes than would normally be expected, the pool's hashrate appears to be higher than it actually is. |
