Interesting. This is a 'flying taxi' company called Vimana. Here's a video: https://review.bellmedia.ca/view/371117007
They say it has mastered vertical take-off and landing. Vehicles communicate with each other without need for air traffic control. Claim launch by 2020, and full fledged mode by 2023.

Not sure where NEM would fit in here though. Anyone else have more thoughts?
wow, maybe NEM will hit to 1$ in the next time. Wink
It's possible, but some more potential from the news would be appreciated. Helps us know what the team is thinking on making NEM successful.

The name reminds me of the Indian myth from ancient Aliens  Cheesy

NEM could possible fit in managing the taxi orders and take care of flight safety. But all this is just a guess.  Huh

I mean, I don't even know how a blockchain would fit their vision in the first place, i.e. what would a flying taxi use a blockchain for. I can see payments potentially being made via cryptocurrency but seems a stretch they'd use NEM and not more mainstream cryptocurrencies like BTC. Perhaps there are some other secondary applications that NEM can help with. Would be interesting to get the team's thoughts on this one.
623  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum is the future of crypto, bitcoin is not. on: November 30, 2017, 04:38:24 AM
Bitcoin is still the mother of all coins. Ethereum is widely used but it doesn't have a good reputation as bitcoin. I use ethereum and I love it for low transaction fees compared to bitcoin but let's just accept the fact that bitcoin cannot be removed in top 1.

I think you overestimate bitcoin. It is popular and it is the main reason why it is #1. It has old technology inside and it has a lot of problems with growing.

Ethereum is working consistently on scalability and they know what to do next. And I don't mention that 90% of the latest projects are based on its Blockchain which means that it has a great potential in terms of future demand in ETH and gas.

So, I believe it is a matter of a couple of years for ethereum to become #1 coin.

But I don't exclude that it could happen that there will appear a new coin that will take major place.
Ethereum is higher risk though. All the things you claim are on the roadmap, but nothing's a guarantee. Also, Ethereum is marred by a black spot of blockchain rollback in its past, so has a higher probability of being pressured by governments to do the same in the future, which is value destructive. Some of the issues with its smart contracts, like the Parity multisig, doesn't instill a lot of confidence.

I like Ethereum a lot, but let's not underplay the risks here.

Has this shit crashed yet? Anyone got a list of the exchanges with trading pairs? Any word on POLO? Is Bittrex still the largest exchange it's listed on? Is the chain stable enough for Arbitrage yet?
Bittrex and HitBTC are your best bet, assuming you don't want to trade on Bithumb, which has the largest volume. I have no idea why the Koreans like this coin, but their exchange volume is 5 times Bittrex just on Bithumb.

So excited by the all Stratis releases and events in December. I have a feeling that we'll have a great Christmas and New Year!  Cool Cheesy
Now our guys are at the Silicon Valley EXPO and presenting the technology Stratis can offer to the enterprise world as well as testing the ICO platform. We should receive some sweet news the next couple of days! Stay tuned!
Any coverage from that event would be great. Are there any independent media articles from that event?

This is time for altocoins to boom. Stratis has managed to go up to $6. This coin has huge potential with masternodes.

The thing that will make Stratis masternodes stand out above and beyond the rest of the other masternodes is that the rewards will be paid out in BITCOINS.  That's a first and Stratis will be the original project to offer this.

Yep, an underrated observation. Many other Masternodes just pay via inflation of their own currency, whereas Stratis masternodes pay based on the amount of Bitcoin transactions going through. This means it's not just that the denomination is in Bitcoin, but that the payouts are not based on currency inflation but economic transactions enabled by the Masternodes.

I'm just learning about Stratis and it looks to have a lot of potential and useability for non-tech types.

I just got some Stratis - interested in what the staking is like for Stratis? I'm guessing you just have to keep your wallet open and start staking, but how long would it take to get, say, 1 Stratis through staking if you had, lets say, 10 Stratis? I'm guessing a really long time!

Welcome to Stratis.  It takes approximately 25,000 Stratis to stake 1 per day.  You can calculate your stake earnings with the Stratis calculator here:  https://www.stratispool.com/  If you don't have that many Stratis it probably won't be worth staking.  Just keep buying and you'll be rewarded when the price increases.

I disagree. You don't need 1 STRAT per day for it to be worth staking. It really depends on how you're going to stake. Many people just run their computers 24x7, so in that case, even if you get 0.01 STRAT per day, it may be worth it. Others might want to stake on something like raspberry pi. In that case, you want to look at your return on hardware, which is much less than $100, so really, a few STRAT per YEAR would be enough.

STRAT doesn't have the highest PoS rewards, but that keeps inflation in check. There's no free lunch here guys.

Yeah I'm somewhat in this position. I wouldn't say I currently have enough Stratis to make staking worth it, but if I keep it for a while, get some more etc, then setting up staking would be worth it, as I have a GPU mining rig that is open 24x7 anyway. May as well leave a stratis staking window open.

Thanks for the link to the calculator and pool that has some useful info.

If you have a mining rig anyway, no harm letting the Stratis client run as well. It hardly takes up space/CPU - that's one advantage of PoS. I understand the rewards aren't high, but on the plus side, you don't incur any additional cost. Plus, you'd be helping secure the network, which is always good for any cryptocurrency really.

Wait and see Dude, big news will come very soon.....

https://twitter.com/iconominet/status/935522110730047501

Keep cool !!,
They're just attending...
Doubt anything big will come quickly.

Im still waiting 5/6$ per Icn but Maybe its a dream this year , may 2018.....
Price is falling again. Didn't understand why it was suddenly rising. Could go back to 1 dollar...

Much hard to predict but I don't think it will fall down to $1 it getting stable now. I hope price will continue moving with uptrend and soon it will achieve $2 and than keep going to next level.
It just retracted from 1.81 to 1.48 (current price), could go lower but yeah I don't see it going below 1$ again. But there was no reason why it went from 1$ to 1.8$. I think Iconomi manipulated the price to create some goodwill for ICN holders after Jani had his meltdown and they closed their Reddit... Volume is quite low, so price can be manipulated quite easily...

That's a normal move for crypto - I wouldn't read too much into it. You're right that the volume is low, mainly because it is not traded on the large exchanges like other cryptos.

just sold my strat at trex for 6.12 usd a piece and will buy more once it dips
this does not mean people like me don't believe in this coin, it just means that this is a good target to cash out for those that are here for months

don't fud  Wink
Good luck with that play. I've never successfully called a top like this, so props to you for trying Smiley
632  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Best Investments on: November 28, 2017, 05:59:09 PM
What are the best investment opetions for bitcoins to be put into?
Please post here!
There are many various way to invest your bitcoin. I suggest you to invest in ICO, its a good way to grow your wealth. But you should keep follow the progress of the project by joining telegram group, twitter or the ANN thread, by keep following any every news update you will have enough information to make good strategy.
How many ICOs have outperformed BTC over a long-medium time period? It seems many of them don't pan out, and the gains are illusory. You shouldn't blindly invest in ICOs - there are lots of factors from valuation to project potential to consider. For every one ETH, there are a hundred duds as well.

This Wee Scottish Firm Is Building A Solution To Net Neutrality — And It’s Completely Autonomous

Tim Berners-Lee creator of the World Wide Web recently stated ‘the system is failing’ and by that he meant the internet. The internet he created https://medium.com/@A.Wheel/this-wee-scottish-firm-is-building-a-solution-to-net-neutrality-and-its-completely-autonomous-cd80b4b6d03f
That's a pretty neat article. Lots of new projects working on related ideas too (like Blockstack) and would be interesting to see what solutions ultimately get adopted by the people.

Do you have any info on the correctness of this information here? https://ca.taas.fund/wallets/dashboard

As I remember, one of you mentioned not all of their wallets are here, or something like this.  Any info?

https://ca.taas.fund/wallets/dashboard?history_date=27.11.2017

If you click on past day than you can find the whole info about their wallet balances. I think it took sometime to show accurate balance info on same day I hope you will be able to find this.
That's a helpful link, thanks. Interesting to see their portfolio composition. I wonder how much the market value will deviate from the book value both up and down.

636  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: November 28, 2017, 04:59:36 PM
Hi all, I was seeking a confirmation of this fact: XEM is a cryptocurrency which is NOT a fork or some sort of Bitcoin. Is it correct?
Should be like that reading the materials from the official sources, but if someone can doubleconfirm I would appreciate.
THX!

That's actually a funny question, only because when NEM was coded from scratch there was only one Bitcoin, and I don't think anyone anticipated the multiple forks it's having now.

NEM was originally going to be a clone of NXT. NXT was the first of what was called the second generation of cryptocurrency back in the day. Rather than proof of work mining, it confirmed blocks through a process called forging. The entire coin was released at once in a genesis block so the forging address would get any coins that were transaction fees. NXT had some initial technical difficulties which NEM was going to address. And then the developers decided to just code the whole thing from scratch. NEM is a complete original.
Also, don't forget the proof of importance protocol instead of pure proof of stake. That's something unique to NEM as well.

28-30th Nov    : Blockchain Expo at Silicon Valley
30th Nov         : Test ICO Platform at Expo
Identity IOS App next week
1st Dec      : Stratis Academy Platform
11th Dec    : Breeze Wallet with Tumblebit
18th Dec    : Full Node Alpha Release

This 2 release will be the keystone for Stratis.. Tumblebit technology is awesome, a disruptive innovation in this industry. I think we will soon have a new ath and maybe yes, we can go back to the billion club

Is Tumblebit really as big as it seems to be? It can make Bitcoin transactions anonymous (there is clearly a huge market for this looking at the valuation of coins like zcash/monero/dash). For zcash, shielded addresses is not in effect yet but it is something they are working on, for monero this is default (all addresses are shielded and thus by knowing an address you cannot know how many coins are associated with that address).

Does tumblebit do anything other than hide the transaction amount? Ie if you know the sender address and the receiver address, you can still see how many coins are associated with the address and could (in theory) infer how many coins were transacted? If this is so, how will it compete with say Monero (or zcash in the future if they solve some critical problems) which is already capable of completely anonymous transactions with shielded addresses? How heavy on resources with it be (ie would it be able to deal with the volume monero currently has)? I guess this would depend on how many masternodes are up.
Well, it does do a lot of things. The point is, it provides privacy to Bitcoin today. zcash/Monero might work, but that's not the world's biggest markets. Bitcoin is far bigger, and Bitcoin holders don't have any good privacy solutions. Tumblebit allows you that solution for people who hold Bitcoin.

Also, tumblebit is different from confidential transactions that hide the transaction amounts natively at the Bitcoin protocol level while still revealing the party receiving the transaction.

I am wondering if anyone already recognized that NEM is rated best on coincheckup.com, a service that is doing extensive research on crypto projects. Just go to the start site and sort the list for score. Then NEM is listed at the top  Cool
An interesting data point. This is their NEM analysis: https://coincheckup.com/coins/nem/analysis
NEM loses a lot of points in Team and Business/Company sections. The advisory board section as well although it matters less. Would be interesting if they can list the NEM project advisors on the website, and perhaps get some 'big names' on board?

Tumblebit will depend a lot on the number of users. If it gets adopted more, then it will strongly incentivize people to run masternodes. That would soak up a lot of supply on the exchanges and likely drive the price up as well. There are concerns being raised about BTC's privacy at the moment, so if there's a mass movement towards privacy solutions like this, STRAT can hugely benefit.

Are you sure to have a clean enviroment? Seems like a steal-coin malware pattern
There were issues in the past. If you're concerned, the best way is to get a hardware wallet. Also remember never to use a Bitcoin address that still has Bitcoin in it - that way, the malware at least can't steal your Bitcoin. Send your BTC to a different address before importing the private keys into a BTG wallet.
