621  Economy / Economics / Re: Having a problem a Personal Finance? on: August 31, 2023, 12:56:37 PM
I read several books that talks about personal financial planning, but it just doesn't work for me, and after few years I surf this forum, it doesn't really help me much regarding personal finance, tho it help me get better financially since I got many customer from this forum, lol, there are only one or two financial lesson that I think I can use, most of discussion in this forum are talking about global and macro economy.

I am more interested in the last point, learning from people experience about their financial struggle and how they manage to solve it is more interesting.

Maybe the books you read didn't absorb their content, and you didn't apply it 100%. Or what book are you talking about that you read? Is it a book by Robert Kiyosaki? or other well-known financial authors? Sometimes we humans just love to read, but we lack implementation.

Yes, we are there. Every time we read, we get an idea or knowledge from the experience of other authors, but we don't have it in our minds to do it completely, or sometimes there is still a doubt or question about whether we can apply what we read.

Yep, those are most likely the reason, I didn't mean to say that the book is bad, I just can't apply it to myself  or my financial problem. I only read one book by Robert Kiyosaki 'The Cashflow Quadrant', and to be honest I never finished it. The book I was talking about is 'The Psychology of Money' by Morgan Housel. It mostly talk about how money works, and how the general people preceive money, and why most of them are wrong.
622  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are your reasons for adopting cryptocurrency? on: August 31, 2023, 12:50:48 PM
Well, I think it's not wrong that most of people adopting crypto solely to increase their profit. In my experience as a freelancer compared to other payment method, crypto generally have less fee that reduce the amount of money, not to mention that it also a lot faster and required less process. That make me get more 'profit' meaning I pay less to the third party, and that's the main reason I use crypto.
As a crypto adopter, you should also look at how your government regulates crypto adoption.
If the regulation is only as a commodity you cannot make payments with crypto.

Yes sure, my client mostly is international client, so it's the same as when I accept USD for a payment. But instead of USD I use BTC and some other cryptos. I will still need to swap it to my local fiat and then withdraw it to my bank account so I can use it to buy stuff. I never buy any local goods or service with crypto, no one accepting crypto in here anyway.

624  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to join best bounty and earn money? on: August 30, 2023, 01:33:20 PM
I don't understand there are so many bounty in bounty section. Because a YouTuber made video and I saw. He says make account and than earn money with bounty and I don't have knowledge?

Well, sorry to tell you this but the youtube video that told you to simply make account in this forum and then you can earn some money in bounty is oversimplifying how the forum works. Your new account cant immediately join any bounty, if I am not mistaken minimum rank for Altcoin bounty is Jr. Member and even those bounty mostly will not earn you any money, you need to find 1 or 2 good bounties among dozens of other worthless bounty. It will be easier when you reach Full Member, since you can join some Bitcoin paid campaign/bounty, but the grinding is not easy, and most of people who come here solely to earn money from bounty never reach that required rank, either they got banned or they just getting bored.

626  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Face unlock on bitcoin wallet devices on: August 30, 2023, 11:59:38 AM
If you are talking about iOS 3D Face Id then it's technically safer than fingerprint, the case is different with 2D face ID in most of android phone is not better or in some case it's less secure than fingerprint. But I wouldn't recommend using solely biometric security for any wallet, the biometric data still can be stolen. Use multiple layers of security, Password, App Generated 2FA, email generated 2FA, if a lot of money is stored in a mobile wallet, then I wouldn't hesitate to use all of those security, tho I rarely store many fund in my mobile wallet.
627  Economy / Economics / Re: What did elon do wrong in Twitter on: August 30, 2023, 11:50:12 AM
Elon getting too deep in his own crusade to create the platform that is ideal in his opinion, he doesn't listen to his employee nor his users. Changing the name to X, changing the feature name to Repost, implementing Verified Subscription and a lot of other things. Most of users and the former twitter employees is against that, but he didn't care.

But all that being said, I and probably most of other people would still use twitter, since the alternative is worse.
628  Economy / Economics / Re: Is market manipulation a common occurrence everywhere? on: August 30, 2023, 11:40:11 AM
USD and other fiat money is definitely manipulated since it's controlled by the government and they need their currency to be in good value. Cryptocurrency, most of altcoins can be easily manipulated since they are mostly centralized, the central hold most of the coins and they can do anything they want with that. Bitcoin is decentralized so it's difficult to be manipulated, not impossible but the very difficult.
629  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Beginners must be needed Local /language sector. on: August 27, 2023, 01:49:14 PM
Analyzing crypto in your own language will be very easy so if you are new to crypto or coming from this forum be sure to be more active on discussion boards in your own language.

There are many high level members who discuss crypto in their own language or this forum. If you follow their discussion carefully you will progress very quickly.

I am sorry but I still don't understand what OP purposes of making this thread,
Are you suggesting that Newbies should only be allowed to post on local board? Or it's merely a suggestion to newbie to browse more frequently on the local board? Or are you suggesting the forum need more local board for newbie?

Anyway, I do agree that local board has helped me so much when the first time I found this forum, my first post in on the local-board, and I am so lucky that the high ranking member on my local board was very friendly.
630  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is DeFi an aging, over-hyped mess or a great thing? on: August 27, 2023, 01:42:20 PM
The first I know about DeFi, I honestly think it was revolutionary, but I know that we can only do so much with DeFi. Then it became overhyped, and then just like what happened to ICO, scammers use the jargon to prey on naive and fomo investors. I still think it was a great trend, it got its time and now it's over. Only the good DeFi project would still survive, and I think that's a good thing.

https://www.cnbcindonesia.com/news/20230822211108-4-465208/pdip-bayangkan-ganjar-anies-bersatu-jadi-koalisi-mengerikan

Saya sih skeptis kalau Anies-Ganjar atau Ganjar-Anies bisa terjadi, tapi kalau memang akan jadi plot-twist paling gak masuk akal selama sejarah politik Indonesia,
632  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: presuring someone into Bitcoin investment on: August 27, 2023, 01:28:02 PM
You shouldn't force anyone to invest their own money on anything. Just introduce them to the project and how the product works, whether they want to put their money or not it shouldn't be forced. Except you want to make up for their loss with your own money. Especially on crypto the market is new compared to other investment, and it's still very volatile, if the person you forced to invest cannot handle the volatility it will be very bad, even life threatening at worst.
633  Local / Ekonomi, Politik, dan Budaya / Re: PNS & ASN on: August 27, 2023, 01:18:05 PM
634  Economy / Economics / Re: China real estate crisis: Buy a house and get a gold bar! No Bitcoin unf! on: August 26, 2023, 02:45:23 PM
- Economic slowdown, deflation on the horizon housing sales have crashed

I am one of not so few people who expect housing market (bubble) to crash, people has been hoarding real-estate property too long, expecting an unreasonably high profit, while the most potential buyer --the younger generation-- does not have enough money to buy those real-estate

- Since house estate developers are unable to cut fixed prices, they offer you a deal, giving you the house cheaper in reality but at the same time keeping the price up techically

It's not a new MO by real-estate dealer, I have seen this since at least 3-4 years ago, this Chinese developer is actually a bit better than my developer, they are offering a car. Not only the value of the car is immediately decreased up to 30% after it got into the consumer hand, but they also give the cheapest car they can find on the market.
635  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which crypto investment have you tried out? on: August 26, 2023, 02:27:19 PM
Tell us your crypto investment let’s learn from you and tell us which platform you used. Personally have tried out flexible savings; flexible savings gives opportunity to make passive income everyday on your savings based on the percentage allocated to the savings you subscribed for. Also there are APR savings on each newly listed tokens upto and more than 100% depending on how the event goes, these are opportunities you can get if you use flexible savings. Basically this feature is only available on CEX

I only buy and hold some crypto, and this is the first time I have ever heard of flexible saving, what it seems like you describe something that very similar to stacking. But seems like you put your money on a Centralized Exchange, which is quite risky on the long run. The less risky thing to do would just stack your coin on a decentralized staking pool. There are a lot of this, you can just search on google.
636  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: All business need to risk, so not only crypto! on: August 26, 2023, 02:11:09 PM
All businesses involve risk so the reality is that you should have the ability to take risks.

I think the better phrasing would be 'everyone should be prepared for the risk, and understand how to mitigate the risk'. If we talk about business, and compared to investment, any type of investment, Risks on business are easier to mitigate, because most of the risk factor are controllable by the business owner, while the opposite, most of risk factor in investment is not controllable by investor.
637  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Save in Stable Coin Or Save in Local Currency? on: August 26, 2023, 02:06:56 PM
As a novice in crypto, I want to take enough time to learn more on how the market works before investing. But I'm really concerned on how to keep my money safe as I await the right time to invest.

Do you think it's better to save in stable coin like usdt or I should just keep the money in the bank?

Depends on your local currency, but both work the same. If your currency is strong and in high demand like Euro, Yuan, or Singapore Dollar keeping your local currency is not bad less risk compared to stablecoin, which might crash instantly like UST (TerraLuna). But if you have less strong currency keeping USDT to maintain your portfolio value in a short-term is better.
638  Economy / Economics / Re: Blackrock invest in ukraine on: August 26, 2023, 02:00:11 PM
That's what US always wanted! If you think the Russia - Ukraine war is happening because of Putin, you are living in fool's paradise. It's a tactical war initiated by US by inviting Ukraine to join NATO. The sole intention of US was to gain uninterrupted access to Russian border. Ukraine is just a scapegoat.

So when BlackRock is planning their investment in Ukraine, the intention is now very clear. If the access cannot be received by war tactics, the next step is to gain access of the financial markets and gain so much dominance where US government can put pressure to have a military base in Ukraine. Well thought out plan by the only warmongers of this century.

Well, whatever NATO was offering to the Ukraine, that's all a diplomatic action, not a war decalration, if Putin wanted to 'retaliate' then he should only do diplomatic action, not invading Ukraine and declare a war. Doesn't matter what US do, what the world currently knows is that Putin was the one pulling the trigger.

And blackrock never do moves what's not good If blackrock ready to go all in ukraine then i follow them i rich

You know this kind of attitude will be the start of you losing all of your money that you invested. And the correct phrase should be 'Blackrock never do moves that's not giving more benefit to them', it's very rare and almost impossible that an investment company doing a charity.
639  Economy / Economics / Re: It's good that financial instutions Understood that they need to use crypto on: August 25, 2023, 03:51:24 PM

I know that it will not be simple and it should take some time but that doesn't mean that it would be possible to make a profit. It is going to be that possible for us to make some profit then we should consider it a better approach. Hopefully it will be possible to add more later on when the time comes and should make a profit.

I don't know what you mean by 'make profit' here but as far as I know, paypal only release a stable coin, so it backed by USD, the price will never be far of 1 USD, so we can't really speculate or make profit from it. But if you mean just simply using it for transaction then that will do.
640  Economy / Economics / Re: BRICS has become eleven countries instead of five. on: August 25, 2023, 03:46:44 PM
The new 6 countries that mentioned in the article seems only got the invitation, none of those country has confirmed that they actually want to join BRICS at least as far as I know and at the time when I write this reply. All that being said if those countries were to join BRICS then it is a new world order indeed, they already got India and China, with UAE, Saudi, and Iran join in the west should really consider to start their move (whatever that move is, but idk). No offense but UAE, Saudi and Iran will have more significant influence than the other three countries.
This is wrong. Before the BRICS summit, 22 countries filed formal applications to join the alliance and six applications were granted. Initially, 5 applications were granted, then Ethiopia was added to them for "geographical reasons". Officially, membership in the alliance will begin for new members on January 1, 2024, and the alliance itself will probably be renamed BRICS+.

My bad, I guess I only followed the BRICS stuff after they officially formed the first alliance of 6 countries, never researching about the previous event. But after some due diligence I found that there are actually 40 countries that are interested in joining, but only 22 that have filled official application.
