661  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Trading signal channels can be quite clever, so exercise caution ! on: August 20, 2023, 02:16:17 PM
I understand how this kind of trading signal operate, based on my experience joining a couple of the Premium Group, not all, but based on my experience it wasn't so different from the pump-and-dump group. So, the Group Owner, will have several groups, 3 Level of Premium Groups and one Free Group, lets say that the Premium Group consist of three groups, Top Level is Gold Group, followed by Silver Group, then Bronze Group, and the last one Free Group.

The owner will spread the signal to the Gold Group first, lets say at 12PM, then two hours after that he will broadcast the signal to the Silver Group or at 2PM, then three hours later to the Bronze Group or at 5PM, and finally the owner will broadcast the signal to the Free Group 6 hours after the first broadcast he made.

With this kind of MO, Silver Group is buying the Gold Group Orders, Bronze Group is buying the Silver Group & Gold Group orders, and the Free Member is buying everything that left. Then there will be the question of who is buying the Free Group order, if the Free Group is lucky then there will be some people who are not in any of those group jumping to the FOMO bandwagon and buying those order, if not lucky then those Free Group members will become the slaughtered pig, getting nothing.
662  Economy / Economics / Re: Cryptocurrencies are now playing a major role in regulating the economy on: August 20, 2023, 02:02:47 PM
Will you agree with the thought that cryptocurrency is going to make a significant contribution to the economy of every country in the world ?

This might be a cliche but the answer will depend on so many things, the first is the education level of the people in the country, doesn't matter whatever tech that brought to a country if the people is not educated then it won't be any use. Before any country adopting crypto or bitcoin they should improve the education level of their people, and for some country I believe it's not an east task. And then there is other factor like the political condition, the internet infrasturcture .etc.
663  Economy / Economics / Re: How to avoid over expenses and have discipline on: August 20, 2023, 01:51:48 PM
I tried all of those method few years ago, it worked but only for several weeks, after that the urge to spend money on entertainment and not so productive stuff piled up and finally make me surrender. The only solution I have for now is depositing my money on to term deposit so that I can only withdraw it after certain period of time. I don't know if anyone has the same problem like me, but I never learn how to save money until I can earn my own money, and starting to learn how to save money when I already an adult is not so easy for me.
664  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What they used before Blockchain Explorer? on: August 19, 2023, 02:00:45 PM
Blockchain.com wasn't the one who built the first blockexplorer. By the way, they were known as Blockchain.info prior to that. You are right; no one actually needed to see the balance of someone else's address and most of the information that you see on the blockexplorers are not essential to most.

The first blockexplorer was actually created by theymos: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1727.0. This was before blockexplorer.com and it led to the creation of that which was a lot more polished and with more detailed information.

Was this happened before or after theymos become the sole admin of this forum, I believe previously the admin of this forum is satoshi himself. I always wonder why theymos was chosen to be the admin (since he is not the one founded the forum,  --or maybe he is actually the one founded the forum, maybe he is satoshi--) but I if he was making the block explorer before everyone else then his contribution to bitcoin is what made him chosen to become the admin
665  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin does not provide full anonymity on: August 19, 2023, 01:51:48 PM
It's not fully provide anonymity, but it provide anonymity on a certain ways, compared to the way that bank transfer move money from one account to another, those accounts has the full identity of its owner, Bitcoin doesn't and that is anonymity. It's true that the transaction is traceable but if the person chose not never to reveal or sign their address then no one could connect the address to anyone.
666  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it worth it to teach older people about bitcoin technology? on: August 19, 2023, 01:04:17 PM
I don't think it's ever about the age, it's more about their own willingness, even if the person you are trying to guide is still young but if the person doesn't actually want to learn about bitcoin, then it's not worth it, no matter how hard you try to teach those kind of person they will not understand because they don't want to understand. And on the other side, even 50 or 60 years old could learn about bitcoin if they are willing to learn.
667  Economy / Economics / Re: Were Banks and Governments behind this Dump? on: August 19, 2023, 12:25:30 PM
I saw that OP has no single proof or article reference to back up your opinion, so you are not very convincing about this. What bugged me is that right now government has so many more important problems than dumping Bitcoin, low employment, inflation, recession .etc, and dumping Bitcoin won't help them.

The more possible explanation IMO is that some people who speculate on Bitcoin because it's halving were not satisfied with the market condition until the Q3 and they don't want to speculate further, afraid if they would loss more money on the Q4.
668  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Will Bitcoin do to Bank what email did to the post office? on: August 19, 2023, 12:15:13 PM
Such a thing can happen if there is revolutionary thinking from the country's leadership itself. who dare to change and give good breakthroughs to the developing financial system in their country.

Political will never came from just a leader, drastic political change always happened when people demand it. I am skeptical that there will be leader that will jeopardize government/it's own control over currency by using decentralized crypto as the main currency, people should demand for it, I am not saying it should be street demonstration or a riot, just do the legal action or anything, if majority of people not willing to demand for crypto or bitocin to be used as the main currency then no leader would do it.
669  Economy / Economics / Re: Running faucet business in 2023 still possible? on: August 18, 2023, 02:08:58 PM
If you want to add faucet into your website as part of it, I mean not like the main feature of your website then I would say go for it. But if you want to make website that specifically for faucet, I also think it is still possible, but there won't be much visitor in this market condition I doubt people will spend their time closing/skipping some ads for just a few sat that worth only few cent. Maybe waiting for the market to get better.
670  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin price hits the rock as Space X sells all it's BTC holdings on: August 18, 2023, 02:03:27 PM
The current Bitcoin market cap according to coinmarketcap.com is around $ 510B, so $373M is only like 0.7% of the total market cap. Tho is not a small amount and it will still have some effect on the price, but I don't think it make Bitcoin price plummeting. For now after falling 7% the price seems going back to sideways, and I think this is the lowest the price will be affected by Space X liquidation.
671  Economy / Economics / Re: Bad economic situation makes bitcoins more difficult to keep. on: August 18, 2023, 01:55:26 PM
True, I can relate to your discussion with your friend, I previously thought it was only me, but it also happened to some of my friend. Up until now, I have cashed out more than half of my crypto saving. I used to hold not only Bitcoin but also some altcoins, but I have sold all of those altcoins, only bitcoin left on my portfolios, and it's not that much too actually, this 'recession' hit me quite hard. Doesn't matter how we believe and love Bitcoins, we still need to survive and meets our end meet, the last resort is to liquidate our cryptos.
672  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Will Bitcoin do to Bank what email did to the post office? on: August 18, 2023, 11:42:33 AM
That's what the blockchain community hope, and for me I also wish that could happened, but I don't think it will be in our lifetime. And maybe not this Bitcoin that we currently have right now. People should finally realize that blockchain system is better then current Banking and currency system, and when that happened people would demand a revolution for decentralized currency system that is uncontrolled by government, but again I doubt we will witness that in our lifetime.
673  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: IT'S BITCOIN.ORG 15 YEARS ANNIVERSARY AND NO ONE IS CELEBRATING on: August 18, 2023, 11:37:31 AM
It don't surprise me that people won't remember the date when the domain is registered, people are more focusing on the product which is Bitcoin, so the launched of Bitcoin, January 2009 is more remembered by people, and that's fair, I didn't say that the domain registration date is not important, but the product launch is definitely more important.
674  Economy / Economics / Re: Any business where today you launch, tomorrow you begin making profit...? on: August 18, 2023, 09:47:11 AM
I don't think there are any business that can have ROI in one day, however offering service usually has faster ROI compared to selling product since it has less upfront cost, but that's assuming you already has required tools and skill you need to offer the service. Assuming you already has PC/Mobile phone then you can use this gadget to get some money, learn some tech related skill.
675  Other / Off-topic / Re: ...paid for shitposting? on: August 17, 2023, 03:08:41 PM
I found a job advert that is willing to pay a shit poster. I was surprised because shit posting is heavily frowned at in this forum. So, there is a place shitposters are needed in reddit.

Quote
[Hiring] Shitposting

Yeah the title says it, you get paid when you shitpost.

Requirements

-Your reddit account older that 45 days

-Must have above 70 "comment karma"

-Your account must be able to upvote (make sure you're not "upvote banned")

This prompted me to ask these questions;
1. What is shitposting?
2. What should we check out for in a post, such that when we see it we can confidently call the post a shit post
3. Is there any difference between shitposting and spamming?

Since the quote is mentioning Karma I believe it's from reddit, so when I was still hanging on Reddit, shitposting was a little bit different from what is considered as spamming in this forum. Spamming in Bitcointalk is (IMO CMIIW) when a user posting a one liner meaningless reply repeatedly to many posts/thread. While a shitpost in reddit is replying to a post with some offensive opinion that the shitposter think it's funny when someone is triggered  by his post, more like trolling.

This kind of practice paying someone to shitpost is not very rare I think on reddit, place is full of shitpost actually.
676  Economy / Economics / Re: What is the reason for the X on: August 17, 2023, 02:58:25 PM

If topic already existed I don't mind locking this thread.

I saw some topic related to the twitter change, but I most of them more focused on Elon Musk, but then again the X company is actually Elon's personal obsession. Elon has been wanted to make the X company since he was still in PayPal, he wanted to change PayPal to X company but the boards reject that. He finally made SpaceX, and now when he has twitter as his very own company no board nothing, he could do what he has been wanted to do. Finally established X Company.

Some people really bothered by this, but for me I really don't care, the platform is still offering the very same service nothing is changed, just some renaming, Retweet >> Repost. What's bothering me is acually the blue check mark submission, I use to rely on twitter to contact a customer support, and there are a lot of scammers pretend as a customer support, I used to just check whether it has checkmark or not, now I need to double check it.
677  Economy / Economics / Re: What Actually Drives People/Gov to Adopt New and Bold Decisions on: August 17, 2023, 02:50:09 PM
I know most people thing that government is all evil and cruel, but the truth is government is just like a big company. Each and everyone of them want to make profit for themself while at the same time maintain the government and the nation to survive and keep running. Government won't make a huge policy that will sink the nation, kill most of the citizen or make them very poor and stop working, they need to make the citizen able to work so the economy is not stop. Most of their decision will be made to increase productivity and nation income thus increase their own income, those decision will most likely dictate by the stakeholders or some of us call them Oligarch, some of the decision will be based on good research, but then again even if the decision is based on research the goal is still to increase productivity and income so the stakeholders get richer, and the government get more bonuses. In some special case, like in the country where I live, the Oligarch is also the government, most of the new laws that made are actually benefitting their business.
678  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: any reivew about escrow service bitify.com on: August 17, 2023, 11:45:24 AM
I rarely use any escrow for my transaction here and I haven't used bitify.com so I couldn't help about that. But if you need an alternative, there are some trusted escrow service by some user in this forum. Other than those both, there is https://zen.land/ this is their ANN https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5445258, I only used them like a couple of time, but I can say that the process and the service is pretty much seamless.

This is my full review of the of the service, there are also some other review by other users

679  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It's 2140. All the Bitcoin is now mined, only mining transactions make $ on: August 17, 2023, 11:28:02 AM
I am sorry I might be hated to say this lol, especially in a bitcoin forum, but I don't think by 2140 bitcoin is still exist. It will be remembered definitely as one of the biggest financial technology in the history, but by that year, people should see a much larger scale of blockchain and cryptocurrency. Let's just see how a storage technology has evolved on the last decade, 1TB wasn't even on the consumer market, now 1TB is fit into our pocket on a smartphone. the the hard-disk as we knew before is now obsolete we have solid state now.
680  Economy / Economics / Re: China Setting up mBridge against US Swift Ban on: August 17, 2023, 11:14:50 AM
I have nothing against swift US or EU, but I think this mBridge is a good thing for other country. Not to say that china dominating economy will be better than US but at least now we will have option, the US won't be a single super power. The worst thing could happened is that China might be finally won't be afraid to poke on Taiwan, if they succeeded in expanding this mBridge and lead the economy with Yuan, which if that actually happened I will very much regretting saying that mBridge is a good thing.
