If there is a improvement, I think it will be more on Wemby as it's obvious that he is a work in progress and being experiment by the great coach Pop. And if I'm not mistaken, in the first 5-6 games he was just used sparingly, maybe trying to avoid the kid from getting injured.

And although he is great, he is still raw as you watch him play. That's one advantage of him though, he can and will developed in the next couple of years and he will really be look scary. Both Chet and Wemby has a lot of potential but it will be a very close race for the ROY.

I disagree with that. In my opinion, Coach Pop isn't the kind of coach to put all the team's focus on one player leading the charge. No doubt, Wemby's got talent, but this squad should stick to the old-school Spurs style – solid defense and lots of players getting in the mix. The Spurs hit their peak, at least from what I recall, during the Duncan, Parker, and Manu era. When Leonard joined, things got even better. Not sure if we'll witness the Spurs in that prime situation again.
602  Economy / Economics / Re: Imaginary Future on: November 23, 2023, 08:48:00 PM
Absolutely. Future is uncertain, so it is better to start saving as soon as possible, just in case. I see how friends of mine spend all the money they earn every month because they "don't work all day to want something and not buy it", but I'm happy valuing immaterial things, and trying to achieve financial freedom someday.

In the end you end up liking the stoic taste taken in the act of holding back yourself and saving or investing instead of spending. Dreaming with future promises is something very pleasurable too.

It's true Future is uncertain. Saving and investing provide a solid foundation to face future challenges and the arguments you convey are quite wise, which requires the key to sound financial management to support long-term financial goals and the fact is that most of us, when we have a little excess fortune, always forget ourselves. as if this is no longer needed even though life still has a long journey
But is it good to be too frugal, only thinking about the future and forgetting about the present? What is the future, is it tomorrow? And if we only think about tomorrow, does that mean we will always worry about it until we die? What is financial freedom? Because human greed has no bottom, once we have it, we want bigger things and if we keep doing that, when will we stop to enjoy life? To me, the future is something that needs to be carefully prepared, but don't neglect the present, we need to balance our lives instead of just thinking one way.
Being frugal lets you save for your future, but I don't think you need to be frugal all the time until you become deprived of your wants and needs. That is living your life the wrong way. Although you're going to maximize your savings in the future, but it will also compromise your current happiness which I think is not healthy anymore. Sometimes, you need to live life without worrying the future and just enjoy everything what life has to offer. You don't need to be very obsessed of what will be your future, you don't even know if you are still able to live your future, right?

Live and enjoy your life, no if's and but's. Be grateful of what you have and even to what you don't have. That's the only way to live your life happy and stress free.
603  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Some traps to avoid in bullrun. on: November 23, 2023, 07:58:03 PM
I think one of the common mistakes people make during a bull run is that they make investments just because they are afraid of missing out. In these times, the media is super hyped about Bitcoin, crypto “experts” and analyst come up with some price prediction to trigger more people into buying. It’s becomes even worse when newbies buy random altcoins in hopes of making x10 their investment.

This is terrible when you consider random altcoins for your crypto investment. Instead of seeing your profits grow after bull run, you might end up wasting all your capital seeing those altcoins dropping their prices suddenly and are not even sure if they can still recover or not. That's what we get if we ride the FOMO and just jump into altcoins because they're cheap and promising, instead of focusing into bitcoin despite of its high, expensive price.

However, only those newbies who are still inexperienced of the market only do that. The reason why these newbies are susceptible to losses because aside that they enter the market wrongly, they chose to invest in wrong coins also that made them lose their capital in such a short period of time.
604  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I want to fulfill my mother's dream of building a house with Bitcoin. on: November 22, 2023, 09:29:25 PM
You know, that is always possible with bitcoin. Make sure you have a solid plan on your bitcoin investment and create a long term preparation for trading, eventually you will achieve your goals in time. My only advice is to stay patient while understanding the market. You won't be successful with bitcoin if you act impulsive on decision making, you will only fail in the end.

Bitcoin is certainly a tool for financial growth and stability in the future. However, the path to achieve that is never smooth but rocky and that makes bitcoin more challenging. But if you are really determined to build your mother her dream house, then work hard for it and never easily quit even if you are in the verge of losing. Bitcoin has its own inevitable losses and that's fine. What's important is you learn to outgrew your profits more than losses, so stick to your goal and focus on your plan.
605  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING]Adrien Broner vs Chris Howard (Welterweight) Nov 4. . on: November 22, 2023, 02:13:06 PM

So, it seems the reported injury might just be a convenient excuse because he doesn't find the fight appealing or has had a change of heart. What's going on with him, asking for a championship fight when he's at the bottom of the standings? It's like he's lost touch with reality or forgotten his current rank.

I get that he's into big fights, but he doesn't get to dictate how matchups are created. If he can't adhere to the rules of professional boxing regarding fights, maybe he should consider retiring and going for exhibition fights. With his skills in trashatalking, he's sure to draw a massive audience, and it could be a way to stay in the limelight even not in the professional sports of boxing.

Broner thinks that he can just demand a title shot at this point of his career, he has fought nobody after he lost to Manny Pacquiao, his career is clearly sliding and he is cherry-picking fights because he knows he cannot keep up with the top boxers in this generation, the trust is he is asking for the title because he just wants to make money before he exits in boxing and of course unless he did not get knock out he will still insist that he won the fight.
This is the kind of boxer who stays too long in boxing and cannot admit that his glory days are over, and with Broner's lifestyle he just wants more money, he is like Mayweather, a big spender who wants to flaunt his money.

Yeah, but unfortunately he doesn't have the skills and talent of Mayweather, so he would likely end up bankrupt because he wasn't able to manage his finances effectively. And I believe he had some lawsuits that probably requires more money for him to stay free for now. So we can see how desperate he is to have a big fight for a bigger payday.

I think it's better for this thread to be locked because the fight will not happen.

With the latest development, I think it's the right thing to do.

Thank you everyone for participating in the discussion. Thread is closed now.
606  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING]Adrien Broner vs Chris Howard (Welterweight) Nov 4. . on: November 22, 2023, 05:02:22 AM
For the latest update on this fight

Adrien Broner withdraws from December 2nd return with hand injury

The funny thing is Broner wants to come back in February with a title shot when he only fought twice in five years

Quote
“The hell with tune-up fights,” said Broner. I’m ready to take on any of the champions in the 140- and 147-pound division. I’m ready to fight the big guys. Everything they think I don’t have, I still got. I’m ready to fight Ryan Garcia or, Rolando Romero or the winner of the Regis Prograis—Devin Haney fight.”

Broner is insane to think that he deserves to have a title shot, promoters want fighters who can attract PPV and gate sales and Broner unfortunately does not have it anymore unless he beats top names in the division then people will take him seriously.

I do agree, no top boxers or at least the regular champion will give him a chance to fight for their belt. He is low risk low reward right now. We have Haney, Lopez, Prograis, Ryan Garcia and others that are in the top of their game.

He might do good against Rolly Romero, two loud mouth boxers, but the same though, even if Romero wins, he will be criticized for fighting a wash up boxer.

Maybe what Broner can do is just fight any fighters not name those mentioned above, not for the belt but just for the paycheck as we all know that he is already in the sunset of his career and just be fighting to make as much money as he can before he can retire.

607  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have You At Any Point In Time Blame Who Taught Or Led You To Gambling? on: November 22, 2023, 04:22:41 AM
Even if someone were to introduce gambling to me, I would never blame that person. Holding others responsible for our choice to gamble and the subsequent losses is an act of irresponsibility and a sign of immaturity. The mere fact that we choose to engage in gambling indicates our awareness of the risks and our willingness to accept them. Blaming someone else is senseless; it reflects our reluctance to acknowledge our own failures or losses.
608  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin vs Altcoins on: November 21, 2023, 09:34:22 PM
Be careful if you want to use altcoins for investment or trading. Usually, altcoins that are new to the market will get the pump. After that, the price will experience a correction and some altcoins will even drop drastically from their presale prices. If you want to get into altcoins, you can wait until the price drops drastically. But you need to find more information about why you chose that coin.

Exactly, Private investors including the team itself will surely dump their bag one the token price hit the ceiling for growth. I rarely invest on new coin that shows volatility since it’s very hard to recover your loss once you left behind after the hype is over. That’s why sticking to basic which is investing majorly on Bitcoin is the best choice since it always recovers no matter how downfall it goes unlike other shitcoins that never recover even for many years of waiting.
The truth is, with altcoins it's always hard to recover its price once that price has dropped so deeply. You might wait for couple of months or years to see it recovering but majority still end up as dead coins except for those established altcoins in the market that sustain their position in the market cap. That is why instead of wasting your time and money for altcoins, why not focus on bitcoin and expect bigger chances of profiting despite of its high volatility. Well, volatility is the obvious reason why a lot of us are hitting huge profits in bitcoin and keeps the excitement when investing in bitcoin.

However, diversifying bitcoin with established altcoins in the market is also a good option. But never put some high expectations on these altcoins since the risk to lose is still high compared to bitcoin.
609  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: November 21, 2023, 01:25:05 PM

Justice was served. The league had to make a strong decision to keep the fans from being disappointed and to protect the reputation of the league, which has taken hits in the past due to similar incidents involving inaccurate referee calls or non-calls. They can't just let this slide, especially when the team involved is the most popular one. They'll scrutinize it closely, and fans won't easily forget about it.

Suspension, but they'll return again. Grin I'm sure this will happen again in the future, and people will once more speculate that the PBA is rigged.

Hahaha, indeed right, but hopefully with so many available referees better to replace them instead of suspending and let them do things again, I hate to add my opinion but it looks like PBA is really duplicating th NBA hahaha Refs are now being involve with game fixing/rigging hahaha..

If game fixing is indeed occurring within the league, simply suspending or replacing a referee might not be enough to ensure a clean game. If the instructions are coming from higher up, the sanctions given could be a way to make it seem like the league is taking action against any appearance of rigging. However, without concrete proof, these concerns will likely remain as speculation.

Anyway, enough about that—justice is served, so no more further discussion. Tomorrow, we have two games on the line:

1st game: DYIP vs TNT
2nd game: Northport vs NLEX

The bolded name of teams are my picks; I'm doing a parlay. Good luck!

I like both your picks and if by chance I also have that spare coins I will follow you with your parlay. Good Luck Kabayan!

The total odds for that parlay being 1.74 seem interesting. It's a bit puzzling why DYIP is a heavy underdog after a big win, especially when TNT is only at 1.14 on the moneyline against DYIP. Perhaps it's due to the reputation of DYIP, suggesting they might not be consistent in winning? It's worth considering that TNTis still undermanned, so a surprise is possible, but that's just my speculation. Personally, I also like the pick; it seems almost too easy. Good luck!

Of course, anything can happen, but my bet is just best on the result of my very simple analysis, two strong teams playing a respective game against weaker teams, it's already automatic to bet on the strong teams, that's why this parlay came up.

We've got a doubleheader today with some powerhouse teams hitting the court.

First up, it's Bolts vs. SMB in the opening game, followed by Ginebra taking on Magnolia in the second match.

I'm rooting for SMB in the first game because I want to see them shake off that disappointing loss from their last outing. And in the second game, I'm putting my money on Ginebra to put a halt to Magnolia's winning streak.

As for the odds in the first game, SMB is favored by -5 with 1.46 ML odds for the win.

Great catch as SMB won the game with a 10 point deficit, both ML and handicap were covered, congrats to all those who bet on them. I did not watch the game just check the score card and I noticed that TRX already made his presence with 2 points on his debut game, playing minutes according to the stats he got 12mins while TR7 only got more than 10 minutes with 9 points not sure why TR7 got that limited game time again, hope he's doing well and no major injury that will sideline him.

They might be experimenting, or it's possible that Romeo is still under a minute restriction. He played a bunch of minutes in the first game, so my wild guess is they trimmed it down a bit in the second game. Haha, just speculating here. But hey, a win is a win, and they've shown they're a strong team by beating Meralco by double digits.

Meanwhile, in the Ginebra vs. Magnolia game, Ginebra had a big lead that's now down to just 7 points in the 4th quarter. This game has become interesting now.
612  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 19, 2023, 11:27:58 AM
It turns out Curry was playing; I thought he'd be out due to injury, so that was a surprise. It's a positive for the Warriors since they really need a win. However, the familiar story unfolds, they struggle to protect their lead, failing to contain OKC's big 3rd quarter run. Three quarters down, and the Warriors are only ahead by 2 points going into the fourth. Let's see if the Warriors can pull this off.

What a sequence in the 4th quarter! I thought the Warriors had it in the bag when Wiggins nailed that 3-point shot and there was only 1 second left. But, hold up! OKC called a timeout, set up a play for Chet, and he sank a tying 3-point shot. Darn, we're heading to overtime now. The Warriors are still at risk of losing. This game is intense! Grin

This game made my day after also winning my bets on Milwaukee over Dallas. It's another solid victory by the young Thunder in San Francisco. Tough game but very exciting. Rookie, Chet Holmgren with a buzzer-beater in less than a minute. I still thought GSW's experience would play a crucial role in the overtime but they ended without shots in their last attempts.

OKC has a bright future. And they might even end in the top 4 in the Western Conference this season. And they still have a lot of future draft picks that can supplement the team or support future movements when necessary. So I don't know why someone considers OKC offering first-round drafts in order for Lebron's struggling Lakers to make another super-team.  Cheesy

Chet seems to have the upper hand over Wemby in the competition lately. Chet's been stepping up his game consistently, while Wemby's performance has been on a bit of a decline, and his team has been facing some struggles too. In that game, the Warriors had a real chance to win, but it slipped away. If Chet hadn't nailed that last shot, the Warriors would've been celebrating, breaking their losing streak.

I think the Warriors are holding up fine, and I was impressed with what Wiggins have showed in that match. He hit his season high with 31 points, and his shot selection was on point, going 12 for 19.

Looking ahead, the Warriors are gearing up to host the Rockets in their next game. Should be interesting!

The winner is Sheynnis Palacios from Nicaragua, and the odds was +1200. Lucky for those who spotted it right!

I actually stopped watching the show when the Philippines wasn't included in the top 5. She got a lot of awards, so it's surprising that she wasn't part of the top 5. I thought she'd perform better in the Q and A part. The odds could have been better than the winner, which is at +1400.

Exciting matchup ahead – Dallas vs. Bucks. The home team is a -2 favorite, and I'm thinking of placing a small bet on it. I've got the home team at -2 because I believe Irving and Giannis have figured out how to make their tandem effective.
Congratulations on this win, the 4th quarter big run by the Bucks lead to this big win. Giannis was really unstoppable which finishes with 37 points.

Also, considering a second bet on the Warriors Money Line! No Curry and Green, I'm fading the public.

Warriors are at risk of losing now, they better hold strong in the 4th quarter as they gave up their 18 points lead.
Steph played because he was desperate in helping his team, hopefully the decision he made is right.
616  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How did you overcome the hurdles and gain confidence to trade as a Newbie? on: November 18, 2023, 09:43:51 PM
Trading is really hard but with the help of research and market exposure on the trading scenario, my passion to trade has more developed. With the help of demo trading, I was able to establish a concept of my own with regards to trading and how to trade successfully in such a high volatile market. Although beginning to trade is always the hardest, but because I was able to gain confidence through research and honing some skills, then I was able to overcome the hurdles in trading wherein other traders would only prefer to leave the market and quit, and just stick to bitcoin long term hodling.

However, even if you have the confidence to trade, that is not enough guarantee that you will be free from errors and losses. In fact, the more you gained losses in the market, the bigger the chance your confidence becomes more firm and established.
617  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin vs Altcoins on: November 18, 2023, 09:10:03 PM
As we look forward to the anticipated bullrun come 2024, what altcoins are you holding and why do you think they will bring more returns compared to others?
I think that you are new in the cryptospace and that is why you are thinking of altcoins and not bitcoin. For your information, altcoins are shitcoins are they are not worth to invest in because they will end up disappointing their investors. One thing that you should know is that looking for quick profit is what will make you run at big loss since altcoins were created to scam their victims. So I don't see any altcoin that i will be investing in but only bitcoin because after next year halving bitcoin price will hit a new ATH which makes it a great innovation.
Altcoins have the opportunity to attract new people in the crypto space because of their too good to be true offers that made this people to jump investing without doing initial research on the altcoins they are going to risk their money. Just like you OP, you are currently blinded with these altcoins because of their promising profits in the future. But if you have been investing in the crypto market for long, you will know that altcoins are just the scammers tool to scam the people, bitcoin is the only genuine investment in the market.

I'm not saying in general that altcoins are not worthy to invest as there are few altcoins who are highly established in the market and are certainly hard to break them. But still, they won't serve any guarantee that altcoins are better than bitcoin. Bitcoin is the lifeblood in the crypto market, that reason alone should be your eye opener not to fall on the trap of altcoins.
618  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The people from Bitciontalk are a good company to keep. on: November 18, 2023, 08:27:58 PM
The company you keep has a lot of effect on you. Many Investors who are also forum members would have stopped investing a long time ago or become inconsistent and uncommitted with their investment if they were not in this forum. There is something about being together with people with the same interest you have that I have noticed, their commitment can always motivate you when you feel like giving up, and help you make more stable decisions. Many investors who are not forum members will be finding it difficult to maintain their seriousness to invest regularly because they are doing things on their own. If many of those investors find this forum, it will be very valuable for them.
Surely it is. But I don't think all of the crypto or bitcoin investors have landed into bitcointalk forum and find more motivation to invest. Some are just getting some ideas from their trusted crypto influencers or they are just doing their due diligence to research using their little information about bitcoin. If all of them have discovered bitcointalk forum when they are starting to invest, maybe it will serve as their great guide not to fall quickly on the different scams happening in the crypto market that made them lose their hard-earned money.

However, there's no late in entering the bitcointalk forum. You will still have a lot to learn if you explore the forum diligently and understand the important topics that are raised and discussed. This forum is worth to keep just like the members here are worth our trust and appreciation.

That ROS vs. Phoenix game was a thriller! Do you happen to know the betting odds for it? The ending was intense, especially that last-second sequence. Phoenix got lucky grabbing the ball after Perkins missed the 3-point attempt. They scrambled, and with only 1 second left, ROS fouled Phoenix's import. If ROS had snagged that rebound, who knows, the outcome might have been different. Whatta game!!!!

Import vs Import production, the win goes to the Phoenix.

Williams 29 points
Summers 15 points

That game was a real entertainer. It looks like Coach Yeng's return to his old team might not be a smooth ride. The team has undergone changes, and it's unclear whether his coaching style has kept pace with the new dynamics. With three losses already this season, ROS is yet to secure a win, posing a significant challenge for Coach Yeng in steering the team towards qualifying the quarterfinals.

On another note, Converge is also facing a tough start at 0-3.
That was a solid game unfortunately it didn't favor ROS despite of them playing a good game.
This is a process, and coach Yang should start adjusting because his old strategy might not be applicable anymore, that 0-3 start record is not good at all, if they really want to advanced to the next round then they should start doing something because they will face bigger teams on their next game.

It seems like the import had an off night. Despite being on a three-game losing streak, Summers showed some promising performances in the last two games, scoring 32 points against Northport and 27 points against the Meralco Bolts. Hopefully, there will be more opportunities in the future, and when they start winning, it will be a more consistent trend.

Looking ahead, they have some tough matchups in the next two games, facing Ginebra first and then SMB. The losing streak might increase as it's unlikely they'll win against these two teams which are stronger than the teams that have beaten them.

What do you think about Clarkson's outstanding performance? The dude scored an impressive 37 points against the Suns, probably marking his season high.

He was absolutely on fire not just in this game, but also in the ones before it.

He had some solid shooting, going 14-26, with 5 of those shots coming from beyond the arc. What's even more impressive is that he didn't have a single turnover.

Seems like the Jazz got a good deal with his current salary. Clarkson's proving he's worth more than what he's currently earning.
