How do you explain the screenshot then if its a fake?

The same way phisher make fake websites to look like real bank sites or other sites that steal your credentials.  I don't do it so I don't know, but I imagine that it can be done.  I'm not sure if it's a coupon or not, but I can't select a coupon from that page on the Bitmain site.  The only time I can select a coupon to use is during checkout but he doesn't say it's a coupon, just a loyalty discount and if this does exist who even knows if Bitmain allows you to transfer it to another user.   I don't know if it's legit or not, I'm just saying proceed with caution and always use escrow.
642  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BITMAIN AntMiner APW3-12-1600 PSU Series on: February 13, 2016, 03:23:48 AM
So more false advertising that they don't want to correct.  Gotcha!
643  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: BitMain 20% Off on: February 13, 2016, 03:21:52 AM
Yeah sounds fishy to me as well.  A newbie account that gets a 20% off Bitmain loyalty coupon.  I mean sure there's a chance that they just never created an account on the forum but if you're such a big buyer I'd imagine you'd have some kind of history here.  Plus considering that they've been on holiday for the past two weeks I don't think they've been issuing coupons other than the 0.05BTC off batch 10.  Please use escrow if you are thinking of accepting this.  In any case even with a 20% off coupon I don't think there's any ROI on the S7 with the difficulty jumping the way it has and the one coming up.

Any way you look at it it just doesn't look good for home miners or bitcoin in general.

Also back to the thread, I finally got my 4k board and PSU set up.  I'm running two S7s and one under clocked SP20 at about 700w off them and I noticed that with the scythe fans on the 2 4k PSUs the PSU still feels hot to the touch.  They haven't thermally shut down on their own, but I'm just wondering if the scythes are enough and I'm just being a worry wart or not.  I love the 4k over the 2880w but I'm sure I'll love them both once I do a fan mod to the pair of 2880 if I ever get off my ass.

Didn't they come with 12 at one point?

Image in the first post says 6 pairs of 6.

That's some amazing magic they do with the blocks and the restarts!

Pool still down or just the site.

Just the site.  They are doing a restart and should be back up shortly.  Well it's not really down, the site is up just not reporting stats.  Mining should not be effected.

it was from an S5+ dps2000 i had been working since september of 2015 Undecided

What do you think is the root cause?  Missing heat sink?  Was there any warning indicators (ie board was running hotter than others for a while before this happening, etc)?  Glad to see the burn out stops within the card only.
was using a dps 2000 and aim still using it,i don't know it just happened yesterday today i took it apart to inspect and that is what found as i removed it and the heatsink from another board fell off so now it has become an S5+ .66meaning i am using six boards, now I know why Bitmain ask for pictures of both sides of the board before issuing an rma Grin Huh Undecided
Edit iam glad for the Avalon6 which imo is it superior, has  not produce HW as of yet Smiley
Edit: it kept on mining it just reported board 3 as dead i shut it down and disconnected power and data cable and stated buck up until today Cool

Pictures like that really make me worry about my equipment catching fire as well.  Sorry to hear about that but glad nothing else caught on fire.  Were you running it at the default frequency?

With these difficulty jumps they would have to be some pretty impressive miners and they would have to be very reasonably priced but it's all a vicious cycle.  If they are worthy of buying then so many people would buy them that eventually it will get to the point that the difficulty jumps up to the point that they are no longer profitable.  In the end everything just basically ends up in the same boat.  I hope I'm wrong but that's the way I see things now.

why not go extreme 10!!!!!!!! Smiley

The more we can get now before this next crazy difficulty jump the better!  Of course more blocks after the jump too.

I have some spare IBM 2KW PSU that I'm not using as well as PCI-E cables.  If you're interested, please PM me for a good price.

Thanks I managed find a pair finally, but with this crazy expected difficulty increase I may not be able to put much use to them for very long.
653  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S7 is available at bitmaintech.com with 4.86TH/s, 0.25J/GH on: February 11, 2016, 12:56:15 PM
I just got some plugs and made these little jumpers...

Nice I like that a lot not having to have that extra cable hanging out.  Bad enough that the S7 needs 10 PCIe connectors there are enough cables all over the place.

His pricing is very difficult to read.

I assumed it was 1.21 BTC for the S7. But I guess its $800. Not bad.

SP10 is only $100 USD? Not a bad deal

The SP10 does sound like a good deal if only they weren't located so far from me.  Shipping would totally kill it for me and yes I'm not sure what the 1.21 means after the S7 either.

What type psu with the sp20? Also what will shipping cost?

And the PSU for the S7.

I also understand people love Spondoolies but I don't see paying the same price for the SP35 and the S7 since the S7 is much more efficient.  I guess the SP35's rack and stack nicely.

the sp35 has two power supply included (just mentioning)

But the S7 comes with PSU as well unless I'm reading it wrong.

There was also a high share about 7 hours ago: (about 2.25hrs before we got the block)
Code:
[2016-02-10 07:34:36.738+11] Share ok Diff 98.0% (141162320081/144116447847.3) --- Pool 213413120924.0 213G 148.08%
(previous one was 9 days ago)

Comparing these numbers to my highest share currently makes me realize how incredibly far off all my equipment is.  I know it's all luck but man this difficulty is getting crazy high.
658  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] 2x Avalon A6 with Raspberry Pi controller 1.75 BTC on: February 09, 2016, 01:36:39 AM
Is that 1.75 for both or per?

Should be common sense that is EACH

Pretty sure you asked the same question about his SP20 sale.

Really nice setup.  Did you ever decide on selling a 2880 fan kit?
