641  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [Nxt] API of Nxt on: January 02, 2014, 12:03:47 PM
is there a method for uninstalling this? i had to format my computer to do it.

Good job. You should also smash the HDD with a hammer just to be sure.

Wow.  I'm sorry guys.

I'm really sorry this happened, but I'm glad we now know how it happened.
Now let's find out who did it, and how.
643  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Transparent mining, or What makes Nxt a 2nd generation currency on: January 02, 2014, 12:21:12 AM
1 min between blocks.

what mechanism is it that causes the timing to drift? sometimes there are blocks every few seconds, sometimes every 15 mins, etc.

Yeah, I wanted to ask this for a while. The avarage blocks per day are somewhere below 800. Why is that?

I would say, the future policy on hack claims should be:
No password revealed = no hack happened.
Everyone can say they were hacked, prove it.
Otherwise, hundreds of black PR artists all could claim they were hacked and post some obscure transaction.

Making them reveal the password don't help if they really have (had) Nxt, not just picking a random account/transaction for back PR. Anyone who has Nxt can transfer them to a new account and say they been hacked, revealing password won't disprove that.

(Just for the record I believe PaulyC, not sure about the other guy.)

Edit: Of course revealing the password are also a good way to make sure they are truthful about the strong enough password claim.

WTB at 0.00006, for 6 BTC.

Would everyone like a new Nxt exchange? I can get us started on something more appealing than dgex with the communities support.

Are you kidding me?

Considering there is ONE BILLION coins dispersed among a small number of unknowns who for whatever reason cannot give their true identity (unlike Ripple or eMunie). VERY high chance of being scammed. The market is being manipulated to create a frenzy - which is sadly working.

So many people about to get burned...

Yeah, you are the right person to run a Nxt exchange...
647  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NXT coin = scam coin -> New proof on: December 28, 2013, 02:38:53 PM
Everyone knows about the forging process. You're not providing anything new to the table.
You expected him to? Then you didn't read his previous posts...
648  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NXT Features ¦ VOTE on: December 28, 2013, 01:31:01 PM
I got a message of BCNext regarding this. He is thinking about changing the mining algo, a new approach will used Cunicula's proposal to assign a unique id to each coin. If this way is not flawed then we'll get trustless pooled mining. There are no details yet, the concept may be changed.

We didn't heard anything about this since then. Any update?
I think from a purely PR standpoint this would be one of the most urgent feature.

The fact that smaller Nxt holders can take a while (a long time actually) to forge a block, is one of the most frequent complain about Nxt. New adopters who only want to invest a small amount into nxt, and use to mining, don't like the long forging period, they became angry and dismissive about nxt.
I feel that this sets back the acceptance of Nxt by the crypto community.
649  Economy / Marketplace / Re: FREE 240 Gh Hashing when ordering a KnC Neptune on: December 27, 2013, 11:03:03 PM
Anyone been in contact with Wesly?

I sent him 2 PM's but no response and he has been online a few times since his last post (9th December).

Any response?
I'd like to know that he's still alive, and intend to keep his word.
650  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NXT Now Ranked 63rd on Coinmarketcap.com on: December 27, 2013, 03:04:37 PM

What effect will it have when NXT formally launches Jan. 3. And why is the exhchange going down, is that a bad sign? Also, given the market cap of NXT WHY is it not listed on any of the major alt exchanges?

The exchange can't handle the traffic. Not just normal traffic, but it's being DDoSed heavily. Upgrades are in progress (I hope, because I'm getting pissed.)
I read that as Nxt is a brand new code, it has a nonstandard API, so the major exchanges would need to put some work into it. Also, it's just a few weeks old, most exchanges take their time to add new cypros.
651  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] DGEX.com multicurrency exchange BTC <-> NXT no trading fees on: December 27, 2013, 02:58:29 PM
30h waiting for my NXT to be sent to my wallet

wtf ! , I paid for fees to be sent for no more than 12h    Angry

Thats not normal.
Are you sure they didn't send it alread?. So far everone I seen complaining about this long cashout times, they just didn't see the nxt arrived. Did you check the blockchain explorer? If you see it there, update your client.

Of course it's possible that it wasn't send yet. I myself not too impressed with dgex, in the last two days...
652  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NXT Now Ranked 63rd on Coinmarketcap.com on: December 27, 2013, 02:56:41 PM

A few minutes ago a succeded to log in, The price were climbing, it was around 0.00009700
653  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NXT Now Ranked 63rd on Coinmarketcap.com on: December 27, 2013, 02:41:41 PM
The exchange was/is down, the API that provides data for conmarketcap is not working.
654  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] DGEX.com multicurrency exchange BTC <-> NXT no trading fees on: December 27, 2013, 01:18:51 PM
1,000,000,000 (1 billion) initial coins
73 initial adopters
so roughly 13.7 Million each (assume equal distribution)
at 21 BTC Total
0.000000021 BTC per coin

current market rate is about 0.00013 (6000x)

To those are who are buying these coins... most of the coins are being hoarded, so you can only buy them on the market for 6000x or 600,000% of what all of the 1 billion coins were paid for at genesis. The early adopters are being greedy, selling them at such a high rate for an unproven technology that hasn't been open sourced. Also, the exchange enforces a minimum order price. They're all already out in circulation, they collectively paid $3000-$4000 for them in September/October. And only a fraction is being sold on the market, at 600,000% premium.

Stop buying these coins so high.

This

Funny thing is, a few hours later he bought Nxt for a few BTC. Smiley

People who invested on this forum in crypto don't want to give their true identity? Do you want to share yours?

Sorry if you are challenged. I was more indicating to the shady nameless developers behind NXT. I know the names of every developer on Ripple as well as eMunie. Why would I or anyone else invest in a shady coin that has millions dispersed among 'investors'. You are just asking to be dumped on.
Sorry, I don't argue with idiots. bye

obviously one of the few investors pulled out as he was satisfied with his profit.

The facts don't really support your conclusion. If you look at the blockchain, there were an influx of Nxt into the exchange before the price drop, but from dozens of accounts. A few bigger amounts (two 2M, a few 1M and less), and many various smaller transactions. It "obviously" came from different people. Unfortunately Dgex deposits are processed manually, and there were an almost 12 hours gap. These deposits hit the exchange the same time, most people were waiting hours for them to arrive, so in was a frenzy of sell orders that pushed down the price.
Yes, but do you think investors keep one account? Also, there were multiple investors, some which would've been a team of course. A few multiple million sell orders.

Seriously, look at the blockchain data. The currency is very new, it's simply to follow back the transactions.
It was from different people.

Hello,

I withdrawed 18k NXT to my wallet on December 22nd. It is marked as completed in my dgex.com account. However I didn't get the money on my NXT Wallet yet. This is probably due to the DDOS attack that you encountered.

My account number is 3454 and my NXT address is 7819836531038437634.

Can you please have a look? You can send the money to my wallet or credit my dgex account back. Either way is fine for me.

Thanks in advance.

It looks like Nxt was sent three days ago, the problem probably is with your client. Check if you have the newest version, and redownload blockchain.

I don't remember if this question came up before:
If I have 200 nxt, 100 forging, another 100 maturing...
- it is not possible. If 100 NXT forging, all coming NXT starts to forge immediately.
Oh, I didn't know that.
But that would explain how did I forged three blocks, after I moved the majority of my coins just today to a new address Smiley

thanks
