Organization wise, Tundra is somehow better than GG. Perhaps they want to make GG as a sister organization, or want to rebrand their whole organization as a whole after this purchase. i don't understand these buyouts on the esports scene because they don't mean much compared to sports acquisition wherein teams are merged together for 'better' results in performance..
That's true. Tundra's total winnings are nearly tripled compared to GG, but it still has a chance to not go through if GG can't get the most out of this potential buyout from Tundra.

There is a possibility that this will not pan out. Tundra is not getting valuable in the acquisition. Might as well just get better players if that's their goal, rather than buy the whole organization which is just an absolute waste of money. They would eliminate some competitions in the region though, which is great, but I'm pretty sure it will easily get replaced with a lot of newer teams comprised of old and new players.

So there is goes, the roster shuffle has already happened for some teams. But before that, the news about Team Spirit participating the ESL Kuala Lumpur won't happen anymore because they've just said that they need to take more rest and due to health issues and that's why they're not going to participate the tournament.

Okay, moving on, Team Secret has put Heen into inactive as their coach and the same goes for Armel. They have a new roster now, they've added two players on their roster since FBZ was just a loan so, there goes the mid laner and their offlane namely;

  • MidOne
  • BOOM

That's the two additions plus Puppey, yamich and Crystallis.

It looks like Puppey is really confidenet with MidOne. They worked for quite some time and the guy seems to be an okay core overall, although compared to the new cores that are appearing left and right, he's nowhere near the top. He can use the likes of Puppey and Crystallis for help in winning games.

For Tundra Esports, only 33 is left on the original roster. Nine, sneyking and skiter are out of the roster while we know that saksa is on health recovering. Skiter, sneyking, ATF, ma1rine and cr1t will be playing for Team Falcons.
Source: https://hawk.live/posts/team-falcons-roster-announced-dota-2

There will be more from the roster shuffles, so let's discuss guys.

Perhaps this is the reason why Tundra wants to buy all of GG. Then again, there are some players who are rumored to leave the org, so I don't know if this will serve Tundra any good or not.
642  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What impact does the BTC price have on your gambling habits? on: November 09, 2023, 10:36:49 PM
There's none. I still gamble no matter what the price of bitcoin is, although of course I won't be using bitcoin and switch to another crypto that I still have. If that isn't viable, I'll go ahead and use fiat and just play in a local casino. Recently, I find myself using fiat more in sports betting and I'm doing okay. Most of my crypto gambling accounts no longer have funds in them which is why I'm forced to use my local currency. But, if I ever find myself really wanting to play in a crypto casino, it's easy to buy XRP and deposit in a gambling platform then I play away. Fees are great, plus the transfers are fast, too.
643  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Angry at the high fees? That's what everyone predicted the future will be like! on: November 09, 2023, 09:48:11 PM

- if in the future we will pay 1 cent per tx we would have one cent worth of bodyguard
We should be familiar this, the world most often work like this, you get the value of what you paid for. But my thoughts is it would be disastrous to have a future of Bitcoin where miners calls the shots in such a way, having the transaction security we have now at a very affordable price is an underrated flex I hope it doesn't get this bad like you said it would be a long time, regardless we hope for a sustainable Bitcoin future.

They process the payments. They make sure that each transaction transmitted is received and goes from the sender to its receiver. They should not call 100% of the shots but they are technically the backbone of the network. They are a substantial part at that. While I agree that the fees should remain economical to a lot of people, I can't also help to think that maybe we are really headed for a future wherein fees are high in order to compensate and motivate miners to continue hashing and help keep bitcoin safe from 51% attacks.

All I can say right now is, I don't have a choice but to wait until everything subsides before I start using bitcoins to move my funds again.
644  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: November 09, 2023, 08:28:12 PM
As a result I would really like to see a driver like Alonso beside him. We can at least see some competition between the drivers of the same team for the title.  Smiley  But of course neither Red Bull nor Verstappen would like this idea.

Max is currently the face of Red Bull and F1. For sure, Red Bull will always like their boy to get the title and to make the world know that they are the best team through this guy. I think at this point, we cannot blame how well built RB19 was. Perez and Verstappen have the same spec'd car but Verstappen always seem to slide past Perez that the latter doesn't seem to be any competition to Max at all. Of course there are some strategies and team calls wherein Perez have to give up the position or help Max get the pole, but I guess it's also on how Max utilizes and drives the car to its full potential.
645  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hot take: Your crypto portfolio should have more than just Bitcoin. on: November 09, 2023, 07:30:14 PM
Most altcoins also follow the route that bitcoin is taking anyway, so I don't think that's minimizing risk but rather enlarging it. Perhaps ETH and other crypto that are in the top 10 list would suffice, though I still doubt it.

If you're pretty serious about your investments, crypto shouldn't be your lone bet on this realm. You also should have investments on other traditional assets such as precious metals, real estate, or whatever that has value. Heck, paintings are the most secure asset to hold so far, but that isn't for the minnows and little guppies as one artwork could easily fetch a $100k price tag, and that's not even from a known artist!

I'd rather hold only bitcoins and the rest, some traditional assets rather than spreading my funds into the same volatile category and end up regretting it once it crashed.
646  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Should Casinos Sponsor Sites That Deals With Gambling Addiction on: November 09, 2023, 06:04:21 PM
Depends on how they want their marketing strategy to work.

This is a double-edged sword for the casino who will look to sponsor organizations that helps people with gambling addiction. One, they might come off as hypocrites and people will stop supporting them. You can't really talk peace and have a gun armed and cocked, ready to shoot at any moment's notice. Two, people will regard them as someone who just makes money off cleanly and are not, in any way, intentionally rob people's money by flinging them into the wrong direction. They can be viewed as an entity who is just running a business which happens to cause addiction to people, and so they 'help' in the good cause by sponsoring organizations that actually help these afflicted individuals.

No matter which direction the casino takes, they will still make money at the end of the day, though through sponsoring these organizations, they have a chance to be regarded in a positive way rather than just sitting on the sidelines and passively taking people's money off of their pockets.
647  Economy / Economics / Re: How Much Does Food Cost in Your Country? on: November 08, 2023, 11:59:11 PM
In the Philippines

The basic salary is around $195 monthly, and the average monthly wage is around $600.
Monthly income depends on the location, it can be as low as the basic or as high as $1700.

1. House rent excluding bills - $107
2. Daily food cost (single person) - $10
3. Gasoline per liter - $1
4. Meat - $1.98 per kilo

I am from the Philippines, and I do bring my own car to work, and I can tell that it's not for everyone. Gas prices may be a dollar per liter, but given the traffic situation in the metros, your car can easily gulp a liter or two of gasoline for every 10 - 12 kilometers of travel, and that's not economical at all. As for food cost, I can say that I spend much less than that for the whole day, given I prepare my own food and only stick to what my body needs.

If I were to re-write this, here's what my expenses look like:

1. House rent: $200 for a 40-sqm, two-story apartment
2. Daily food cost: $5 that covers breakfast, lunch, and dinner
3. Gasoline consumed per day, 3 liters for a 10-km drive due to traffic, so that's $3

I can still tighten that budget if I wanted to, though I think I might be restricting myself too much if that happens. Indulgence happens once every two weeks, so I'm still feeding myself good. Compared to what I receive for my monthly pay, my expenses is quite negligible and I'm saving 70% of my pay.
648  Economy / Economics / Re: Are You Sticking to Your Plan or Has Life Made You Pause or Modify It? on: November 08, 2023, 11:28:02 PM
Fortunately I'm still sticking with my timeline. I'm still buying coins every now and then, and have no plans on stopping until such time that the price hopefully reaches $50k again. There's really no point to sell as early as now, unless you really need the money and you can use the financial help of your bitcoins. But yeah, typically no one really uses their investment funds for expenses and other emergencies. There should be a separate fund for that. If not, you will never have a successful investment even if it's crypto or other assets.
649  Economy / Economics / Re: India is the new economic leader of global south. And replacement for China?... on: November 08, 2023, 11:00:43 PM
It will take a while before India replaces China in terms of mass production and exports. The country is rich in manpower and a lot of countries and huge companies are supporting the country in a lot of ways (albeit the CCP being hostile and bully to other countries, lol). Whereas in India, they may be excelling in terms of technology and outsourcing, but they just can't match the sheer volume of how China manufactures things. They will always be the second best behind China, and that's an unfortunate fact for decades to come unless other nations decide to invest on India's infrastructure.
650  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are some things you should always avoid while gambling ? on: November 08, 2023, 10:33:49 PM
I think I'll only give one advice in here: never chase losses/wins. You are gambling for your entertainment, and not to make money. If you are looking for ways to make money, then work on your skills and do something productive on your time. There's no shortcut to making money, and a lot of beginners choose to take this path because they believe that they can also replicate the luck and success of some of the people that they see on the internet. Unfortunately, that's not the case with gambling. You will win some, but will certainly lose a lot if you continue walking on this path.
651  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: November 08, 2023, 09:44:54 PM
Another shocking move would be Tundra wants to buy the entire GG team ? That is insane but also why would you do that ? because Tundra looks fine just the way it is.

Organization wise, Tundra is somehow better than GG. Perhaps they want to make GG as a sister organization, or want to rebrand their whole organization as a whole after this purchase. i don't understand these buyouts on the esports scene because they don't mean much compared to sports acquisition wherein teams are merged together for 'better' results in performance.

I could also trow EG and SR here but personally I did expect that EG will disband but I didn't expect they will not form a new team for next year ...which means EG will not participate into Dota 2 pro scene for 2024.  Sad

EG is expected. They're showing very poor results for a long time now. SR on the other hand just needs restructuring, especially with Bulba still on the decision-making aspect of the team. It's been a few years overdue and they are still not heeding to the community's suggestion. They deserve the results they are getting from competitions with it.
652  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Jake Paul vs Andre August - December 15th in Florida on: November 08, 2023, 08:25:40 PM
-snip-
People always hoping on boxing influencer win

Influencer boxer, is always challenged or fighting a fighter with a few years off from boxing. It's always like that, since the opponent not fighting in a few years and jake still young + has good stamina.

If you not hear it, I guess the stunt marketing is not started yet ~XD

Well, these influencer boxers are considered as amateurs, so it's normal that they will take on fighters that haven't fought for years to get that 'even' footing in the fight. To me, it doesn't sound so exciting, as I've never heard of the guy. Probably just Jake Paul and his team's marketing to keep the momentum on the Jake's side - striking the iron while it's hot.

This will probably have a mediocre viewership count. Only a handful of people has heard of the guy, and the public is slowly noticing that the Paul brothers are just challenging opponents that are way past their prime, or someone who hasn't even achieved it. They're just really that good in marketing fights that's why they're still profiting from it.
653  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is not perfect, and that's okay. on: November 08, 2023, 07:44:33 PM
doesn't make it the "tool for terrorism" as the governments want people to believe.
Is this really a thing that governments are discussing these days? Because the other day I saw another topic around the same subject here and despite the FUD about illicit usage being old it makes me wonder whether they are starting it up again?

They may not be bringing that up, because it remains as a fact to them so is to the general public. That's always been one of the main points that the governments are using to justify their stance against cryptocurrencies. Fiat is also used in these illicit purchases, though they are not really highlighting that at all. I guess, it's part of the beauty of bitcoin. You have this negative tag that follows it no matter where you go.

As for OP, no system is perfect. All has its flaws that another imperfect system might patch up. It's just the way it is. The growing demands of Man will always render a 'perfect' system obsolete or imperfect in time.
654  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What conditions might cause you to stop gambling? on: November 07, 2023, 11:57:51 PM
I play out of boredom or if I really want to get something out of a game and I'm literally putting money where my mouth is, but if I found a new hobby that will shadow my interests in gambling, that will do it. My financial state is somewhat stable for the next year or so, and I'm not rushing to get more money and will certainly not do it through gambling. So if there's something that will stop me from betting, that will be something that occupies my full interest, and that is a new hobby.
655  Economy / Economics / Re: What is the right age for financial stability? on: November 07, 2023, 11:24:16 PM
There's no particular or recommended age to become financially stable, but if you start your investments early, you'll reap the rewards early.

It's also worth noting that no one really goes straight to investing on stocks, real estate, or any sort of things like that at an early age, unless you're using your parents money or only extremely lucky to be at the right place and at the right time to have the money to buy in on these assets. What most people do is invest on their skills and eventually land a high paying job. During those times, you also work on your 'network' to increase your chances of getting jobs that pay higher. And while you do this, you are already trying to keep some of your salary for the rainy days, or possibly an investment. It's a gradual process, and it depends entirely on the circumstances on whether you'll break out of the salaryman stage early or late--or never at all.

You can accomplish all of this if you put a bit of effort and consistency. Invest in yourself, and trust the process. There's no limit to financial stability except yourself.

Nouns has released their roster for Dota 2.

--> https://twitter.com/nounsesports/status/1721266726166233374

I think 747 is also a casino and they have made an announcement for their team roster composing of the following players:

  • Karl
  • Boomy
  • IYD
  • db
  • Jaunuel

Source --> https://www.facebook.com/747gg/posts/122117978078045957

747 is a sports betting site within the Southeast Asian region. I regularly use this site to bet on the NBA and other local games, though I don't know that they have an interest in creating their own esports team, and some veteran players at that. It's good that they are expanding and making a name for themselves. Perhaps they might consider it as an investment in marketing rather than an actual move to dive head first into esports.

Also, seeing Karl in this team somewhat feels weird. He's got the raw talent, just not the consistency. I don't think such a team could hone that for him, especially a new one.
I guess that this is a marketing on a different level just as what most of the casinos do to sponsor teams. Instead of just being an sponsor, they are trying to make name for themselves.

Karl needs more experience, I know that he's talented but sometimes he stumbles and he needs consistency just as you have said.

I watched that kid grow from his roots on Dota 1 to Dota 2, and I can say that he's not lacking experience by any means - he just lacks discipline and consistency. He does a lot of things right as an offlaner and as a midlaner, but oftentimes his composure, alongside his tendency to do stupid thing out of ego and showmanship costs their team the game. I doubt this team will help him hone that, though this has always been the case for SEA superstars. They get a short exposure due to their potential, but often get sidelined by newer names just because they lack the consistency to stay at the top of their game for a long time.

As for 747, this is a very expensive marketing strategy, although an effective one at that knowing that most of their customers are mainly gamers who try gambling as they think they have the knowledge from the game to enable them to win some money.
657  Economy / Economics / Re: "I saw my salary on a bottle of perfume today" on: November 07, 2023, 10:38:55 PM
There are some things in this world that is unfathomable to us but is pretty common to others. Same goes to extravagant prices of common items such as this perfume.

If I were to be asked on financial freedom, I'd say I'll see it as something that enables me to not think on how to fund my wants and needs for the next 5 years. Sounds so simple but that's basically what having more than enough money means. You don't have to worry about where will you be getting your money from for the next years and live comfortably without having to hold back on spending. Being rich is asking for too much, and while that per se is also financial freedom, I don't think a lot of people will ever be able to reach that.

I'd rather be able to afford that perfume, and choose not to buy it rather than want to buy it but not have the means to do so.

659  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and misinformation on: November 06, 2023, 11:55:11 PM
If you want to spread the word, then you will have to accept the consequences that you are going to be tagged crazy, a scam, or a cheat. That's what people who believe in bitcoin get when they're trying to talk to people about bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. It's something that isn't welcome by any means, but any new idea tend to get met with hostilities and instant discrediting of information unless you show them 'actual' results and real-world scenarios.

It's not you who's missing on the benefits and all the good stuff that bitcoin brings, anyway. At least, you shared the knowledge and you shared the possibilities. It's up to them to grab or believe it.
660  Economy / Economics / Re: War and property mortgage you still need to pay If war destroy your Property on: November 06, 2023, 11:10:26 PM
This is why diversification is the key on your investments and properties. I personally wouldn't invest on properties that are located near conflicted territories because the value of the properties will obviously depreciate, plus there is a huge possibility that the property will be destroyed or damaged when conflict arises. Better invest on properties that are far from these hotspots, and don't build something on it, just buy it as a parcel of land and wait for its value to appreciate.
