641  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What remarkable thing have you achieved with the money you won from gambling? on: February 03, 2024, 02:00:22 PM
If you are a gambler, you should think about or write down a reasonable or memorable thing you would do with the money in case luckily for you one day you won a huge amount of money in gambling, so you will ever remember where the money did come from.

I don't have to write it all down everything is written in my mind so I know what to do in case I win a big amount it always plays in my mind, and about the money I win from gambling it cannot be considered remarkable but it's something that will always remind me when I'm at home.
I renovated our kitchen with the money I won from a small lottery It was only $500 but it keeps our roof from dripping whenever there's bad weather.
It's a good feeling when you use the money you've won in gambling for something that will benefit your family and will always remind you what you have done well for the money you've won.
That should be a part of your goal whenever you're playing because you never know when luck will hit you.
642  Economy / Gambling discussion / Are you a generous gamblers on: February 03, 2024, 11:47:12 AM

I just met a friend while playing in a lottery called Keno. He is a good gambler and sometimes hits jackpots. As a pensioner with grown children, he is a heavy bettor. I noticed that he is a generous gambler. He uses half of his winnings to treat friends, neighbors, and relatives every time he wins. He does this to invite good karma and since he acknowledges his gambling addiction, people who know him don't question him.

One of his friends asked him why he kept betting instead of saving so he would have something when he needed it.

His answer was straightforward,
Quote
'I am betting so when I win I can share half of my winnings with my friends and relatives who need money like you.
' I was surprised by his answer. His friends felt guilty for asking him. Some gamblers are that generous to avoid questions about their gambling activities and to continue gambling.

How about you? Are you generous and if so, why are you generous?

In my case, I am a little generous because winning is a blessing that should be shared. However, I will not make people feel guilty when I give an amount from my blessing.
643  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling addiction does more harm than mere financial loss on: February 02, 2024, 03:58:19 PM
Anything that will incur financial losses will harm the state of mind of the losers, it doesn't have to be in gambling but in gambling, once it incurs financial losses there will be quarrels that will result in domestic violence, financial losses are one of the things that harm gamblers, and it will have a bad effect on all areas of gamblers, relationship with the family, performance on works, efficiency in running a business and it all starts when you lose a lot of money in gambling.
It's different when the gambler is winning people will look up to him because gamblers are generous, but losing is more frequent than winning in gambling so everything is on a downside when gamblers start to lose.
644  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: To what extent have you hated yourself due to your gambling losses? on: February 02, 2024, 03:31:31 PM

In your entire gambling journey, have you ever had a series of losses to the extent you hated yourself so much for being so unlucky?

Yes, there was one when I was just starting to gamble,  what made it more disappointing was I was trying to win because I needed money but while you keep trying to win it's the losses that keep coming, I considered myself jinx because the series of losses is just unbearable so I decided to take a time out from vacation, and when I came I was surprised that the wins just kept on coming, that erased my mind that I was a jinx in gambling.
A long series of losses and a long series of winning is just natural, so I learned that when you're having bad losses better take your time, and when you're having a series of wins then strike while the iron is hot.
However, none of these matters if you're playing for fun - winning and losing don't matter when your mindset is focused on enjoyment.

645  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Proverbs and Sayings that Act as Triggers to Gambling on: February 02, 2024, 02:21:47 PM
Just as we have expressed our concerns about certain gambling advertisements serving as potential triggers, I have observed and I think that there are gambling proverbs or quotes can also play a role in influencing individuals. Look at this Chinese proverb, "If you don’t gamble, you won’t know how lucky you are." From this proverb, it can spur a regular person to explore gambling as a means to test their luck and become hooked. Also, the person who has been gambling will want to continue gambling while being hopeful that someday they will eventually be lucky and hit the jackpot.
Only newbies and those addicted to gambling will believe in these proverbs, they embrace these sayings so they can justify why they should continue to gamble, these sayings will benefit casinos and they want gamblers to believe that it is a fact, they want you to have that mantra because as long as you hold on to these proverbs and mantras the money will keep flowing and you will continue to be the casinos' cash cow

Quote
What other proverbs or sayings could potentially act as triggers, enticing individuals to initiate or perpetuate their gambling activities?

I don't have any and I don't want to have one, we should treat gambling as entertainment all these proverbs will just entice you to go back to gambling again and again because all these sayings are for promoting gambling, that you can make money out of it.

However, there's a gambling quote I've always seen at one lottery outlet near us. It reads:

'You could be the next millionaire tomorrow if you bet now.'

I think this saying works because there are so many bettors in that lottery outlet.
646  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🌌WEISS Crypto Casino| 8 BTC + 70 FS Welcome Pack ♠️ Unique February Token Sale on: February 02, 2024, 12:22:35 PM
Why do you offer 8BTC as a welcome bonus if the max withdrawal is 4000€/week? Let's say i depo the 8BTC, wager and make 1BTC profit, that would be in Euro in the amount of $356,521.80 so, i will need close to 75 weeks to withdraw, that's 17.26 months. or close to 1 and a half years.

Another important thing to mention is that any withdrawal will need KYC.

Nice ripoff to the users who don't read the ToS.

That's a good computation they overlooked this computation, this question is valid or they will have to admit that they made an error on their computation, this is one of the reasons why we have to read and fully scrutinize and understand what's on the Terms Of Service, they have a trap for those who don't read TOS.

I've checked their Whois information and this is what I found out the site was updated On: 2023-03-15 and they have questionable TOS no one among the owners of the site saw this wrong computation and has not made a correction on it.
They have to address the computation first before anything else its an error that needs to be corrected.

647  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tim Tszyu vs Keith Thurman WBO super welterweight Title March 31 on: February 01, 2024, 03:51:27 PM

For me it's obvious that he no longer interested on boxing, and that's why he was been out for 2 years. His injury really did it for him because when he come back, it was a different Thurman, his power is no longer there and maybe just boxing around for the money. His lost to Manny already proved that his motivate and fire might be really gone and after that he was on/off in boxing. Obviously he can still run his mouth in this fight, but as far as performance, Tszyu being the younger and the champion might have the advantage here. Let's watch here the kick-off press conference: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PTOgKPSpch4

Thurman is being Thurman on this press conference and keeps praising himself, making us believe that he is still the great Thurman that we've known, I just don't like that he's belittling Tszyu's achievement and capability as if he is so sure that he can beat Tszyu and its good to know that Tzsyu is not even bothered by Thurman's thrash talking he even call Tszyu as an Australian with a Mexican style belittling Mexican boxers as slow and flatfooted, this is disrespecting Mexican boxers.
I hope Tszyu punishes Thurman like Pacquiao did, I'm sure on fight night many Mexicans will be rooting for Tszyu because of what Thurman said against the Mexican boxers.
648  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: stop the unnecessary blame on gambling whenever you get unlucky on: February 01, 2024, 03:33:48 PM

I believe that before one make a decision in life, they should've already weighed the consequences of making the right or wrong choice, then put their fate on luck coupled with their little knowledge concerning what they're about to decide on, so why complain and play the blame game when things go wrong? "Share your thought on how gambling has come through for you if you got any".

So many gamblers are doing this I know a lot in my neighborhood who blame almost everything, even the weather or the black cat that walks in front of them, this is just their reason so they will not blame themselves so they can go back to gambling, they don't want to blame themselves because if they do that people will question them on why they continue gambling when they will just blame themselves when they lose.
So most of the time they blame the casino like they are being cheated or the casinos are not being fair, they are so self-righteous that they believe that they did the right thing so they cannot lose.

We have so many gamblers who are poor bettors and then blame the casinos for losing a lot of money, some of them even open a scam accusation just to make it appear that the casinos are at fault, when in fact their being a poor bettors or manipulating the rules are what cause their losses or being banned.

649  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Viewpoint of a fan gambling on: February 01, 2024, 02:36:35 PM

I want to find out if there are individuals like me. What percentage of the gamblers in Bitcointalk are wagering and not wagering to their dearest star player, club and team?

You're a gambler, you will take the opportunity to make money even at the expense of your favorite team or fighter I did this many times in our local basketball tournament, I just don't announce that I'm betting against my favorite team so I will not receive criticism.
It's ok to bet against your favorite team, people shift their loyalty and allegiance to another team when one of their favorite players or players moves to the other team.
You don't have to question yourself or anyone questioning you about your loyalty you can still cheer your team but not when you're betting against the other team,
gambling is gambling it's your hard-earned money that you're staking so it's just right that you pick the right bet that will yield winning.
So far on the poll, all the voters voted
Quote
I can wager against my dearest star player, club and team.   - 10 (100%)
but I will not be surprised if some members go the other way, some gamblers are very dedicated to their favorite team.

I once did it in the Pacquiao - Bradley fight, Pacquiao is my all-time favorite but I just felt that Bradley could give him a hard time because of his size and I did win the bet but I still support Pacquiao to this day.

650  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are there Casinos that offer Birthday Bonuses to their users? on: February 01, 2024, 02:09:20 PM
Hi guys,

So, my neighbor's wife works as a customer attendant in one local casino some miles away from where we live, a day before yesterday (which was Monday) was her birthday, she didn't go to work that day because the casino management to rest and enjoy with her family, she went to work yesterday being Tuesday, she came back in the evening and was so happy, so, me and her husband trying to find out what was the reason for her happiness, she announced to us that the casino management gave her a $150 voucher,.

We celebrated with her, because $150 is quite a nice sum of money when converted to our local currency.
We call it a worker or a staff bonus, and offline casinos are profitable business so they are generous in giving bonuses to their staff on their special day, other companies are doing the same, in our company the management is workers a paid day off to worker who's celebrating their birthday, your neighbor's wife is lucky to receive a huge amount of money.

Quote
This incident caused  me to begin to wonder is there are any online casinos that actually celebrate their user's birthday by giving them such bonus on their birthday?
I am interested to know if there be any casino like that?
On all the many casinos I've played only one casino gave me bonus in my birthday and its a local casinos, the bonus is free spins, that's the kind of bonuses online and offline casinos gave to their users but to their workers they are more generous because they help run the company to be profitable.
651  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: SolVegas.net - Decentralised Casino on Solana blockhain | 0.1% House Edge on: February 01, 2024, 12:28:16 PM
Many gamblers do not have Solana, but this is a good casino platform to promote in the Solana community, The majority of players are lenient to centralized exchange because they are configured to accept multiple coins and are more compliant than these so-called decentralized tokens compared to dedicated token casinos.
I don't think this platform is competitive enough to go against well-established platforms, they should offer something unique or different, all the games are already on the top casinos and the platform is incomplete, there are a lot of incomplete details and the representative here is not dedicated its been 24 hours since he last login, is this another platform where the representative will just drop their link and not show up, if they are dedicated to make their platform popular here then better get a good manager, . While it might be costly, it's worth it, especially if they aim to market properly here.
652  Other / Off-topic / Re: Before you start gambling, do some research first on: January 31, 2024, 03:43:11 PM

Is there anyway to help this person? I have given some advice to start using small percentage of the whole salary and safe the rest but still couldn't, and I don't want to help him to hold his money for him, he is over 28 years old, not a underage.

He have gotten used to this way because he started gambling all by himself and he won some money but end up even fuelling his addiction. What is next? Any tip?
There is no particular age at which you can be considered capable of making correct decisions when it comes to gambling, Age is never a consideration. You did not mention if he already has a family. If he does, then it's a major concern for his family. However, if he is single and only earning for himself, the least you can do is to keep advising him and attempt to talk him out of it. Taking or leading him to a new interest so you can shift his focus away from gambling is a good idea.
You can get him involved in sports or help him meet a girl for a date the idea is to give him a new interest, so his focus is not only on gambling.
When I was very active in betting in fiestas and losing a lot of money my friend helped me overcome this by introducing me to the sport of chess It is a mind game but it will strengthen your control and you will learn how to think clearly.

Hello coin-investor, was chess game responsible for removing the irresistible gambling urge in you, how long was it until you were able to think clearly, as stated in your response. Board games as chess have some control over the brain, it enables us to think beyond the actions of the opponent. Thereby helping the person to take for few minutes, control of his thoughts. First time reading this, but chess game looks like a nice substitute for any other game that could remove addiction in a gambler's life. What matters is the conversations with the gambling addict. He'd need to understand the interesting aspect of playing such games as chess, and how it could uplift his thinking and take him miles away from gambling compulsively. However, the reactions may differ from one player to another, but it's indeed a great idea to divest the focus of the addict of gambling to chess.
Hello, Accardo Yeah I'd like to thank my friend for introducing me to the board game chess but, besides the game of chess, it was a good opportunity for him to talk me out of being an irresponsible gambler, while we were playing chess I am more susceptible to suggestions and on the many times that we've played he had a good influence on how I become a better gambler and of course a better chess player.
The mind should have a substitute when you have the urge to gamble, and it is one of the outlets, there are other outlets like taking more work so you'll have no time to gamble date a girl, or engage in physical sports, or  anything that can stimulate the mind to replace the urge to gamble.
653  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: O’Shaquie Foster vs. Abraham Nova WBC World SUPER FEATHERWEIGHT Feb 16 on: January 31, 2024, 02:53:51 PM

Looking at the odds and it match what I did say early, easy fight for Foster as Abraham Nova is almost 7:1 underdog in this fight.

The odds favor Foster because between the two he is the more technical boxer, but in terms of power they are equal, 7:1 underdog in this fight is not acceptable Nova is not a level C fighter he has proven that he can get back from setbacks, I'm sure Nova learned a lot from that Ramirez losses and he will improve his defense I agree that Foster is a favorite but Nova can pull an upset here, he has fought one of the best fighters in that division and that will give him a good experience.

I expect a tough night for both fighters because they both love to slug it out and when two fighters love to slug it out and are willing to take it so they can give out, expect a very good fight.
It's two weeks to go looking forward to a press conference and of course the faceoff, both fighters love to threaten their opponent with their face-off by their looks.

655  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Responsible Gambling Practices Most People Ignore and Sleep on on: January 31, 2024, 11:43:07 AM

3. Financial Management
Wisely managing your funds will make a huge impact on your gambling journey. It can dictate whether you will be bankrupt, have pile of debts, or go on with your life comfortably or even more comfortable depending on how you will make choices. Being a responsible gambler means handling your finances in a smart manner because responsible gambling has a deep connection and relation with how you spend your funds. You must strategize on how you will make your money grow if your main goal is to profit. It isn't enough that you have a goal. You should have an organized and strategic plan to achieve your aim. Additionally, you must know how to prevent yourself from being subjected to financial pitfalls such as loans and credit just to gamble. Maintaining control is your top priority. You should know that is a vital move to separate your gambling fund to your personal and necessary expenses.

This is for me the most important discipline that gamblers should take up, I'm guilty of this and I regret it because I lose a lot of money by not disciplining myself on how to manage my finances and bankroll.
Financial management, and properly managing your bankroll are two of the most important things that gamblers should learn if they don't want to suffer from addiction.
This is not an easy task because we are always tempted to use all our bankroll or add more money that is beyond our allocation, this is where the majority of gamblers fail and they fail miserably because the temptation to play bet more within our capacity is just too high.
The only way we could reach proper financial and bankroll management is to limit our time and pause from time to time so we can think clearly and stop being tempted to abuse our bankroll.

Good day guys, how is the gambling industry helping you this period?

However I just want to say that in the game world gamblers are always there to bet and the important thing here is when a gambler can not risk he also can not win, true or false?

That's false if you're lucky you can still win even if you bet only a small amount I have seen gamblers who are not risk takers but taking home huge amounts that's because it's their lucky day, this is what other gamblers believe so they can justify betting more and taking risks,

Quote
Many might still believe that a gamblers who's just gambling at the first day might end up winning w huge amount of money that he wasn't expecting but the truth is that as long as you stake on bet you have already risk your money, be it big or small.
Gamblers should never be influenced by the sayings and advice coming from players, they should play at their phase but get the right guidance on what gambling is and what's not, many become addicted to gambling because of the bad influence coming from people who think that they know everything about gambling and can lead you to more winnings.
Gambling for the first time should be easy, with no pressure coming from any source be it from your peers or so-called expert gamblers you have to look for enjoyment first before profit.

O'Shaquie Foster vs. Abraham Nova
Interestingly O'Shaquie Foster vs. Abraham both are currently boxers on the rise, this is full of surprises and real challenges for boxing lovers and gamblers. I saw in one of O'Shaquie's sources that he wants to prove to the world that he is the best junior lightweight boxer, Whether O'Shaquie's statement is one of arrogance, nevertheless we all wish the two the best when they meet in the ring.

However, Foster has a history in a boxing career (21-2, 10 KOs) while Nova has a history (23-1, 16 KOs) in a boxing career.

Both fighters had words that got their fans excited.
For example Nova's throw.
Quote
"My team and I have got this opportunity to bring home the world title," said Nova. “You know what I bring, and you know about me. Don't be afraid, there is no doubt.”

In the current situation and my rating for both boxing results will end with points [5] DRAW.

This is a puncher versus puncher scenario, Foster is a strong favorite here if we are going to base this on both fighters' performances, Foster's last loss was way back in 2016 and this was via Unanimous decision while Abraham Nova was knocked out by Robeisy Ramirez in 2022 and Foster has good movements in the ring he moves like Mayweather and a good counter puncher.

Between the two Nova's chin is questionable here is the video of Nova getting mauled by

O’ShaquieFoster 21-2-0 will meet Abraham Nova 23-1-0 for WBC World SUPER FEATHERWEIGHT  Feb 16 at Madison Square New York City, they may not be popular boxers in that division like Emmanuel Navarette or Gervonta Davis, or Haney but these two can be considered as tough fighters in that division and we have a making of a great fight here as both fighters are heavy hitter so this fight is likely to end in knock out and it could go either way it depends on who can hit the hardest first.

Here are the highlights of both fighters

659  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [A POLL] Without Chances of Making Money, Will you still be gambling? on: January 29, 2024, 12:24:02 PM
So far, this is the result of the poll, reflecting the players' goals when they gamble. Gamblers understand the definition of gambling: it's staking or betting your money in the hope that you'll receive something in return if you get lucky. It's demoralizing to play on a platform where your chances of winning are zero. Even when the odds are one in a million, you still want to have a chance. Given two similar platforms, the platform that provides chances to win will receive more votes, as reflected in this poll.
I'm also surprised that there are votes to option 1 but we all have different preferences when it comes to betting.

Me: Gambling is a game of chances to winning or loosing where stakes are involved. It is an activity of personal desires to decide if you derives chasing after profits or catching funs.

If there's money involved and you are putting your money on the line to bet it's called gambling whether you're doing this to make money or out of entertainment

Quote
However you tends to define gambling, it would be incomplete if stakes, risks, and challenging activities (competitions) are not mentioned.

You can defined it your way but my interest is to understand this>>> Are sports games or related competitive activities which stakes are involved between both sides or teams also gambling?
Remember, there would be a winner to be rewarded and a looser to lost the stakes.
If there is no money involved and teams are vying for pride, prestige, and honor then it is called competition, on sports the best teams who excel based on their performance are the ones that are honored I consider this as vying for excellence, but if you are a spectator and you are betting your money in any one of the team then its called gambling, there is a big difference, you cannot call a basketball league as a gambling platform because they are vying for physical excellence and not only for money, money is just an incentive for defeating the other team
