Probably lots of people here have changed their minds after seeing the game of PSG against Nice. Me included by the way. At first I was sure that PSG would be the strongest team in that Group F, but this idea can't really be held up after that result. If they lose their home games like that, how will they do when they play in Newcastle or Milan or Dortmund? Those are definitely not games they could take home easy points from. When they also lose their home games like that, who knows but maybe they'll be knocked out before the knockout stage even starts.

If you look at the four clubs in that F group you will see that even with PSG poor performances in the league this season they still can top that group. My reason is because the four teams has had a mixed start to the season with none of them happy to be where they are today. More so we don’t use the league performances to as a yard stick to judge the performance of the players when coming into the champions league. We have in the past witnessed many club’s lifting the trophy and playing bad in the league, some self missing out of the top four.

I just have this iota of confidence that with the current squad PSG has without big names to add pressure to them they can go a long way in the competition. The season is just starting and they can still fight for every single trophy this season even with the poor start to the season, if Luiz Enrique gets his team tactics right.

For PSG to go a long way I think it will be vital to not get the wrong opponent in the round of 16 or in the quarterfinals. If they face a team like Real Madrid or Manchester City in one of those rounds, I doubt that PSG has the manpower to win against one of the favorites. So most importantly they should finish their group as 1st and then see what their next opponent in the knockout rounds will be. The drawings can have a significant impact on the outcome for any club on their success in the Champions League. Last season PSG was playing against Bayern in the round of 16 and it was instantly over for them. I think they could have survived that round if they had faced a weaker opponent. That's why my answer is that it depends first on their rank in the group stage. If they finish 2nd, the first opponent might already be too strong for them in the knockout round.

A lot of gamblers lost their money in this match. Because the hot favorite team in this match was Athletic Madrid. Since this team has been in good form consistently, and in the last match they got an impressive 7-0 win. So no one can imagine that Atletico Madrid will be defeated in this match. I think all the gamblers were betting on Atletico Madrid to win this match. But Atletico Madrid played very badly. Although conceding three goals, the players of Atletico Madrid could not score a single goal. I thought Barcelona and Real Madrid as well as Atlético Madrid would continue to fight for the title this season. After seeing the result of this match I don't think Atletico Madrid deserve to win the title.

Barcelona has played some tasty football, I really liked it. It is good to see that they can perform amazing like that right before the Champions League begins. It was disappointing to see how they did last season and usually when you read their name in a game, you know that this is going to be a hell lot of fun to watch, but that wasn't the case last season.

But now I hope that times are finally improving for them and they can get an upgrade to a serious contender for titles due to consistent performances. Would be amazing as I have always been a Barcelona fan, but it was less exciting when they played slowly and not ingenious anymore. They were known for these excellent moves, but all of that was gone. Maybe there witty playfulness is now finally back.

Manchester City has definitely been very careful about spending money. They have brought in the players that they actually need. They did not overspend at all. Well maybe we can say something different about Jack Grealish. I do not think he deserved that big of a transfer money. But I guess that’s okay. Considering how much money people are spending right now for players. They have actually brought in very good results for the amount of money that they have spent so far. I don’t think not a lot of clubs can actually say that. Especially not Manchester United. They have spent stupid money for a lot of players that did not give them almost anything.

At first I thought the same and then yes, it was because all those prices for any players of any quality were suffering from inflation literally. The prices were irrational and nobody could understand them. It was about that time when Grealish was bought and unless players have a clause that they can leave the club for a fixed sum of money like De Bruyne and Haaland I think, Manchester City is a rich club and the others make them pay for it. But still the difference between Manchester City and Chelsea is that Grealish became an essential player for the team. He is important to the whole game and perfectly fits into the system that Guardiola wants. If you see it that way, Manchester City spends 100 million once and it is good. Chelsea spends 70 million four times and none of the players delivers.
624  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: September 17, 2023, 11:01:24 AM
Yesterday all favorites won except Manchester United who once again had a lot of difficulties against Brighton and lost their game 1-3.Other than that everything went smoothly with Manchester City,Tottenham,Liverpool and Newcastle all won their games and made a lot of money to people who bet them or parlayed them together.

Now I hope Arsenal which is the main favorite to win today their game while also Chelsea is playing against a weak opponent in theory and they should win their game too. However the Premier League is usually with surprise results every week and this week so far no favorite has made an error so surprises can be expected.
I have already made a prediction about Chelsea and Arsenal in today's game, and here are my list of prediction about the few games remaining for the week.
Arsenal to win vs Everton.
Bournemouth  to draw vs Chelsea.
Real Madrid to win vs Sociedad
These are the three games I have made a stake on in today's encounter, and looking at that Chelsea match, they are facing difficulties in winning games this period, but they aren't going to lose, rather, the match is going to end in a draw. While Arsenal will face a lot of difficulty winning their game against Everton who have home record against them in the past 6 games.Arsenal only win them when they are at Emirates, but I think Arteta is doing to work on that recorded to break it.

As much as I would have contradicted you in the past, as much I agree with you that Chelsea is probably not going to win that game. The bookmakers still think that Chelsea is a big favorite in this game. It is kind of fascinating how us bettors and bookmakers refuse to make adjustments to the odds for Chelsea not winning the game. But I did my homework and I either exclude Chelsea from my bets or I go against them when I think they are going to mess it up again.

Since Bournemouth tied the game against a very strong West Ham United team and they have also dominated that game at home clearly, I think that they will have a good chance to come out successfully against Chelsea. I am not sure about a win though, but I full doubt that they will be left with empty hands after the game.

Just because the owner is willing to spend money, that doesn't mean that the club will get better, if you misspend that money then you are going to stay a terrible team. Doesn't mean that you can do wonders without spending neither, Pep spent hundreds of millions of dollars to be this good, but at least he did the right moves while spending it.

So, you can't be like United and Glazers family and just not spend anything you do not have to, they basically spend the bare minimum to keep them competing, but you can't be like Chelsea and Todd which would be spending money way more than you should, on players that do not even deserve that much money, and expect good results neither. The only way to get better is to spend right amount of money to the right players.

That is right and I think Pep Guardiola is a great role model for a manager who is massive resources available but yet a well-considered and reasonable approach to building a really strong squad.

Since 2016 Guardiola has spent roughly £1 billion for new players with Grealish being the most expensive for £100 million. He also got Haaland for only £52 million. He made a number of high quality transfers and knew exactly what player he needs for a specific position, but also for the consistency and balance within the team in terms of character, quality and strength.

But this isn't the end of the story. Guardiola also let go players and his net spending since 2016 is £478 million. They have won 14 trophies including the treble.

Manchester United has had a net spending of £835 million over the same period of time.

And over the last five years Manchester City's net spending ranks 10th among the Premier League teams. Respect!

Manchester city sitting first on the league table after defeating the hammers today at London stadium. Westham 1 and City 3. Spectacular performance from the citizens, they're not holding back, always keeping full pressure in league games. David Moyes dissapointed with the results he got against Manchester City.  Pep Guardiola is yet to fully recover, he was present for the game, encouraging his players to make outstanding performance. Westham united giving manchestet city difficult time before losing. The citizens have good chances of winning, especially Erling Haaland who missed golden goal scoring chances, perhaps he nets just a goal.
Haaland continues like this and he is 250€ million euros market value at the end of the season, now 7 goals in 5 games = every 65 minutes 1 goal. Manchester City the Champions League winner wins against the winner of the Conference League West Ham United. Now the statistics of City are 5 games, 5 wins and 14:3 goals. And Jeremy Doku has now scored his first goal in his second game. Everything run great.

I guess Haaland's mission is well defined already: score more goals than last season. I admire his drive, his passion for the game, his dedication, his humbleness and also his ability to take criticism and to criticize himself.

I saw some games when he scored several goals and after the game he gave an interview and without making fun of the opponent by choosing fair and respectful words, he said that he made many mistakes and should have scored a few more goals that game. It also was authentic when he said it. Sometimes a player says it and you can see that there is some cockiness in those words. But not with this guy.

He had 35 goals last season and if he doesn't miss any games this season, no doubt he will break his own record. I am excited for the Champions League games as well because his record there is unbelievable. I think there never was a player who had as many games and a goal per game average of over 1.0. Chapeau!
627  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: September 16, 2023, 08:37:18 PM
It's been very long that the Milan clubs started their Italian Serie A season in the same fashion they've done this season by winning all their first three matches and that's why I'm not really surprised with the media hypes about this particular fixture.
Both Inter Milan and AC Milan has been very impressive this season and are good enough to win the game but one them must either win, draw or lose the match which I think is the intriguing part of the game. While Inter has a lethal striker like Lautaro Martinez AC Milan has got Olivier Giroud who's been prolific as well since the start of the season. I might not be sure of who will that game but I'm sure both teams are gonna score in the game.

This was a result that I never thought could be coming. Inter winning with 5 goals against 1 goal by AC Milan wasn't even in the back of my head considering that I thought something unexpected could happen. They demolished AC Milan as if Milan wasn't fully there, as if they had forgotten during this break how to play on a top level. I was hoping for a thrilling match with some goals and certainly a match that is exciting until the end, but this was over quite early. The goal 2-1 to close the gap gave a short moment of hope, but it didn't look like AC Milan could pull off the miracle and turn the game upside down. I think for now we know who is the best team in the Serie A.
628  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: September 16, 2023, 07:19:57 PM
I have not seen this match live. But I was very surprised by the result of the match. This was a completely unexpected result for me. Because Atletico Madrid was in very good form. Even in the previous match there was a great 7-0 win against Rayo Vallecano. And Valencia was not a very strong team. The Valencia team had been defeated in the previous two matches before this match. And so Valencia's comeback with a win over Atletico Madrid was completely unexpected.

Valencia scored 3 goals in this match but Atletico Madrid could not score a single goal. Valencia players showed great dominance in the home match. Atletico Madrid's players made several attacks, but they could not break Valencia's defense. Valencia is now fifth in the points table.

But isn't this what everybody wants? Smiley

If football was so predictable that we wouldn't have to check the results anymore, where would the fun be? I think this is another great result that messed up many betting slips! Tongue

I thought that Atletico would win the game and also probably not concede a goal because that is their strength in many games against weaker teams, but this time I was way off the mark in any of the events that I expected to become true. Not scoring a goal in that game is is really bad for them.

When Atletico concedes a goal after 5 minutes, I thought that this game is anything but over because they would strike back somehow. But Valencia was the far more dangerous team and deserved the win.

PSG losses against Nice which is a garbage team in the league 1. Today was shit for PSG. Im seeing now if people yelling PSG as the most promising club on its group while the reality said the opposite thing about that and it was only nice.
I can't even imagine if it was newcastle or dortmund. I will not put PSG as favorite team to win the group F. PSG is still shitty performance.

I would rather than pick newcaste/acmilan to win the group stage rather than PSG which is still showing shitty performance on its local league. PSG is still in the disastrous season.
Enrique was just an overrated coach.

No chance for PSG to qualify for play off if the club is still showing awful performance. It shows how inconsistent PSG is.
I have to say that it made me laugh when PSG lost to Nice. I mean, really! With all the money they have spent, they can't even beat Nice? That makes me wonder where their interests are. If I had to bet, I'd bet that either AC Milan or Newcastle would win Group F. I've seen a few of their games, and it seems like they work better as a team. The way PSG has been playing lately doesn't scream "champions" to me. Tell the truth, Enrique? How much hype? If they keep going like this, they won't make the playoffs

Probably lots of people here have changed their minds after seeing the game of PSG against Nice. Me included by the way. At first I was sure that PSG would be the strongest team in that Group F, but this idea can't really be held up after that result. Not only that, but Manchester United also has to start their Champions League season with a game away from home against Bayern Munich and that makes it even heavier for them to play freely and find their best performance. But maybe it is the right game for them because it could either end in a wake up call or in a success that gives them confidence. Bayern is also not at their best at the moment.

But you said they play erratic and that hits the nail on the head. Their performances are so independent of each other. The only consistency you can see is that they are inconsistent and that they have problems even with the weaker teams.
There will be no miracles in this match. I believe Bayern Munich will easily defeat Manchester United. Manchester United shows their squad has no hope when facing the opponent who is supposed to be this season's champion. What Manchester United needs to do is protect their goal so they don't have to lose a big match in the first match of the Champions League season.  Erik ten Hag needs to think of a solution to stop Bayern Munich's strong strikers. If they lose this match, the recruits' morale will drop significantly.

I am a big football fan because I believe there is always some hope for unexpected results, but in this case I would agree that there is a very thin scope for potential success for Manchester United and with success I also mean a draw against Bayern Munich. Today Bayern Munich tied their game in the Bundesliga, so it is not impossible to win a point against them, but in the Champions League I also think that Bayern Munich will make sure to play their best.

In the last season in the Champions League Bayern Munich also had a great start and even worse for the other teams, Bayern's defense was strong and rock solid during the games as they only conceded two goals in those six games against opponents like Barcelona and Inter. This is easier said than done and Manchester United would have to significantly improve if they want to score against them.
631  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: September 15, 2023, 09:06:53 PM

I bet on Rayo Vallecano to win today. However, we haven't seen a good performance from Vallecano in the last two matches. Still, I think the team will get back on track with a win against Alaves in today's match. In the last two matches they lost 7-0 against Atletico Madrid and 1-0 against Real Betis. Alaves are a relatively weak team. And Rayo Vallecano is playing pretty well. However, they only scored from the penalty spot. In addition, no more goals can be scored. The match is still likely to be a draw. But I am hopeful that Vallecano will not disappoint me in today's match.
You have made a good bet @Marvell1 because Rayo is leading with 2-0 and it is the  extra time of the second half. De Frutus has sealed up their winning with a second goal that he finished superbly after he receives a cross from the left side of the box in a counter attack. It is quite amazing that the second half was dominated by the host Rayo and they are having great time playing Alaves. Rayo has missed so many chances and they could still maintain the pressure that they are mounting on Alaves. It is quite a pity that Alaves hasn't won any match since the beginning of the season, due to their poor performance in all matches.

Alaves has still done a good job this season because getting promoted is never easy and they have won two incredibly important games against Sevilla and Valencia when the odds were surely against them. Most of the time when teams get promoted it is more difficult for them to win any of the away games when simultaneously they are able to beat teams like the two I mentioned above. The home games are their savior I would expect. If they keep collecting points frequently from their home games, and it doesn't have to be the three points all the time, I believe they have a realistic chance to stay in La Liga after this season.
632  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: September 15, 2023, 08:42:42 PM
First of all, Manchester United are not in good form. Their performances have been erratic in the Premier League. United are not playing well against big teams.
Secondly, Manchester United's attacking players are not playing well. Ten Hag cannot overcome this weakness very quickly.

Third, in the first match of the Champions League, Manchester United will play against the strong Bayern Munich. And Bayern Munich is one of the most favorite teams in this year's Champions League. United are going to start the Champions League by playing against such a team. And if United do not perform well, there is no chance of winning. On the other hand, Bayern Munich will definitely play to win. United's erratic performance is a chance Munich coach Tuchel will use very well. If Manchester United play the way they have in their last few matches, they will surely lose against Munich.

The difficulty of making predictions for the match between Inter Milan vs AC Milan is due to their good performance at the start of this season. So I also imagine that the match between these two teams will be quite exciting to watch because considering that the positions of these two teams are also at the top now, so every attack that will be built in the match will be quite beautiful to see. Even more impatient to see how their match will be tomorrow.
Milan have never won their last 4 matches against Inter in several different competitions including the Supercoppa Italiana, Serie A and Champions League. Milan experienced 4 defeats in 4 consecutive matches against Inter and this is one of the benchmarks that will determine who will be the favorite.

Inter has a good chance to win this derby match against Milan, but Milan also has a chance to turn things around and stop that bad record. Of course it is difficult to predict how the result will be, but when the record of the last 4 matches is your reference, then I believe Inter is the favorite to win. I tend to hope Milan win that match, but a draw is a fair result I think.

But I think this a game with very equal teams and also equal performances and form over the last few weeks. This is a great derby because in my opinion it doesn't have an overwhelming favorite.

What I like the most about this game is that Inter Milan doesn't play as defensively as they used to do for many years. I hate teams that prefer to destroy the gameplay of the opponent rather than play brilliant football on their own. It's more standard when weak teams play against strong teams, but when Inter did that I thought that it's a pity they don't a different approach to their gameplay.

But this game will finally be full of action I think. Still they will play with care and try to make sure to not concede an early goal.
634  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Big capital, small risk or small capital big risk - which is best approach? on: September 14, 2023, 09:15:59 PM
Different people with different approach to gambling. Some prefer committing huge capital to high probability small odds while others prefer using small capital to target big wins. There are many reasons for each of these approaches.

While those that put huge capital win more often, their losses are usually painful. On the other hand, those that commit small capital to make huge wins rare win but when they do, they win big; their losses too are less painful. There are other advantages and disadvantages for both approaches but for the sake of this discussion, let's know which approach you think is better and why?

I think one interesting perspective to take here is that people betting big to win small tend to bet a relatively higher proportion of their bankroll or money they have available for gambling. If someone takes $100,000 to bet on odds of 1.03 I think it is either really for fun or it is supposed to be some sort of safe bet that is meant to increase the bankroll slightly. When someone goes for higher odds like 2.0 or 3.0, I guess it is someone who is using less of the available total bankroll and says "go big or go home".

It is also all about the risk appetite, but eventually it is about the mathematics. People tend to underestimate the comparative risk of going for low odds with big capital vs. going for high odds with low capital.

If someone wants to double $10,000 and bets on odds with 1.10 in equal increments, the $10,000 would have to be bet 10 times. Now it's difficult to come up with probabilities because it depends on the bookies as to what odds they allocate to what potential win rate. But assuming that the player would give himself a 93% win rate for each of those bets, this equals 93%^10=48.4%. A player would have to think that he wins in more than 93% of the cases for each bet valued at 1.10 odds by the bookie to come up on top of a total win rate of 50%.

If a player wins half of the time and loses half of the time, he remains break even. So betting with high capital on low odds makes only sense if your bankroll is much bigger than your partial bets and the player is better in valuing the odds probability-wise than the bookie.
635  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: September 14, 2023, 08:30:33 PM

Actually I think they are underrated because people believe them being in the competition for the first time after a long stay in the English Premier League and wirh the level of the players they have got they won't be well experienced and they won't be able to withstand the other teams in their group. Away from lack of experience being one of the reasons why they are being underrated I think their performance lately since the beginning have made  a lot of their to doubt their quality because if they can't win their matches in the league probably they are not fit to be in the champions league which will be very difficult starting from the grip stages.

I believe this, too. If they had a better first four games, the overall opinion would be different. But I think the first four games have also provided some important information about their shape at the moment. These games were mostly against opponents that I would say belong to the top third or certainly top half of the Premier League. Losing against Manchester City is one thing, but also losing this game against Liverpool the way they lost it might have decreased public confidence in their upcoming Champions League performances. And frankly, I see it like that, too. Losing against all these stronger opponents means that they have not yet found the right means to win those games. There can still be done something about it, but the Champions League is quite similar to what they have had during their first four games in the Premier League now. Playing against PSG, AC Milan and Dortmund is difficult. I would say it would probably be easier if they played against Manchester City and then two mediocre or weaker teams. This group is like having a final in every single round of the group stage.
636  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: September 13, 2023, 09:59:34 PM
On paper, AC Milan and PSG are indeed favorites in this hellish group, but in football, player material is no guarantee of victory, as long as they can focus and be consistent, I guarantee they can get through this difficult time. prediction group.
Newcastle is the most underrated team in group F in my opinion. They are not a regular team in the Champions League, but their good form last season in the Premier League has brought Newcastle to this stage. I agree that Milan and PSG are two quality teams that are actually better than Newcastle, but no one should ignore Dortmund, which is also known for its experience.

Things won't be easy in group F, but we can now make a choice on who has a chance of qualifying based on the quality of the team. Everyone would probably be surprised if Dortmund and Newcastle progress to the last 16, but I'm not thinking about that at the moment.

I don't think they are underrated at the moment, but they didn't have that many good games during the beginning of the season. Maybe people are curious to see whether they continue with their performances from last season. I think that would make a huge difference. But the group is tough because there isn't really a big favorite who is probably going to win all the games. Which means that they will be taking away points from each other. This could be a killer group with everyone still having all the chances before the last match and everyone could also still lose everything.

The thing you indicated in the subject is actually a thing that has been on the forum for a long time. Generally the members joining pools are making "side bets" between themselves. We have made side bets with many members this season. We didn't feel the need of using escrow as we trusted each other. I even created a spreadsheet to be able to follow these. For the ones who would like to take a look at:

spreadsheet

I guess side bets is quite some fun and even though I saw people making their own bets here from time to time, I've never seen a dedicated thread for it.

I really didn't want to go off-topic here, but OP's opinion about Messi winning the next Ballon d'Or got me thinking about it. At first I wanted to say that that isn't possible. But Wikipedia says this:

"Note: Until 2021, the Ballon d'Or was awarded based on player performance during the calendar year. Since 2022, jurors have been instructed to take into account the previous season.[20]"

I guess this could give Messi the edge over Haaland as that title with Argentina may count more for some of the voters. But it is also unfair because that would mean Haaland can never have that title and will always be competing with someone who wins the World Cup or another big tournament every four years.

The combination of Kylian Mbapppe and Kareem Benzima in the frontline will be superb if this deal happens and will definitely bring significant changes to the team in terms of performance. This deal is something I have been wishing to happen, but it keeps being delayed by the PSG side.  Mbappé is a fantastic player, and it's clear that is the reason PSG don't want to let him go.

Cheesy Man you are talking trash! Benzema? What are you even posting here? I am really not calling anyone out because I am not interested in doing that, but can't you please invest a minimum amount of time to get the most obvious facts right? Bezema is no Real Madrid player. I don't now what you are wishing for or which drugs made you dream of Mbappe and Benzema playing together for Real Madrid, but this is weird.

As in any other area of business, there are contracts and these contracts are supposed to be complied with. Mbappe has a contract and hence he has to stay when requirements from PSG are not fulfilled. Whether he is good or bad or what not is completely irrelevant.

But maybe you know more than anyone else and Real Madrid is already working on a deal behind the scenes to bring Benzema back from Saudi Arabia. Grin
The duet between Mbappe and Benzema can only happen if Mbappe surprisingly decides to leave and join Al-Ittihad after his contract at PSG ends ... But I think that's hard to be true  Grin

No one knows for sure where Mbappe will go. Even though Real Madrid is predicted to be the team that has a big chance of getting Mbappe next season but that doesn't necessarily mean it will actually happen. There are rumors that an agreement has been reached between Mbappe and Real Madrid but still, it doesn't close the possibility that he will disappoint Real Madrid once again.

But this one surely was a funny fail by Franctoshi! Tongue I often read some posts here and think that someone just got a little bit of it wrong or maybe read an old source or something, but missing out on the fact that neither Mbappe nor Benzema is playing for Real Madrid, and then even to think that both are playing together for Real Madrid right now, @Franctoshi I wonder which source you had a look at? Cheesy But it's fine, shit happens! Wink

Well I think the Mbappe thing will not even come to a normal ending after this season. There is probably tons of rumors again and who knows what the PSG bosses are planning. Given the astronomical salaries these days, nobody would be impressed if they offered him 200 million a year as well if he extends his contract one more time. I don't know whether that would be possible because of financial fair play, but what if they offer him a salary that also contains a pension of 30 million for the next 30 years or so. I don't know how such a contract would be counted, but if they really want to they will find ways to pay him some extra.

Only time can answer that, If you ask each player personally, of course the answer is that they want to play with the best club in the world. Real Madrid has long wanted Mbappe presence, but the club has not succeeded in bringing him in until now. Real Madrid will continue to try to bring in Mbappe, especially since the player really wants to play for Real Madrid.
Mbappe presence will further add to the sharpness of Real Madrid's front line, he will increase Real Madrid's goal productivity because his quality is beyond doubt.

Grin

The USA didn't play well against Canada. The third quarter is over, and Canada is leading by 9 points. We know that the USA won't give up, but they are in a precarious situation. Hopefully, they will be able to come back so I won't lose my bet on the moneyline. I'm also placing an extra bet on the USA moneyline with 3.40 odds. Good luck!
A few minutes have passed and the USA managed to tie the game...
I confess that I also bet on the US team, well, I believe if they maintain this performance, probably they will beat Canada (I hope so)
The last shot by Mikal Bridges brought the game to overtime. Unfortunately, the USA struggled in the extra period, and it appears they won't be getting the Bronze. It was the worst performance by the USA, and they need to be evaluated to prevent such occurrences in the future. I would like to congratulate Canada; they performed well tonight and beat the USA. Another seemed to be unsportsmanlike foul was called on Portis before the game ended; they were clearly frustrated.

There is a lot of work for them to do in the near future, but to be honest I think Canada and Germany have played very well against them with an extremely good hit rate from all distances.

I was wondering if the score is normal like that. In four quarters scoring 111:111 for the two teams before overtime started, isn't that a hell lot of points?  Each quarter is just 10 minutes and this is a score average that I thought would be way above of what is normally to be expected.

But USA was the big favorite and I think they had a hard time to motivate themselves to play for 3rd as good as they would play as if it was for the title. This was a disappointing tournament for them.
